Memorial services for Wewoka resident Jane Lee Tarkington, 69, are scheduled for 5 p.m. on Sunday at Stout-Phillips Chapel in Wewoka.
Tarkington died Sept. 25, 2004 at Holdenville General Hospital. She was born July 2, 1935 in Honolulu, Hawaii.
She married Wiley Lee Tarkington, Jr., on Jan. 26, 1954, in the Hawaiian islands.
Her husband and daughter Sherry Ann Tarkington preceded her in death.
Surviving her are her five children, Linda Jane Breland of Oklahoma City, Laura Jean Dinsmore of Wewoka, John Thomas "Jack" Tarkington of Edmond, Elizabeth Michal "Shelly" Ogle of Seminole, and Honee Leann Wadkins of Seminole; seventeen grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
Rev. Floyd James Tate
Funeral services for Seminole resident, Rev. Floyd James Tate are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 15 at the Tri-City Christian Center, now known as Immanuel Fellowship, with Rev. drew Isaacs officiating.
Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.
Tate died Monday, Jan. 12, 2004, at the age of 68 at home in Seminole.
Tate was born May 22, 1935, in Muskogee to John Henry Tate and Dolores (Geren) Tate.
He married Norma Elizabeth (Barens) Tate on July 25, 1959 at Oakcliff Assembly of God Church in Dallas, Texas.
Tate was an ordained minister and postored for the past 30 years.
He was a graduate of Southwestern Bible College and was founder and lifelong member of the Tri-City Christian Center in Seminole.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Billy John Tate.
He is survived by his wife, Norma Tate, of the home; one son, Timothy Dewayne Tate and wife, Kym of Seminole; one daughter, Cathy Lynn (Tate) Walker and husband, Rocky of Pauls Valley; one sister, Virginia Faye Boyce of Stillwater; and four grandchildren, Lynsie Jana’ Walker, Kaylee Brooke Walker, Tyler Timothy Tate and Krystyn Kymberly Tate.
A memorial fund has been established at Immanuel Fellowship, formerly Tri-City Christian Center, which was founded by Rev. Floyd Tate, to further the purposes and vision birth of his ministry.

James Tatum Jr.
Funeral services for longtime Seminole County resident, James Sherman Tatum Jr. of Konawa are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 20 at the Vamoosa Baptist Church with Revs. Michael Vallandingham, Boyd Rayburn and Maynard Whipple officiating.
Interment will follow at the Vamoosa Cemetery under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.
Tatum died Friday, April 16, 2004, at the age of 79 at his home in Konawa.
He was born Aug. 1, 1924, in Banner Ark. to James Sherman Tatum Sr. and Clemmie Ethel (Griffis) Tatum.
He was married to Jewel Emogene (Miller) Tatum on July 15, 1948, in Ft. Smith, Ark.
Tatum was a Seminole County resident for 61 years.
He served as sergeant in the Marines, serving during World War II, as well as Okinawa and China.
Tatum received the Bronze Star, Silver Star and the Purple Heart.
He was a member of the Vamoosa Baptist Church where he was a deacon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Sherman Tatum Sr. and Ethel (Griffis) Tatum; and one older sister, Mildred Lucille Deanor.
He is survived by his wife, Jewel Emogene (Miller) Tatum, of the home; three sons, Jimmy D. Tatum and D. Aaron Tatum, both of Konawa and Larry E. Tatum of Ft. Calhoun, Neb.; one daughter, Paula Pettigrew of Moore; four brothers, Stanley D. Tatum of Del City, William "Bud" Tatum of Oklahoma City, J. Keith Tatum of Seminole and Michael W. Tatum of Edmond; seven sisters, Selma Califana of Newburg, N.Y., Celest Bogart of Alexandria, Va., Vera Sillings of Mena, Ark., Annalee Singleton of Glenpool, Shirley Avery of Midwest City, Elenor Joan Henry of Corpus Christi, Texas and Arlene Benedict of Oklahoma City; 14 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; as well as other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be his sons, Jimmy D. Tatum, Larry E. Tatum and D. Aaron Tatum, and his grandsons, Jimmy D. Tatum Jr., Brandon E. Tatum, and D. Aaron Tatum Jr.

Alvin Taylor
Funeral services for Alvin L. Taylor, grandfather of Seminole residents, are scheduled to be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 25 at the Rock Creek Baptist Church in Shawnee with Rev. Richard Zimmer officiating.
Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of the Resthaven Funeral Home.
Taylor, of Tecumseh, died Wednesday, June 23, 2004, at the age of 83 at local hospital.
He was born Jan. 27, 1921, in Pottawatomie County to Rubelt and Gladys (Bradley) Taylor.
He served in the United States Air Force and was a retired truck driver and an avid golfer.
He was married to Mary Hensley on June 27, 1942, who preceded him in death in 1997.
He later married Jeanne Carsten in Odessa, Texas.
He was a member of Rock Creek Baptist Church in Shawnee.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary; and one grandson, David Taylor.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Taylor of the home; one daughter, Rhonda Mems of Pharoh; two sons, Terry Taylor of Rocky Mount, Mo. and Steve Taylor of Moore; one stepson, Charles Carsten of Ada; four grandsons, several great grandchildren and step grandchildren; one brother, E.R. Taylor Jr. of Noble; two sisters, Helen Peeveyhouse of Tulsa and Nellie Apple of Broken Arrow.
Calvin Taylor
Funeral services for Seminole resident Calvin Wilson Taylor are scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12 at Spring Baptist Church with Revs. Leon Postoak, officiating and Frank Moppin, assisting.
Interment will be in the Spring Baptist Church Cemetery.
Taylor will be moved to the church Wednesday, Feb. 11 at 5:30 p.m.
Stout-Phillips Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Taylor died Monday, Feb. 9, 2004, at the age of 55 in Shawnee.
Calvin Wilson Taylor was born to Joe and Edna Taylor on Nov. 29, 1948 in Wewoka.
After moving from Bonham, Texas as a small boy, he attended Cully Grade School near Sasakwa.
After the eighth grade he attended Sasakwa High School.
During his high school years he was a standout athlete in baseball and basketball under coach Henry Roland.
After graduating from High School in 1968, he attended Haskell Institute in Lawrence, Kan.
He worked for several years at the old Clay Pipe Plant near Seminole.
He then moved to Shawnee where he worked for Jones Intercable and T.D.K. Industries.
After becoming disabled he resided mostly with his sister Lina in Seminole.
He was preceded in death by his parents as well as two sisters, Delores Taylor Norman in 1968 and Betsy Taylor Casteel in Dec. 2003
He is survived by three uncles, Albert Harjo of Bowlegs and Eugene Harjo of Sasakwa and Jimmy Joe Harjo of Konawa; two sons, Joe Wilson Taylor of Dallas, Texas; Brad Taylor of Shawnee; his ex-wife, Sue Taylor Brown of Dallas, Texas; one granddaughter, Brittni Taylor of Shawnee; one brother Rev. Leon Postoak and wife Wanda of Oklahoma City, Jimmy Wayne and Idalene Taylor of Holdenville; and one sister, Lina Taylor of Seminole.
He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; Tina and Mark Sanders of Seminole; Gayla Norman of Eufaula; Buffy and Eli Troglin of Bowlegs, Tiffany Taylor of Wewoka; Ida and Shane Hodgins of Holdenville; Raney Fixico Holdenville; Nephews; Lance and Sherrie Taylor of Seminole, Rodney and Tiffany Casteel of Shawnee; Randy and Tracy Casteel of Wynnewood; and Tommy John Taylor of Holdenville.
Pallbearers will be, Larry (Bird) Harris, Thompson Postoak, Lloyd Lee Harjo, Kenneth (Foley) Chambers, Willie Bruner, Clifford Barnett.

Ed Taylor
Funeral services for former Seminole resident, Ed W. Taylor, of Moore, were scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 2 at John Ireland Funeral Home in Moore.
He died Friday, Feb. 27, 2004, at the age of 89.
Taylor was born Jan. 13, 1915, in Wetumka to W.O. (Sandy) Taylor and Rettie Mae (Fine) Taylor.
He graduated from Semnole High School where he played football.
Taylor married his high school sweetheart, Jeweldean Whitlock and the couple had two children, Sally and Janey.
He worked in the oilfield until the war.
He served in the South Pacific with the 1398th Engineer Construction Battalion.
His work career included Superior Oil Company, Progress Brewery, City of Moore Water Department and Control Flow, Inc
He enjoyed all kinds of sports, especially when his grandchildren were playing.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Opal Bailey of Wilson, and one brother, Lloyd Taylor of Denver, Colo.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Jeweldean; daughters, Sally Horn of Moore and Janey Garland of Washington; three grandsons; one granddaughter; three great granddaughters; two great grandsons; and many other relatives and friends.
Vernon Alexander Taylor
Funeral services for former Seminole resident Vernon Alexander Taylor, 83, are scheduled for 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rusty Tugman officiating.
Taylor died Oct. 1, 2004 at Norman Regional Hospital. He was born March 1, 1921 in Wapanucka to Thomas Alexander and Oda (Crowell) Taylor.
Interment will be at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens with military honors under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Taylor was a sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II and received the Purple Heart. He married Louise (Mount) on Oct. 24, 1945 in Reno, Nev.
He moved to Tecumseh in 1966, to Eufaula in 1973, then he lived in Seminole for 30 years before settling in Norman. Taylor was a member of the Church of Christ in Norman.
His parents, four sisters, and one brother preceded him in death.
Survivors include: his wife of the home; three daughters, Loretta Dye, Oda Lott, and Jean Baylock, all of Norman; two sons, Vernon Leon Taylor of Choctaw, and Jim McComas of Norman; sister, Bessie Hanley of Norman; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
