Barnhill, 59, died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2005. She was born Dec. 19, 1945 in Malvern, Ark. To William Carl and Geraldine Alexander Russell.
Her parents preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband of the home; one son, Lance Jordan of Norman; four daughters, Kandy Robertson, Paula Long, Regina Deninno, all of South Carolina and Shawna Jordan of Oklahoma City; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Joseph Ray "Joe" Battles
Joe was born to Shelby and Ruth Mae (Dockery) Battles on March 20, 1933 in a dugout on the family farm near Hollis, Okla.
He died Thursday, Aug. 25, 2005 at his home in Seminole having reached the age of 72 years, 5 months and 5 days.
Joe and his family have been long time resident’s of Seminole.
He graduated from Lovington High School in 1950, and attended Southwestern State College were he and his brother Haydon were members of the Bulldog football team.
While attending Southwestern Joe met and married Bonnie Droke in 1960.
He also received his Bachelor of Arts in Education degree in May 1960 and a Master of Teaching degree in July 1967 from SWSC in Weatherford. He received his Administration degree at the University of Oklahoma in 1978.
In 1960, he moved to Cunningham, Kan. to assume the head basketball and football coaching positions for three years.
After coaching in Kiowa, Kan., and Weatherford, Okla. Joe moved to Seiling, Okla. and began a career in administration as principal in 1968.
He served as high school principal in Cordell, Okla. He also served as assistant superintendent in Purcell, Okla. beginning in 1975.
In 1980, he became the assistant superintendent in Seminole. He retired from Seminole Public Schools in 1995 after 37 years of service in public education.
Joe was an active member of the community as the Rotary Club President from 1983 to 1984, also a member of the First Baptist Church of Seminole and a member of CCOSAA Oklahoma School Administration Council.
Joe enjoyed life and was a mentor for many. His favorite things to do after retiring was being with his family and friends, playing golf, entertaining his three grandchildren, wood working with his son Mike and watching his son Steve coach high school football.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie of Seminole; a son, Mike Battles and his wife, Karen of Tyler, Texas: Steve Battles and his wife, Mary Beth of Katy, Texas; three grandchildren Joshua Battles and Kyle Battles of Tyler, Texas and Shelby Battles of Katy, Texas; a brother, Haydon Battles and his wife Carol; of Gotebo, Okla.; and a sister Monette Walker of Hobbs, N. M.; nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Services are scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 27 at the First Baptist Church in Seminole with Rev. Randy Potter and Rev. Russell Vicars officiating.
Interment will follow at The Mound Valley Cemetery in Thomas, Okla.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Mary Beckwith
Funeral services for former longtime Seminole County resident Mary Louella Beckwith are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at the Pentecostal Church of Cromwell with Rev. Barney Gibson and Rev. Will Gordon to officiate.
Interment is to follow services at the Bearden Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Okemah.
Beckwith, 37, died Thursday, March 17, 2005 in Oklahoma City. She was born March 12, 1968 in Wewoka to Charles and Mary Underwood.
She and Joseph Beckwith were married Dec. 14, 1987 in Cromwell.
Beckwith was a member of the House of Prayer Church of Okemah and was a housewife who enjoyed singing in the church and fishing.
Surviving her is her husband, Joe Beckwith; son Logan Keith Beckwith; daughter Pamela Michelle Beckwith, all of the Cromwell home; parents, Charles and Mary Underwood of Cromwell; three brothers, Johnny Ray Underwood of Bearden, Francis James Underwood of Okemah and Richard Lee Underwood of Bearden and two step-grandchildren.
Pallbearers for the service will be Mark Rich, James Flowers, Jason Williams, Mike Sowder, Bobby Whisnant and Billy Whisnant.
Ralph Bell
Services for Seminole resident Ralph Lee Ball are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.
Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Bell, age 74, died Thursday, Nov. 24, 2005 at South Park Health Care Center in Oklahoma City. He was born Jan. 19, 1931 in Morris, Okla. to Charles and Margaret Ann (Harvey) Bell.
He married Betty Helen (Connell) on March 21, 1974 in Oklahoma City. He retired in 1989 from Tinker Air Force Base as a Jet Engine Mechanic.
After his retirement he enjoyed farming North East of Seminole.
He was a life member of the V.F.W. and a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.
Bell served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
His parents precede him in death.
Surviving are two sons, Ronald Keith Bell of New Mexico and Lorne Lee Bell of White Plains, N.Y.; two brothers, Charles Bell Jr. and Floyd Bell, both of Okmulgee; three sisters, Carol Nichols of Morris, Nola Whitson of Okmulgee and Betty Otto of Oklahoma.
Pallbearers will be James C. Kirkpatrick, Dale Gibson, Charles Walker, Randy Beauford, John Turner and Joe Templeton.
Cleve Beller
Seminole resident Cleve Beller died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2005, in his home. He was 85.
There are no services scheduled for Beller.
He was born Feb. 4, 1919, in Stigler to Cleve C. Beller and Lena (Fleming) Beller.
On May 26, 1996, he married Beth (Peters) Beller in Oklahoma City.
Beller graduated from OU medical school in 1943, and served his internship and residency at St. Luke’s hospital in Chicago, Ill.
He served as a Captain in the Army and was stationed at Oak Ridge, Tenn., and Los Alamos, N.M.
While at Los Alamos, he learned about treating patients and accident victims that were exposed to the Atom Bomb.
Beller was retained by AEC as a consultant for several years.
After leaving the Army, he returned to OU for a residency and fellowship. He set up a radioactive isotope laboratory in Oklahoma.
Later in life, he worked for the department of mental health.
His life was dedicated to the field of medicine.
Beller was a member of First Christian Church in Seminole.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
Beller is survived by his wife, Beth Beller of the home; one son, Cleve Neal Beller of Washington D.C.; one daughter, Brianna J. Beller of Seminole and one grandchild.
Richard Bemo
Funeral services for Konawa resident Richard Allen Bemo are scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday at Spring Baptist Church in Sasakwa.
Interment is to follow services at the Burgess-Bemo Family Cemetery in Wewoka under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
Wake services are scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday at Stout-Phillips Funeral Chapel.
Bemo, 87, died Thursday, March 17, 2005 at Carl Albert Indian Hospital in Ada. He was born Jan. 5, 1918 in Wewoka to George and Lena (Fish) Bemo.
He attended New Model Schools for nine years and married Irene Burgess Oct. 2, 1937 in Wewoka.
Bemo was an employee at Tinker Air Force Base for 30 years. In addition, he was a member of the Seminole County Sheriff Auxiliary, Ocese Band of the Seminole Nation member, who served as Chairman in the 1970’s, and served on the General Council of the Seminole Nation.
He was the adopted son of May Tobi of the Konawa Tribe and was a Spring Baptist Church Deacon who received a 35 year plaque from the Seminole City Indian Credit Association.
His parents; wife Irene Bemo; two daughters, Bernita Whitekiller and Roxie Morris; two brothers, Simeon and George Bemo and sister Madeline Burgess.
Surviving him are sons Rickey Bemo of Tulsa and Charley Bemo of Twentynine Palms, Calif.; son-in-law John Michael Morris of Stafford, Va.; brother Glenn Sharpe of Wewoka; sister Norma Sharpe of Wewoka; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers for the services will be Mitch Buck, Ricky Burgess, Roy Sisco, Michael Burgess, Russell Bemo, Tommy Gibson and Bobby Bemo.
Listed as honorary bearers are his grandsons, Bo, Kip, Eric, Michael Phillip, David Haney, Jerry Haney (former Principal Chief of Seminole Nation) and the Seminole County Indian Credit Associate Members.
The body will lie in state at the home from Sunday at 4 p.m. until 1 p.m. Tuesday.
Nell Marie (Hulwa) Bemo
Wake services for Nell Marie Bemo are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel.
Wake services will then continue at 7:30 p.m. at the Greenleaf Baptist Church.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at Greenleaf Baptist Church with Rev. Tiger and Rev. Johns to officiate.
Interment will follow at Greenleaf Cemetery under the supervision of Stout-Phillips Funeral home in Wewoka.
Bemo was born March 26, 1936 to Andy and Sallie Hulwa. At the age of 69, she died June 19, 2005
Bemo is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Bemo; parents, Andy and Sallie Hulwa, grandmother Ella Hill and one grandchild Ashlyn Marie McNac.
Surviving her are six grandchildren, two sisters Emma Fish of Cromwell and Bernice Fish of Oklahoma City; one brother John Joe Hulwa of Oklahoma City; two adopted sons; Roland Roberts of Tulsa, Bruce Fish of the home and four step-children; Bob Bemo Jr. of Edmond, Glessie Gene Tharp of Norman, Ronnie Bemo of Shawnee, and Lawanda Abraham of Norman.
Service Pallbearers include; Roland Roberts, Eric Roberts, Bruce Fish, Tony Roberts, Reese Bert and Leney McNac Jr.
Honorary pallbearers include Tommy Frank, Michael Fish, Emery Fish, Randy Roberts and Lyman Kionute Jr.
