Funeral services for former Shawnee resident Raymond M. Harjo, 84, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Cedar Creek Eufaula Indian Baptist Church in Konawa.
The family will be receiving friends and relatives Fri. from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the Lawrence Funeral Home in Lawrence, Kan. A Drum service will be at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday at the Resthaven Funeral Home in Shawnee.
Harjo died July 29, 2004 in Lawrence where he had been living. He was born Feb. 12, 1920 in Maud to Sumpsey K. and Retta Davis Harjo.
He retired after 30 years of federal civil service at Tinker Air Force Base. He worked as a production control specialist in industrial engineering.
Harjo attended Oklahoma City University for three years before entering into active duty in the U.S. Army Air Force during WWII, serving from 1942 to 1945. He also served in the U.S. Air Force reserves during the Korean Conflict from 1950 to 1953.
He is a member of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma. His Indian name is LMHV’HA’CO meaning "Crazy Eagle". He earned this name by virtue of his heroism, courage, and stamina while defending his country.
Harjo’s survivors include his brother’s children whom he became a father to. They are; daughter Sharyn McGirt Chino of Lawrence, Kan., four sons, George Lindsay McGirt of OKC, Robert Lee McGirt, Dean McGirt, Dale McGirt, and Cecil Rae McGirt, all of Shawnee.
Other survivors include sister Juanita Harjo Noon, Shawnee and brother Sampsey K. Harjo of Moore, two grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Burial will be at the Harjo Family Cemetery in Konawa. Memorials may be made to Douglas County Hospice in care of Lawrence Funeral Chapel, 3821 W. Sixth Street, Lawrence, Kan. 66049.
Cliff Harris
Funeral services for Clifford Lee Harris of Seminole are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel.
Rev. Fred Morrison and Jimmy Moreland will officiate.
Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Harris died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2004, at Seminole Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 7, 1965, in Wewoka, to O.D. and Mary Lou (Hopkins) Harris. He lived in Seminole County all his life.
He worked at several area nursing homes and as a pressman for The Seminole Producer.
He was a member of Lord’s Community Church.
He married Darla M. Moore on Oct. 21, 1991, in Seminole; she survives him, of the home.
Other survivors include his mother, Mary Lou Harris of Seminole; one son, Beau Lindsey, Shawnee; two daughters and a son-in-law, Tonya and Marshall Dillon, and Wynter Lindsey, all of Seminole; and three grandchildren, Matthew and Stefanye Dillon and Eric Smith.
He was also survived by a close friend, Chester Phillips, and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Harris was preceded in death by his father, O.D. Harris; and by his grandparents, Floyd and Lillie Harris and Audrey and Maggie Hopkins.
Pallbearers will include David Lucas, Tony O’Brien, Chet Phillips, Jerry Childers, Larry James and Terry James.
Honorary casketbearers are William Shuler, J.C. Simpkins, Thomas Lindsey, Mark Anderson and Steven Files.
Juanita Lavell Harris
Services for Juanita Lavell Harris, of Wewoka, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Free Will Baptist Church in Wewoka, Rev. Lewis Cox officiating.
Stout-Phillips Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Harris died Saturday, Sept. 25, 2004, at the Seminole Medical Center. She was 81.
Harris was born in Coalgate on April 3, 1923, to James Oscar and Martha Hendrix Linton.
Harris grew up in the Non and Coalgate area and attended school at Gerty.
She married James Harris Aug. 20, 1957.
Harris worked for a number of years at Holdenville General Hospital.
She also worked with her husband at Harris Electric.
Harris was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church of Wewoka.
Harris was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by her husband of Wewoka; daughter Sherry Wadlow of Wewoka; son Richard Harris of Midwest City; and sister Wilma Ellis of Memphis, Tenn.
Pallbearers for Harris are Fred Poe, John Linton, John Wellington, J.D. Wellington, J.W. Thornton, Floyd Wellington, Donnie Shaffer, and Rocky Harris.
Charles E. Harrison
Graveside services for Wewoka resident Charles E. Harrison are set for 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26, at Yeager Cemetery in Hughes County, under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home of Wewoka.
Anthony Wood will officiate the service.
Harrison died on Jan. 22, 2004, at the Seminole Medical Center, at the age of 84.
He was born on Jan. 8, 1920 in Pecan Grove, to William and Fannie Mae (Freeman) Harrison, and attended Pecan Grove Schools.
On June 27, 1962, he married Ethel Gertrude Harrison in Ada.
He was a veteran of World War II and later retired from farm labor.
He had lived in Wewoka since 1985.
Harrison was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, five sisters and two brothers.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Wilbanks Harrison
Funeral services for Wewoka resident Wilbanks Harrison will be at 11 a.m. on Mon. at the Methodist Church of Wewoka. Services are under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home in Wewoka.
Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Dr. John May will be officiating the service.
Harrison, 84, died at McAlester Regional Hospital on Aug. 20, 2004. He was born on Oct. 24, 1919 in a log cabin on Salt Creek in southern Seminole County.
He graduated from Sasakwa High School in 1939 and attended Oklahoma State University and East Central University, where he played baseball.
He married Marydale Swoveland in 1941. Harrison served in the U.S. Army as a self-defense instructor during World War II and with the 45th in Korea.
Harrison worked for the U.S. Postal Service before opening Harrison Insurance Company in Wewoka.
He was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of the First United Methodist Church, and served many years as president of the Wewoka Chamber of Commerce.
As an avid sports fan he announced Wewoka High School football games for KWSH radio. He loved the game of golf and had served for many years on the Pokkecetu Golf Tournament committee.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years; his two parents; two brothers, Lotus and T.G. Harrison; and a sister-in-law, Edra June Harrison.
His survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Bailey W. and Karen Harrison of McAlester; three grandsons, Michael, Tom, and John Harrison of McAlester; a niece and her family, Debbie McElheney of Wakefield, Kan.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The pallbearers will be Dr. F.E. Smith, Jimmie Bigham, Gary VanLaningham, Vic Kennemer, Al Beavers, and Terry Mantooth.
Honorary pallbearers are Randy Chaney, Fred Lacquement, Bob Patterson, Phil Brown, Eddie Colbert, James Harrod, J.M. Windel, and the members of the Wewoka Golf Association.

Mary Ann Hart
Funeral services for Wewoka resident Mary Ann Hart are scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday at Macedonia Baptist Church in Wewoka. Rev. L. R. Drinkwater of Redeemed Missionary Baptist Church in Oklahoma City will officiate.
Burial is set to follow at Westwood Cemetery in Wewoka. Arrangements are being handled by Myers Mortuary.
Hart died Saturday Dec. 25, 2004, at Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City. She was 75.
Born to Wister West, Sr. and Nora (Daniels) West on Oct. 20, 1929, in Wetumka, she was a resident of Seminole County most of her life.
Hart attended grade school at Wisner School in Wetumka and graduated from Douglass High School in Wewoka in 1948.
She then attended Langston University for two years studying business administration.
Hart later went to Bertha’s Beauty College and received her license in cosmetology.
For 36 years, Hart ran her own beauty shop, Mary’s Beauty Shop, in Wewoka, was a member of the Oklahoma Beauty Culture League and the Oklahoma Cosmetology Association.
She also worked at Oakridge Nursing Home as a janitorial supervisor, until her health began to fail.
Hart joined St. Paul Baptist Church and later moved her membership to Macedonia Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and one sister.
Hart is survived by two sons, Douglas Hart, Jr. of Oklahoma City and Kenneth Hart of Wewoka; one daughter, Eloise Glover of Oklahoma City; one brother, Ivory E. Moore, Sr. of Oklahoma City; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Russ Hart
Funeral services for DISA Goff President Russ Hart of Tecumseh, were scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, at the Cooper Funeral Chapel.
Services were under the direction of the Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
Hart died Wednesday, May 26, 2004, at the age of 57 in Oklahoma City.
He was born Aug. 17, 1946, in Elk City to Duard William and Evelyn Christine (Dennett) Hart.
He attended school at Del City, graduating in 1964.
He also graduated from Central State University in 1972.
He served two years in the United States Army during Vietnam.
He grew up in Del City and had lived in Tecumseh since 1980.
He married Jerilyn Bewley in Del City on June 5, 1965.
He worked for DISA Goff for 24 years and for the last two years, he had served as president.
He enjoyed fishing, scuba diving, traveling, woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Danny Hart.
He is survived by his wife, Jerilyn Hart of the home, one son, Russ "Rusty" Hart Jr. of St. Mary’s Ga. one daughter, Tamara Hendrix and husband, Chad of Yukon; grandchildren, children of Carol and Rick Haley, Devin Haley and Meagan Haley, both of Earlsboro and Maegan Haley and Erika Haley, both of Shawnee; one brother, Lanny Hart and wife, Karen of Moore; one niece, Ashley Hart of Moore and one nephew, Andy Hart of Moore.
Donations may be made to a college fund set up for his grandchildren, in care of BancFirst.
