LeWanda "Lee" M. Carmack, 78, of Norman, died March 12, 2005, in Norman.
Memorial services are scheduled for 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel in Norman with Chaplain Harry Smith officiating.
Services are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman.
Lee was born Dec. 14, 1927, in Seminole to Everette and Anna (Fogle) Turley.
She was raised in Seminole and married Glenn R. Carmack in Okemah on Dec. 25, 1944. Glenn died Nov. 21, 2004. They would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Xmas day.
Lee was a wonderful hostess. Each evening before dinner it was a ritual that Lee and Glenn made a toast to each other – "Cheers my dear." Now she has gone to join him.
Lee was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Glenda Ann (Punky) Hill.
Survivors include her daughter Cindy Updegraff and husband, Paul and their dog, Jordon of Norman; her sister, Carol Davisson and husband, Bill, of Seminole; two grandchildren, Travis Hill of Berkeley, Calif., and Kimberly Gressett of Alachua, Fla., and five great grandchildren.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Arbor House Assisted Living, Heartland Hospice of Norman and to her caregivers, Missy and Dee.

Maedean Carolina
Funeral services for Wewoka resident Maedean (Bruner) Carolina are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at Wewoka Church of Christ.
The arrangements are under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
Carolina, 73, died Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2005 at Wewoka Nursing Home. She was born May 27, 1932 in Wewoka to Charley and Purina (Colbert) Bruner.
She attended Nobletown School and later worked for Konawa Nursing Home and Barry’s Café as a cook. She was a member of Wewoka Church of Christ.
She married Ural "Sonny" Carolina in Shawnee and the couple had nine children.
Her parents; son, Terry Bruner; daughter, Delmarie Gordon; brothers and sisters, Vernon Bruner, Alice Byrd, Stella Bruner, Betty Bruner, Bobby Gene Bruner, McArthur Bruner, Joby Bruner and Linda Sue Bruner preceded her in death.
Surviving is her husband of the home; sons, Everett Bruner of California, Joe Don Gordon of Wewoka, Rickey Burton of Oklahoma City, Tony Bruner of Georgia and Paul Bruner of California and two daughters, Dondie Gordon of Virginia and Gloria Porter of Georgia.
In addition, siblings, Victorina Simmons, David Bruner, Aslene Bruner, Corene Bruner, Willis Bruner, Ola Faye Bruner, Dorothy Bruner, Rose Bruner, Rene Alford, Bobby Bruner, Ellen Roberts and Jean Johnson; 18 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren survive her.
Jack Carpitcher
Services for Jackie "Jack" Carpitcher, 80, Ada, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Seminole Indian Baptist Church with Revs. George Harjochee and Webster Fixico officiating.
Burial follows at Carpitcher Family Cemetery. Wake services will be 6 p.m. Thursday at the Criswell Chapel, and at Seminole Baptist Church on Friday evening.
Arrangements are under the direction of Criswell Funeral Home of Ada.
Mr. Carpitcher died Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2005. He was born May 23, 1925, in Sasakwa, to Weitna Weitna Carpitcher and Lilly Davis Carpitcher.
He married Winnie Mae Harjo in 1942 and was baptized by Walter Morgan at Birdcreek Indian Baptist Church.
Jack played baseball as a hindcatcher and had his own team. He and his brother and uncles built the first ball diamond at the Mekusukey Mission.
He worked in the oil fields and as a laborer, and had his own engine shop.
Survivors include one son, W. W. Jimmy Carpitcher and his wife Maxine, Sasakwa; three daughters, Jackie Kernel, Ada; Julia Scott, Madill, and JoAnna Carpitcher, Byng; one sister, Virginia Cosar, Konawa and 15 grandchildren, Rhonda, Charlie, Rhoda, Angie, Deanna, Weitna, Jonnie, Joniel, Jon Jr., Travis, Janis, Timothy, Michael, Marques and Mario.
In addition, 28 great grandchildren, Ateesha, William, Tashina, Winterstar, Winterdawn, Destiny, Alexander, Rhiannon, Zaniel, Cynda Ann, Monique, LeAnn, Danielle, Amanda, Jessica, Thomas, Olivia, Kennedy, Kelsey, Kanada, Canyon, Cierra, Gracie, Aleah, Jonathan, Zachery, Johnsey, Emilee and Joseph; and a host of relatives, nieces and nephews survive him.
Four brothers, Robert Carpitcher, Freeland Carpitcher, Eunah Carpitcher and Joe Carpitcher; and two sisters, Sally Martin and Katy Cass preceded him in death.
Bearers for the services are Samuel Cain II, Robledo "E-Z" Israel, Jock Jones, Timmy Narcomey, Israel Camp, and Edward Walker.
Honorary bearers are Danny James Carpitcher, Jesse James Carpitcher, Jackie Freland Davis, Victor Scott Underhill, Tyree Lee Underhill, Anthony Gordon Cosar and Mickey Lee Cosar.
Dorothy Carter
Funeral services will be held for Wewoka resident Dorothy Jean Carter at 2 p.m. Friday at the Assembly of God in Holdenville with Rev. Dale Jennings officiating.
There will be a visitation time from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening. Interment will follow at Holdenville Cemetery under the direction of Hudson- Phillips Funeral Home.
Dorothy Jean Carter of Wewoka passed away on Nov. 8, 2005 in their home at the age of 80. She was born on June 16, 1925 to William A. and Ancy Belle "Yandell" Catlett in Wetumka.
She married George T. Carter on June 8, 1944 in Holdenville. Their home was in numerous places throughout the country, and they moved back to Wewoka in 1960 and had lived there since that time.
Her last job was working as a secretary for the State of Oklahoma Insurance Commission.
She is survived by her husband George T. Carter of the home; three children, Mike Carter of Odessa, Texas, Linda Watts of Denton, Texas and Bob W. Carter of Houston, Texas; one brother, Ray Catlett of Wewoka; two sisters, Ruth Meiske of Taylor, Texas and Audra Creach of Wewoka; five grandchildren, Vicki, Kenneth, Charles, Gene, and Ronna Michelle, five great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
Mack Earl Carter
Funeral services for longtime Seminole resident Mack Earl Carter are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at Little Chapel with Hershel Morgan officiating.
Interment is to follow service at Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Carter, 81, of Glenpool, died Sunday, May 29, 2005 at home. He was born Oct. 24, 1923 in Fort Smith, Ark. to Claud Cater and Neta Atchinson.
He married Betty McMillan on March 24, 1944 in Seminole.
Carter worked as a bus driver/maintenance for Seminole High School. He was a veteran and of the Baptist faith.
His wife and one son, Michael Earl Carter preceded him in death.
Surviving is daughter Joyce Hargrove of Glenpool, two grandsons and three great-grandchildren.
Bette L. Cass
Graveside services for Bette L. (Lowe) Cass are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at Rest Haven Memorial Garden in Seminole.
Bette departed from this life on Aug. 27, 2005. She died of complications from brain cancer.
Her husband Charles Bennett Cass preceded her in death in 2001. They had been married 49 years.
She is survived by her son Charles Bennett Cass II of the home; a sister Norma L. Hufford of Tulsa; a brother Richard Leighton Lowe of Cambridge, N.Y.; three nieces, Linda L. Difrancisco Jr. of Texas, Norma Jean DeVault of Tulsa and Bette L. Holtam of Broken Arrow and two nephews Paul Thomas Hufford of Tulsa and Warren Lowe of New York, and many cousins.
Bette graduated from Will Rogers High School in 1944, then moved to Maud.
She married Charles, who was from Springfield, Illinois, in 1952.
Bette and Charles were very active members in the St. Mark’s Methodist Church.
They belonged to several organizations and Bette volunteered many hours at the Seminole Hospital as a Pink Lady in the Gift Shop.
She belonged to the Eastern Star and she and Charles served on many committees for Maud.
Bette was a very loving and giving person and will be missed and loved by her family.
The family would like to thank all Bette’s friends for their kindness and help during her illness.
Bette will be buried in the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole between her husband Charles Cass and her father, Ernest Lowe.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
Cremation Services are under the direction of Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home in Maud, Oklahoma.
Ellis David Casteel
Funeral services for Seminole resident Ellis David Casteel are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel.
Pastor Harold Turner will officiate, with burial to follow in Little Cemetery.
Casteel died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2005, at Seminole Estates Nursing Home.
He was born Feb.11, 1915, in Pottawatomie County to Joe and Sadie Mae (Michael) Casteel.
He was a farmer and a lifelong member of the Little community.
He attended the Church of Christ at Little.
He married Louise Klaus on July 14, 1991, in Eufaula; she survives him, of the home.
Other survivors include three sons, J.D. Casteel, Earlsboro, David Casteel, Konawa, and Virgil Casteel, Eufaula; two daughters, Nora Dunlap and Teresa Lanier, both of Oklahoma City; 19 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren and six great-great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Faye Casteel, who died Dec. 31, 1990.
He was also preceded in death by four sisters, three brothers and two gandsons, Johnny Casteel and Roger Don Leaf.
Casketbearers will include Joe Don and Rodney Casteel, Alan Dunlap, Dustin Lanier, Preston Lynch and Marty Don Hudson.
