Joe Davis

Funeral services for Seminole resident, Joe Davis, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Friday, Feb 13, at Little River Baptist Church, Spaulding.

Revs. Robert Davis and Leon Postoak will officiate.

He will be moved to the Church, Thursday, Feb 12, at 5:30 p.m.

Wake Services will be 7:00 p.m. at the Church

Interment will follow at Davis Family Cemetery, under the direction of the Stout-Phillips Funeral Home of Wewoka.

Davis passed away Feb. 9, 2004, at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City at the age of 61 years.

He was born Jan. 11, 1943, in Sasakwa, to Nora (Tiger) Davis and Abler Davis.

He lived most of his live in Seminole County and was baptized Sept. 12, 1954, at Spring Church by James Cully, where he was a member.

He attended Little River Baptist Church.

He was retired from the National Guard in Wewoka and employed at Hayes Axle from 1974 to 1997.

He left four daughters, Samantha Harjo, Cindy Simpkins and Kathy Downey, all of Seminole and Tabbi Winters of Wewoka; one son, Motelilo Sanchez Simpkins of the home; four grandchildren; four sisters, Jeanith Davis, Lana Bowlegs and Flora Factor, all of Wewoka, Wanda Dodson of Holdenville, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Reba Davis; father, Abler Davis; mother, Nora Davis; three brothers, Jesse Davis, Tom Davis and Willie Davis; one sister, Jeannie Davis.

Pallbearers will be George Postoak, Jimmy Joe Harjo, Jerry Harjo, Vernon Harjo, Eugene Harjo and Lloyd Harjo.

Honorary bearers will be Abler Davis II, Kenny Bowlegs, John Gentry, Wendell Reschke, Charles Davis, John Coon, Roy Allen and Ben Gravett.

The family would like to express a special thanks to the CHR Driver and the Nurses at the Dialysis Center.

John Wesley ‘Wheeler’ Davis

Funeral services for part time Seminole County resident John Wesley "Wheeler" Davis were scheduled for 2 p.m. today at Rock Springs Indian Baptist Church near Sasakwa. Burial was scheduled to take place at the church cemetery.

Rev. Alvin Deer was scheduled to officiate.

A wake service was held 8 p.m. yesterday at Rock Springs Indian Baptist Church.

Swearingen Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Davis, who had been residing in Midwest City, died Friday, Oct. 29, 2004, at University Hospital. He was 36.

Born Sept. 13, 1968, in Oklahoma City to Homer Lee Davis and Emily Mae (Samuels) Davis, he lived in Oklahoma City and Midwest City but spent his summers in Seminole County.

Davis was a self-employed drywall contractor.

He was preceded in death by one grandson, Alejandro Davis; paternal grandparents, Quanita and George Davis; and maternal grandparents, Edna and Peter McClure.

Davis is survived by his parents, Emily and Homer Davis of Midwest City; companion, Pamela Kaye Jones of the home; two sons, Anthony Scott Davis and John Wesley Davis II both of Midwest City; daughter Kerri Renee Davis-Salazar of Oklahoma City; brother Steve Davis of Midwest City; two sisters, Kimberly Davis-Fortner of Midwest City and Sue Ann Davis of Oklahoma City; and mother of his children, Gina Jacob of Midwest City.

Phyllis Diana Davis

Funeral services for Maud resident Phyllis Diana Davis are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in St. Louis, Okla. Brother Glenn Peck will officiate.

Interment is set to follow in Cummings Cemetery in Maud. Arrangements are being handled by Knight-Searingen Funeral Home.

Davis died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004, at Unity Healthy Center North in Shawnee. She was 55.

She was born in Alton, Ill. Nov. 12, 1949, to Orville Foutch and Mildred (Bateman) Foutch.

On Nov. 22, 1996, she married David Ray Davis in Eureka Springs, Ark.

Davis was a homemaker.

She attended First Baptist Church in St. Louis.

Davis was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Jean Schroder; and one brother, Wilber Foutch.

She is survived by her husband, David Ray Davis of the home; one son and daughter-in-law Larry and Casey Garren, Jr. of Maud; three daughters and one son-in-law, Dianna Lopez of Colorado Springs, Colo., Holly and Brendan Behana of Dallas, Texas, and Sally Davis of Talahasse, Fla.; and former son-in-law, Michael Lopez, Sr. of Colorado Springs, Colo.

Davis is also survived by three brothers, Donald and Richard Foutch of Centralia, Ill., and Billy Foutch of Fairview Heights, Ill.; four sisters, Pauline Paine of Hughey, Ill., Dorothy Gauass of Fallin, Ill., Betty Vaughn and Brenda Elliston of Centralia, Ill.; and five grandchildren, Kaley Garren, Jordy Garren, Robert Rodriguez, Michael Lopez, Jr., Malfa Lopez.

Quanita Davis

Funeral services for former Seminole County resident Quanita Davis are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, at the Rock Springs Baptist Church in Sasakwa, under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.

Rev. Houston Tiger is set to officiate, and burial will be at the Rock Springs Cemetery.

Davis died in a Lawton hospital Sunday, Sept. 12, 2004, at the age of 81.

She was born in Sasakwa on March 31, 1923, to John Morgan and Yannah Tebe.

She married George Davis and spent her life as a homemaker. Most recently, she was a resident of Anadarko.

Davis was a member of the Rock Springs Baptist Church in Sasakwa.

Wake services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, at the Rock Springs Baptist Church.

Davis was preceded in death by her husband in 1988, and one brother, Edward Morgan.

She is survived by two sons, Homer Davis of Midwest City, and Glen Davis of Oklahoma City; two daughters, Wilma Dawes of Kansas City, Kan., and Christine Yeahpaw of Anadarko; 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be Glen Davis Jr., Homer Davis, Bob Fortner Sr., Bob Fortner Jr., John Davis and Steve Davis.

Ronald Davis

Memorial services for former Seminole County resident, Rev. Ronald Clare Davis will be held by Brownsville, Fla. Assembly of God Church and then final services are scheduled for 2 p.m. April 10 at Safford First Assembly of God Church located at 924 1st Avenue in Safford, Ariz.

He was a wonderful father, grandfather, pastor and friend who went to be with the Lord he loved and so faithfully served on March 29, 2004, at the age of 90 in Pensacola, Fla.

He was born in Buhl, Idaho on June 29, 1913, his lifetime of selfless serving and giving will be in hearts forever.

He was an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God and pastored churches in Idaho, California, Arizona, as well as Washington, Okla.

He was married to Marie Hazelrigg for 53 years before her death in 1992.

Davis was also a prison Chaplain for the Federal Prison near Safford for many years.

He married Lydia McWhinney in Aug. 1992 and shared five and one-half years with her and her family in Santee, Calif, prior to her passing in 1998.

He is survived by his two daughters, Earlene (Bobby) Porter of Pensacola, Fla. and Verlene (Jerry) Anderson of Safford, Ariz.; three grandchildren, Brian, Kathleen and Karen Porter of Pensacola, Fla.; one foster son, Ervin Clayton of Wewoka; a foster grandson and wife, Kevin and Tammy Clayton of Seminole; and a great granddaughter, Stephani of Seminole as well as over 75 persons who were called into the lords and ordained to work as missionaries and ministers under his ministry.

He also served as Presbyter and had pastored the Assembly of God Church in Sasakwa for nine years.

Donations may be made to a ministry of choice.

Rustin Davis

Funeral services for Rustin "Chanc" Davis, grandson of Seminole residents, were held at 2 p .m. Monday, May 17 at Olivet Baptist Church in Sand Springs with Rev. Scott Palmer officiating.

Interment followed at the Woodland Memorial Park under the direction of the Mobley-Dodson Funeral Service of Sand Springs..

He died Thursday, May 13, 2004, at the age of 18.

Davis was an honor roll student and captain of the Sandites Baseball Team.

He is survived by his parents, Sonny and Julie Davis and his sister, Casey Davis of Sand Springs, Grandparents, Marvin and Glenda Lay of Seminole and Roger and Ellen Davis of Sand Springs, as well as other family members and friends.

Pall bearers were Brandon Crain, John Green, Blake Henderson, Jake Raglin, Greg Winsworth, Jared Waler, Kyle Ayers and Jared Shelton.

Honorary Pall bearers were his classmates and friends.

Donations may be made to the Chanc Davis Memorial Fund at Local Oklahoma Bank, 3973 S. Hwy. 97, Sand Springs, 74063.

Jack Eugene Davis

Graveside services for longtime Wewoka resident Jack Eugene Davis will be at 10:30 a.m. on Mon. at Oakwood Cemetery. Officiating at the services will be Bro. Michael Vallandingham.

Davis, 76, died at his home on Aug. 19, 2004 and was born in Shawnee to Luther and Ila (Brown) Davis on July 19, 1928.

He attended school at Wewoka Schools. After high school he served in the Navy and fought in World War II.

Davis married Mary Louise Owens on Aug. 2, 1955 in Sallisaw. He was a self-employed carpenter and also worked for Wewoka Housing Authority until retirement in 1993.

His parents, son Wayne Garrison, brother Luther Davis, and three sisters Ina Mae Davis, Frieda Morris, and Eva Taylor preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of the home; son David Chance of Shawnee; daughters Marva Webb of Burns Flat and Lisa Findlay of Midwest City; sister Jewel Burris of Ada; sister-in-law Nellie Davis of Wewoka: six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

Kelvin R. Dean

Services for former Wewoka resident Kelvin Roshell Dean will be held 1 p.m. on Monday at First Baptist Church, Wewoka with Elder Lloyd Thomas officiating.

Interment will be at Westwood Cemetery under the direction of Myers Mortuary.

Dean died Sept. 14, 2004 at Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was born on July 24, 2004 in Oklahoma City.

He attended elementary school and part of high school in Wewoka before moving to Midwest City. There he attended high school and graduated from Del City High School.

Dean was active in sports, and running track. He won the state record in 1983 for the 100-yard dash. Following graduation he attended Metro-Tech in Oklahoma City and pursued digital landscaping. He has done contract labor for seven years.

He is survived by his wife Michell Dean of Del City; parents, Jackie Leon Dean, Sr. and Audrey "Patricia" Jackson Dean of Del City; seven children; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Clayton Lee Dean

Funeral services for Clayton Lee Dean will be at 10 a.m. on Friday at Resthaven Funeral Chapel in Shawnee. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Dean died on Aug. 16, 2004 at his home. He was born on April 4, 1945 in Jacksonville, Fla. to Lewis Albert Dean, Sr. and Helen Virginia (Gillam) Dean.

He was an U.S. Air Force veteran who served in Vietnam. He loved mules and belonged to the Oklahoma Equestrian Trail Riders Association.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.

He is survived by daughters, Vanessa Marshall of St. Paul, Minn., Anne White of Konawa, Carol Cook of Shawnee, Mary Howerton of Denver, Colo., Ariane Dean-Cabral of Murtaugh, Idaho.

Additional survivors include sister Karen Herndon of Lebanon, Kan.; brother Lewis Albert Dean II of Niotaze, Kan.; and 12 grandchildren.
