Funeral services for longtime Seminole County resident, Helen "Pauline" Fulkerson, of Maud are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 28 at the Trinity Baptist Church with Revs. Carl Whitfield and Wayne Taylor officiating.
Interment will follow at Stroud Cemetery under the direction of the Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home of Maud.
Fulkerson died Monday, April 26, 2004, at the age of 90 at the Seminole Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 1, 1913, in Carrollton, Texas to Robert Frank Burton and Maye (Vinson) Burton.
She married Ervin "Buddy" Fulkerson on May 9, 1931, in Tecumseh.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Maud First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ervin Fulkerson on May 2, 1982; one daughter, Charolotte Frances Fulkerson; one sister, Martha Phipps; three sons-in-law, Frank Owens, Cliff Massie and Sammie Duncan; and two grandsons.
She is survived by four daughters and one son-in-law; Sue and Don Peters of Maud, Pat Owens and Barbara Massie of Stroud and Nancy Duncan of San Angelo, Texas; one brother, Jake Burton of Kerrville, Texas; one step-sister, Barbara Lofton of Bakersfield, Calif.; one sister-in-law, Imo Fulkerson of Stroud; 14 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
Casketbearers will be grandsons, Mike Peters, Tony Peters, Jeff Peters, Rick Owens, Randy Owens, Tim Massie, Lynn Duncan and James Lemley.
Honorary bearers will be Tom Massie, Buddy Owens, Jim Jones and Ted Phillips.
Irene Viola Gage
Graveside services for former Seminole resident Irene Viola Gage, 94, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday at Little Cemetery with Rev. Allen Wood and Winfred Lowe officiating.
The services will be under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Gage died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004 at Pauls Valley General Hospital. She was born March 12, 1910 to Robert Willard and Clara (McNamer) Booth in Oklahoma City.
She married Bryan Gage in 1958 in Chickasha and was a homemaker and member of the First Freewill Baptist Church in Wolf. She moved from Seminole to Pauls Valley in 2000.
Gage is preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and two sisters.
Her survivors include four sisters, Hazel Webb of Pauls Valley, Betty Hall of Houston, Texas, Billie Brackett of Midwest City and Marion Sweek of Del City.
William Edward Gaines
Graveside services for Maud resident William Edward "Willie" Gaines are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday, at the Cummings Cemetery of Maud, under the direction of Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home of Maud.
Rev. Wayne Taylor is set to officiate.
Gaines died Saturday, Sept. 25, 2004, at Pioneer Nursing Center in Seminole, at the age of 84.
He was born March 25, 1920, in Sasakwa, to Sidney Bert Gaines and Lillie Mae (Ewell) Gaines.
On March 2, 1946, he married Grace L. (Renfro) Gaines in Carson City, Nevada, and served over 10 years in the United States Army, serving in World War II as a first sergeant.
Gaines moved back to Maud 45 years ago, from Stockton, Calif.
He retired from Tinker Air Force Base in 1975.
He attended the Church of Christ in Maud.
Gaines was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and one sister.
He is survived by his wife, of the home; a daughter, Doris Jean Ditter, of Salem, Ore.; two sons: Larry Edward Gaines, Tecumseh, and Terry Lee Gaines, Horn Lake, Miss.; one brother, Sidney Bert Gaines Jr., Stockton, Calif.; three sisters: Nadine Murphy, Jewell Baker, both of Stockton, Calif., and Fay Nell Tyler of Laurel, Md.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The casket will remain open until service time, and will not be reopened following the service.
Sharon Galyon
Funeral services for Sharon Kay Galyon are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, April 5 at the Forest Hills Christian Church with interment at the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Mercer-Adams Funeral home of Bethany.
She died Wednesday, March 31, 2004, at the age of 52.
She was born Oct. 21, 1951, in Shawnee to Baxter and Maddie (Robertson) Hopper.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jason Galyon and one brother, Edward "Hoppy" Hopper.
She is survived by her husband, J. Brent Galyon of the home; her son, Paul Galyon and wife, Shelley of Mustang; one sister, Jean LeCompte and husband, Oren of Shawnee; and two grandchildren, Brent and Laken.
Max Lee Gammons
Services for Sasakwa High School graduate Max Lee Gammons were held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Waldrop Funeral Chapel in Wilburton.
Burial followed at the Wilburton Memorial Garden Cemetery. Randy Waldrop was scheduled to officiate. Services were under the direction of Waldrop Funeral Home in Wilburton.
Gammons died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004, in Stigler at the age of 60.
He was born Dec. 5, 1944, in Wewoka to Roy and Bernetta Gammons.
Gammons graduated from Sasakwa High School in May 1962.
He married Janice Ailshie in July 1964, and they had one son, Mitchell Lee Gammons, who was born Aug. 4, 1972.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War as an automotive repairman, working mainly on tanks.
After serving four years of inactive duty, Gammons was released from duty on Aug. 29, 1972.
Gammons lived in Sasakwa for a brief time before moving to Ft. Smith, Ark., where he worked Nolen Tool Company for many years.
While he was working for Nolen Tool, he moved to the Spiro area where he lived for many years. He later moved to N.E. of Keota where he lived until the time of his death.
Gammons is survived by his son, Mitchell Lee Gammons of Sugar Land, Texas; four sisters, Eunice Smith of Frisco, Texas, Lois Boyce of Tulsa, Wanda Shores of Ada and Audrey Jones of Sasakwa; and three brothers, Deray Gammons of Wilburton, James Gammons of Sasakwa and John Gammons of Shawnee.
Ronald Gandy
Services for Ronald Neal Gandy of Ada, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church, with the Revs. John Haynes and Roy Robertson officiating.
Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the Criswell Funeral Home of Ada.
Gandy died Thursday, April 22, 2004, at the age of 22 at a local hospital.
He was born Nov. 4, 1981, to Rob and Kathy Neal Gandy.
He lived in this area all his life, attended Ada schools and East Central University.
He was active in band and drama at Ada schools, East Central University and the First Baptist Church, Ada.
Gandy was a member of the Bowlegs First Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include his parents, Rob and Kathy Gandy, of the home; two brothers, D. J. Gandy, of the home and Ken Gandy and wife Johnnie of Ada; one sister, Kathleen Thomas and husband Bryan of Moore; his fiance, Shayla Robertson, and her family of Seminole; his grandfather, C. Wayne Neal of Oklahoma City; three nieces and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Rusty Gandy on Nov. 6, 2003.
Bearers will be Tom Greenfield, DeWayne Davis, Dr. Charles Mettry, Bill Adams, Dr. Jack Medlock and Chris Palmer.
Honorary bearers are Alumni, students and parents of East Central University-Baptist Student Union, Ada; Churches and office staff of Banner Baptist Association; Medical and office staff of Valley View Regional Hospital, Ada; Employees of Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma; Employees of Ada Schools, past and present; and the East Central University Band

Donald Garfoot
Seminole resident, Donald Kenneth Garfoot died June 9, 2004, at the age of 74 at Pioneer Nursing Home in Seminle.
He was born July 25, 1929, in Buffalo, N.Y. to Eunice and Walter Garfoot.
He began serving in the armed forces at the age of 16, as a United States Merchant Marine.
He was also a oiler machinist and a pumman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eunice and Walter Garfoot.
He is survived by his son, Jack Garfoot; two daughters, Robin Squires of California and Jill Rachiel of Oregon; and six grandchildren.
There are no funeral services planned for Garfoot at this time.
Ralph Garrett
Funeral services for longtime Seminole County resident, Ralph C. Garrett are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 31 at the First Baptist Church of Maud with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating.
Interment will follow at the Cummings Cemetery in Maud, with full Military Honors under the direction of the Knight Swearingen Funeral Home of Maud.
Garrett died Sunday, March 28, 2004, at the age of 85 in Kingston.
He was born May 23, 1918, in Enid to Vernon William Garrett and Vena (Postier) Garrett.
He was married to Rowena M. (Richardson) Garrett on Sept. 19, 1939, in Caldwell Kan.
He was a longtime Maud resident and had served in the National Guard.
He also served in the U.S. Army during World War II, during the "Battle of the Bulge’ and assisted during the Airlift in Berlin.
While he was in the military, he was a flight line supervisor and received several commendations for keeping the aircraft in top shape.
Following his time in the Army, he enlisted in the Air Force and served until retirement.
After his retirement, he worked for the United States Postal Service, retiring in the early 1980’s.
He was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Maud.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Rowena on June 17, 2001; one sister and two brothers.
He is survived by one daughter, Vicki Rae Seeney of Kingston; two sons, Vernon G. Garrett of Boise, Idaho and Jack C. Garrett of Yukon; one sister, Thelma Johnson of Enid; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
