David McCoy

Memorial services for former Seminole resident, David O. McCoy, of Big Sandy, Texas are being planned for a later date in Minneola, Texas.

He died Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004, at the age of 81.

He was a veteran of World War II and a longtime employee of Sun Oil Company.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ellie McCoy on Sept. 8, 1986.

He is survived by one son, Capt. Mark McCoy, retired USAF, of Longmont, Colo.; two daughters, Linda Brennan of Oklahoma City and Pam Daignault of Frisco, Texas a special friend, Dusty McClean of Hawkins, Texas; five grandchildren and one great grandchild. .

Carol Faye McCraw

Funeral services for longtime Seminole County resident, Carol Faye McCraw, of Konawa are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 5 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Matthew Brown, O.S.B. officiating.

Interment will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of the Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.

A Rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 4 at the Pickard Swearingen Funeral Home.

McCraw died Sunday, May 2, 2004, at the age of 60 at her home in Konawa.

She was born Aug. 28, 1943, in Maud to Elvon Leroy "Bud" McGuire and Vineta Faye (Hulsey) McGuire.

She was married to Robert "Jerry" McCraw on July 11, 1963, in Ada.

Carol received her BA in elementary education from east Central University and taught school for many years.

She was a bookkeeper, past owner of River Mist Convenience Store and the Sooner Directional Drilling Company.

Carol was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sacred Heart Alter Society and the Sacred Heart Cemetery Commission.

She was a volunteer at the Asher Public Schools and past member of the Konawa School Board.

Carol was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

He was preceded in death by her mother, Vineta Faye McGuire.

She is survived by her father, Elvon Leroy "Bud" McCraw of Konawa; husband, Jerry McCraw of the home; three daughters, Carolyn Johnston, Robbie Sanders and Ronda Jackson, all of Konawa; two brothers, James McGuire of Lexington and Ronnie McGuire of Sanger, Texas; seven grandchildren, Robert, Jennifer and Jason Johnston, Julia and Lee Jackson and Paige and Shelby Sanders.

Serving as casket bearers will be Robert Johnston, Bob Bassett, Alan Bassett, Ronnie Mitchusson, Darrell Mackey and Al Lucas.

Honorary Bearers will be Matthew Kuestersteffen, Sott Sanders, Bruce McCraw, Ryan McGuire, Emmitt McCraw, Glen McCraw, Dean McCraw, Jimmy McCraw, James McGuire and Ronnie McGuire.

Donations may be made to the Sacred Hearts Cemetery Fund.

Lucilla McGirt

Funeral services for native and longtime Seminole County resident, Lucilla West McGirt, of Holdenville, are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 20 at Cedar Creek Eufaula Baptist Church in Konawa, with Revs. Dorsey Nero and Houston Tiger officiating.

A wake service will be held at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, March 18 at 6:30 p.m.

She will be taken to Cedar Creek Eufaula Baptist Church, Konawa, on Friday, March 19 at 4 p.m. for all night wake services starting at 7:30 p.m.

Interment will be in the Douglas family cemetery under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home in Wewoka.

McGirt died Tuesday, March 16, 2004, at the age of 49 at the OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City.

She was born on March 20, 1954, to Thomas and Agnes (Douglas) West, in Seminole.

She was reared in the Konawa area and attended Summer Chapel, Konawa and Pleasant Grove Schools, graduating from Pleasant Grove High School in 1972 and later from Wes Watkins Vo-Tech.

She married Bobby McGirt, on December 11, 1976, in Oklahoma City.

She was employed by Heritage Village Nursing Center in Holdenville, as a Certified Nursing Assistant.

She was a member of Cedar Creek Eufaula Baptist Church, Konawa.

She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas West; one grandson, Jesse Walker; and one brother, Jesse West.

She is survived by her husband, Bobby McGirt, of the home, three children, Robbie Walker of Elk City, and Stacy McGirt and Patrick McGirt, both of Holdenville; five grandchildren; her mother, Agnes West of Konawa; ten brothers and nine sisters, Terry West and Frank West, both of Konawa, Carl Wood, Robert West Jr., Joyce West, Mae West, Shawn West, Teresa Tainpeah and Emma Foster, all of Shawnee, Ronald West of Tupelo, Denise Gentry, Carolyn West and Tammie West, all of Seminole, Johnnie Mae Howell, Las Vegas, Nev, Marilee Jones and Mickey Conley, both of Wewoka, Ryan West, Norman, Brenda Jesse and Kenneth Lindsey of Oklahoma City, Willett Walker of Ada and Woodrow West of Wolf; her grandmother, Emma Foster of Shawnee; and other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Anthony McGirt, Randy McGirt, Christon Welch, Shane Warledo, Matt Welch, and Michael Yarbrough.

Honorary Bearers will be Ronnie Burgess, Joe Silva, Arthur Williams, and William Howell.

Willie McMahon

Funeral services for former Seminole County resident, Willie Ann McMahon are scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb.25 at the Stout-Phillips Funeral Chapel in Wewoka with Johnny Hinton officiating.

Interment will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.

She died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2004, at the age of 86 at the Evergreen Care Center in Owasso.

McMahon was born Sept. 23, 1917, in Talequah to Samuel and Bunia (Mason) Carr.

She was raised in the Pharoah area and attended Pharoah Schools.

She married William "Bud" McMahon in 1933 in Henryetta.

She moved to Wewoka in the early 70s and was a member of the Church of Christ in Wewoka.

She was baptized on Aug. 4, 1974 by Mack Lyon.

She was a homemaker and loved to sing, embroidery and cook.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Marshell and Bunia Carr; her husband, William "Bud" McMahon; two daughters, Shirley Capps and Billie Jean Ware; one great granddaughter; three sisters, Ethel Dancey, Gertrude Sanders and Nora Carr; and six brothers, Everett, Earl, Edie, Ervin, Harold Eugene and Sammy Carr.

She is survived by her daughter, Wilma Ramsey of Owasso; one sister, Mildred Willeford of Moore; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Lance Ramsey, Jason Ramsey, Henry Ramsey, Dennis Willeford, Danny Willeford and Dean Willeford.

Dale McSperitt

Funeral services for longtime Seminole County resident, Dale H. McSperitt are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 24 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Long and Tim Tate officiating.

Interment will follow at the Little Cemetery, north of Seminole under the direction of the Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.

McSperitt died Saturday, March 20, 2004, at the age of 75 at the Seminole Medical Center.

He was born Dec. 18, 1928 in Stonewall to Henry Roland and Alta Mae (Vaughn) McSperitt.

He attended school in Lawrence.

He married Velta Le (Miller) McSperitt on June 10, 1950 in Carengie.

He was affiliated with the First Assembly of God and was a member of the American Miniature Horse Association and American Miniature Horse Registry.

He was a farmer, rancher and raised and showed miniature horses.

Preceding him in death were his parents, four brothers and two sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Velta McSperitt of the home/ son and daughter-in-law, Randall Dale and Justine McSperitt of Seminole; two granddaughters, Marissa and Megan McSperitt of Seminole; two brothers, Paul McSperitt of Seminole and Ray McSperitt of Cement; sister Lorene Hungerford of Bethany, several nieces and nephews and many friends and neighbors.

Casket bearers will be Robert Anson, Chris Bowden, Chris Carter, Steve Carlson, Tommy Kanard and Kevin Taylor.

Honorary bearers will be Ervin Clayton, Joe Johnson, Vernon James, Sonny Miller, Don Pinkerton and Carl Seyfert.

Dale McSperitt

Randall Dale McSperitt

Funeral services for Seminole resident Randall Dale McSperitt, 49, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to follow at Little Cemetery.

McSperitt died Nov. 3, 2004 at Seminole Medical Center. He was born in Anadarko on Dec. 1, 1954 to Dale Henry and Velta Lee (Miller) McSperitt.

He married Justine Dian Elder on May 7, 1988 in Bixby. McSperitt worked in car sales at United Motors for 10 years and raised miniature horses. He was a member of First Assembly of God church and of the American Miniature Horse association.

His father preceded him in death on March 20, 2004.

Surviving him are his mother Velta McSperitt of Seminole; his wife Justine McSperitt; two daughters, Marissa and Megan McSperitt, all of the home; father-in-law and mother-in-law Don and Dora Elder of Collinsville.

Casket bearers for the service will be Bill McIntyre, Gene Staggs, Tim Abney, Sammy Ehtisham, Kenny Green and Chris Carter.

Byron Mealy

A memorial service for Byron Mealy will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, April 26, 2004, at Hahn-Cook/Street and Draper Chapel, 6006 N. Grand Blvd., Oklahoma City.

Mealy was born January 30, 1948 in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

He died April 23, 2004 after battling a brain tumor.

Byron was raised in Oklahoma City and attended NW Classen High School.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1962 and served 3 ½ years in Vietnam.

Byron was preceded in death by his father, James O. Barnett.

He is survived by his parents, Mr. And Mrs. Jack Starr of Oklahoma City; one brother, Rick Mealy; one sister, Lynn Bates; aunt and uncles including Billye and Don Noland, and Frances and Hoyte Mayfield; a host of nieces and nephews, Laura R. Mealy, Chris and Melony Morriss, as well as countless friends.
