Tommie Irene Lawler

Funeral services for lifelong Seminole resident Tommie Irene Lawler, 90, are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Monday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard Stillwell officiating.

Interment is to follow the service at Wolf Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Lawler died Friday, Nov. 19, 2004 at Unity Health Center, North. She was born in Seminole County Oct. 19, 1914 to Issac Alex and Belle (Harrison) Oakes.

She married Ronald Charles Lawler in March 1931 in Wolf, and was a homemaker. Lawler was a member of Assembly of God.

Lawler’s parents; husband; son-in-law, Tom Hayes; and siblings, Grace West, Hollie Oakes, Roy Oakes, Roland Oakes, Bertha Dunn and Norma Williams preceded her in death. Her sister, Johnnie Ferguson of Weatherford died Saturday morning in Hydro.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Henry Bowlan of Tecumseh and Donna Hayes of Flint, Texas; grandchildren, Libby and Larry Dixon of Tyler, Texas, Chuck and Carla Bowlan of Tecumseh and Chad and Heather Bowlan of Edmond; and great-grandchildren, Garrett, Charlisle and Holly Bowlan of Tecumseh, Aubrie and Bryson Bowlan of Edmond and Wade and Ellen Dixon of Tyler, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

The casket bearers for the services will be her grandsons, great-grandsons and Lindel Smith.

Johnny D. Ledbetter

Services were scheduled to take place today at 1:30 p.m. at the Trinity Baptist Church in Maud for lifelong resident Johnny D. Ledbetter. Rev. Wayne Taylor was scheduled to officiate.

His casket was to be open until service time and closed after the service.

Ledbetter is scheduled to be buried in the Cummings Cemetery in Maud.

The Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home is taking care of the arrangements.

Ledbetter died Friday, Sept. 10, 2004 in the Seminole Hospital at the age of 64.

He was born Aug. 1, 1940, to William and Letha (Jackson) Ledbetter, south of Maud.

Sandra (Strickland) Ledbetter became his wife on July 22, 1961, in Maud.

Ledbetter owned and operated the J&W Dump Truck service in Maud for many years.

He attended Carr City and Pumpkin Center Schools before graduating from Maud High School in 1959.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Billy "Tosh" Ledbetter in 1950; and sister Ernestine Lacefield in 2003.

He is survived by his wife, of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Darryl and Julee Ledbetter of Tecumseh; daughter and son-in-law Tammy and Roger Kiser of Maud; sister Betty Waltens or Decatur, Ill.; four grandchildren, Kadee and Tanner Silas or Maud, Gavin and Gabel Ledbetter of Tecumseh; and a host of other family and friends.

Expressions of sympathy can be made to the Oklahoma Heart Association.

Leonard P. Ledbetter

Funeral services for Seminole resident Leonard Ledbetter are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Clark officiating.

Interment is to follow services at Maple Grove Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Ledbetter, 86, died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2004 at Mercy Health Center. He was born Dec. 11, 1918 in Red Bay, Ala. to James Robert and Ida Francis (White) Ledbetter.

He married Beatrice Christine Poling on Oct. 29, 1939 in Seminole. Ledbetter lived most of his life in the Maud, Prairie Valley and Seminole areas. He also lived in California for six years.

As a veteran he served in the United States Army during World War II. He worked for Sinclair Plant 13 for 35 years as a mechanic over the engine room. He also worked for Standard Oil while in California.

Ledbetter was a member of First Baptist Church and a former member of American Legion.

His wife, Beatrice Ledbetter of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Leonard Dick and Kathy Ledbetter of Chickasha and Lloyd Allen and Kay Ledbetter of Seminole; sister Exie Lee Blake of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, April Dawn Ledbetter Jones and husband Michael, Steven Zane Ledbetter, Cynthia DeAnne Ledbetter Mincher and husband Dwight and Aaron Allen Ledbetter and wife Crystal survive him.

In addition are his great grandchildren, Desirae’ Jean Ledbetter of Blanchard, Austin Allen and Jaxson Dean Mincher and Joshua and Miranda Matthews all of Texas, Dustin Monroe and Valerie Ann Jones both of Okemah, Lane Michael and Larson Paige Jones and Shalena Faith Ballard and Marissa Joy Ledbetter all of Seminole; nieces and nephews, Judy Lee Ledbetter and husband Walter Spicer, John Robert Ledbetter, Nelda Quellette and husband Jarry, Donal Lee Dickerson and wife Brooksie, Joel Murlynn Eyler, Joyce Maxine Hilbarn and husband Sonny and Mary Francis Dickerson.

The casket bearers for the service will be Robert Foxx, Larry Bruce, Mike Douglas, Toby Aldridge and Delbert Aldridge. Standing as honorary bearers will be Fred Ellison, D.C. Neal, Bo Rouse and Don Raney.

Sharon Kay Ledbetter

Funeral services for Wewoka native Sharon Kay Ledbetter are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday, at the Henninger-Allen Funeral Chapel in Enid.

The Rev. Sherry Shaw will be officiating the services, and burial is planned for 1 p.m. Thursday, at the Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka.

Ledbetter passed away Monday, Aug. 30, 2004, at the age of 54.

She was born on Oct. 21, 1949, in Wewoka, to J.D. and Beula Merle Allen Davis.

In 1967, she graduated from Wewoka High School and married Gary Ledbetter.

Ledbetter lived in Wewoka until 1980, when she moved to Enid.

After graduating from Licensed Practical Nursing School in 1985, she worked as a nurse in Enid for 19 years.

Ledbetter was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

She is survived by her daughter Angela Ledbetter-Shaw and her husband Allen, of Enid; her sons, Terry Ledbetter and wife Trisha of Enid, and Ron Ward and wife Melissa of Poteau; grandchildren, Shanleigh Shaw, Misty Kattie and Gregory Miller, all of Enid, Ryan, Morgan and Rece Ward, of Poteau; brothers Dennis Allen and Rick Rose; sisters Barbara Jernigan-Cross and Francis Frank; and nephews Randy Jernigan and wife Carmen of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Shawn Jernigan and wife Amy of Enid.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Hospice Circle of Love.

Peggy Jo Ledford

Graveside services for Wewoka resident Peggy Jo Ledford were scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, at Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka. Rev. Johnny Hinton will be officiating. Under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.

Ledford died July 24, 2004 at Seminole Medical Center, at the age of 75.

Ledford was born Sept. 28, 1928 in Konawa, to Luther and Alie (Minton) Berry.

She was raised in the Konawa area, were she attended Konawa High School and graduated in 1946 as valedictorian, Ms. Rodeo Queen, All District basketball, football and Band.

She was a member of the Konawa Church of Christ.

Ledford was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Alie Berry; her husband, Kinnie Ledford; her son, Kevin Lee Ledford; and two brothers, Gene and Roscoe Berry.

She is survived by her son, Curtis Ledford of Wewoka; her daughter, Linda Sexton of Muskogee; and her two sisters, Barbara Chase and Bonnie Scott both of Konawa.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Colbert, Cletus Colbert, Joe Yahola, Ted Neil, Reggie Parker, Larry Streater, Marvin Osborn, and Tom Kiker.

Bill Lee

Funeral services for longtime Seminole resident, Bill Harold Lee are scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday, March 1 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doyle Long officiating.

Interment will follow at the Little Cemetery, north of Seminole under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.

Lee died Friday, Feb. 27, 2004, at the age of 74 in the Pioneer Nursing Home in Seminole.

He was born Dec. 13, 1929, in Seminole.

He worked for Lee Transfer and Storage for 26 years as a truck driver.

He was also a private in the U.S. Army during World War II, as well as a member of the I.O.O.F. (Oddfellows).

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

He is survived by a special friend, Barbara Knight and considered the following like his children, Pamala Sieben of Beaumont, Texas, Billy Joe Knight of Seminole, Edie Mayeux and Jackie Knight, both of Belton, Texas.

Casket bearers will be Billy Knight, Terry Morrison, Randy Cotton, Jim Chilcoate, Wayne Winn and Joseph Foutz.

Honorary bearers are Bruce Patterson, Lloyd Sneed, Kenneth Dye and Jim Chilcoate.

Tyler Lehman

Funeral services for Tyler Lynn Lehman, infant son of Ryan and Jennifer Lehman, former Seminole residents, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Swearingen Chapel.

Pastor Rick Harris, First Baptist Church at Bowlegs, will officiate.

Graveside services will follow under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

The baby was born April 12 at Unity North Medical Center in Shawnee.

He died the same day.

Survivors include his parents of Shawnee; his twin sister, Anna Dianne Lehman, of the home; grandparents, Tom and Laverne Lehman, Seminole; Alan and Lisa Darr, Bowlegs and Ken and Brenda Violet, Midwest City.

Tyler Lehman

Funeral services for Tyler Lynn Lehman, infant son of Ryan and Jennifer Lehman, former Seminole residents, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Swearingen Chapel.

Pastor Rick Harris, First Baptist Church at Bowlegs, will officiate.

Graveside services will follow under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

The baby was born April 12 at Unity North Medical Center in Shawnee.

Pearl Lemmings

Funeral services for Seminole resident, Pearl Lemmings are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 17, 2004, at the Swearingen Funeral Chapel with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating.

Interment will follow at the Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.

Lemmings died Sunday, June 13, 2004, at the age of 79 in Seminole Hospital.

She was born March 23, 1925, in Seminole to Joseph Davis Nelson and Oca Margaret (Rogers) Nelson.

She was married to Leon Lemmings on March 27, 1941, in Seminole and was a lifelong Seminole resident.

She was a homemaker and a farmer, as well as a member of the Haney Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dave and Oca Nelson; one sister, Stella Burleson; one brother, Jim Nelson; and husband, Leon Lemmings on July 17, 1980.

She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Tom and Anita Lemmings of Seminole and David Lemmings of Oklahoma City; four daughters and sons-in-law, Janey and Gerald Vaughn of Seminole, Roxie and Tom Posey of Shawnee, Lisa and Fred Schroeder of Corpus Christi, Texas and Patsy and Michael Patten of West Bend, Wisc.; one brother, Alvie Nelson of Seminole; 15 grandchildren, John Lemmings and wife, Kim; Tammy Barrientos and husband, Gerardo; Steven Vaughn and wife, Shauna; Tina Ticer and husband, Jimmy; Thomas Posey, David Lemmings and wife, Julie; Kim Lana and husband, Brian; Curtis and Leah Lemmings, Jennifer Schroeder, Daniel Patten, Mathew Patten, Zack Patten, Rachel Patten and Jacob Paten; and 15 great grandchildren, Travis Lemmings, Justin Lane, Johnny Lane, Brooklyn Vaughn, Dylan Vaughn, Noel Ticer, Krisha Ticer, Hanna Ticer, Madison Ticer, Shelby Posey, Sarah Lemmings, Coty Lemmngs, Quinton Lemmings, Alexis Lana and Jordan Lana.

Casket bearers will be her grandsons.

Honorary bearers will be Buster Gene Pace, Dewayne Lemmings, Wendell Lemmings, Gene Kernal, Shirley Hill and Adrian Hester.
