SOLDOTNA, Alaska -- Funeral services for Donald Ray Gattenby are scheduled for 5 p.m. Monday at the Masonic Temple under the direction of Peninsula Memorial Chapel.
Gattenby died Saturday, July 17, 2004, at his home in Soldonta. at the age of 56.
He was born on May 20, 1948 in Ada.
He was reared in California and moved to Alaska in1968.
He lived in Soldotna and Homer and worked in the oilfield as a mechanic, welder, craftsman and a fisherman all around the Kenai Peninsula.
He was a Christian, and did prospecting and goldmining, and collected hearts.
"Donald was a man of many talents, " his family wrote.
"Filled with love for life, family and friends, he was always willing to help."
Gattenby is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Lee Gattenby; father, D. G. "Buck" Gattenby; brothers, Delbert and David Gattenby; sisters Dorothy Leach and Diana Allmon.
He is survived by his son, Shelby Don Gattenby of Dodge City, Kans.; daughters, Gretchen Rae Kelly of Konawa, and Anne Lorraine Gattenby of Alameda, Calif.; two grandchildren of Konawa; sister, Doris Gattenby of Kenai; brother, David Allmon; and former spouse, Phyllis Gattenby of Dodge City, Kan.
The family requests memorial contributions be sent to the family in care of Doris Gattenby, 47515 Ciechanski, Kenai, Alaska, 99611.
Steven Paul Gentry
Funeral services for Seminole resident Steven Paul Gentry are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at the Holdenville Pentecostal Holiness Church. Reverend Rick Madron and Reverend Jerry Osborne will officiate.
Burial is set to follow at Yeager Cemetery under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.
Gentry died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004, at his home in Seminole. He was 46.
He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, Nov. 17, 1958, to Robert Paul and Sandra Gentry.
He later moved to Oklahoma where his parents of Holdenville survive him.
He is also survived by his wife, Denise Peters Gentry of the home; five daughters, LaDale Peters, Sherry and Misty Gentry, all of the home, Melissa Gentry of Oklahoma City and Maryanne Gentry of Holdenville; one son, Eric Gentry of Oregon.
Gentry is further survived by three sisters, Debbie Draper of Midvale, Utah, Geralyn Agguirre of Holdenville and Cheryl Cagle of Wewoka; one brother, Kevin Gentry of Taft.
Pallbearers will be Stephen Lemmings, Donnie Lamb, Shane Craig, Jason Grizzle, Mark Gentry, Billy Climer, Billy Dyer and Jordon Cagle. Honorary pallbearers are Dirl Merriman, Robert Merriman, Joe Taylor and Kevin Merriman.
Dedrick ‘Worm’ George Jr.
Funeral services for Seminole resident, Dedrick Isaac "Worm" George Jr. are scheduled for 4 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Jack Ryan officiating.
Burial will take place at Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colo.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.
George died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2004, at the age of 61 at his home, south of Seminole.
He was born Aug. 4, 1942, in Lexington, S.C. to Isaac George.
He moved to Seminole just over a year ago from Kentucky.
He was a truck driver and had served in the United States Marine Corps from June 15, 1960 until July 4, 1966 as Pfc.
He was a member of the East Central Chapter of BACA (Bikers Against Child Abuse).
He is survived by his companion, Diana Bolder of the home, and two sons, Dean Noah of Denver, Colo. and Gary George of Louisiana.
Casket bearers will be Carl Galbraith, Scott Lawson, Mike Shaw, John Gore, Bob Marsh and Don Pierce.
Becky Jo George
Funeral services for Konawa resident Becky Jo George, 48, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Chapel.
Evangelist Richard Phillips will officiate. Burial will follow in Vista Cemetery under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home.
A wake service was set for 6:30 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
George died Saturday, Aug. 28, 2004, at her home in Konawa.
She was born May 31, 1956. She attended Bowlegs and Konawa public schools.
She married Bobby Ray George and was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Konawa.
She was preceded in death by her father, Bill Stephens, and the grandmother who raised her, Lovdie Stephens.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; her stepmother, JoAnn Pruitt, Ada; one son, Jerick Gharkhania, Konawa; one daughter, Jancy Lyons, Choctaw; two stepchildren, Michael George of Tahlequah and Renee Billie, Ada; three brothers, Paul Stephens, Ada, James Sanders and John Sanders, both of Texas; one grandson and eight stepgrandchildren.
Pallbearers include James George, Mark Porter, Keith Billie, Ed George, Scott Johnson and Bobby Hudson.
Honorary pallbearers will include Billy, Jerry and Larry Sellars.
Caden James Gibbs
Services for Caden James Gibbs, infant son of Seminole residents Anne Evans and Scotty Gibbs, are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Swearingen Funeral Chapel. Chaplain Larry Sparks will officiate.
Interment is scheduled to follow at the Little Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by the Swearingen Funeral Home.
Gibbs was born and died Saturday, Oct. 2, 2004.
Gibbs was preceded in death by his great grandparents James and Maureen Vanarsdale, Melvin Swanson Sr., Warren Rich, and Bill and Bernice French.
Gibbs is survived by his parents; one brother, Logan; one sister, Madison; grandparents Mary and Joe French, Jacky and Gary Griffin, all of Seminole, and Melvin Swanson Jr. of Central City, Neb.; and great grandparents Sally Rich, Darlene and Marvin Griffin, all of Seminole, and Shelba Swanson of Central City, Neb.
Pallbearers will be Bobby North, Jon Strunk, Chris Rauch and T.J. Lynch.
Funeral services for Mrs. Ida Agnes Gille, 96, life-long Holdenville resident, will be held Friday, June 18, 2004, at 2:00 P.M., in the Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, Holdenville. Mrs. Gille passed away Wednesday, June 16, at Heritage Village Retirement Home. Interment will be in Wetumka Cemetery under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home, Wewoka.
Mrs. Gille was born November 3, 1907, in Holdenville, Indian Territory, to Mary Jane and Matthew Embach, a pioneer family from Holdenville. She married John Paul Gille, in Wetumka in 1926. Soon after, they opened their first flower shop in the Keystone Hotel and later moved to the South Echo location where they were in business forty years.
After retirement, she became an accomplished artist and was one of the original eight members of the Holdenville Society of Painters and Sculptors. She was a member of the Iris Garden Club, Barnard Memorial Methodist Church, and an avid bridge player. She spent her last years at the Heritage Village Assisted Living Facility.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Gille, in 1981, her parents; brothers James Embach, William Embach, and Phillip Embach, and sister Marguerite Whitlock.

Pheba Gillespie
Funeral services for longtime Seminole resident Pheba (Kane) Gillespie are scheduled for 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Temple of Praise with Rev. Harold Turner officiating.
Interment will be at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home. Pallbearers for the services will be her sons and grandsons.
Gillespie, 78, died Sept. 25, 2004, at Shawnee Medical Center. She was born on Oct. 15, 1925, in Drumright to Frank and Goldie (Stifler) Kane.
She married Oscar Gillespie on Aug. 10, 1944, in Seminole and worked as a LPN for Pioneer Nursing Home for over 30 years before retiring.
Gillespie was a longtime Christian and she organized Christmas programs for family and friends. She will be missed but the family hopes to carry on this tradition.
Preceding her in death are her parents; two brothers, Frank and Jeff Kane; and granddaughter Jennifer Gillespie.
Surviving her are her husband; sons and daughter-in-laws, Lewis James and Norma Gillespie of Wewoka, Edward "Buz" and Charlette Gillespie, Bill and Annie Gillespie, all of Seminole; daughters and son-in-laws, Auttis and Charles Johnson of Seminole, Barbara and Danny Harris of Springhill, Fla.; and sister Ruby Harris of Springhill, Fla.
Additional survivors are 11 grandchildren, Scarlette McCoy, Cassandra Humble, Clay Gillespie, Robert Johnson, Billy Johnson, James Johnson, Travis Gillespie, Dana Brooke, Erin Gillespie, Kristi Reed, Karri Meadows; and nine great-grandchildren.
Bobby Lee Goforth
Funeral services for Seminole resident Bobby Lee Goforth are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Cal Hunter is set to officiate.
Interment will follow at Little Cemetery. Swearingen Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Goforth died Monday, Dec. 27, 2004, at Oklahoma Heart Hospital at the age of 70.
He was born in Prague to Fred Goforth and Edna (Woodruff) Goforth on June 16, 1934.
On March 24, 1956, he married Rosa (Birkicht) Goforth, in Seminole.
Goforth worked as a surveyor for Oklahoma’s State Highway Department for 32 years and retired in 1988.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a specialist fourth class.
Goforth was a member of the Highway Baptist Church and the Oklahoma Society of Land Surveyors.
He loved to go to the lake and ride four-wheelers with his grandchildren and loved his family.
Goforth was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Eugene and J.C. Goforth; and an infant daughter, Tammy Goforth.
He is survived by his wife, Rosa Goforth of the home; two daughters and son-in-law, Gay and James Vaughn of Konawa and Karen Colburn of Seminole; two brothers, Bill Goforth of Prague and Charles Goforth of Seminole; and one sister, Doris Novotny of Shawnee.
Goforth is further survived by five grandchildren, Jamie and Waymon Scott, Chad Vaughn, Chalin Vaughn, Ryan Colburn and Maraela Colburn; and two great-grandchildren, Raegan and Jaley Scott.
Casket bearers are scheduled to be Harvey Hester, Robert Foxx, Harold Parsons, Ron Nichols, Dennis Birkicht and Buster Sala.
