Funeral services for Seminole County resident, Louella Porter, of Konawa are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, June 24 at the Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ed George officiating.
Wake services will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 22 at the Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Chapel.
Interment will follow at the Porter family cemetery under the direction of the Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.
Porter died Monday, June 21, 2004, at the age of 78 at Integris Baptist Health Center in Oklahoma City.
She was born Sept. 4, 1925, in Rose to James Smith and Betty (Jumper) Smith.
She married Bunny Porter on May 12, 1955, in Miami.
She worked at Michaels Casuals in Konawa and Lillian Russell sewing factory in Wewoka for several years.
She was a Konawa resident for over 47 years and was a member of the Snake Creek Baptist Church in Locust Grove.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bunny Porter on Oct. 14, 1978; three daughters, Wanda, Linda and Cynthia Porter; and one brother, Bobby Porter.
She is survived by five sons, Billy Porter of Ada, Mark Porter, Gus Porter and Alan Porter, all of Konawa and Terry Porter of Pine Ridge, SD; two daughters, Martha Poolaw of Norman and Lou Ann Porter of Gardena, Calif. one grandson she raised, Josh Wolf of Konawa; two brothers, Troy Smith and Roy Smith, both of Broken Arrow; three isters, Louise Wilson and Jo Ann Wilkerson, both of Rose and Jan Smith of broken Arrow; 19 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Pall bearers will be Matthew Foster, Tim Harjo, Perry Cowan, James Parsons, Greg Dodd and Tim Carpitche.
Honorary bearers will be Beverly Cowan and her grandsons.
Elva Powell
Funeral services for former Seminole resident, Elva Mae Powell of Oklahoma City are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 14 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will follow at the Darwin Cemetery in Darwin at 1 p.m. under the direction of the Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.
Powell died Thursday, June 10, 2004, at the age of 88 at the Grace Living Center in Oklahoma City.
She was born March 24, 1916, in Krum Creek to John Wood Sullivan and Addie (Baker) Sullivan.
She was married to Jerald Benton Powell on May 15, 1937, and was married 42 years.
She was a retired bookkeeper for Alford Propane Company in Kiowa.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kiowa and attended Harvey Road Baptist Church while living in Seminole from 1985 –1999.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerald Powll on Jan. 8, 1979; one son, Carl "Butch" Powell; two brothers and six sisters.
She is survived by two sons, Jery Powell of Tulsa and Jim Powell of Claremore; two daughters, Shirley Brooks of Moore and Linda Huskey of McAlester; one brother, Eugene Sullivan of Ponca City; two sisters, June Johnson of Seminole and Marie Powell of Webb City, Mo.; nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Marie Powell
Marie Powell, 83, former Seminole County resident, passed away at St Anthony Hospital in Amarillo, Texas, June 28, 2004.
She was born on June 26, 1921 to Thomas and Susey "Buck" Yarbrough.
She attended school at Wewoka. She was employed as a custodian for Phillips 66 in Borger, Texas, until her retirement in 2002.
She was a member of Hilltop Presbyterian Church in Wewoka. Her husband Simpson Powell preceded her in death in 1999.
Wake services will be held at 6:30 p.m. tonight at Stout-Phillips Funeral Chapel in Wewoka.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 2, 2004 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
Interment will be at the Buck Family Cemetery with Rev. Houston Tiger officiating. under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home, Wewoka.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Susey Yarbrough; her husband Simpson Powell; four brothers John, Paul, Frank, James Yarbrough, and Jerry Frank; and one sister Cora Jean Zahn.
She is survived by one son, James Harrison of Borger, Texas; three grandchildren; one brother, Holland Cloud, of Arkansas City, Kans; two sisters, Pauline Yarbrough Wapskinney of Shawnee, Gertrude Bagley of Huntsville, Ala.; and three great-greatgrandchildren

Mary Ann Price
Funeral services for former Seminole County resident Mary Ann Price are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, April 5 at Cornerstone Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Dunn officiating.
Interment will follow at 4 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka under the direction of Henninger-Allen Funeral Home of Enid.
Price died April 1, 2004, at the age of 54 at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Enid.
She was born on August 9, 1949, in Andrews, Texas to Jack and Marion Moreland Sawyer.
She graduated from Wewoka High School in 1966 and had been in Rainbow.
She had been attended Seminole Junior College before she married William Franklin Price, MD on March 4, 1989, in Norman.
In 1992, they moved to Enid where her husband worked for Enid Medical Clinic until 1994, when they moved to Madill.
In 1999 they moved back to Enid to be a part of the Enid Family Medicine Clinic.
She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Sawyer, one grandson Zachary Bartley, and her grandparents.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. William Price of the home; four children, Jackie Stanford of Sand Springs, Tammie Grissom of Madill, and Frankie and Kody Price both of the home; eight grandchildren; her mother and step-father; and other relatives and friends.
Memorials may be given to Cornerstone Baptist Church with the Funeral Home custodian of the funds.
Dorothy Pryor
Funeral services for Dorothy Dean Pryor are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Holdenville.
Burial will follow at Holdenville Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Hundson-Phillips Funeral Home of Holdenville and Reverend Joe Robinson will officiate.
Pryor passed away Friday, June 18, in Holdenville, at the age of 84.
She was born in Holdenville to Fred T. Treadwell and Daisy Dean Treadwell on Jan. 17, 1920.
She was a resident of Holdenville all her life.
She graduated from Holdenville High School where she was voted most popular girl and football queen.
Pryor later attended Chickasha Women’s School.
On Dec. 14, 1942, she married her high school sweetheart, Gale Pryor, in Holdenville.
She was a lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church and attended the fellowship class.
She was a charter member of the Holdenville Society of Painters and Sculptors and also a charter member of the Pink Ladies Auxiliary, in charge of the gift shop for many years.
She was a talented artist and avid bridge player.
Pryor was also a member of the Rose Unit Garden Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Pat Booth.
Pryor is survived by her husband, Gale Pryor, her sister, Mary Evelyn Hyde, and her brother, Tommy Treadwell, all of Holdenville, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Dallas Pryor, Scott Treadwell, Kent Treadwell, Gary Hyde, Kenny Gale Pryor, and Guy Pryor.
Jillian Quintero
Funeral services for Jillian Paige Quintero, three-month-old daughter of former Seminole resident Amie Waddell Quintero and her husband, Jason, are scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Monday at the Edgemere Church of Christ in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Joe Williams will officiate and burial will follow Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Hampton-Vaughn Funeral Home.
The baby was born Oct. 22, 2003, in Wichita Falls, and died Jan. 23, 2004.
She is survived by her parents, Jason and Amie Quintero, of the home in Wichita Falls; one sister, Kallie Breanne Quintero, of the home; grandparents, Larry and Janet Waddell of Seminole, Debbie Quintero and Danny and Tracy Quintero, all of Wichita Falls.
Great-grandparents are Norman Waddell and Wanda Swearingen, both of Seminole; Edwin and Mildred Quintero, Wichita Falls; and Ed Faircloth of Watauga, Texas.
Other survivors include aunts and uncles, Chris and Terrie Waddell, Shawnee; Lisa and Chris Wilbur and Dustin Bryant, all of Wichita Falls; cousins, Sidney and Luke Waddell, Shawnee, and Chance Jordan Wilbur of Wichita Falls; and numerous great-aunts, uncles, cousins and family friends.
She was preceded in death by her great-grandfather, Gene Swearingen, Seminole, in 1997; great-grandmother, Lola Waddell, Seminole, in 2003; great-grandmother, Patsy Faircloth of Watauga, in 1997; and a great-grandfather John Henry of Wichita Falls, in 1994.

Royal Lafayette Ramsey
Funeral service for Wewoka resident Royal Lafayette "R.L." Ramsey is set for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Stout-Phillips Chapel in Wewoka. Officiating minister will be Jimmy Freeman.
Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery following the service.
R.L. Ramsey, a Wewoka resident, passed away at Elmwood Nursing home in Wewoka on Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004, at the age of 90.
He was born Nov. 23, 1914, in Big Flat, Ark., to Henry and Rachel Rose Ramsey. He attended school in Sasakwa.
During World War II, he did machine work at Kiser shipyard in Oakland, Calif.
After the war, he worked for 28 years in the oil machine shop.
R.L. married Sera Francis Ramsey on Sept. 8, 1933. He was a devoted husband of 71 years, a great father and a loving and understanding grandfather.
He was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church.
He was preceeded in death by his parents Henry Allen and Rachel Rose Ramsey; one son, Gerald Ramsey; and seven brothers and sisters, Dessie Jane Tilley, Joseph William Ramsey, Bessie Mae Ashworth, Caldona "Donie" Copeland, Goldman Ramsey, Rufus Allen Ramsey and Retha Armstrong.
Survivors include his wife, Sera "Francis" Ramsey; three sons and daughters in law, Donald and wife Alta Ramsey of Shawnee, Charles and wife Rita Ramsey of Montrose, Colo., and Elvie and wife Shirley of Konawa; and eight grandchildren, Carl Ramsey, Michael Ramsey, Terecia Nation, Debbie Choate, Becki Self, Ray Ramsey, Kim Jones and David Ramsey.
Pallbearers include Carl Don Ramsey, Mike Ramsey, Ray Ramsey, David Ramsey, Dustin Ramsey and Daniel Choate.
Honorary Pallbearers include Craig Choate and Michael Jones.
