Beulah Long

Memorial services for former Seminole resident, Beulah Pauline Long are scheduled for 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23 at Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Weir, Kan. with Rev. Dale Houghton officiating.

Inurnment will be at a later date in Resthaven Cemetery in Seminole.

Arrangements and services are under the direction of Bath-Naylor Funeral Home of Weir, Kan.

Long died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2004, at the age of 80 at Heritage Nursing Home in Girard, Kan., where she has been failing in health for two years.

She was born. Sept. 8, 1923, in Stigler to John and Bonnie (Altstatt) Hall.

She married Claude D. Long on May 28, 1949, in Yuma, Ariz.

She lived in Seminole for many years before moving to Cherokee, Kan. in 1990.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Cherokee United Methodist Church in Cherokee, Kan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude D. Long on Sept. 5, 1996; her parents; one daughter, Alice Goodnight; two brothers; and one sister.

She is survived by her son, James A. Long of Wolf; nine daughters, Betty Crowe, . Debbie Bennett, Nora Hoover, Mary Long, Sheila Whittenburg and Kathy Frasher, all of Cherokee, Kan., Peggy Russell of Holdenville, Cytha Johnson of Marshfield, Wis., Nancy Plumley of Shawnee; 34 grandchildren and 43 great grandchildren.

Beulah and Claude Long

A graveside memorial service for Seminole residents, Claude Dale and Beulah Pauline Long will be held at 12 noon Saturday, May 22 at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole where their remains will be buried.

Services will be under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.

Claude Dale Long passed away Sept 5, 1996, in Joplin, Mo. at the age of 71.

He was born May 9, 1925, in Summer, Texas to Andrew Clovis and Nora (Blagg) Long.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy, as well as in the Merchang Marines.

He worked as a foreman for the Iron Workers Union Local No. 48 in Oklahoma City until his retirement in 1972, due to ill health.

He married Beulah Pauline (Hall) Long on May 28, 1949, in Yuma, Ariz.

She died Jan. 20, 2004, in Girard, Kan. at the age of 80.

Both were former Seminole residents, moving to Cherokee in 1990.

Survivors include a son, James A. Elga Long

Gravesite services for Seminole County resident, Elga McGeehee Long are scheduled for March 15 at 2:00 p.m. at Graveside Rites Highland Cemetery with Bro. James Branscum officiating.

Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery under the direction of Schumacher Funeral Home, Okemah.

Lond died March 11, 2004, at the age of 86 in Okemah.

She was born Sept. 17, 1917, in Ravia to Jesse D. and Mary Francis Synder McGeehee.

Long worked for Wilson’s Foods in Oklahoma City as a machine operator and retired after 30 years.

She moved to Cromwell from Oklahoma City in 1981 and was a member of the Cromwell Church of Christ.

She loved to play rummy and was a good cook.

She was married to Olin Long.

She was preceded in death by spouse Olin Long in 1992; her parents; two sons, Olin Zane Long and Charles E. Long; and five brothers; Jesse, Bob, Max, and Frank McGeehee, and three sisters; Vina Garrett, Aza Saylors and Addie McGeehee.

She is survived by one son, Darrell Long of Oklahoma City; one daughter, Mary Vaught; and husband Millard of Cromwell; ten grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and nine great- great grandchildren; along with a host of other family and friends.

Pauline M. Love

TYRONE – Funeral services for former Seminole resident Pauline M. Love will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Tyrone Baptist Church with Jesse Murphy presiding. Interment will be in the Tyrone Cemetery.

Love died Sept. 2, 2004 at the Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, Kan. She was born to Alva C. and Clara W. (White) Broughton on June 8, 1929 in Saddle Mountain.

She graduated from Seminole High School before moving with her family to Tyrone in 1961. Love was a bookkeeper for Love Pumping for many years and did volunteer work for the Salvation Army Store in Liberal, Kan.

Love was a longtime Avon representative and enjoyed auctions, sewing, needlepoint, and spending time with her family. She was of the Christian faith.

On Nov. 27, 1929 she married Robert T. Love in Pawhuska. He preceded her in death on Oct. 8, 1999.

She is survived by four sons, Charles Love of Kansas City, Kan., Philip Love of Tyrone, Kan., John Love of Liberal, Kan., Robert Love Jr. of Guymon; four daughters, Carolyn Gonzales of Derby, Kan., Kaye Christensen of Hattiesburg, Miss., Roberta Bridenstine of Turpin, Virginia Hinton of Liberal, Kan.; sister, Elva Ruth Fitz of Shattuck; 28 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren.

Miller Mortuary located at 908 N. Lincoln, Liberal, and Kan is handling arrangements.

Angel Lowe

Prayer services for Angel Lowe, father of Seminole resident Linda Walker, are scheduled to be held 6:30 p.m. tonight at Hudson-Phillips Chapel.

Procession to the church is scheduled for 3 p.m. Wednesday for wake services.

Lowe’s funeral is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Wewoka Indian Methodist Church in Yeager with Reverend Harry Long officiating. Burial is scheduled to take place at McGirt Family Cemetery in Yeager under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.

Lowe died Sunday, Oct. 17, 2004, in Okemah after an automobile accident at the age of 90.

Born June 7, 1914, to Canuky Lowe and Tochee Smith in Hughes County, Lowe was raised in the Pecan Grove area and attended Euchee school in Sapulpa.

Lowe joined the U.S. Army and served during WWII in the infantry, 45th division. He later joined the Coast Guard serving a total of 11 years.

Upon returning home, he worked as a farmer for several years.

Lowe retired from Claybrook Drilling in 1984 where he worked as a truck driver.

He was a member of the Wewoka Indian Methodist Church in Yeager.

Lowe was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth McGirt in 1989; one daughter, Tochee Narcomey; and one granddaughter, Erin Lowe.

He is survived by his children, Mike McGirt of Yeager, Jerry Lowe of Glenpool, James and Annette Lowe both of Holdenville, Linda Walker of Seminole, and Kay Johnson of Holdenville; sisters Louise Musgrove of Holdenville and Lizzie Brooks of Oklahoma City.

Pallbearers are Dan Narcomey, John Factor, Bill Fife, Jon Lowe, Darrick Walker and Ethan Narcomey.

Honorary pallbearers are Jim Humble, Robert McGeeley, Ben Larney, Lewis Wise, Merle Berryhill, Alan Webb, Norman Franks and Harry Walker.

Virginia Lowe

Graveside funeral services for Konawa resident Virginia Ruth Lowe were scheduled for 2 p.m. today at Vamoosa Cemetery.

Her husband, Jim Lowe, was scheduled to officiate. Burial was under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home, Konawa.

Lowe died Saturday at her Konawa home.

She was born July 14, 1928, in Broken Bow to Orville and Ruby Fern (Wright) Parker.

She moved to Konawa 18 years ago from California.

Lowe was a housewife and a member of the Church of Christ.

She married Jim Lowe on Oct. 31, 1942, in Quartside, Ariz.; he survives her, of the home.

Other survivors include one son, Danny Lowe, Laurence, Ark.; one daughter, Carolyn Bonano, Beaumont, Calif.; 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, James T. Lowe Jr.; two brothers, Junior and Clyde; and two sisters, Francis and Geraldine.

Helen Geraldine Lynn

Funeral services for longtime Seminole resident Helen Geraldine (Reed) Lynn are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Swearingen Funeral Home.

A private family burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. The casket bearers are to be her grandsons and grandsons-in-law.

Lynn, 88, passed away Oct. 18, 2004 at Seminole Medical Center. She was born March 22, 1916 in Kinsley, Kan. to Frank Evan and Georgia Zepher (Hartman) Reed.

Her family moved to Woodward in the 1920’s and she graduated from Woodward High School in 1934. Following high school she attended Wichita Business College.

She married Ward G. Lynn on Aug. 20, 1938. They moved to Seminole in 1939.

Lynn was a direct survivor of the Woodward tornado in 1947, as in she was in a building that took a direct hit from the tornado.

She was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Seminole, where she served as a pianist. Lynn also played the piano for the ladies singing group "The Selectones" of Seminole. She was a member of the Seminole Arts Council, Modern Literature Book Club and several bridge clubs.

Preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers, Loren and Evan Reed; and her husband.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Reed and Gaye Lynn of Stuart; daughter and son-in-law, Jane Ann and Rob Pyron of Seminole; three grandsons, Joshua and Zachary Pyron of Seminole, and John Lynn of Stuart; two granddaughters and their husbands, Lauren and Jason Hill of Carthage, Mo., and Rebekah and Garrett Napier of Shawnee.

In lieu of flowers a memorial donation may be made to the Seminole Arts Council, P.O. Box 212, Seminole, Okla. 74818.

Myrthanna Hill Madkins

WEWOKA – Services for Myrthanna Hill Madkins are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at Stout-Phillips Funeral Chapel.

Interment is scheduled for Jackson Cemetery in Wewoka.

Madkins died Monday, Nov. 8, 2004, at Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City at the age of 67.

She was born to Roy and Myrtle Hill on Dec. 31, 1936, the fourth of nine children.

Madkins joined the Rock Hill Missionary Church at an early age and as an adult served as church treasurer.

She married Kenneth L. Kemp Sr. in 1954.

After Kemp died, she married Roy Madkins in 1988.

Madkins worked at Elmwood Nursing Home for over 35 years as a dietician and social director.

She is preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; son Kenneth Kemp Jr.; and sister Wanda L. Cooper.

Madkins is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Kemp of Oklahoma City and Lori Jones-Warrior of Wewoka; one brother, LeRoy Hill of Inglewood, Calif.; and six sisters, Artellia McElwee and Priscilla Liddell both of Spencer, Naomi Graham of Las Vegas, Nev., Doris Arnold of Austin, Texas, and Patricia Terrell of Oklahoma City; two granddaughters; one grandson; and 13 step-children.
