Graveside services for former Seminole resident, Virginia Stone, of Guthrie, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday, May 21 at Memory Gardens Memorial Park in Guthrie with Pastor Gene Owen officiating.
Interment will also be at the Memory Gardens Memorial Park in Guthrie under the direction of Community Funeral Home of Guthrie.
Stone died Saturday, May 15, 2004, at the age of 76 at Cole’s Nursing Home in Logan County.
She was born Aug. 4, 1927, in Deaver, Wyo.
She married Bernie Stone May 16, 1945, in Seminole.
She was a housewife.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bernie Stone Aug. 1966; two brothers, John Jr. and Robert Morton and one sister, Ruth Morton.
She is survived by three sons, Virgil "Bill" Stone of Perry, Jerry Stone of Lytle, Texas and Ricky Stone of Guthrie; one daughter, Della Porter of Guthrie; 15 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; two brothers, Earl Wallace Morton of Tulsa and her twin brother, Virgil Morton of Mesa, Ariz.
Jack E. Stout
Private family services are being scheduled for longtime Seminole resident Jack E. Stout who died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004 at Seminole Estates Nursing Center.
Stout, 87, was born in Shawnee, Aug. 29, 1917 to Chester and Mary Jane Stout.
He worked with sheet metal and when he retired he enjoyed fishing, walking in the pasture with his puppy and the outdoors.
His parents, two sisters and one brother preceded him in death.
Survivors include seven children, Joan Lewis of Aransas Pass, Texas, Jane Brown of Shawnee, Jim Stout of Midwest City, Carolyn Stout of Earlsboro, Calvin Stout and Sandy Prince of Seminole, and Jack A. Stout of Earlsboro; 17 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Frank Streetman
Funeral services for former Seminole County resident were scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, March 19 at Baggerly Funeral Home Chapel in Edmond, with interment following at the Bethany Cemetery.
Streetman died Tuesday, March 16, 2004, at the age of 70 at his home in Edmond.
He was born May 13, 1933, in Sasakwa to Katherine and Morris Streetman.
He graduated from Sasakwa High School in 1951, and a business course at Hill’s Business School.
Streetman served four years in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
After completing his education at OU, he began working for the government as a computer specialist at Tinker Air Force Base, before transferring to the FAA.
He retired from the FAA after more than 30 years of federal service.
He was an avid golfer and belonged to the Kickingbird Seniors Golf and the Oklahoma City Seniors Golf Association.
His mother and father preceded him in death.
He is survived by two sons, Craig of the home and Clark of Oklahoma City; his twin sister, Frances of Edmond; sister Janice of Oklahoma City; brothers Roger, Randall and Gene, all of Sasakwa and Phillip of Poteau.
Frances Stringfield
Funeral services for Seminole resident, Frances Jeanette (Hester) Stringfield are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 7 at the Church of Christ at Little with Rusty Dawson officiating.
Interment will follow at the Little Cemetery under the direction of the Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.
Stringfield died Saturday, April 3, 2004, at the age of 85 in Shawnee.
She was born Feb. 26, 1919, in Granite to Eber and Grace Pearl (Fisher) Hester.
She graduated from Granite High School in 1936 and was baptized that same year at the Granite First Baptist Church
She also attended the Oklahoma College for Women from 1936-1937 then transferred to Oklahoma A & M College (OSU) in Stillwater where she received her B.A. in 1940 with a major in English and minors in Commerce and General Studies.
She did her graduate work at A & M and the University of Oklahoma.
She taught high school English, typing, shorthand and general science in Roosevelt from 1940-1942.
She married James Polk Stringfield Jr. on March 19, 1942, at the First Christian Church in Chickasha.
During World War II, while her husband was in the South Pacific, she worked in the Handbooks Division of the Engineering Department of North American Aviation in Englewood, Calif.
She later worked for Westinghouse in Springfield, Mass. while her husband was stationed at Westover Field near Holyoke, Mass.
Stringfield taught 4th and 5th grades combined and high school typing at Prairie Valley School from 1946-1947.
She taught English, shorthand and general business for four years at Varnum High School from 1947-1951, and from 1951-1964, she was a homemaker and homebound teacher.
In 1964, she began teaching Language Arts at Strother Junior High and retired in 1977.
She was a member of Retired Teachers Association of Oklahoma, Extension Homemakers Association at Prairie Valley and the Church of Christ where she was an elder’s wife until 1977, remaining a member there until her death
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Stringfield on July 5, 1984; one son, James Polk Stringfield III in 1944; four brothers, John, Clyde, Sam and Charles Hester; and four sisters, Floyd, Claudina, Charlese and Beulah.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Susie Stringfield of Spring, Texas; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Mike Cofer of Enid and Cené and Jack Marquis of Seminole; one brother, Carl Hester of Mustang; six grandchildren, Anna, Jeremy, Khara, Michael, Melissa and Scott and a number of nieces, nephews and other family members.
Casket bearers are Michael Stringfield, Scott Stringfield, Jeremy Marquis, Garrick Ritzky, Jason Johnson, Saxon Carter and Luke Hester.
Honorary bearers are her nephews, Charley Maloy, Dick Maloy, Eber Hester, Buddy Hester, Joe Hester, Jim Hester, Jeff Hester, Mike Hester, Creed Carter and Baz Raye Baddell.
Donations may be made to a one time scholastic scholarship for a Strother High School senior.
Christan Sullivan
Graveside services for Seminole resident, Christan (Cox) Sullivan are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, May 21 at the Brown Cemetery with Rev. Rick Hudson officiating.
Services are under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
Sullivan died Monday, May 17, 2004, at the age of 33 in Seminole due to an automobile accident.
She was born March 1. 1971, in Oklahoma City.
She was a graduate of Lone Grove School and attended Oklahoma State University.
She grew up in Marlow and Lone Grove.
Following her marriage, she lived in Commanche for several years, and Alabama before moving to Seminole a year ago.
She married Shannon Sullivan on April 22, 1994, in Wichita Falls, Texas.
She worked for the Earlsboro Tag Agency.
She was a loving and caring mother, wife and daughter who followed her children to all activities, including ball games and cheerleading.
She was preceded in death by an uncle, Ricky Scott and grandparents, Fred Cox, Gayle Scott and Arlie Sullivan.
She is survived by her husband, Shannon Sullivan; two daughters, Shanna Sullivan and Halie Sullivan; and three sons, Joshua Sullivan, Caleb Sullivan and Dalton Sullivan, all of the home.
She is also survived by several friends and other relatives.

Linda Jo Svendsen
Graveside services for Linda Jo (Goodman) Svendsen, sister of Seminole resident Lil Williams, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at the Little Cemetery, Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating.
Swearingen Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Svendsen died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2004, at the Southwestern Convalescent Manor in Oklahoma City. She was 57.
She was born in Oklahoma City Feb. 3, 1947, to Carl Albert Goodman and Felcie Myrtle (VanVliet) Goodman.
In December 1967, she married Craig Svendsen, in Colorado.
Svendsen graduated from Southeast High School in 1965 and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and an infant son.
Svendsen is survived by two daughters, Paula Svendsen and Sherree Allen both of Rifle, Colo.; two brothers, Melvin and Earl Goodman both of Oklahoma City; four sisters, Lil Williams of Seminole, Betty Weese of Oklahoma City, Carol Afinowicz of Choctaw and Jerry Obermeyer of Moore.
Richard Taber
Graveside services former Seminole County resident, Richard J. Taber are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 14 in the Little Cemetery with Bill McDonald officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service of Prague.
Taber died Sunday, April 11, 2004, at the age of 84 at his home in Prague.
He was born April 20, 1919, in Lincoln County, near Chandler to Homer Calvin and Frances "Babe" (Ogden) Taber.
He graduated from Varnum High School in 1937 and married Lois Aldridge in Seminole on Dec. 18, 1941.
Taber served in the United States Army during World War II.
Following his discharge from the army, he worked for many years in the oilfield, including three years overseas.
He returned to Seminole County in 1969 and began ranching and working at Tinker Field.
He later retired from Tinker and devoted full time to his ranching operation until moving to Prague in 1994.
His parents and one brother preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Taber of the home, one son, Dick Taber and wife, Dowanna of Prague; two sisters, Patricia June Williams and husband, Howard of Bowlegs and Cleon Huff of Sherman, Texas, two grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
