Daniel Robertson

Funeral services for longtime Seminole County resident, Daniel F. "Dee" Robertson of Wewoka are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 7 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Chesser officiating.

Interment will follow at the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole under the direction of the Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Robertson died Saturday, April 3, 2004, at the age of 91 in Wewoka.

He was born May 23, 1912, in Wolf City, Texas to David Samuel Robertson and May Fleta (Davis) Robertson.

He was married to Carrie Elizabeth Robertson who preceded him in death on June 8, 1989.

He was a retired Carpenter and a member of Gleaners Holiness Church in Wewoka.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Jimmy Robertson and Sammy Robertson, his wife, Carrie; five brothers, Ode Robertson, Jack Robertson, John Robertson, Clarence Skates and George (Williams) Robertson

Robertson is survived by two sons, Daniel Perry Robertson of Tennessee and Don Wayne Robertson of Shawnee; three daughters, Fleta Walker of Cave Springs, Ark., Sadie Chesser of Wewoka and Carol Palmer of Virginia Beach, Va.; four sisters, Vonia Gough and Vera Sager, both of California, Iris Shepherd of Texas and Jacqueline Matthews of Oklahoma City; 20 grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Casket bearers will be grandsons and great grandsons.

Helen Roesler

Helen Marie Roesler went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004.

Funeral service was scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, at 10 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Rev. Gary Wilburn was scheduled to officiate. Burial followed at Maple Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Roesler was born June 25, 1905, in Tobias, Neb. to Emil and Emma (Janda) Yeck.

As a young girl she attended Peru State Teacher’s College in Peru, Neb.

Following graduation, she taught Home Economics in Wilcox and Huntley, Neb.

She married Edwin H. Roesler on June 19, 1926, and they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in 1996.

Helen and Ed moved to Seminole from Wilcox, Neb. in 1936, making them residents of Seminole County for 68 years.

Mrs. Roesler was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Seminole until she became physically unable to attend in 1997.

She was a member of the Wedding Ring Class and the Martha Group of the United Methodist Women.

Gardening was Mrs. Roesler’s passion. She was a natural in that everything she planted seemed to thrive.

Sharing cuttings, bulbs and seeds from her garden gave her much pleasure.

She was a member of the Seminole Garden Club, Pansy Unit, and won numerous awards for her arrangements during the flower shows.

She continued to put out a vegetable garden into her 94th year with the help of her friend, Robert Bishop.

Mrs. Roesler was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin H. Roesler on Aug. 10, 1996, and oldest son, Larry Dean Roesler on June 20, 1994.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Leilani Roesler of Seminole; one grandson and his wife, Steven and Sue Roesler of McKinney, Texas; two great-granddaughters, Ashley and Meghan Roesler of McKinney, Texas; one nephew, Gordon Rowley of Bailey’s Harbor, Wis.; and one brother-in-law, Ernest Roesler of Norman.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 1314, Seminole, 74818.

Casket bearers were Robert Bishop, Carmen Nartaro, Jim Robertson, Buster Wilcox and Hugh Megee. Honorary bearer is Emery Magruder.

Violet "Vi" Rogers

Funeral services for lifelong Seminole resident Violet "Vi" Rogers are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at Immanuel Fellowship Church with Kenneth Fent, Jeff and James Williams officiating.

Interment to follow at Maple Grove Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Rogers, 86, died Oct. 14, 2004 at her home. She was born in Seminole County on Nov. 28, 1917 to William and Effie (McCants) Caffey.

She married Buel Williams in October 1934, and they had four children before divorcing.

In 1967 she married Haskell Rogers who preceded her in death in 1987. She was a housewife and restaurant owner.

Surviving her is son Jim Williams of Konawa; three daughters, Joyce Harbeston and Sondra McKee both of Seminole, and Keitha Watts of Holdenville; two step-sons Harlan Rogers of Nashville, Tenn. and Geary Rogers of Oklahoma City.

In addition are her sister Maud Wood of Oklahoma City; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and four great great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers for the services will be Tony Watts, David Schoonover, Jason Williams, Josh Williams, Mitchell Hennen, and Danny Isaacs.

Honorary bearers are to be William Gordon, Scotty Isaacs, T. Isaacs, Andrew Hennen, Mark Hennen, Caleb Fent, Adam Gordon, and Richy Watts.

Dolphie Rounsivill

Funeral services for Seminole resident, Dolphie M. Rounsivill are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan 10 at the Swearing Funeral Chapel in Seminole with Rev. Dwayne Bobbit officiating.

Interment will follow at the Little Cemetery, north of Seminole, under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.

Rounsivill died Wednesday, Jan 7, 2004, at the age of 77 at Seminole Estates Nursing Center in Seminole.

She was born May 3, 1926, in Hartshorne to Rudolph L. Hyatt and Gail (Busha).

She married Earl Rounsivill on Oct. 12, 1991 in Seminole.

Rounsivill lived in California before moving to Seminole a number of years ago.

She was a Homemaker, a member of the Hill Top Assembly of God Church in Earlsboro, as well as a member of Eastern Star Seminole Chapter #452.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Diana Jean Phillips in 1998; one sister, Louise Chandler; and her parents.

She is survived by her spouse, Earl Rounsivill of Seminole; two sons, Sonny and Jack Begley of Vacaville, Calif.; one brother, Dennis Hyatt of Midwest City; two sisters, Virginia Bobbitt of Seminole and Deloris Graves of ElDorado, Kans.; nine grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.

Ralph Sheridan Roush

Ralph Sheridan Roush, a longtime resident and community supporter of Wewoka, passed away Aug. 29, 2004, at Wewoka Nursing Center.

Funeral services will be held at Wewoka Church of Christ, Thursday, Sept. 2, at 10 a.m., with Brother Mack Lyon and Brother Jimmy Hinton officiating.

Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home of Wewoka.

Ralph was born July 15, 1918, in Rudolph, Ohio, and moved to Wewoka as a child.

He worked with his father and subsequently owned and operating Roush Machine & Oilfield Supply in Wewoka, a company specializing in oilfield manufacturing and repair, and production operations.

He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, a member of the American Legion Harrison-Bell Post 122 for 58 years, one of five parade marshals in the 2003 Sorghum Festival parade honoring the oil and gas industry, a member of the Wewoka Chamber of Commerce, one of several founders of Excellence in Education, a strong supporter of the Wewoka High School Alumni Association, the Wewoka Tigers Quarterback Club, a member of the Downtown Investment Group, and was a longtime member of Wewoka Church of Christ.

His wife of 48 years, Vestle Collier Roush, his parents Howard and Orpha Roush, and longtime companion Owilda Cummings, predeceased him.

He is survived by his son Charles Collier and his wife Linda of Vienna, Va.; daughter Brenda Jackson and her husband, Wes, of Houston, Texas; grandchildren Charlotte Lesando, Keith Collier, Christi Crisler, and Sherri Walton, six great-grandchildren, longtime friend Deanna Curtain, and his sister Virginia Bryant of Tampa, Fla.

Pallbearers will be Guy Tucker, Fred Lacquement, Cato Jones, Doyle Cook, Glen Cook, Larry Bailey, and Rowdy Kincade.

Honorary bearers will be Paul Loeffelholz, Dale Williams, John Lively, Bill Huser, Max Smith, Ray Stafford, Cecil Moore, Jim Cox, Floyd Snider, Eddie Neill, James Harrod, A.B. Chaney, Dewey Muirhead, John Hargrave, Greg Arbuckle, Romey Lively, David Curry, Raymond Cain, Ted Tucker, Durward Tucker, Art Garner, Ernest Moore, and Barry Tucker.

Teresa Rowton

Graveside services for a Seminole State College student, Teresa Marie Rowton, of Shawnee are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 2 at the Little Cemetery with Rev. Kris Steele officiating.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.

She died Monday, May 31, 2004, at the age of 40 at OU Medical Center-Presbyterian in Oklahoma City.

She was born Nov. 4, 1963, in Arcadia, Calif. to June Pauline (Blaine) Thompson.

Rowton was engaged to John Briscoe.

She was a caregiver for the elderly until she became disabled.

She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Shawnee, as well as a member of PAWS (Preservation Animal Welfare Society).

She lived most of her live in Shawnee and was currently a student at SSC.

She is survived by her mother, Julie Thompson; fiance’, John Briscoe, both of Shawnee; three brothers, Frank Aaron Mills of Shawnee, Randall Lee Mills of Oklahoma City and Lenord Paul Mills of Mustang; two sisters, Teddie Marie Gamel of Garland, Texas and Lynn Goodnight of Bethel; her family at Wesley United Methodist Church; as well as many other relatives and friends.

Honorary casket bearers will be Thomas Gamel, Bill Goodnight, Frank Aaron Mills, Randall Lee Mills and Lenord Paul Mills.

Casket will be open until service time, but once closed, it will not be re-opened.

Donations may be made to Swearingen Funeral Home to help family with funeral expenses.

Antoine Roy, Sr.

Funeral services for Cromwell resident Antoine "Buster" Roy, Sr. are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Poteet Funeral Chapel in Pawnee with Rev. J.B.Fish officiating.

Interment is set to follow services at Otoe-Missouria Cemetery in Red Rock.

Roy, 73, died Monday, Dec. 13, 2004 at his home. He was born April 5, 1931 in Pawnee to James Roy, Sr. and Florence Arkakeeta Roy.

He attended and graduated from red Rock High School and served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Roy married Anna Charty on March 4, 1961 in Ponca City. They moved to Cromwell 13 years ago. He is a member of Little Quarsarty Baptist Church.

He was interested in all sports, and was an avid Oklahoma State University fan. In his later years he especially enjoyed playing horseshoes.

His wife; three daughters, Debra Horne of Seminole, Rose "Charli" Millican of Inola and Allison Roy of Ada; four sons, Antoine Roy, Jr. of Moore, Larry Roy and Morris Roy, both of Oklahoma City and Garry Roy of Cromwell; five grandsons; three granddaughters and one great-grandson all survive him.

Ronald G. Russell

Memorial services will be held on Sat. at 1 p.m. at Grace Community Church in Vamoosa for Ronald G. Russell.

He died at his Roseville, Calif. home on Aug. 6, 2004. He was 61 years old.

Russell was born on Sept. 18, 1942 in Ontario, Calif. to R.D. and Inez (Roulston) Russell. They preceded him in death.

He is survived by sons Jesse Russell of Oklahoma City and Kevin Womack of Shawnee; sister Dixie Flora of Midland, Mich.; brother Frank Russell of Konawa; and a special friend and companion Judy Holt.
