Graveside services for former Seminole resident Joseph Newton "J.N." Harber Jr. were scheduled for Friday at 2 p.m. in Nowata.
Harber died July 18, 2004, in Janesville, Wis., at the age of 75.
Harber was born in Harber Hospital in Seminole, on Feb. 18, 1929, to J.N. and Meddie Harber.
He graduated Seminole High School in 1947, and then graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University in 1952. Later in the 1950s, Harber received his master’s degree from Baylor University.
He went on to be a clinical psychiatrist, operating in private practice, before retiring.
Harber was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Bill Harber; and his wife, Maxine Harber.
He is survived by a brother, Robert Harber, of Seminole; a sister, Ella Ruth Porter, of Duncan; and a daughter, Valerie Harber, of Wisconsin.
Pauline Hardin
Pauline Hardin died Tuesday, August 10, 2004. She was 64.
Hardin was born in Bengal, Okla., to Mr. Lester B. Mings and Mrs. Pearl Mings.
She was a life long resident of OKC and Maud.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Dot Ward.
She is survived by her husband, Auze Thomas Hardin of Maud; daughters Patty and Milton Risher of Satsuma, Ala., Pamela and David Dugger of Corinth, Texas, and Delores Sifford and Johnny of Morris; sons John and Sherry Hardin of Denton, Texas, Tony and Debbie Hardin of Maud, Michael Hardin of Maud, and Danny Hardin of Tecumseh.
Other survivors include brother, L.B. Mings; sisters Imogene Veach, Mary Frair, Dorene Henry and Linda Dawson; thirteen Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Fri., August 13, 2004 at Resthaven Funeral Chapel, Shawnee.
Albert Harjo
Albert Lee Harjo, a Wolf resident, passed away in his Wolf home on Saturday, Oct. 2, 2004, at the age of 81.
He was born on Aug. 7, 1923, in Sasakwa, to Joe and Minnie (Davis) Harjo.
He was reared in the Sasakwa area, attending school at Sasakwa Public Schools and Bacome College in Muskogee.
Harjo married Vera Mae Factor on April 12, 1944 in Wewoka.
Albert served in World War II, Company "M" 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Division.
After serving in the U.S. Army, he began employment with Oklahoma Gas and Electric (OG&E), working there for 38 years until his retirement in 1984, due to his health.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Irene Coody and Edna Taylor; and one brother, Jimpsey Harjo.
Harjo is survived by his wife of the home; special niece whom he raised as a daughter, Denise Jesse of Konawa; great-nieces, Kaylee Fixico of Konawa and Crissy Jarrell of Racine, Wis.; three brothers, Jessie Harjo of Arkansas City, Kan., Eugene Harjo of Sasakwa, and Jimmy Joe Harjo of Konawa; one aunt, Cora Davis Harjo of Sasakwa; two sisters-in-law, Betty Jesse of Wolf and Francina Johnson of Seminole; two brothers-in-law, Ed Factor of Wolf and Timmy Factor Jr. of Shawnee; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Wake services are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 4, at the Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Wewoka. The body will be taken to Spring Baptist Church on Tuesday, Oct. 5 at 10 a.m. and the funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Rev. Frank Moppin and Rev. Billy Joe Harjo will officiate the services.
Interment will follow at the Wolf Cemetery in Wolf, under the directions of the Stout-Phillips Funeral Home of Wewoka.
Pallbearers will be Dale Jesse, Rodney Factor, Rick Davis, Junior Coody, Herman Coody, and Randy Coody.
Honorary pallbearers will be Lee Puntka, Richard Harjo, Tommy Dale Jesse, Todd Jesse, and Bill Warden.
Donald Harjo
Funeral services for Donald Ray Harjo, 50, of Konawa, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at High Springs Baptist Church.
Rev. Houston Tiger will officiate. Burial will follow in Cosar Cemetery under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home.
Wake services are planned for 7 p.m. both tonight and Wednesday at the church.
Harjo died Sunday, Aug. 29, 2004, at his residence.
He was born Sept.22, 1953, in Shawnee, to Bobby and Willie May (Harjo) Thomas.
He worked in the oilfield and as a handyman and was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church.
He married Rosie Lee Cosar on Dec. 29, 1984, in Konawa. She survives him, of the home.
Other survivors include two sons, Keith Billie and Shawn Gibson; five daughters, Becky Pemberton, Wanda Coody, Tonya Chapman, Regina Bowlegs and Tisha Farmer; one sister, Paula Griffin; 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Newman Harjo
Newman Harjo, 64, Bowlegs resident, died Friday, July 16, 2004, at Pioneer Nursing Home in Seminole.
Funeral services were Tuesday at the Sand Creek Eufaula Baptist Church, in Wewoka, with Rev. Houston Tiger and Rev. Dorsey Nero, officiating.
Interment was in the Harjo Family Cemetery.
Wake services will be held at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel and at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Sand Creek Eufaula Baptist Church.
Harjo was born Nov. 26, 1939, to Marie (Powell) Tiger and Turner Harjo, and was raised by Lina Powell Harjo.
He attended the Jones Academy in Hartshorne.
He was a Baker and was employed by the Brocks Candy Factory in Oklahoma City.
He was a member of the Sand Creek Eufaula Church for many years.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Newman Harjo Jr., one daughter; Delia Kay Harjo and one brother, John Harjo.
He is survived by seven children: Tony Harjo, Oklahoma City; Javon Harjo, Oklahoma City; Steven Harjo, Wetumka; Bruce Harjo, Wetumka; Paula Ortiz, Oklahoma City; Wanda Carrillo, Oklahoma City; and Ursurla Harjo, of Dallas, TX; the mother of his children, Mary Ann Larney; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; five brothers, Andrew Harjo, Seminole; Leo Tiger, Seminole, George Harjo, Oklahoma City; Richard Harjo, Seminole; and Jimmy Dean Harjo, Sr., Seminole; four sisters, Betty Tanyan, Sylvia Harjo, Donna Renton, all of Seminole; and Ramona Wolf, Holdenville.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Carrillo, William Snyder, Jr., Sammy Wheeler, Jr., Thomas Jones, Jr., Mark Harjo, and Robbie Wolf.
Honorary bearers will be Kirk Fye, Tom Jones, Sr., and Jimmy D. Harjo, Sr.
Stella Mae Harjo
Funeral services for mother of Wewoka resident Donna Harjo, Stella Mae Harjo, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at the Many Springs Baptist Church, Revs. Jimmy Anderson and Houston Tiger officiating.
Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home is handling services.
Harjo died on Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2004, in the Oklahoma Heart Hospital. She was 71.
Harjo was born to Sarney and Emma (Bruner) George on March 1, 1933, in Hughes County.
The Rev. Arthur J. Bruner baptized her on June 4, 1943, at the age of 10.
She married Clemmie Harjo on Sept. 16, 1950, where they have made their home in Hughes County for 54 years.
Harjo sewed and crocheted many gifts for people.
Her parents; and two brothers, Benny and William George, preceded her in death.
Harjo is survived by her husband of the home; four sons, Vincent, Clemmie "Jr.", Tommy and Virgil Harjo, all of Holdenville; one daughter, Donna Harjo of Wewoka; two brothers, Henry Factor and Mose George; and four sisters, Nora Tiger, Liza Davis, Mary Lee Felicioni, all of Holdenville and Nellie Baldwin of Wetumka.
Pallbearers are scheduled to be Clemmie and William George, Victor Tiger, Stanley Factor, Cary and Dean Goforth.
Honorary pallbearers are Ronnie, Gregory, Rick and Gabe George, Chris Goforth, Glenn Isham, Brian and Christopher Factor, Leon McPerryman and Leo Fish Jr.
Tammy Harjo
Funeral services Tammy Elizabeth Harjo, are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 12 at the Many Springs Baptist Church in Holdenville with Revs. Tom Bear, Frank Moppin and Billy Joe Harjo officiating.
Services are under the direction of the Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville.
Harjo died March 9, 2004, at Carl Albert Hospital in Ada at the age of 28.
She was born September 25, 1975, in Shawnee to Cheparney and Patsy Lowe Harjo.
She lived around the Holdenville area all her life and graduated from Holdenville High School in May of 1994.
Harjo held the President position in the HOSA Club at Wes Watkins Technology Center where she was enrolled in the Medical Office Technology Program.
She worked as a Nurse’s Aid at Heritage Village Nursing Center for several years.
Her hobbies were caring for her children and playing softball and always had a good time and enjoyed laughing.
Harjo was a member of Many Springs Baptist Church in Holdenville.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Rev. Howard and Edna Lowe, and Amos and Liza Harjo; one sister, Vanessa Starr; one aunt, Anna Mae Bland; one uncle, Vernon Harjo; and mother-in-law, Virginia Larney.
Harjo is survived by her husband, Charles "Chuck" Larney of the home; her children, Desmond Larney, Zaydian Larney and newborn infant, Adonis Larney, all of the home; parents, Patsy and Cheparney Harjo of the home; sisters, Joyce Watson, Susan Harjo and Terri Harjo, all of Holdenville, and Charlene Lawrence of Jacksonville, N.C.; Susie Harjo Clifft of Wewoka, aunts, Polly Ann Harjo of Seminole, Mary Lou Harjo and Tena Harjo of Oklahoma City, Alice Lowe, Pat Lowe, Christine Lovejoy and LaRue Martin, all of Holdenville, Susan Barnett of Okmulgee, Jennie McDuff of Kendell, Texas, Noretta Bass of Texas, Bonnie Mae Smith of Cleveland, Bernice Alexander of Glenpool; uncles, Herman Harjo of Holdenville and James; and other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Dylan Isaiah Harjo
Funeral services for the infant son of Thomas Harjo and Andrea Little are to held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Green Leaf Missionary Baptist Church in Okemah.
Dylan Isaiah Harjo was born and died Sept. 1, 2004 at Carl Albert Indian Health Facility in Ada.
Rev. Billy Coon will officiate and pallbearers are Mark Little and Glen Harjo. Honorary bearers are Dave Little, Thomas Little, Edward Little, Edward Harjo, and Tommy Frank.
He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Cindy Harjo; great-grandparents, Cora Lowe; and Buster and Millie Little.
His survivors include his parents; sisters, Felicia and Alicia Harjo; brothers, Zachary and John Harjo, all of the home; grandparents, Newman Harjo of Holdenville, and Harvey and Wanda Little of Cromwell.
