Erma Jean Fair

Funeral services for Seminole County resident, Erma Jean Fair are scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21 at St. Joseph Baptist Church in Wewoka. with Rev. Larue Drinkwater, Redeemed Missionary Baptist Church.

Interment will follow at Westwood Cemetery in Wewoka under the direction of Myers Mortuary.

Fair died Friday, Jan. 16, 2004, at the age of 79 at her home in Wewoka.

She was born April 25, 1936, in Wewoka.

She was the fifth child born to A.J. and Callie Drinkwater

She lived in Wewoka all of her life, attended Douglas Grade School and graduated from Douglas High School.

She also attended nursing school in Ada where she received an associate’s degree.

She was employed at Boley Care Center for 15 years, Wetumka Nursing Home for five years and retired from Oakridge Nursing Home after 1 ½ years, when her health began to fail.

She joined St. Joseph Baptist Church in 1947, under the leadership of Rev. Dangerfield and was a member of the choir.

Her parents, A.J. and Callie Drinkwater; one brother, Billy; and one sister, Betty, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her daughters, Shari Drinkwater of Wewoka and Connie Murray of Oklahoma City; one brother, Rev. Larue Drinkwater of Oklahoma City; one sister, Marion Ford of Wagoner; three grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Zelpha Priscilla Fair

Memorial services for longtime Seminole resident are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, at the Swearingen Funeral Home, with the Rev. Gary Wilburn officiating.

Fair died Tuesday July 13, at Seminole Estates Nursing Home after 92 years of life.

She was born in April 1912, in Seminole to William and Willie (Gates) Reed.

Fair married Clarence William Best on in 1927, he preceded her in death in April of 1961. She remarried Authur Fair in 1975 who also preceded her in death in January of 1975.

She was a member if the First United Methodist Church in Seminole and served as secretary of the children’s Sunday School department, and was a member of the church chorus.

She was a Pink Lady at the Seminole Hospital and was employed with the Department of Health and Human Services as a social worker until her retirement after 14 years.

Fair was also preceded in death by her son Clarence "Bill" Best.

She is survived by her daughter, Joanne Englet of Houston Texas; her sisters, Jewel Kirk of Ada, Nelda Lanquement of Midwest City, five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Casket bearers include Daniel Morse, David Morse, Candace Weaver and Jarrod Weaver.

Velma Fallis

Funeral services for longtime Seminole County resident, Velma Lucille (Robertson) Fallis of Konawa are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29 at the Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Chapel with Rev. Hugh Willoby officiating.

Interment will follow at the Konawa City Cemetery under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home in Konawa.

Fallis died Sunday, Jan. 25, 2004, at the age of 92 at Ballard Nursing Center in Ada.

She was born May 19, 1911, in Sulphur Rock, Ark. to Ben Robertson and Cora (Hines) Robertson.

She married James Butler Fallis on Nov. 28, 1928, in Charlotte, Ark.

She was a Seminole County resident since 1937.

She was a homemaker and a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Konawa.

She was also a member of the UMW, the Willing Workers Sunday school class, as well as a 50 year member of the Extension Homemakers Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Fallis on Feb. 13, 1971; one son, William Paul Fallis on June 20, 1996; and one sister, Alma Clark in Jan. 2003.

She is survived by three sons, J.B. Fallis Jr. of Wichita, Kan., Robert Fallas of Konawa and Harold Fallis of Murietta, Calif.; two daughters, Marguerite Dye of Konawa and Martha Belle Barrett of Ada; one brother, James H. Robertson of Palm Harbor, Fla; one sister, Mae Clifft of Mountain Home, Ark.; 17 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren.

Serving as Casket Bearers will be Billy Fallis, Fred Fallis, Drew Fallis, Bryan Dye, Eric Dye and Damon Dye.

Honorary casket bearers are J.B. Fallis III, Robert Fallis Jr., Phillip Fallis and Scott Fallis.

Curtis Max Faulkenberry

Funeral services for former Bowlegs resident Curtis Max Faulkenberry were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 30 at carpenter Memorial Chapel in North Platte, Neb.

Interment was at Ft. McPherson national cemetery near Maxwell, Neb. with full military honors.

Faulkenberry, 63, of North Platte, Neb., died Nov. 26, 2004. He was born on May 20, 1941 in Bowlegs.

He lived in Bowlegs until the age of 15 at which time he moved to Edmond. Faulkenberry worked in the oil fields until October 1960 when he then enlisted in the United States Marine Corps.

Faulkenberry served in the Marine Corps for thirteen years, which included two tours of duty in Vietnam. After a medical discharge from the Marines in October 1973 he moved to North Platte.

In August 1967 he married Ann Wheeler in Houston, Texas. Following his active duty he worked as a manager at Skelly Service Station and Restaurant in Maxwell and then North Platte. He then worked for Armadillo Express for 10 years.

His hobbies include hunting and fishing. His parents and a brother precede him in death.

Survivors include a son, Donald Earl "Butch" Faulkenberry of Grand Forks, N.D.; a daughter, Jenny Denson of Broken Bow; and four grandchildren.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the North Platte Shriners, Broken Bow Hospice Program or to the Custer Care Center.

Marie Feese

Funeral services for Flossie Marie Feese were held at 2 p.m. March 6 in the Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel under the direction of Moore’s Memory Chapel of Tulsa.

She died Tuesday, March 2, 2004, at the age of 90 in Seminole.

She was born Dec. 14, 1913, in Boulder, Ill. to Chezem and Mattie (Dill) Chezem.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, John Feese.

She is survived by one son, Don Dean Sr.; one sister, Murle Swedberg; four grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Marie Feese

Seminole resident Marie Feese, 90, died early today at her home in Seminole Estates.

She moved to Seminole in 1999.

Family members said funeral services are tentatively set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Park Chapel in Tulsa.

Rev. Gary Pollard and Rev. Leroy Sewell will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park under the direction of Moore’s Funeral Home, Tulsa.

Brett Alan Fesler Sr.

Strother Graduate Dies in Accident

A Strother graduate died Thursday in Paden, in an electrical accident while working for Canadian Valley Electric.

Brett Alan Fesler Sr. was a construction crew chief for Canadian Valley Electric, where he had been employed for 26 years.

Services for Fesler were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 22 at the Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague with Rev. Keith Howard officiating.

Interment will follow at the Little Cemetery, north of Seminole, under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.

Fesler departed this life on Thursday, May 20, 2004, at the age of 45.

He was born Aug. 14, 1958, in Oklahoma City to William Paul and JoAnn (McCoin) Fesler, of Seminole.

He was married to Joy Kroos, and together they had three children.

He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping, and shared his love of nature with his friends and children.

He is survived by his parents, William and JoAnn Fesler of Seminole; two sons, Lucas Henry Fesler and Brett Alan Fesler Jr., both of Prague; one daughter, Jamie Ann Fesler of Prague; and two brothers, Bill and Glenda Fesler of Mustang and John Fesler of Denison, Texas.

Bertia Fitzgerald

Graveside services for former Seminole resident, Bertia Lee Fitzgerald, of Okmulgee, are scheduled for 4 p.m. Monday, June 28 at the Maple Grove Cemetery under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home.

Viewing will be from 1-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home located at 303 E. Seventh Street in Okmulgee.

Fitzgerald died Wednesday, June 23, 2004, at the age of 84 at the Cherry Creek Nursing Home in Wichita, Kan.

She was born May 4, 1920, in Walters to Lee Roy and Callie (Reese) Bright.

She married Daniel Edward Fitzgerald in Seminole, where they resided until 1957, moving to Okmulgee.

She retired from Ball Brother Glass Plant, was an active member of the Lioness Club and a volunteer at the Okmulgee Memorial Hospital.

Fitzgerald was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Due to her health, she moved to Wichita, Kan. ten years ago, where she resided until her death.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother, Jimmy Bright.

She is survived by her son, Jerry Fitzgerald of Oklahoma City; one daughter, Janice K. Houser of Kansas; three brothers, Melvin Bright of Missouri, Delvin Bright of Kansas and Curtis Bright of Arizona; one sister, Jo Gooden of Missouri; three grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Gladys Pearl Fitzgerald

Graveside services for Gladys Pearl Fitzgerald are scheduled for Wednesday Sept. 22, 2004, 10:30 a.m. at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, Seminole.

Sweraingen Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Fitzgerald died at home on Monday, September 20, 2004. She was 85.

She was born July 28, 1919 in Willow Springs, Mo. to Charles Albert Wood and Nora L. (Moore) Wood.

On Oct. 9, 1939, Fitzgerald married Albert R. Fitzgerald in Nowata. He preceded her in death on June 9, 2000.

Fitzgerald moved to Seminole 49 years ago from Oklahoma City.

She was co-owner, with her husband, of Al’s Radiator Service.

Fitzgerald attended the First Baptist Church and was active in the Friendship Sunday School Class.

She worked with the Scouts and was involved in children’s activities, specifically bowling and Jr. bowling.

Fitzgerald bowled for many years with her daughter and in a mixed league with her husband.

She was also involved with the PTA.

Fitzgerald was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Charles Wood; and grandson, Michael Fitzgerald.

She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Jan Fitzgerald of Ada; daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Fred Knoles or Seminole; brother and sister-in-law, Clyde and Rosalee Wood of Coffeyville; sister and brother-in-law, Jetta and R.V. Wagoner of Blackwell; four grandchildren, Lisa Fitzgerald, Bonnie Decker, Rebecca Azurdia and Candace Higdon; and five great grandchildren, Nolan and Conlan Decker, Adrian Azurdia, Jesse and Kathryn Higdon-Sands.

Donations can be made to the First Baptist Falls Creek Fund.
