Funeral services for former Seminole resident and teacher, Cathryn Faye Schellstede Doudican, Gulfport, Miss. are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, May 8 at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Gulfport, Miss. where friends may visit an hour before the service.
Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Gulfport, Miss. is in charge of arrangements.
Doudican was born August 6, 1935, in Oklahoma City to Emil and Agnes Schellstede.
She died May 1, 2004, after a battle with cancer.
She lived around the US during World War II, including Hollywood, Fl. and Pass Christian, Miss.
She graduated from Will Rogers High School in Tulsa, attended Tulsa University and graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Education.
She also did graduate work at East Central University in Ada.
She was a member of Chi Omega sorority, P.E.O., and Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Doudican taught English to many high school and junior high school students over 30 years in the Oklahoma schools.
Many of those years were in Seminole, where she raised a family for 19 years.
She also taught classes at the local libraries and community colleges on the Gulf Coast of Mississippi.
She was preceded in death by her parents Emil and Agnes Schellstede.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, John Anthony "Tony" Doudican of Pass Christian, Miss.; her brother William Schellstede of Alexandria, Va.; two children John Anthony "Jay" Doudican III of Edmond and Amy Cathryn Brock of Houston, Texas; and three grandchildren.

Avis Downing
Funeral services for former Seminole resident, Avis Genieve Downing are scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday Jan. 3 at Fairview Baptist Church in Shawnee with Rev. Wayne Taylor officiating.
Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Clark Funeral Home of Tishomingo.
Downing died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2003, at the age of 90 in Tishomingo.
She was born Dec. 9, 1913, in Keokuk Falls, the oldest of seven children born to Walter and Lena Mae Smith Brant.
Her father and family, members of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation, moved to his land allotment east of Shawnee when whe was one-year-old and the family grew cotton for a living.
She attended Canadian School as a child and graduated from Shawnee High School at age 16.
She attended the University of Oklahoma in Norman, where she received her teaching certificate at the age of 18.
Downing taught at Canadian School, as well as Garden Grove.
She married Leon C. Downing in Seminole on June 15, 1933.
She was a homemaker and was involved in the parent teacher association and was a Blue Bird leader.
Downing was a member of Fairview Baptist Church, east of Shawnee, and the First Baptist Church in Ringling where the family moved in 1960.
She taught vacation Bible school and was a Sunday school teacher for her ladies class for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon, in 1989; her son, Michael in 2003; Her parents; one brother, W. Ralph (J.R.) Brant and one sister, Billie Robinson.
She is survived by five children, Timothy Downing of Edgar, Mont., Deborah Jester of Russett, Damon Downing of Denton, Texas, Genilee Taylor of Maud and Brian Downing of Shawnee; sisters Vestana Neely of Shawnee, Naomi Ward of Houston, Texas, Walterene Scarborough of Arlington, Va. and Juanelle Beauford of Shawnee; 15 grandchildren, three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
Eileen Duff
Graveside services for Eileen Duff, 88, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Fairlawn Cemetery with Bob Vaught officiating. The services will be under the direction of Davis Funeral Home of Cushing.
Duff, a longtime Cushing resident died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004 in Shawnee. She was born Sept. 7, 1916 in Guthrie to Nelson and Myrtle Hathaway Jackson.
She married Ermal Duff June 5, 1937 in Stillwater. She was a longtime Cushing resident and graduate of Cushing High School.
Jackson was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church and had enjoyed music all of her life.
Her parents; husband; daughter Denise and one brother, Lynn Jackson preceded her in death.
Survivors include son, Terry Duff and his wife Susan of Shawnee; daughter, Leanne Marlin of Las Vegas, Nev.; four grandchildren, including Destry Duff and his wife Tara, Kelly Harbolt and Joseph Victory and his wife Kristy; seven great-grandchildren; and other relatives including a brother-in-law, Don Duff and his wife Marilyn and a nephew Mike Duff and his wife Brooke.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation in her memory and forms may be picked up in the office at the funeral home.
Bessie Earles
Graveside services for longtime Seminole resident, Bessie Hazel Earles are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, May 22 at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole, under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.
Earles died Wednesday, May 19, 2004, at the age of 88 at her home in Seminole.
She was born July 19, 1915, in Sallisaw to Homer C. Hammond and Addie (Sloan) Hammond.
She married James W. Earles who preceded her in death in 1993.
She was a retired waitress and cook and a longtime Seminole resident.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother, R.C. Hammond.
She is survived by one daughter, Shirley Logan of Drumright; three grandchildren, Debra Robison of Cushing, Robin Walls of Drumright and Brian Spurrier of Baton Rouge, La.; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Honorary casket bearers will be Brian Spurrier, Jason Robison, Justin Cross and Alvin Andrews.
Jannie Bell Earnest
Funeral services for Sasakwa resident Jannie Bell Earnest are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wesley Martin officiating.
Interment is to follow the service in Pauls Valley under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
Earnest, 85, died Jan. 3 in Oklahoma City. She was born July 28, 1918 in Pauls Valley to Frank and Evie White.
She was a 60 year resident of Sasakwa.
Her survivors include two sons, Furman Earnest of Moore and Warren Earnest of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Thelma and Esta Lee; a brother, Hershel; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Elva Opal Easter
Funeral services for Seminole resident Elva Opal (Byrd) Easter, 79, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Don Pruitt and C.A. Smith officiating.
Easter died Sept. 28, 2004 at her home and was born July 10, 1925 in Graham to Gilbert Dow and Ethel (Knutson) Byrd.
She married E.B. "Luke" Easter on June 24, 1949 in Wichita Falls, Texas and was a homemaker.
Easter was a Seminole resident off and on for 24 years and worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone for a few years. She was a member of Good Hope Road Church of Christ.
Her parents and two brothers preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband; son Jimmy Easter of Mannford; daughters Dianne Pruitt of Kabool, Mo., and Suzanne Hardin of Seminole; brother D.J. Byrd of Sulphur; three sisters Iba Jo Smith of Andrews, Texas, Barbara DeGeough of Clovis, Calif., and Mona Sue Elliott of Bakersfield, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.
Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Her casket bearers will be her grandsons, Justin Easter, Jeff Easter, Greg Pruitt, Rusty Hardin, Jason Smith, Dale Smith and Randall Smith.
Ellen Eberle
Funeral services for Seminole County resident, Ellen Olena (Brewer) Eberle, of Konawa are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, May 7 at the Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Chapel with Frank Brewer and Alberta Lerma officiating.
Interment will follow at the Vamoosa Cemetery under the direction of the Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.
Eberle died Tuesday, May 4, 2004, at the age of 78 at Valley View Regional Hospital in Ada.
She was born Sept. 13, 1925, in Konawa to William Homer Brewer and Ocie Ellen (Moore) Brewer.
She married Abe Eberle in 1956 in Arkansas.
Eberle was a cook at the Vamoosa Schools for over 12 years and having cooked for over 200 kids, she was known for her wonderful hot rolls and meatloaf.
She was known as a second mother to her siblings and she never missed a ball game.
She was of the Baptist faith.
She moved back to Konawa from California 29 years ago.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; husband, Abe Eberle on July 2, 1979; one sister, Laura Marie Downey; and two brothers; W.H. Brewer and Ben Brewer.
She is survived by her foster son Albert Lerma and wife, Linda of Santa Ana, Calif.; two brothers, R. C. Brewer of Sasakwa and Frank Brewer and wife, Gwen of Maud; three sisters, Lorene Cole of Shawnee, Dorothy Mullins of Ada and Mary Mosley of Fresno, Calif.; and three foster grandchildren, Vanessa, Amanda and Sarah Lerma of Santa Ana, Calif.
Casket bearers will be Jimmy Foran, David Brewer, Mark Brewer, Kenny Brewer, Ronald Mullins, Steve Mullins, Rex Downy, Homer Downy, Bruce Brewer, Doug Brewer, Mike Moseley, Randall Brewer, Ruben Brewer and Roger Brewer.
