Graveside services for Wanda Jean Mason of Seminole were held Saturday at Little Cemetery.
Rev. Carl Whitfield officiated. Burial was under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Mason died Thursday at her home in Seminole.
She was born Sept. 21, 1945, in Broken Bow to Buster and Alice (Battiest) Boston.
She had lived in Seminole for many years, where she was a homemaker and a member of the Order of Eastern Star and Twin Oak Baptist Church.
She married Wilburn Lee Mason on Feb. 3, 1975, in Durant; he died Dec. 20, 2003.
She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include one daughter, Kimberly King, Seminole; one son, Ricky Lee Mason, also of Seminole; three sisters, Linda Roberts, Newcastle, Ada Wilson, Idabel, and Beatrice Smith, Oklahoma City; two brothers, Harry M. Boston and Curtis Boston, both of Ardmore; and five grandchildren.
Carl Masterson
Memorial services for former Seminole County resident, Carl Junior Masterson will be scheduled at a later date by the Wadleys Funeral Service of Purcell.
Masterson died Wednesday, March 10, 2004, at the age of 77 at the Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City.
He was born Sept. 5, 1926, in Tuskahoma to Aaron Thomas and Rosa Dee Smiley Masterson.
He was raised and attended school at Maud.
Masterson and Ruby Lee Herring were united in marriage on Feb. 10, 1947, in Maud.
He was inducted to the United States Navy on April 28, 1944, at Oklahoma City.
He was honorably discharged with the rank of Gunners Mate Third Class on Feb. 17, 1946, at Norman.
Maserson was a construction superintendent, was of the Protestant faith and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He moved to the Lexington area 14 years ago.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruby; one daughter, Gloria Masterson; 11 sisters; one brother; and two grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Roland Masterson of Sarasota, Fla., Carla Pierce of Ft. Worth, Texas, Bobby Masterson of Noble, Thomas Masterson of Healdton and Naoma Judson of St. Petersburg, Fla; and numerous grand children and great grandchildren.
William Jerry Matheny
William Jerry Matheny was born Oct. 21, 1928 in Okemah, to William Earl and Ida Lee Sykes Matheny.
He had two sisters, one older and one younger.
Jerry graduated from Wewoka High School. He then attended the University of Oklahoma where he earned a bachelor in business administration in 1951.
After college graduation, Jerry went into the Air Force. After his tour of duty, he went back to Wewoka and worked in his father’s business.
He then accepted a job with Sinclair Oil Company in Houston.
Later, he decided to go back to the automobile industry.
In 1958 while working at a new automobile show at the Houston Coliseum, he met Verna Christian.
A spark was ignited. After their first date, he learned that Verna had three little boys.
Jerry won Verna’s heart and they were married on Dec. 17, 1961, and he accepted her sons as his own.
They added two more sons.
Jerry moved to Wewoka in 1965 and his dad turned over the reins of the family auto business to him.
It became a successful family business.
Verna soon joined him as office manager.
Jerry and Verna built a new home on Oakhurst in 1980.
In 1981, there was a devastating fire that destroyed Matheny Ford.
In 1994, Jerry and Verna moved to Bella Vista, Ark. and built a new home where he left to be with the Lord on Thursday night, Oct. 6, 2004.
His greatest love was the Lord Jesus. He spent hours in Bible study and prayer and loved to encourage others in serving the Lord.
Jerry immensely enjoyed music and played the saxophone professionally while in the Air Force in San Antonio.
Later he played with large orchestras and small combos in the Houston area.
He also played his sax in church orchestras and for his friends and family.
Jerry was a devoted and loving husband and beloved and respected father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his sister June Moore.
Surviving him is his loving wife of 44 years, Verna Matheny; five sons, David Christian and wife Cherry of Atlanta, Ga., Donald Christian and wife Joie of Conroe, Texas, Darrel Christian and wife Paige of Houston, Texas, Todd Matheny and wife Jeannie of Dallas, Texas, Mike Matheny and Dana of Tulsa.
He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, Kimberly and Don Briggs and daughters Jessica and Kayla; Nelia and Jeff Card; Matthew Christian; Camille and Casey Christian and Mother Denise Hicks; Justin and Lindsey Christian; Kevin, Kaylee and Austin Christian and mother Patti Christian; Gabriel, Aaron and Sara Matheny, Dylan and Kara Matheny; his 102-year-old mother Ida Lee Matheny; his sister Faye Lee and husband W.T. Dingler; nephews and nieces and many dear friends.
As his family, we pray that we become the people he showed us how to be every day of his life.

Services will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. in the Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, Oct. 9, 2004.
Rev. Benny Mathews will officiate; interment will be at the Oakwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Gabriel Matheny, Aaron Matheny, Justin Christian, Kevin Christian, Austin Christian, Mathew Christian, Dylan Matheny.
Shirley Mae Mathis
Funeral services for Wewoka resident Shirley Mae Mathis, 69, will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Stout-Phillips Funeral Chapel.
Mathis died on Sept. 4, 2004 at Unity Hospital.
Her survivors include three daughters, Pam Upshaw of Rose, Luwanna Baker, and Debbie Phillips both of Wewoka.
Shirley Mae Mathis
Wewoka resident Shirley Mae Mathis, 69, passed away in Shawnee on Saturday, Sept. 4, 2004.
Mrs. Mathis was born on July 20, 1935, to William and Margaret Povey, in Redmond, Ore.
She moved to Holdenville from Nebraska in 1972, and to Wewoka in 1977.
Funeral services were scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 7, at the Stout-Phillips Funeral Chapel in Wewoka, with Rev. John Lively officiating and Rev. Mike Vallandingham assisting.
Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
Mrs. Mathis had been employed by the Wewoka Nutrition Center for the past eight years. She previously had worked at Big Yank in Wewoka and the Holdenville General Hospital.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Debbie Phillips and Dennis of Wewoka; Pam Upshaw and Carl of Rose; and Luwanna Baker of Wewoka.
Also surviving Mrs. Mathis are seven grandchildren, Brad Norman, Angie Norman and Monte Phillips of Holdenville; Jeremy Epperly of San Antonio, Texas; Clint Carpenter of Wewoka; Wayne Beers and Neil Peckham of Rose; four great-grandchildren, Blayne Norman, Baylie Norman, Emma Norman and Hayden Phillips, all of Holdenville; one brother, Ted Povey of Ariz. and a host of friends.
Pallbearers will be Brad, Angie, and Blayne Norman, Monte Phillips, Jeremy Epperly, Clint Carpenter, and Neil Peckham.
Honorary bearers will be all the employees of Phillips Funeral Service.
Bob Mauney
Funeral services for Robert Lee "Bob" Mauney, who grew up in Seminole, were scheduled for today at Swearingen Funeral Chapel.
Rev. Larry Sparks officiated; burial followed in Maple Grove Cemetery.
Mauney died Wednesday, June 30, 2004, at St. Anthony Hospital, Oklahoma City, at the age of 60.
He was born Oct. 11, 1943, in Atlanta, Texas, to Francis Hosea and Mary Lee (Edmondson) Mauney.
He lived in Seminole during his childhood and in Bethel Acres most of his adult life.
He moved to Tecumseh from Midwest City 29 years ago.
He served in the US Army and Air Force and retired from Tinker Air Force Base in 2002.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include the mother of his children, Caren Lea (Campbell) Davis, Liberty Township, Ohio; one son, Michael Lee Mauney of Clinton; one daughter, Michelle Lea Nuckols of Cincinnati; three sisters, Margaret Ford of Seminole, Mary Staff and Doris Floyd, both of Shawnee; and one grandchild.
Casketbearers will include Ricky Hartman, Doug Ford, Anthony Hartman, Kevin Staff, Christopher Oslin, Matt Oslin, Arliss Ford and Chris Olin.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society for multiple myeloma.
Lillian (Baker) McAnelly
Funeral services for former Seminole resident Lillian (Baker) McAnelly, 60, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Monday, at Moore’s Southlawn Chapel in Tulsa. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5 –7 p.m. Sunday at Moore’s Southlawn Chapel.
McAnelly died Oct. 8, 2004 in Muskogee. She was born on Sept. 24, 1944 in Seminole to Nicholas E. and Vivian Baker. She was a tax preparer.
Surviving her are three sons, Jeff McAnelly, Blain McAnelly, and Tracy McAnelly; four sisters, Evalee Stubbs, Janice Cuevas, Betty Ellington, Carol Weed; brother Nickie Baker; and six grandchildren.
