Funeral services former Seminole County resident, Zeola Mae Dindy are scheduled for 1p.m., Wednesday, April 7, 2004 at Stout-Phillips Chapel with Rev. Parker and Minister George J. Bowens officiating.
Interment will follow at Westwood Cemetery under the direction of Stout-Phillips funeral home.
Dindy died Saturday, April 3, 2004 at the age of 60 in Oklahoma City.
She was born in Sasakwa on April 23, 1943 to Dedrick and Eliza (Williams) Dindy.
She was reared in Wewoka and attended Wewoka Schools.
She was baptized in Sasakwa at an early age and later joined the Oklahoma Christian Family.
She worked as a nursing assistant for Evergreen Nursing Home over 15 years.
She was very active in her community she never failed to show love and kindness to everyone she met.
She knew no strangers young and old, and helped those in need.
She prepared meals for convalescent, and helped young women develop parenting skills.
She loved people and she loved life.
She lived her life of love in deed by the things she did to help others.
She was preceded in death by her parents Dedrick and Eliza (Williams) Dindy and her step-mother Maezola Dindy.
She is survived by her life companion; Jock Garcia of Oklahoma City, four children; Vennie L. Dindy, Kathryn Bowen, Tracy Dindy all of Oklahoma City, Cherry Dindy of Atlanta, Ga., and three brothers; Dedrick Dindy of Ada, David Dindy of Wewoka, Bernard Dindy of Tulsa, four sisters; Ethel Garfield of Wewoka, Doris Hightower of Ada, Evelyn Hill of Longview, Texas, Bernice Dindy of Tulsa, nine grand children, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Ray Nichols, Melvin Gray Jr., Rodney Dindy, and Reggie Garfield.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Vennie Dindy and Tracy Dindy.
Zeola Dindy
Funeral services for Seminole County resident, Zeola Dindy of Wewoka are pending with the Stout-Phillips Funeral Home of Wewoka.
Dindy died Saturday, April 3, 2004, at the age of 60 at her residence in Wewoka.
Cecil Arlie Dinwiddie
Funeral services for longtime Seminole resident Cecil Arlie Dinwiddie will take place at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at the Swearingen Funeral Chapel with Jim Mitchell officiating.
Dinwiddie died Sept. 10, 2004 at Seminole Estates Nursing Home. He was born on Aug. 11, 1913 in Calvin to William Walter and Emma Susan (Holt) Dinwiddie.
He married Lillie "Dean" Saxon on Nov. 2, 1944 in Sebastian County, Ark. She preceded him in death on March 25, 1996. He lived in Seminole for 57 years after moving here from Calvin.
Dinwiddie worked as a pumper and roustabout in the oilfield, and retired in 1961 due to disability as the result of a work related auto accident.
Preceding him in death are his parents and wife.
Surviving him are three sons and two daughters-in-law, Walter "Butch" Dinwiddie and wife Paula of Indianola, Keith Dinwiddie and wife Dianne of Noble, and Carl Dinwiddie of Seminole; two daughters and a son-in-law, Gloria Troglin and her husband Harris of Bowlegs, and Wanda Guy of Margate, Fla.
Additional survivors include: grandchildren, Donna Quinalty, Nikki Hester, Lisa Vaughn, Eli Troglin, Rhonda Wallace, Travis Dinwiddie, Keith Dinwiddie Jr., Cheryl Chism, Sendie Rhymer, Sharla Mangan, Cassi Dinwiddie, Andria Dinwiddie, Walter "Bubba" Dinwiddie, Dakota Dinwiddie, and Emma Dinwiddie; 18 great-grandchildren; and special friend Donna Douthit of Seminole.
Interment will be 2 p.m. at Hilltop Cemetery in Calvin with pallbearers Travis Dinwiddie, Eli Troglin, Walter "Bubba" Dinwiddie II, Keith Dinwiddie Jr., Landal Wallace, and Stan Quinalty.
Eugene Dixon
Funeral services for Seminole County resident, Eugene "Gene" Douglas Dixon of Cromwell are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, May 14 at the Seminole Church of Christ with Chris Stinnett officiating.
Interment will follow at the Little Cemetery, north of Seminole, under the direction of the Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.
Dixon died Monday, May 10, 2004, at the age of 74 at Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
He was born Feb. 27, 1930, in Lorenzo, Texas to Greenleaf Dixon and Ila Lee (Jones).
He married Juanita R. (Seward) on Jan. 9, 1954 in Oklahoma City.
He lived in Oklahoma City for 25 years and later moved from Anadarko to Cromwell in 1975.
He was a self-employed accountant and retired in 2003.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War.
He was a member of the Seminole Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by one son, Charles on April 24, 1976; two sisters, Janie Lee McMillen in 1980 and Louise Lambert in 1997.
He is survived by one son, Goerge Dixon of Bartlesville; two daughters, Curta Jean "Jeannie" Mead of Moore and Loreta Byrd of Cromwell; one brother, Lloyd C. Dixon of Wichita, Kan.; one sister, Mae Dell Willhoit of Wichita Falls, Texas; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Casketbearers will be Vernon Mead, Robert Byrd, James Dixon, Sean Mead, Charles Byrd and Jim Sipes.
Honorary bearers will be Curtis Dixon, Wendell Fuller, Tom Dixon and Wesley McGee.
Michael Dodd
Graveside services will be held for former Seminole County resident, Michael Wayne Dodd will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 6 at the Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka.
Services are under direction of Fisher Funeral Home of Holdenville.
Pallbearers are Earl Ray Madden, Barry Don Madden, Johnny Freeman and Mike McMahan.
Dodd died Monday, May 3, 2004, at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City at the age of 45 years old.
He was born on Sept. 2, 1958, in Oklahoma City, the son of Dwayne and Norma (Ramsey) Dodd.
He was reared and attended schools in the Holdenville area.
He married Loretta Dotson in Wewoka on July 28, 1994.
Since their marriage, the couple has lived in the Holdenville/Wewoka area.
He worked in the oilfield for many years.
He was happiest spending time with his family, and loved playing guitar.
He is survived by his wife, Loretta, of the home; six children: Clay Dodd of Spaulding, Jeffery Dodd, Megan McMahan, Billy McMahan, Amy McMahan, all of the home, and Danny Gordon of Spaulding; his parents, Dwayne and Norma Dodd of Shawnee; his maternal grandfather, Ralph Ramsey of Eufaula; two brothers: Mark Dodd of Shawnee and Chris Dodd of Oklahoma City; and other relatives and many friends.
Patsie J. Doherty
Funeral services for Maud native Patsie J. Doherty are set for 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, at the Cooper Funeral Chapel in Tecumseh.
Hospice Chaplain Glen Pence will officiate the services.
Interment will follow at Cummings Cemetery in Maud under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
Doherty died Friday, Jan. 23, 2004 in Macomb, where she lived for the past 27 years.
She was born on Oct. 6, 1931, in Maud, to Frank Jackson Birdsell Sr. and Effie Mae (Burns) Birdsell.
Doherty was raised in the Maud area and attended Maud schools.
She married Melvin Doherty in March 1976, and was a homemaker. Her husband preceded her in death on Nov. 3, 2003.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Juanita Fleming; and two brothers, Avis Birdsell and James Ray Birdsell.
Doherty is survived by her daughter, Debbie Blain, Seminole; a son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Linda Blain of Enid; her sister, Anna Pelton, Shawnee; her brother, Frank Birdsell Jr., Shawnee; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Peggy Joyce Dollarhide
Graveside services for former Seminole resident Peggy Joyce Dollarhide were scheduled for 2 p.m. today at Highland Cemetery, Pawnee. Rev. Tom Scott was scheduled to officiate, under the direction of Poteet Funeral Home of Pawnee.
Dollarhide died Friday, Sept. 24, 2004, in Morrison. She was 65.
She was born May 5, 1939, in Bonham Texas to Geroge Mason and Opal Lemons Mason.
Dollarhide married James Dollarhide on Oct. 23, 1968, in Shawnee. They moved to Mulhall from Seminole and to Morrison in the late 1960s.
Her daughter Melinda Knott preceded Dollarhide in death on Oct. 28, 1968.
She is survived by her husband Jim of Morrison; six children, LeRoy Knott of Arcadia, Kan., Mike Knott, Danny Knott and Tony Knott all of Morrison, Lisa Moore and Eddie Dollarhide both of Stillwater; four sisters, Melba Gibbs of Mesquite, Texas, June Hume of Sulphur, Margaret Scott and Linda Barnes of Seminole; and two brothers, Wayne Mason of Tecumseh and Terry Mason of Seminole.
Kay Donaldson
Funeral services for longtime Seminole resident, Kay Donaldson are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 28 at the Church of Christ in Little with Rusty Dawson officiating.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.
Donaldson died Thursday, Feb. 26, 2004, at the age of 54 at Seminole Medical Center in Seminole.
She was born Aug. 14, 1949, in Seminole to Lloyd J. Lemmings and Mary (Drewery) Smith.
She was married to Carr Paul Donaldson on Aug. 11, 1971, in Seminole, who was a newspaper carrier for The Producer for 20 years.
She worked at Wrangler for 17 years and was a member of the Church of Christ at Little.
She was preceded in death by her husband Carr Paul, on May 31, 2001, and both sets of grandparents.
She is survived by her parents, Lloyd J. Lemmings of Oklahoma City and Mary (Drewery) Smith of Seminole; and one son, Jason Donaldson of Oklahoma City.
Donations may be made to the Little Church of Christ.
Oscar Allan Dorsett
Funeral services for Seminole resident Oscar Allan Dorsett are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dennis Yeubanks officiating.
Interment to follow service at Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Dorsett, 79, died Nov. 6, 2004 at Arlington Memorial Hospital in Arlington, Texas. He was born in Tulsa July 11, 1925 to Melvin and Mary Lafern (Reber) Dorsett.
He married Acelene Dorsett who preceded him in death on Oct. 12, 1982. He married Avis (Thrasher) Dorsett in 1986.
Dorsett moved to Seminole County at the age of two. He retired from the oilfields and worked for Mud and Chemical Company and Earl’s Tire Shop.
He was a veteran of the United States Army serving as private first class during World War II. Dorsett was a member of Highway Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He was also a member of the American Legion.
His parents preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife Avis of the home; two daughters, Susan Beck and Melissa Durkee, both of Bedford, Texas; two step-children, Vicky Haley of Shawnee and Don Thrasher of Watauga, Texas; brother Bud Dorsett of Seminole; two sisters, Carmeletta Hage of Mt. Vernon, Va. and Ivern Haigwood of Vallejo, Calif.; three grandchildren; step-grandchildren; and step great-grandchildren.
