Funeral services for I. O. Brinlee, grandfather of Seminole County residents, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, March 13, at the Capital Heights Missionary Baptist Church with Revs. Mack Peercy and Jim Crawford officiating.
Interment will follow the service at Holdenville Cemetery under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.
Brinlee died Thursday, March 11, 2004, in Holdenville at the age of 83.
He was born Oct. 15, 1920, in Holdenville to Ethel Bennett Brinlee and C.E. Brinlee.
He was saved and baptized on April 15, 1956, by Bro. Carol Christian and was a faithful member of the Capital Heights Missionary Baptist Church.
Brinlee married Madge Aliene Pruitt on Sept. 28, 1940, in Holdenville where the couple raised their family.
He was a farmer and rancher in the Lone Oak area until his retirement in 1978.
He loved to share his life with his grandchildren and family, enjoyed working in his garden and reading the Bible. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Ethel Brinlee, two sisters, Marie Peters and Hazel Pottsdorf, and three brothers, Glen, Carl and Buck Brinlee.
Survivors include his wife, Madge of the home; his children, Alton Brinlee of Olive Branch, Mo., Kenneth Brinlee and Curtis Brinlee, both of Holdenville, Hartsell Brinlee and Pat Ray, both of Wetumka; two sisters, Juanita Wilkes of Holdenville and Evalina Howard of Derby, Kan.; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and many friends.
Pallbearers are Kerry Brinlee, James Ray, Joe Kirkland, Ira Brinlee, Bryan Brinlee, Shane Phillips, and Chase Phillips. Honorary bearers are all men in the church.
James ‘Red’ Ingram
Funeral services for former Seminole County native, James "Red" Ingram of Spencer have been scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16 at the Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Chapel with Dan Vreeland officiating.
Interment will follow in Vamoosa Cemetery under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.
Ingram died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004, at the age of 74 at Midwest City Regional Hospital.
He was born Nov. 18, 1929, in Konawa to Jim Ingram and Jewell (Anally) Ingram.
He married Wanda (Smith) on March 20, 1951, in Konawa.
He was a truck driver for many years and worked for Bill Hodges Trucking, as well as LV Trucking in Oklahoma City.
Ingram is a former Konawa but has resided in Spencer for over 40 years.
He was baptized in March 1972 at the Ideal Street Baptist Church in Seminole.
He was preceded ind eath by his parents; one sister, Mary Perry in 2003; and one nephew, Michael Harris.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda (Smith) Ingram of the home; one son, James Craig Ingram of Harrah; two daughters, Sherry Ragsdale of Seminole and Alecia Gordon of Choctaw; two sisters, Loretta Cole of Konawa and Delouris Harris of Huntsville, Ark.; 15 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Serving as casket bearers include Shane Ingram, Richard Ingram, Chris Bacon, Curtis Bacon, Ryan French and James French.
Honorary Casket Bearers will be Justin Ingram and Justin Harris.
Anna Inman
Graveside services for Seminole resident Anna Sue Gilliam Inman are scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Celestrial Gardens in Cyril.
Rev. Larry Inman will officiate the services.
Services will be under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.
Inman died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2004 in Seminole at the age of 73.
She was born to Charles Raymond Gilliam and Dimple Irene Bennett on July 2, 1930 in Cyril.
She married Kenneth Inman on Nov. 18, 1967 in Durant.
Inman lived in Seminole for the past six months having moved from Porum Landing, near Lake Eufaula, and the Oklahoma City area prior to that.
She completed her business schooling at Hills Business College, and retired as an executive secretary in 1976.
Inman was a former member of the Cyril First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Inman is survived by her husband, Kenneth Inman, of the home; two sons, Rick Olsen, Shawnee and Kenneth Inman, Annapolis, Md.; five daughters, Teresa Olson, Spring Hill, Tenn., Glenda Olson, Del City, Kay Durmick, San Diego, Calif., Kris Jahnke, Boise, Idaho and Kerry Inman, Del City; two sisters, Cherrl Berry, Cyril and Kay Ross, Harrah; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Dorothy Jackson
Funeral services for former longtime Seminole resident Dorothy Marie (Marx) Jackson are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating.
Interment is to follow services at Cummings Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Jackson, 79, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004 at her home in Edmond. She was born Dec. 7, 1925 in Harjo to Benny Carl and Mary Viola (Johnson) Marx.
She married William Hilton Jackson in 1950 in Seminole. She was a homemaker as well as worked in nursing homes in Maud, Konawa and Edmond, as a Nurse’s Aide for over 20 years.
Jackson retired in 1977 at which time she cared for children until her health failed. She accepted the Lord in 1965 at Vamoosa Baptist Church.
Her parents, husband, and two brothers, Carl and Stanley Marx, all preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Lois Cooley of Edmond and Barbara Hooker of Maud; two brothers, Richard Marx of Hephzibah, Ga. and Benny Marx of Seminole; three sisters, Lorene Stalnaker and Ola Williams, both of Maud and Edith Boren of Tuttle; six grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Hortence Jackson
Funeral services for longtime Seminole County resident, Hortence "Dutch" Jackson of Konawa are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 26 at the Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Chapel in Konawa, with Bro. Wade Harelson officiating.
Interment will follow at the Vamoosa Cemetery under the direction of the Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.
Jackson died Monday, May 24, 2004, at the age of 94 at Pauls Valley General Hospital.
She was born May 23, 1910, in Friendship to Jerome C. Rounsaville and Edna Rounsaville.
She was married to Richard Pierce Jackson in Jan. 1932.
She was a longtime Konawa resident.
She was a homemaker and also worked at the Konawa Public Schools in the cafeteria.
Jackson was a member of the First Baptist Church in Konawa and was active with the Konawa Senior Citizens Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband on May 13, 1962; four brothers; and two sisters.
She is survived by two sons, Bobby Richard Jackson of Bethany and John J. Jackson of Konawa; two daughters, Jo Ann Sanders of Wynnewood and Yvonne Robertson of Okemah; two brothers, Guy Rounsaville of California and Charles Rounsaville of Shawnee; two sisters, Era Tanner of Midwest City and Pauline Kramer of California; nine grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Casket bearers will be Bobby Jackson Jr, Mike Jackson, Keith D. Robertson, Floyd Hopper, Randy Mosco and Michael West.
Honorary bearers will be Boby Rounsaville and Mark Trunk.
Lawrence Jackson
Graveside service for former Seminole resident Lawrence Samuel Jackson of Carrollton, Texas is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at Little Cemetery with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating.
The services will be under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Jackson, 83, died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2004 at Trinity Medical Center in Carrollton, Texas. He was born Jan. 15, 1921 in Shawnee to Arthur Leslie and Anna Gay (Briggs) Jackson.
He was a Seminole resident for 50 years and an autobody technician. Jackson was a veteran who served in the United States Navy. He was of the Baptist faith.
His survivors include son Larry Jackson of Carrollton, Texas; daughter Linda Robinson of Montgomery, Texas; sister Mavis Silva of San Leandro, Calif.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Sally ‘Belle’ Jackson
Services for longtime Konawa resident Sally "Belle" Jackson will be 10 a.m. on Tuesday at Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Chapel under the officiating of Richard Winters. Burial will be at Vamoosa Cemetery.
Jackson was born July 1, 1905 in Seminole to Solomon Richard and Dolly (Garrison) Prewitt and she died July 30, 2004.
She had been a homemaker and was a member of the Church of Christ in Konawa. She married Walter Noden Jackson in Seminole County.
Her survivors are a daughter, Bonnie Eakens of Konawa; son Doyle Jackson of Tulsa; a sister, Dorothy Murphy of Independence, Kan.; seven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons, with honorary bearers being her great-grandsons and friends.
Travis Jackson
Funeral services for Seminole resident Travis Buddy Jackson are scheduled for 2 p.m. on Monday at Akasvmkv Baptist Church in Wewoka with Rev. Bill Barnett and Rev. Dan Factor officiating.
Interment is to follow service at Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
Wake services are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Akasvmkv Baptist Church.
Jackson, 68, died Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004 at Seminole Medical Center. He was born Oct. 20, 1936 to Edmond and Pauline Johnson.
He graduated from Wewoka High School in 1954 and then went on to receive a master’s and bachelor’s degree in psychology at East Central University, Northeastern State University and Murray State College.
Jackson married Myrtle Foreman on Jan. 27, 1959 in Tahlequah and was a member of the Indian Nation Baptist Church in Seminole.
He worked for Wewoka Indian Health Services as an Area Service Director for several years. Jackson dedicated his life to help the Indian people and the Indian Health Services.
His mother, wife Myrtle "Bunny" Jackson, sister Johnnie Mae Proctor Hold, grandmother Sarah Factor, Cogie Miller and Lena Wright all preceded him in death.
He is survived by 7 children, Bruce Davis of Oaks, Billie Miller of Kansas, Willa Griffin and Travis Jackson both of Seminole, Paula Jackson and Michael Jackson both of Wewoka and Brian Jackson of Tahlequah; 22 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and grandmother Mary Tiger of Wewoka.
Pallbearers for the service are to be Michael Grothaus, John Yahola, Michael Jackson, Brian Jackson, Michael Bradley Jackson, Bruce Davis and Travis Jackson Jr.
The honorary bearers are listed as Allen Jackson, Jeremy Smith, Brice Miller, Sgt. Kevin Chancellor, Kevin Marshal, Randall Marshal and Kyle Ramsey.
