Funeral service for Seminole resident Sylvia "Ruth" Clifton are scheduled for 11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2005, at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Moreland officiating.
Interment will follow at Little Cemetery with Pastor Hubert Plumlee officiating, and under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Sylvia "Ruth" Clifton passed away Saturday, Oct. 22, 2005, in Oklahoma City at the age of 85. She was born Aug. 21, 1920 in Oiltrough, Ark. to Florence Jewel (Ray) and Alex Zander Essary.
She was married to John William Clifton, he preceded her in death on Jan. 8, 1966.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Johnny A. and Linda Clifton of Seminole; three daughters and son-in-law, Shirley Anne Maye of Seminole, Linda and Charles Conner of Oklahoma City, and Jo Ahmadian of Midwest City.
Ten grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren, one great-great-great grandchild, two step great-grandchildren and three step great-great grandchildren also survive her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, William Eugene "Bill" Clifton; three brothers, Russell, Joel and Henry Essary; one sister, Beth Anne Essary; two granddaughters, Terry Anne Clifton and Karen Clifton Gustafuson and son-in-law, Devoe Maye.

Private services for Wewoka resident William "Bill" Fred Clifton will be scheduled for a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
Clifton, 54, died Sunday, Aug. 28, 2005 in Holdenville. He was born May 13, 1948 in Muskogee to James Clifton and Helen James.
He moved to Wewoka in June of 2004 from Wagner, Okla.
Clifton graduated with an associate’s degree in electronics from OSU Tech – Okmulgee and worked for Hayes-Lemmerz as a supervisor.
He married Karol Hourt on April 19, 1979 in Casper, Wyo.
His father and brother, Rusty preceded him in death.
Surviving is his wife; three children, LaVon Robinson, Sandi Clifton and Jason Clifton; mother, Helen James; two grandchildren; sister, Ruby Miller and brothers, Frank, Jerry and Jay Clifton.
Juanita Cline
Funeral services for longtime Seminole resident Juanita Cline were held today at 2 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Clark and Chaplain Donnie Knight officiating.
Interment followed the service at Maple Grove Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Cline, 88, died Sunday, Sept. 18, 2005 in Seminole. She was born Dec. 5, 1916 in Soper, Okla. to William Arvel Nichols and Annie (Smith) Nichols.
She was a sales clerk at The Vogue Dress Shop and Herrins Ladies Wear for many years.
Cline is a member of the First Baptist Church in Seminole and a member of the B.P.W.
She was active in her Sunday school class and member of the Choctaw Tribe.
Surviving her are daughters, Pat Crawford Atyia and Barbara Shoemaker, both of Seminole; two sisters, Mildred Post of Seminole and Kate Warren of Camarillo, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; 28 grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
Casket bearers were her grandsons, David and Tracy Driver, Greg and Kevin Crawford, Joe Shoemaker, Scott, Steven and Todd Staley, Jimmy Post, Nick Post, David Post, Ben Crane, Paul Cain, Ed Staley and Jeff Crawford.
The family suggests that memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church Falls Creek Cabin Fund or to Heartland Hospice in Shawnee.
Roy Cluck
Funeral services for former Seminole County resident Roy Curtis Cluck were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2005 at Hilliard Funeral Home in Van, Texas.
Rev. David McNary officiated and interment took place in Union Chapel Cemetery in Texas. Pallbearers for the service were Jerry Holt, Ross Romero, Cody White, Casey Holt, Scott Cluck and Keith Gomer.
Cluck died Jan. 29, 2005 in Fort Worth, Texas. He was born July 1, 1923 in Bowlegs to Sam L. and Lillie Newberry Cluck.
He married Inez Nichols on Oct. 21, 1942 in Wewoka and was a resident of Arlington, Texas for two years and was a member of First Christian Church and worked as a truck driver.
Cluck served in the United States Army 160th field artillery Battalion 45th Division from 1939 – 1944. He served active duty during World War II from 1940 – 1944.
He was awarded many decorations and service medals, such as EAME Campaign medal, American Defense Service medal, Good Conduct medal, Battle Star for Sicilian, Italian and Qualiano, Italy Campaigns, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign medal with four bronze service stars.
His parents; one sister, Viola Griswald; and two brothers, Jesse Cluck and Cecil Cluck all preceded him in death.
Surviving him is his wife of 62 years of Arlington; son Dewayne Cluck of Van; daughter Carolyn Dillard of Arlington; two brothers, J.L. Cluck of California and Sam A. Cluck of Wewoka; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Georgia Etta Cochran
Georgia Etta Doakes Cochran, a former resident of Seminole, age 75, died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2005.
She was born March 22, 1929, in Konawa, Okla., to Abraham L. Nero and Jannet Ransom Nero.
She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized in the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Konawa, Okla.
Georgia graduated from Booker T. Washington in Seminole, Okla., in 1948.
She continued her education and graduated from college in1969.
Georgia retired from the Konawa School system after 24 years of dedicated service.
In May of 1997, she met and married Rev. Fred D. Cochran Sr.
Her love for the Lord and dedication was exemplified during her various roles at church clerk, treasurer, Sunday School superintendent, Sunday School teacher and member of the trustee board.
Georgia showed love to everyone she met and she will always be remembered by her beautiful smile.
She trusted and loved the Lord with all her heart.
The Lord picked another rose from His garden of life on Sunday, Jan. 16, 2005, in the person of Georgia Etta.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Freeman Doakes; three sisters, Geneva Bruner, Gertrude Crooks and Sylvia Johnson Edwards; and one brother, Robert Nero.
Georgia’s memory will be forever cherished by her three children: Debra Gail (Rev. Famous) Cochran, Larry Wayne (Gwen) Lewis of Pauls Valley, Okla., and Freda Lynn Guess of Oklahoma City; 10 grandchildren: Truman Duwana Johnson II, Christopher (Dawneve) Johnson, Gabrielle Cochran, Titania Lewis, Brittany Lewis, Charmetra Guess, Natasshia Guess, 13 great-grandchildren: Hannah, Kaitlin, Jordan, Rachel, Karolynn, Sefuan, Rone, Amaunda, Deja, Malayja, Loquisia, Montoya and Holli; one aunt, Tilda Ransom; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, 2005, at the First Baptist Church of Konawa, Okla., under the direction of Temple & Sons Funeral Directors Inc.
Interment is in Grayson Cemetery in Konawa, Okla.
Gary Coker
Funeral Service for Seminole resident Gary Wayne Coker are scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Swearingen Funeral Chapel with Rev. T.J. Fixico officiating.
Interment will follow at the Harjo Family Cemetery in Seminole County under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Wake Services will be from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday.
Coker, age 59, died Saturday, Oct. 8, 2005. He was born Nov. 3, 1945 in Seminole to William and Ellen (Jones) Coker.
He was a member of the Gar Creek Ceremonial Ground. He worked for The Seminole Nation Casino where he worked in maintenance.
Surviving is his wife, Nadine King Coker of the home; one son, Aaron Coker of Seminole; two step-daughters, Nadia King of Seminole and Nellissa Lena of Norman; three brothers, Kenneth Coker of Tecumseh, Keith Coker and Glen Coker of Oklahoma; four sisters, Lula Mae Guiterrez, Sue Tanyan of Tulsa, May Baugh, and Delores Henson of Texas; one half-sister, Maybelline Davis of Sasakwa and six grandchildren
George Coker
Services for Seminole native George Coker are scheduled for 2 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 6 at the Swearingen Funeral Chapel with Dorsey Nero officiating.
Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Visitation will begin Oct. 5, from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m.
George Coker succumbed to Lou Gehrig’s disease on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2005.
A longtime resident of Vacaville, Calif., Mr. Coker was born to David and Selina Micco Coker on the family farm near Seminole, on Aug. 16, 1925.
He was a member of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma and he served with the 390th Bomb Group of the Eighth Army Air Corps during World War II, and was awarded a Purple Heart for injuries received in combat.
Mr. Coker retired from Chevron USA, Quality Control Division, Richmond Refinery in 1985, after thirty-nine years.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Norma; son David; daughter Adrianne Micco; daughter-in-law Aileen Kim; grandsons Chahte Micco and Chris Furr; granddaughter-in-law Teresa Furr; great-grandchildren Marcus and Elyse Thompson and Samantha Furr; his sisters Anna Mae Cash, Della Jones, and Hazel Lusty; many beloved nieces and nephews; and honorary granddaughters Lori Dushane, Amy Quadros, and Miriam Thompson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother David - who was killed in combat during World War II; brother Harry and sisters Helen Hill and Edna Walker.
Jennie Collins
Funeral services for lifelong Konawa resident Jennie Lou (Howell) Collins are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Chapel with Rev. Pam Shirk.
Interment is to follow services at Konawa City Cemetery under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home.
Collins, 100, died Saturday, April 30, 2005 at Grace Living Center in Norman. She was born Jan. 7, 1905 in (Konawa) the Oklahoma Territory to John Carlan Howell and Florence Ann Trapp.
She married Arville J. Collins in Konawa on April 9, 1926. Collins was a 1922 graduate of Konawa High School and of East Central State College.
Collins was a teacher and a homemaker. She received her teaching certification and taught public school until 1926.
Her parents; husband; three brothers, Jerome Howell, Joseph Howell and Phillip Howell; and four sisters, Verna Howell, Maude Mode, Naomi Howell and Margaret Wright.
She is survived by three daughters, Katherine A. Shaw of Norman, Alice N. Fallis of Wichita, Kan. and Margaret J. Gerber of Goodyear, Ariz.; two sons, Arville J. Collins Jr. of Bradenton, Fla. And Lyle H. Collins of Shawnee; two sisters, Barbara Clark of Ardmore and Bernice Latimer of Goodyear, Ariz.; nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Casket bearers for the services will be Jim Fallis, Tim Realyea, Clayton Shaw, Greg Collins, Eric Collins and Brian Collins.
