Services for Edna Hinsley, of Hugo, were at 2 p.m. Feb. 21, 2003 at the Miller & Miller Funeral Home Chapel in Hugo. Interment followed at Shoat Springs Cemetery.
Edna Hinsley died Feb. 18, 2003 at Homestead Nursing Home in Hugo. She was 89.
Edna Hinsley was born Dec. 13, 1913 and had lived all of her life in Hugo. she married Elmer Dee Hinsley in 1940. He preceded her in death on June 7, 1999.
She is survived by two brothers, Lonnie Sconyers of Atwater, Calif. and Charlie Sconyers of Abilene, Texas; and one sister, Aline Perrin of Abilene, Texas.

Catherine Lester
Services for Catherine Lester, of Soper, were at 2 p.m. Feb. 22, 2003 at the Miller & Miller funeral chapel in Hugo. Bro. Mutt Wallace officiated the ceremony. Interment followed at Goodland Cemetery.

Catherine Lester died Feb. 18 at her home in Soper. She was 77.
Catherine Lester was born Nov. 15, 1925 in Hugo to Tom Nelson and Amanda “Lizzy” (Pryor) Nelson. She married R.B. Lester Nov. 27, 1943 in Hugo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters and five brothers.
She is survived by five sons, Robert Lester of Hugo, Ronnie Lester of Paris, Texas, John Wayne Lester, Roy Lester and Weldon Lester, all of Hugo; five daughters, Lynda Bridges of Hugo, Kay Lester of Hugo, Terri Babb of Soper, Sherri Lester of Hugo and Helen Taylor of Soper; one sister, Irene Reaves of Floydada, Texas; two brothers, Lloyd Nelson of Floydada, Texas and Gene Nelson of Lubbock, Texas; 39 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Dan Moore died Feb. 17, 2003 at his home in Hugo. He was 71.
Dan Moore, a retired diesel mechanic and Air Force Veteran from the Korean War, was born March 11, 1931 in Heflin, Ala. He married Regina Herndon Oct. 6, 1951 in Wichita Falls, Texas.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Katie Sue Moore.
He is survived by his wife, Alma Regina Moore; one daughter, Kim Moore of Hugo; five sons, Tim Moore and his wife Lucinda of Hugo, Phillip Moore and his wife Marsha of Hugo, Michael Moore of Dallas, Texas, Jayme Moore of Hugo and Robin Moore and his wife Lacresha of Powderly, Texas; two brothers, Tommy Moore and Curtis Moore, both of Aniston, Ala.; one sister, Mary Faulk of Aniston, Ala.; 18 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Dorothy Faye Short
Graveside services for Dorothy Faye Short, of Valliant, were at 10 am. Feb. 21, 2003 at the Valliant Cemetery. The Rev. Troy Ruffin officiate the ceremony.

Dorothy Faye Short died Feb. 18, 2003 at Parkview Care Center in Valliant. She was 76.
Dorothy was born Feb. 23, 1926 in Clarksville, Texas to Wyllie David Upton and Evie Bell (Smith) Upton. She married Ernest Short July 8, 1944.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her son, Preston Short.
She is survived by three sons, David Short of Broken Bow, Edward Short and William Short, both of Valliant; two daughters, Darlene Hamrick of Valliant and Fay McRee of Swink; Lurene Petty of Valliant, Margaret Mayberry of Valliant and JoAnn Jones of Rock Island; 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Hayward Reed
Services for Hayward Reed, of the Gay Community, were at 10 a.m. Feb. 22, 2003. Rev. Massey officiated the ceremony. Interment followed at the Gay cemetery.
Hayward Reed died Feb. 12, 2003 at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa. He was 57.
He is survived by three sons, Hayward Reed, Jr. of McAlister and Craig & Willie of Hugo; three brothers, William & Carl Reed of the Gay community and Cyrus Wright of Oklahoma City; five sisters, Opal Buckner, Betty Chinn, Armethia Counter, Carolyn Wright and Detris Jackson, all of Oklahoma City; seven aunts; two uncles and a host of nieces and nephews.

Ollie Irene Justice
Services for Ollie Irene Justice, of Hugo, were at 2 p.m. Feb. 21, 2003 at the First Assembly of God Church in Hugo. Interment followed at the Fort Towson Cemetery.
Ollie Justice was born Oct. 8, 1909 in Arkansas to Ernest and Stella (Walker) Dickey.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Curtis Justice; two sons, James Curtis Justice, Jr. and Billy Rodgers Justice; two daughters, Geneva Easterwood and Ann Harrel.
She is survived by one son, Eddie Justice of Hugo; two daughters, Nadine Hill of Braggs and Margaret Grayson of Powderly, Texas; 31 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
