Leroy Osborne

Funeral services for former Seminole County resident, Leroy Osborne were scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 16 at the Greater Apostolic Faith Church in Oklahoma City.

Services were under the direction of Howard-Harris Funeral Home in Oklahoma City.

Osborne died Saturday, March 8, 2004, at the age of 73.

He was the fourth child of eight born to Sam and Lueser Osborne.

He was born Nov. 11, 1930, in Sasakwa.

Osborne was a member of the Caesar-Bruner Band of the Seminole Nation.

He attended Thomas Chapel School in Sasakwa and received Jesus Christ at the Seminole Baptist Church.

He was united in holy matrimony with Mayola Hampton Osborne on Jan. 15, 1952, and to this union four children were born.

He was certified in Executive Housekeeping at the Hissom Memorial Center in Sand Springs on May 28, 1968, and continued these services at St. John Hospital for nine years.

He worked for the Midwest City Police Department for 11 years and became self-employed until 1985.

He gave his life to Jesus Christ in June, 1985.

His father, mother, four brothers, one sister and one grandson preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Mayola Hampton Osborne of the home; children, NaDean Osborne Ramsey, LeEtta Osborne and Melvin Sampson, Vernadean Osborne, Tonua Osborne and Terrance Ponder, all of Del City, two brothers, Tom Osborne and John Osborne, 11 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Cora Osteen

Graveside services for Seminole County resident, Cora Osteen of Wewoka, will be held at 10 a.m., on Wednesday, June 15, at Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Larry Chesser officiating, under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.

Osteen, died on Saturday, June 12, 2004, at the age of 39, at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City.

She was born on July 3, 1964, in Santa Monica, Calif., to Fitzgerald and Louise (Franks) Osteen.

She has been a resident of Elmwood Manor for the last two years and a previous resident of Oakridge Home for two years.

She enjoyed talking and being with people, never meeting a stranger.

She loved church services, going for rides, books, visits to the library, and watching the square dancers twirl.

Her father precedes her in death.

She is survived by her mother and stepfather of Santa Monica, CA, her brothers Michael, Fitzgerald Jr., Wayne, and Herbert; and sister, Elizabeth, all of Santa Monica, California, her special friend, Joe Hart, and her Elmwood Manor and Oakridge Home families.

Pamela Owens

Graveside services for Pamela Susanne Owens who lived must outside Sasakwa, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, at the Greenleaf Cemetery, southwest of Spaulding with Rev. Wesley Martin officiating.

Services were under the direction of the Fisher Funeral Home of Holdenville.

Owens died Saturday, April 3, 2004, at the age of 50 at Valley View Regional Hospital in Ada

She was born on Aug. 31, 1953, in Long Beach, Calif. to Lucille Alta (Camp) Morris and Henry Oxford Morris.

She was brought up in California, and moved to the Holdenville area in 1994.

She has worked out of her home as a Medical Transcriptionist since 2000.

Next to family and friends, Pamela loved her horses more than anything else, along with her Heeler dog, "Jesse".

She loved barrel racing in Oklahoma and throughout the United States.

She was a card-holding member of the WPRCA (Women’s Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association, and also of the BBR (Better Barrel Racing Association), the C4D (Central 4 D), and the NBHA (National Barrel Horses Association).

She is survived by her daughter, Jolene Storment of California; her grandchildren; her brother, Jimmy Morris, of Holdenville; two aunts: Dora Addington of Shawnee, and Inez Stotts of Boring, Oregon; and a very special friend, Joe Cunningham of Box Springs, Ga; as well as other relatives and many friends.

Jesse J. Page

Services for Jesse J. Page, former Wewoka resident, are scheduled to begin 2 p.m. Saturday at the Calvary Faith Pentecostal Church in Fr. Gibson. Page died Wednesday at age 81.

Interment is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 7 at the National Cemetery in Ft. Gibson.

Page lived in Tahlequah and worked as a butcher.

Mildred Palmer

Funeral services for lifelong Seminole County resident "Granny" Mildred Berniece Palmer are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Maud with Chase Palmer and Greg Palmer officiating.

Interment is to follow service at Wolf Cemetery in Wolf under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Palmer, 76, died Friday, Dec. 17, 2004 at her home. She was born Sept. 26, 1928 in Konawa to Wesley P. and Allie Ella (Moore) Duncan.

She married L.T. "T-Boy" Palmer on March 21, 1947 in St. Louis. He preceded her in death in 1994. She was a housewife and a member of the First Baptist Church of Maud.

Preceding her in death are her husband, parents, three sisters and one brother.

Her survivors include: two sons, Terry Palmer and wife Tricia and Travis Palmer and wife Cheryl, all of Maud; three daughters, Janet Brock, Robin and Jerry Pack, all of Maud and Holli and Michael Jackson of Bethel; three brothers, Wesley Duncan of Tecumseh, Freddie Duncan of Havana, Fla. and Jimmy Duncan of Wofford Heights, Calif.; and two sisters, Shirley Carnes of Upland, Calif. and Patsy Arbuckle of Commanche.

In addition 16 grandchildren, Todd Brock, Ty and Maleea Brock, Stacy Palmer, Trent Palmer, Michael Palmer, Chris Palmer and Tavie Palmer, Tara and Paul Jordan, Cassie Pack, Jeffrey Pack, Brook Palmer and Royce Street, Nicole Palmer, Trevor Palmer, Jared Jackson, Kelsey Jackson and Seth Jr. T. Jackson; four great-grandchildren, Matthew Palmer, Macey Jordan, Reese Street, and one expected in January 2005; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends survive her.

Acting as casket bearers will be Alan Bassett, Ty Brock, Stacy Palmer, Jeff Pack, Jared Jackson, Chris Palmer, Michael Palmer, Paul Jordan, Trevor Palmer and Seth Jackson.

Honorary bearers for the services will be Tara Pack, Cassie Pack, Brook Palmer, Nicole Palmer, Kelsey Jackson, Tavie Palmer and Maleea Brock.

Stanislawa Paluch

Graveside funeral services for former Seminole County resident Stanislawa "Elizabeth" Paluch are set for 2 p.m. Friday, at Romulus, under the direction of Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home of Maud.

Father Basil Keenan is set to officiate.

Paluch died Monday, Nov. 22, 2004, at the age of 77, at Shawnee Unity North hospital in Shawnee.

She was born on Sept. 20, 1927, in Warsaw, Poland.

She was married to John Paluch in Poland. John preceded her in death in 1985.

Mrs. Paluch was a housekeeper at Shawnee Regional Hospital for 17 years, retiring in 1993.

Besides her husband, Paluch was preceded in death by her parents, one son: Stephan Paluch, twin brothers, and one sister.

She is survived by a son, Mark Paluch, of Macomb; four daughters: Krystyna Paluch of Macomb, and Teresa Wieck, Elizabeth Cichocki, and Yolanda Horetski, all of Michigan; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Nancy Parrish

Funeral services for lifelong Seminole resident, Nancy Edna (Mills) Underwood Parrish are scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday, May 24, at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Gary Smith and Ray Belford officiating.

Interment will follow at the Little Cemetery, north of Seminole under the direction of the Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.

Parrish died Thursday, May 20, 2004, at the age of 89 at her home in Seminole.

She was born April 22, 1915, in Sylvin to Rufus Melvin Mills and Bertie Mae (Arnold) Mills.

She married her first husband, Clarence Ray Underwood in 1936.

She married her second husband, Luther J. Parrish on Dec. 24, 1957, in Seminole.

She was a homemaker and a member of the First Christian Church, Eastern Star, where she was a 50 year Gold Star Sister and the Homemaker Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Clarence Underwood in 1936; second husband, Luther Parrish on May 16, 1992; 11 brothers and 11 sisters.

She is survived by three sons, Mel Underwood of Seminole, Bob Parrish of Mesa, Ariz. and Richard "Dick" Parrish of Hobbs, N.M.; two daughters, Norma Shipman of Seminole and Sandy Russell of Spearman, Texas; one brother, W.C. Mills of San Angelo, Texas; 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Casket bearers will be Kevin Russell, Corbin Russell, Keith Crawford, Kenneth Parrish, Gene West and Rex Mills.

Honorary bearers will be Bob Parrish, J.L. Brock, W.C. Mills, Dr. James Sill, Joe Bynum, Richard Foresee and elders of the First Christian Church.

L.L. ‘Lee’ Payne Jr.

Funeral services for former Seminole resident L.L. "Lee" Payne Jr. are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel.

Rev. David White will officiate. Burial will follow in Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Payne died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, at his home in Moore at the age of 60.

He was born in Seminole on May 25, 1944, to Mayme Irene (McIntosh) and Leamon Levi Payne Sr.

He served in the U.S. Navy from January 1962 to August, 1970 and received the National Defense Service medal, the Vietnam Service medal, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign medal and the Navy Unit Commendation ribbon.

He worked at Tinker Air Force Base in the ‘70s, then owned and operated J&K Janitorial Service. He retired in 1981.

He was a member of Sooner Old Timers, a CB amateur radio club.

He married Phyllis "Elaine" Stroud on Feb. 2, 1981, in Shawnee, she survives him, of the home.

Other survivors include three sons, John Payne, Lindsay, Bryan Payne, Eufaula, and Matthew Payne, Moore; one brother, Donald "D.R." Payne, Seminole; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will include Matthew, Bryan, John and Donald Payne, Charles Guy and Clark Graham.

Honorary bearers will Include Charles Perkey and William Porter.
