Funeral services for former longtime Seminole resident David Allen Bunch are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at the Bartlett Funeral Parlor in Bartlett, Tenn.
Interment is to follow services at the west Tennessee Veterans Cemetery with full military honors.
Bunch, 52, died Friday, March 25, 2005 in Humbolt, Tenn. He was born Feb. 18, 1953 to Dr. Allen and Ruth Bunch.
He retired from the United States Army in 1995 where he was a Sgt. 1st Class. Bunch was a veteran of Desert Storm and had served in Germany under Gen. Colin Powell.
In addition he served in Grenada, El Salvador, Panama, Honduras, the Persian Gulf, Somalia and many stations in the United States.
Bunch received many commendations as an army medic and he held a master’s in psychology.
His parents preceded him in death.
Surviving him is wife Reda Bunch of Memphis, Tenn. and two sisters, Alana Bunch and Tina Bunch, both of Seminole.
Alexander Burgess
Rev. Alexander Burgess of Spaulding passed away Monday, Aug. 15, 2005 at his residence, at the age of 86.
A wake service was held at Stout-Phillips Funeral Chapel at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday with the body being transported to the home for a wake service at 8 p.m. Wednesday.
On Thursday the body will then be taken to Seminole Indian Baptist Church, Konawa for an 8 p.m. wake service at the church.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Seminole Indian Baptist Church, Konawa with Rev. Arthur Carpitcher and assisted by Rev. Ed George.
Interment is to follow services at Seminole Indian Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
Alex was born on April 29, 1919 at Sasakwa to Walter Burgess and Nancy Alexander. He attended school at Vamoosa and was baptized Jan. 1, 1957 by Walter Burgess.
On June 26, 1966 he became an Ordained Preacher by Walter Burgess, John Harjo and Harley Roberts. He became Pastor Oct. 14, 1967 by John Factor and Homer Emarthle.
Alex and Joan Harjo were married in Seminole and she preceded him in death.
Later Alex married Winnie Cosar on July 12, 1980 and she preceded him in death.
His parents; son, Robert West; baby daughter; grandchildren, Claude Burgess Jr. and Leslie Walker; sisters, Liza Jesse and Ida Mae Burgess and one brother, George Burgess preceded him in death.
Surviving are his three sons, Charles Burgess of Wolf, George Burgess of Granite and Claude Burgess of Lexington; stepson Ronald West of Tupelo, Okla.; seven daughters, Gwen Warrenburg and Marcella Bryan, both of Tecumseh, Joammie Wood of Sasakwa, Nita Kay Jacobs of Holdenville, Amelia Harjo of Oklahoma City, Jackie Kernell of Ada and Joan Carpitcher of Byng.
In addition, one brother, Jonas Burgess of Seminole; four sisters, Francis Tanyan and Martha Palmer, both of Seminole, Evelyn Punkta of Shawnee and Jane Boydston of Stonewall; stepsons, Jimmie Carpitcher of Sasakwa and Sam Harrison of Seminole; sister-in-law, Joammie Harrison of Wewoka and one uncle Bill Burgess of Tulsa survive him.
Mr. Burgess was a dedicated grandfather that raised the following grandchildren; Buddy Wood, Billy Wood, Wesley Roulston, Ronald West, Smiley West, Theda Pogue and Skyler Roulston.
In total he has 36 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers for the services will be Lee Wood, Ronnie Burgess, Josh Punkta, Larry Jesse, Jimsey Harjo and Charlie Harjo.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Boydston, Michael Walker, Joe Coon, Frank Walters, Bolo Cosar, Winston Postoak, Robert Wood, Mark Bryan, Anthony Notah, Ronald North and grandson and great-grandsons.
Ralph Oren Burkey
Funeral service for Ralph Oren Burkey, 96, of Pocasset were held at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 23, 2005 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home in Chickasha.
Ralph Oren Burkey was born March 25, 1909 in Grady County the son of Joseph Edward and Sarah Burkey and died Tuesday Sept. 20, 2005 in Chickasha.
Mr. Burkey lived in Grady County all of his life. He and Beatrice Slover were married for 72 years. They were married Jan. 18, 1933.
Mr. Burkey was a farmer and rancher west of Pocasset.
He also worked as a cabinetmaker for Perdue Company and Chickasha Mobile Homes.
Mr. Burkey was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter, Cheryl Anne Burkey; two brothers; and four sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Beatrice Burkey of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law, James E. Burkey and wife Mary Jane of Seminole, Jerry Burkey and wife Anita of Fletcher, and Ronnie Joe Burkey of El Reno; six grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
Interment followed the services in the Evergreen Cemetery, Minco, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Theodore Burkhart
Graveside services for lifelong Seminole resident Theodore "Ted" R. Burkhart are scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday at Maple Grove Cemetery with Rev. Doyle Long officiating.
Services will be under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Burkhart, 88, died Thursday, April 14, 2005 at Pioneer Nursing Home. He was born Jan. 6, 1917 in Alma, Ark. to George Washington Burkhart and Ida (Griffin) Burkhart.
He married Joyce (Chambers) Burkhart on March 8, 1958 in Gainsville, Texas.
Burkhart was a United States Army veteran who served as an E-5 during World War II. He retired as a mechanic from Tinker Air Force Base.
Surviving him is his wife; two sons, Kris Burkhart of Seminole and Don Burkhart of Oklahoma City; three daughters, Donna Weber of Yukon, Cheryl Chahcoi of Olathe, Kan. and Tammy Jenkins of Tupelo, Miss; one sister Jesse Barclay of Henderson, Ky.; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Lorenzo Burris
Funeral services for Seminole resident Lorenzo "Buddy Ruff" Burris are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel.
Rev. Bobby Curry is to officiate with interment to follow services at Westwood Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Burris, 78, died Thursday, Sept. 8, 2005 at Seminole Medical Center. He was born Jan. 3, 1927 in Atoka to Cluster and Rosa Lee (Frazier) Burris.
He attended Dunbar School in Atoka where he was raised.
Burris married Irene Crooms and worked in the street department for the City of Oklahoma City for several years.
His two sons, Rico Burris and Pat Frazier, daughter, Bertha (Burris) Bennett and stepfather Curley Frazier preceded him in death.
Surviving is his wife; six sons, Alonzo Burris of Oklahoma City, Michael Burris of Konawa, Bob Burris of Seminole, Doug Burris of Wichita, Kan., Wallace Burris of Monmouth, Ill. And Kenneth Crooms of Norman and four daughters, Rose Burris of Seminole, Yolanda Burris of Dallas, Texas, Marshell Burris of Seminole and Patsy Colbert of Edmond.
In addition, two sisters, Lorene Alexander of Spencer and Elizabeth Frazier of Atoka; four brothers, Charlie Colter, Bobby Frazier and Jimmy Frazier, all of Atoka and Sonny Frazier of Californai; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren also survive him.
Laura Hart Burrow
Funeral services for former Wewoka resident Laura "Evelyn" Hart Burrow are scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 22 at 10:30 a.m. at Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka.
Burrows died Monday, Sept. 19, 2005. She was born Dec. 31, 1906 in Lewisburg, Tenn. to James Deryl Hart and Lena Ethel London Hart.
In 1909, her family moved to Madill, where her father set up his dentistry practice. She grew up there and graduated from Madill High School in 1926. She stayed on with her family, which had by then grown to six girls and four boys.
The family moved to Wewoka in 1930 where she worked at Key Hardware and continued to help with the raising of her siblings. Eager to expand her education, Burrow moved to Oklahoma City in 1935, where she lived with her sister, Virginia.
There, she attended Draun’s Business School and took a job with Pittsburgh Plate Glass. After taking her civil service exam, she worked for the VA and the FAA.
In 1940, she married James Otto Burrow, who had a teenage daughter, Phyllis Fonsene Burrow. In 1943, she gave birth to Linda, her only child.
She continued to work until 1966, when she retired. In 1976, her husband of 36 years died and four years later, Burrow moved back to Wewoka to live with sisters, Virginia and Mary.
In 1998, Evelyn again moved to be near family. This time it was to be near sisters Virginia and Naomi, who were in a Shawnee nursing home and niece Sherry Claybrook. In December 2000, she moved to the Stillwater Renaissance House to be near her granddaughter, Jill.
Her many hobbies included crossword puzzles, gardening, sewing, knitting, and cooking.
Evelyn’s church family was very important to her and she always enjoyed the corporate worship. As a child, she always attended worship services with her family and was baptized while in her teens.
She attended the corporate worship with the Lord's body in Wewoka, at Mayfair in the city, in Shawnee, and most recently at the Stillwater Church of Christ. She loved to host people in her home and cook for church fellowships. When she could no longer serve physically, she served financially.
Her parents; five sisters, Mary, Ruth, Melba, Virginia, and Naoma; two brothers, Allwyn and Harold; her husband; and a beloved stepdaughter, Fonsene preceded her in death.
Surviving are brothers, James of Wewoka and George of Knoxville, Tenn.; daughter Linda Johnson of Rockwall; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren,

Pamila Burton
A private family service will be held for Pamila Renee Burton, 51, of Lewisville, Ark. who died Wednesday, May 25, 2005 at her residence.
She was born in April 4, 1954 in Seminole and was a member of The First United Methodist Church of Lewisville, and a loyal Oklahoma Sooner fan.
Surviving her is her husband, Bruce Burton of Lewisville; two stepsons, Dylan Burton of Wakasa, Japan and Darrell Burton of Lewisville; daughter Jacey Walker of Stamps, Ark.; brother and sister-in-law Melvin and Alice Craig of Caddo; sister Jeanetta Gains of Texarkana, Ark.; a very special aunt, Lois Bender of Seminole; a very special grandson, Ethan Walker and a very special granddaughter Lauren Spakes.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Hospice of the donor’s choice, the American Cancer Society or the Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
