VONDA ROBERSON
Services for Vonda Roberson will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2003 in the New Hope Tabernacle Church in Sobol, Okla.
Vonda died March 1, 2003 in Antlers. She was 59.
Vonda was born May 19, 1943 in Ringold, Okla., to Birless and Mary (Matlock) Hughes. She was self-employed as a minister and sales person. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, James Roberson.
She is survived by two brothers: Gene Roberson and Ron Roberson, both of Bakersfield, Calif.; seven sisters: Ruby Hall and Cledith Wesley, both of Sobol, Okla., Helen Little of Grand Prairie, Texas, Wilma Roberson, Bartow, Fla., Polly Hogue, Gloria Murphy and Liberty Jordon, all of Bakersfield, Calif.; 24 nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 4, 2003 from 5-7 p.m. at Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Chapel in Hugo.
Officiating the services will be Ron Roberson and burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Hugo. Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home is directing the services.
BILLY ROY HUGHES
Services for Billy Roy Hughes will be Tuesday, March 4, 2003 at 2 p.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Chapel in Hugo.
Billy Roy died Saturday, March 1, 2003 in Paris, Texas. He was 71.
Billy was born Dec. 14, 1931 in Hugo, Okla., to John and Nell (Milam) Hughes. He married Rose Hoskins on Nov. 29, 1991 in Woodland, Texas. He lived in Paris, Texas for the past 50 years after moving there from Hugo. He had retired from the U.S. Postal Service where he worked as a letter carrier. Billy served his country in the U.S. Army in the Korean War and was a member of the Eagle’s Lodge.
He was also the grandson of the first Choctaw County Clerk, J.W. Milam in Hugo. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Rose, of the home; two sons: Randy Hughes, Sulphur Springs, Texas, and Billy White, Paris, Texas; two daughters: Connie Stone, Dallas, Texas and Annette White, Blossom, Texas; one sister, Mae Hentges; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Monday, March 3, 2003 from 7-8 p.m. at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Chapel.
Rev. Fred Fangio will officiate the services and burial will follow in the Springs Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home.

Hansel Thompson, Jr.
Memorial services for Hansel Thompson, Jr.,were held Thursday, April 10, 2003 at 3 p.m. in the Miller & Miller Funeral Home Chapel in Hugo. Hansel died April 7, 2003 in Ada, Okla. He was 51. He was a backhoe operator and a member of the Baptist faith.
Hansel was born Jan. 20, 1952 in Talihina, Okla., the son of Hansel Jenner Thompson and Patsy Ruth (Hunter) Thompson and grew up in the Hugo area. He was preceded in death by his father, one sister, Rebecca Ann Thompson, his maternal grandfather, Buck Hunter, and his paternal grandfather, Joseph Ward Thompson.
Surviving relatives include his partner and special friend of 12 years, Sug Hendrix; his mother, Patsy Ruth Thompson, of Hugo, Okla.; three daughters: Tammy Michelle Tyer and her husband, William Gordon Tyer, Ardmore, Okla., Jessica Nicole Thompson and Kala LeAnn Thompson, both of Drumright, Okla.; one step-daughter, Jeanne Davidson, Coalgate, Okla; one sister, Kay Brownfield and her husband, Larry Brownfield of Valliant, Okla.; one brother, Richard Thompson and his wife Shirley of Durant; his grandmother, Pauline Hunter of Hugo; three grandchildren; Rebecca Tyer, Shelton Tyer, and Hunter Davidson along with many other relatives and friends.

Gerald Hall
Services for Gerald Hall are pending with Miller & Miller Funeral Home of Hugo.
Gerald died April 7, 2003 in Hugo. He was 62.
Gerald was born March 7, 1941 in Pauls Valley, Okla., the son of Wilson Hall and Frankie (Ellis) Hall and had lived in Swink since 1992. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Gerald was a carpenter and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by one son, Gerald Edward Hall, II; one brother, Cliinton Hall of Buckeye, Arizona.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
