Funeral services were held today at 10:30 p.m. for Bowlegs resident Edward Hugh "Ed" Bordelon at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John May officiating.
Interment followed at Wolf Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Bordelon, 59, died Saturday, April 16, 2005 at Oklahoma Veterans Hospital - Talihina Division in Talihina.
He was born Dec. 13, 1946 in Denton, Texas to J.C. Bordelon and Mary Alice Batesel.
Bordelon lived in the Bowlegs/Seminole area from 1995 to 2005, having moved here from New Jersey.
He married Judy Taylor on Oct. 10, 2004 in Wilburton.
Bordelon was a veteran of the United States Navy and a member of Methodist Church in Bowlegs and the VFW post in Wilburton.
His father preceded him in death in 1974.
Surviving is his wife Judy Bordelon of Wilburton, mother Mary Cameron of Bowlegs and one sister Catherine Henderson of Mexico Beach, Fla.
Serving as casket bearers was Ryan Bloxham, Brian Smith, Eddie Taylor, Donnie Taylor, Sterlin Taylor, Eddie Murrah and David Wagoner.
Honorary bearers were Daniel Taylor and Mike Krause.
Lavoy Louise (Tate) Bottoms
Funeral services for Seminole resident Lavoy Louise (Tate) Bottoms are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Highway Baptist Church, north of Seminole on SH 99, with Rev. Cal Hunter officiating.
Interment of her cremains will be at Little Cemetery at a later date, under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Bottoms died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2005, at Seminole Medical Center. She was 69.
On July 8, 1936, she was born to Marcus Arelius Tate and Velma (Lake) Tate, in Danville, Ark.
She married James "Odell" Bottoms on Dec. 17, 1952, in Oklahoma City. She moved to Seminole 38 years ago. A wife and mother, she owned and operated Odell and Sons Salvage west of Seminole, with her husband.
Bottoms was a member of Highway Baptist Church in Seminole.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one infant brother, James Eldon Tate.
Bottoms is survived by her husband, James "Odell" Bottoms of the home in Seminole; three sons, James "Leonard" Bottoms of Coleman, Ala., James "Thomas" Bottoms of Shawnee, and James "Christopher" Bottoms of Seminole; two daughters, Debbie Davis of Chattanooga, and Jakki Gatzke of Seminole; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Emma Boulton
A private family service was held Wednesday for former longtime Konawa resident Emma Marie Boulton.
Burial took place at Konawa Cemetery under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home.
Boulton, 94, died Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2005 at Unity Health Center in Shawnee. She was born Sept. 12, 1912 in Heavener to Agra and Coulde Thrift.
She married Walter B. Boulton on April 12, 1927 in Heavener and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of Faith.
Her parents, husband, one daughter, Pauline Adams, two sons, Charles Boulton and Walter Boulton and one granddaughter, Teresa Stewart preceded her in death.
Surviving are two daughters, Margie Robison of Konawa and Lorena Farris of Pauls Valley; one brother, Aurie Thrift of Red Oak; one sister, Helen Thrift of Red Oak; 21 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren and 23 great-great grandchildren.
Barbara Bounds
Graveside services for lifelong Konawa area resident Barbara Anna Bounds are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday at Vamoosa Cemetery.
Ed Bray is to officiate with services under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home.
Bounds, 85, died Saturday, July 2, 2005 at Seminole Medical Center. She was born March 2, 1920 in Konawa to John Henry Wheeler and Dollie Ann (Hunley) Wheeler.
She married Tom L. Bounds on Aug. 17, 1939 in Konawa and was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
Her parents; husband, Tom on March 9, 1990; and one son, Leonard Bounds, all preceded her in death.
Surviving are six sons, Clifford Ray Bounds of Perry, Jack Bounds, Jerry Bounds, Richard Bounds, Glen Dale Bounds, all of Konawa and Jimmy Bounds of Ponca City; seven daughters, Lucy Dotson of Anadarko, Phyllis Ward of Boca Raton, Fla., Mary Minor of Unionville, Va., Carolyn Hughes of Pauls Valley, Brenda Campbell of Tulsa, Rhonda Fortelney of Harrah and Wanda Bryce of Konawa.
In addition, she has one sister, Julia Beatle of Scottsmore, Fla.; 36 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Lon Bowers
Services for Lon J. Bowers will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2005 at the Trinity Baptist Church in Maud with Wayne Taylor officiating.
Interment will follow at Cummings Cemetery in Maud.
Lon J. Bowers, passed from this life on July 2, 2005 at Unity Health Center North in Shawnee at the age of 78.
He was born October 3, 1926 to Lena (Parsons) and Lon D. Bowers in Macomb, Okla.
Bowers married Joyce "Inez" (Hale) on July 13, 1964 in Sherman, Texas.
He was a paratrooper in the United States Army where he served during WWII. He was also a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Maud, and a former member of the Odd Fellows in Tecumseh as well as a former member of the American Legion.
He retired from Tinker Air Force Base in 1979 after 34 years as a supervisor over shipping. He also loved to fish.
His parents, one brother, Eugene Bowers and one great granddaughter, Hunter Chaffin, precede him in death.
He is survived by his wife Joyce "Inez" Bowers of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law, Curtis and Paula Bowers, Lloyd and Glenda Bowers and Floyd Bowers all of Maud; one daughter and son-in-law, Valerie and Mike Wittrock of Smithville, Texas; one brother and sister-in-law; Glen and June Bowers of Ponca City; three sisters and brother-in-law; Jerri and Walter Brown of Fairfax, Okla., Charlotte Janway of Tecumseh and Louise Pine of Eufala.
He is also survived by nine grandchildren; Steven Bowers, Glen Alan Bowers, Jarrod Bowers, Suan Streeter, Jennifer Chaffin, Jackie Porterfield, Sydnee Tucker, Brytnee Tucker and Thad Tucker and fourteen great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be; Steve Wall, Randy Crawford, Steve Wood, Jack Morris, Paul Lucy and Gene Reagan.
Honorary Bearers will be; Charles Pierce, Dale Williams, John Nuckolls, Tom Clark, Ray Lee and Charles Hopper.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Trinity Baptist Church Building Fund.
Raymond Bowles
Graveside services for longtime Seminole resident Raymond Bowles are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Maple Grove Cemetery with Rev. Carl Whitfield to officiate.
The service will be under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Bowles, 87, died Saturday, May 14, 2005 at Sulphur Oklahoma Veteran Center. He was born June 22, 1917 in Yeager to Noble George Bowles and Mary Alice (Draper) Bowles.
He married Helen M. Bowles in Sulphur in 1953. Bowles was a veteran who served in World War II as a private in the United States Army.
Bowles worked as an oilfield toolpusher in the Seminole oil fields and was a private pilot who enjoyed flying and fishing.
He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the American Legion Post 0148 in Sulphur.
His parents, wife Helen (2003), and two sisters Ruth Griffen and Audrey Mitchell preceded him in death.
Surviving are four daughters, Debbie Bowles of Bethel Acres, Nancy R. Rutherford and Beth Bowles, both of Seminole and Mary Bowles of Shawnee and four grandchildren.
The family wishes to extend their thanks to the Oklahoma Veteran Center in Sulphur.
Clara Mae Brackett
Funeral services are scheduled for longtime Seminole resident Clara Mae Brackett for 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Chapel of the First Baptist Church in Seminole with Rev. Tommy Clark officiating.
Interment will follow services at Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
The casket will remain open until the service time and it will then be closed and not re-opened.
Clara Mae was welcomed to heaven on March 7, 2005 by her Lord, her husband Lawrence and her daughter, Barbara Jean. She was born in to this world on Oct. 12, 1914, and four years later lost her mother to the 1918 influenza.
She, her three sisters and brother were reared with the support of their uncle and aunt, Shorty and Eula Johnson in Holdenville.
When Clara Mae met Lawrence Brackett in 1937, they fell in love at first sight and were soon married. Both maintained jobs and struggled to begin a family during the hard times of the last of the depression years.
She felt the anguish of losing her fist child and then moved to Seminole, rebounding with three sons who were the center of her world.
Clara Mae was first of all a mother and a committed First Baptist Church member, where she was a Sunday school teacher and Cub Scout den mother.
After her sons left home, her summers were filled with caring for grandchildren, which she dearly loved.
When the grandchildren were grown she and Lawrence loved sitting on the deck of their Lake Eufaula trailer in the evenings, talking about the next day’s fishing.
As she grew older, she made weekly trips to the local nursing home where she visited and prayed with residents.
For the past three years she has been a delightful resident of the Cedar Creek Nursing Home in Norman.
Her mother and father; husband Lawrence; sisters Ola Booth and Coy Rogers and brother, Acie Goforth preceded her in death.
She is survived by three sons, Dan and his wife Janet, Bill and his wife Cheryl and Bob and his wife Marina; sister Bea Luther and her husband Fred; nine grandchildren, Sean, Shannon, Kris, Leanne, Ryan, Bob Manuel, Joshua, Kevin and Ben; seven great-grandchildren; special niece and nephews who she loved dearly
She will be missed by every person whose life she touched in her 90 years.

William Bradley Sr.
Memorial services for Seminole resident William Lee Bradley Sr. are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at Pentecostal Holiness Church in Holdenville.
Interment is to follow at Holdenville Cemetery under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
Bradley, 85, died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2005 at his home in Holdenville. He was born Dec. 29, 1919 in Henryetta to William and Beaulah "Love" Bradley.
He was raised in the Seminole County area and had attended Butner Schools. Bradley married Constance Jean Stove in March of 1987 in Marietta.
Bradley worked most of his life as a self-employed mechanic.
His parents preceded him in death.
Surviving him is his wife of the home; children, William Bradley Jr. of Seminole, Patricia Ann McCormick of Ponca City, Tammy Justice of Wewoka, Robert Bradley of Seminole and Claude Bradley of Wewoka; sister Lennie McMichaels of Holdenville and six grandchildren.
