Funeral services Jerry Leon Collinsworth are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Friday at Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Chapel.
Interment is to follow services at Crossroads Cemetery under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.
On May 30, 2005 Jerry Leon Collinsworth left behind his family and friends to go home to a better place. He passed at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa due to massive internal injuries from an oil field accident.
Leon was born Sept. 30, 1948 in Phoenix, Ariz. to Jerry and Johnnie Collinsworth.
He was a lifelong resident of the Konawa/Sasakwa area and attended Vamoosa and Konawa Schools. He trained horses for most of his life along with working in the oil field.
Leon was preceded in death by his mother, Johnnie Collinsworth, and sister, Shirley Evon Collinsworth.
He leaves behind his wife, Shirley Collinsworth of the home; two sons, Jerome and Randy Collinsworth; two stepsons, Tommy and Dax Byrd and two stepdaughters, Ruby Hemphill and Deanna Byrd.
Other survivors include his father, Jerry Collinsworth of Sasakwa; four sisters, Sharlene Phillips of Seminole, Phyllis Jean Phillips and Carlotta Travels of Sasakwa and Linda Payne of Konawa; and one brother, Bradford Collinsworth of Sasakwa.
Leon will be greatly missed by six brothers-in-law, two sisters-in-law, eight grandkids, 27 nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
Pallbearers will include Bob Harrison, Sonny Lindsey, Dale Jesse, Burl Collinsworth Jr., Tommy Byrd and Dax Byrd.
Debbie Conger
A memorial service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday for former Seminole resident Debbie Ann Conger at Vondel L. Smith and Son Funeral Home in Oklahoma City.
Conger died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2005 at her home in Oklahoma City after a long illness. She was born on July 19, 1956 in Milwaukee, Wis. to James and Judy Potrikus.
She married James Wayne Conger on Nov. 19, 1982 in Oklahoma City. Conger was a schoolteacher at Moore Public Schools for 25 years and was a member of the Methodist Church.
Her father preceded her in death on May 6, 2003.
Surviving her is her husband of the home; her mother and stepfather, Judy and Pat O’Neil of Oklahoma City; one daughter, Nicole Conger of Austin, Texas; two brothers, Davis Potrikus of Racine, Wis. and Craig Potrikus of Dallas, Texas.
Frank Tyson Coody
Funeral services for Konawa resident Frank Tyson Coody are set for 1 p.m. Monday, May 9, 2005, at Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Chapel in Konawa.
Brother Sandy Tiger is set to officiate, with services under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.
Burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery.
Wake services were scheduled to be held Saturday and Sunday evening at 6:30 p.m., at the Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home.
Coody died Thursday, May 5, 2005, at Carl Albert Indian Hospital in Ada, at the age of 18.
He was born Jan. 30, 1987, in Claremore, to Keith Wayne Billie and Wynema Coody.
He attended Konawa Public Schools and worked at the Sonic Drive-In in Konawa.
Coody was baptized on March 21, 2004, at the First Baptist Church in Konawa.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Edith Coody and Roger Coody; and Grandpa Donald Harjo.
Coody is survived by his parents; paternal grandfather Rev. Thomas Billie Sr., Byng; paternal grandmother, Rosie Harjo of Konawa; one brother, Keith Wayne Billie, 11, of Byng; two sisters, Danielle Billie and Michelle Billie, both of Byng.
Pallbearers will be Craig Lankford, Travis Lena, Brandon Hunter, Craig Carpitche, Justin Cully, and Chris Coffin.
Honorary bearers will be Kevin Chapman, Danny Howell, Cordell Tebe, Sam Tiger, George Tiger III, and Thomas Lindsey.
Irma Cook
A memorial service for former Seminole resident, Irma "Granny" Cook was held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel in Purcell.
Cook, age 70 of Washington, Okla., died Friday, Oct. 28, 2005 at the Purcell Municipal Hospital.
She was born Nov. 14, 1934 in Snomac, Okla., near Wolf, as the fifth of six children born to Louis Roscoe Barton and Laura Sampson Barton.
Cook was raised in the country and attended school in Wolf. She started her family at a young age and spent her younger years as a housewife and mother.
After her children were older, she worked 10 years for Seminole Jr. College in the snack bar before retiring in 1996.
She enjoyed working in the snack bar and getting to know the students and listening to their stories.
Her parents; husband, Chris Paul Cook; sister, Donna Rose and brother, Glenn Barton preceded her in death.
Surviving is one son, Jack Schornick of Bay St. Louis, Miss.; three daughters, Jeannie McCaskill of Washington, Toni Rawls and Brandy Gregg, both of St. Louis, Okla.; three sisters, Phyllis Anderson of Delaware, Barbara MacMahon and Loneva Stach, both of Seminole; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Jess R. Coppedge
Graveside services for Seminole resident Jess R. Coppedge are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Holden-ville City Cemetery, with Don Gill officiating.
The family is set to receive friends at Swearingen Funeral Home tonight from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Swearingen Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Coppedge died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2005, at Seminole Medical Center. He was 92.
He was born to Will Coppedge and Nannie (Morris) Coppedge Aug. 11, 1912, in Seminole County, where he lived much of his life.
Coppedge retired from the oilfield but also worked for the brick plant.
He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Coppedge was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Rex and Marty Coppedge of Fairview, Texas; three grandchildren and their spouses, Dr. Mitchell Coppedge of Chickasha, Kelly C. and Paul Little of Frisco, Texas, and Lee Ann and Dr. Scott Cheek of Dallas, Texas; and six great-grandchildren, Casey Coppedge of Oklahoma City, Samantha Coppedge of Norman, Carson and Riley Ann Cheek, both of Dallas, Texas, and Shelby and Whitney Little both of Frisco, Texas.
Floyd Webb Cornelison
Graveside services for father of Wewoka resident Anita Dobbs are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at Hillcrest Cemetery in Ardmore under the direction of Stout-Phillps Funeral Home in Wewoka.
Cornelison died Monday, May 9, 2005, at Unity North in Shawnee at the age of 95.
He was born Aug. 12, 1909, at Lebannon to C.M. and Sophie Crabrtree Cornelison.
Cornelison worked at City Produce and Key’s Feed Store in Ardmore.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Cornelison is survived by his daughter, Anita Dobbs of Wewoka; two sisters, Jade McClendon of Ardmore, and Francis Martin of Denison, Texas; two grandsons; and six great-grandchildren.
Brodrick Cornett
Funeral services for the infant son of Clinton and Tracie Cornett of Seminole are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Friday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Chris Stinnett officiating.
Brodrick "Brody" Freeman Cornett, eight weeks, died Monday, March 14, 2005 at Seminole Medical Center. He was born January 17, 2005 in Shawnee.
Surviving him are his parents and two sisters, Skyla and Patience Cornett, all of the home; maternal grandparents –Steve and Dusty Ramos of Montreal, Mo. and paternal grandparents Boyd and Dee Cornett of Seminole.
Charlie Cosar
Funeral service for grandfather of Wewoka resident Aaron Watashe, Charlie Cosar are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Stout-Phillips Funeral Chapel.
Interment is set to follow at Old Lena Family Cemetery, S.E. of Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka.
Wake services are scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday at Stout-Phillips Chapel. Services will be under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
Cosar died Thursday, March 10, 2005, at Holdenville General Hospital at the age of 83.
He was born on July 7, 1921, in Oklahoma City to Cundy and Losenda Lena Cosar. He married Amanda Randall. She proceeded him in death in January of 1988.
Cosar worked as a self employed mechanic most of his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents Cundy and Losenda Cosar, his wife, Amanda Cosar, one daughter, Charlene Cosar, and one grandson, Clinton Watashe.
Cosar’s survivors include five grandchildren, Renae King of Glenpool, Sophrona Watashe of Glenpool, Cynthia Watashe of Glenpool, Athena Watashe of Glenpool, and Aaron Watashe of Glenpool, and 10 great grandchildren.
Dennis Cotanny
Funeral services for Konawa resident Dennis Dean Cotanny are scheduled for Monday, April 4 at 2 p.m. at Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow at Coon Family Cemetery near Sasakwa.
Wake services are scheduled for Sunday, April 3 at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Officiating the services will be Pastor Billy Coon.
Dennis passed away suddenly March 31, 2005 at Carl Albert Hospital in Ada at the age of 53 years. He was born to Wilford and Jennie (Coon) Cotanny on July 11, 1951 in Claremore, OK.
Dennis is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Deanetta and Donald Givens of Oklahoma City; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Bianca and Kenneth Lawrence of Konawa and DiAnne and Sam Wheeler of Konawa; Sister-in-law, Catherine Cotanny of Maud, his ex-wife, Jeanette Kemp of Oklahoma City and his best friend Ronnie Streetman of Oklahoma City.
Also surviving are three grandchildren, Matthew Cotanny, Joshua and Erica Givens and numerous nieces & nephews who all loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jay Cotanny.
Pallbearers will be Donald Givens, Charles Lawrence, Kenny Lawrence, Jr., Grant Cotanny, Waylon Cotanny, Brian Wheeler, Sam Wheeler, Ronnie Streetman, Hank Harjo and Elmer Wheeler.
Services are under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home.
