Funeral services for former Seminole County resident Geneva Ferrel Dansby were scheduled for 2 p.m. today at the Oil Center Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Rev. Glen Eaves will be officiating the service and interment is to follow at Lightning Ridge Cemetery under the direction of Criswell Funeral Home of Ada.
Dansby, 84, of Stratford, died Saturday, April 9, 2005 at a Wewoka nursing home.
She was born Aug. 30, 1920 in Konawa to John Baxter and Florence Nora Berry Towler.
Dansby attended school at Summer’s Chapel and lived in the Wynnewood and Stratford areas most of her life.
She married Walter "Tay" Dansby on Oct. 26, 1945 in Bastrop County, Texas. He preceded her in death on Jan. 23, 1990.
McDonald Douglas employed her during World War II and then later she worked with Hazel Atlas Glass Company in Ada.
She was a homemaker and a member of Gaar Corner Free Will Baptist Church.
Surviving her are two sons, Ronald Dansby of Ada and Harold Dansby of Stratford; seven daughters, Joetta Brownlee of Pernell, Roberta Hughes of Konawa, Olene Rowe of Oil Center, Edna Streater, Linda Heard, both of Wewoka, Bobbie Holland of Vanoss and Pam Hisaw of Ada.
In addition two sisters, Omega Lee Davis and Lucille Thompson of Ardmore; 23 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren also survive her.
Her grandsons will be serving as bearers.
Lillie Belle Darden
Burial services for Wewoka native Lillie Belle (Coleman) Darden, 81, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Baptist Church of Wewoka with the Rev. L.R. Drinkwater officiating.
Darden died Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2005. She was born Dec. 9, 1923, in Wewoka to James and Lillie Coleman.
She graduated from the Wewoka school system in 1941 and later became a schoolteacher at Wewoka.
In 1945, she married Lawrence C. Darden Sr. who preceded her in death, as did her second husband.
Darden went on to earn degrees in the areas of business, music and teaching.
She taught all levels of education throughout her career including collegiate course work at Southern University in Baton Rouge, La.
In 1956, she became the first African American stenographer at the Department of Human Services in Oklahoma City.
She also worked for the Black Dispatch newspaper of Oklahoma City and for several years was a member of the North Central Accreditation Association of Kansas City, Mo.
Survivors include her four children; one brother, George Coleman; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are under the arrangements of Myers Funeral Home.
Richard D. Darr
Funeral services for former Seminole resident Richard D. Darr are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at Barnes & Johnson Funeral Home in Midwest City.
Burial is to follow services at Blackburn Cemetery in Norman.
Darr, 62, of Midwest City died Sunday, Nov. 6, 2005. He was born in Seminole Aug. 2, 1943 to Roy and Georgia Darr.
Richard was raised and spent many of his adult years in Seminole.
He worked at Tinker Air Force Base in the Jet Engine Repair Facility until his retirement as a Section Chief in 1991.
After his retirement he spent many days at the lake on his houseboat. He truly enjoyed the lake and fishing. He also enjoyed cooking and perfected his very own BBQ recipes for anyone who wanted to eat.
Richard enjoyed spending time with his family and friends during the countless occasions he had cooked for them. His famous ribs will be greatly missed.
His parents, Roy and Georgia Darr of Seminole and one brother, William H. "Corky" Darr preceded him in death.
Surviving is his wife Donna, daughter Laura Morris and granddaughter Morgan, all of the home and six other children and their spouses, Tommy and Diane Darr of Seminole, Carrie and Wes Marshall of Norman, Pat and Kenny Sharp of Kansas, Okla., Jim and Pam Moore of Midwest City, Richard Don Darr Jr. of Kansas, Okla. and Rachel and Shawn Sherfield of Eufaula.
In addition five brothers and six sisters-in-law, Gene and Peggy of Norman, Gary and Kellie of Mineral Wells, Texas, Alan and Lisa of Bowlegs, Kenneth and Barbara of Seminole, Tim and Debbie of Seminole and Jenny Fairbanks of Seminole; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild survive him.
One of Richard’s greatest wishes was to see Granddaughter Morgan go to school, and that wish has come true. We will all miss you so much.
The family would like to offer special thanks to the following for all of their help and understanding: Dr. Mark Weitzel and Dr. Raman, along with all of their staff and St. Anthony’s Hospital.

Annabelle Davis
Funeral services for Sasakwa resident Annabelle (Coker) Davis of Sasakwa are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at Spring Baptist Church with Rev. Frank Moppin and Rev. Houston Tiger officiating.
Interment is scheduled to follow services at Davis Cemetery in Sasakwa under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
Annabelle, 74, passed away Thursday, Sept. 1, 2005 at her home surrounded by her family and friends.
She was born June 22, 1931 in Wewoka to Willie Coker and Mollie (Johnson) Coker. She had one sister, Maybelline Davis, half-sisters, Lula Mae Gutierrez, May Baugh and Delores Henson; half-brothers, Kenneth Coker, Gary Coker, Keith Coker and Glen Coker.
She married Arthur R. Davis Jan. 7, 1945 in Sasakwa. Together they had seven children, Vickie Gibson, Arthur (Bejohn) Davis Jr., Georgia Long, Lou Ann Davis, Marilyn Davis, Terry (Bondo) Davis, all of Sasakwa and Vivian Hall of Wewoka.
Her grandchildren include Victor Davis, Yuana Walker, Lavina Perales, Charles Gibson, Martha Gibson, Eric Hall, Jessica Hall, Rickenda Hall, Jeremy McPerryman, Leah Davis, Tori Long, Alexandria Moser, Charleigh Hitcher, Kim Burgess, Jerilyn Davis, Jesse Howard, Brianna Watkins and Taylor Bible.
She has 25 great-grandchildren and they include: Josh Davis, Racheal Davis, Nathan Davis, Makayla Davis, Kelby Davis, Trenton Davis, Rayla Davis, Camry Walker, Erica Hall, Aleah McPerryman, Sienna McPerryman, Taleah McPerryman, Mick Green, Jonathan Wright, Camryn Wright, Madison Wright, Ryleigh Baker, Emily Baker, Sailor Baker, Schuyler Whiteshirt, Cedric Whiteshirt, Caden Davis, Uriah Fixico, Tiffany Watkins, Brittany Watkins, Steven Watkins, Jr. and Dylan Watkins.
Her parents; husband; brother, Charlie Coker; half-sisters, Sue Wahpekeche and Kathy Coker-Tanyan; half-brother, Charles W. Coker; grandson, Claude Burgess, Jr. and great-grandson, Colten Davis preceded her in death.
A longtime resident of Seminole County, Annabelle attended Ong School in Wewoka until the eighth grade.
She worked as a bilingual teacher for Sasakwa Schools for many years. She then worked for several years as a provider in the Sasakwa area.
Annabelle also volunteered her time to The Seminole Nation Food Distribution Program.
Annabelle was loved by all who met her and will be greatly missed.
Joe Pat Davis
Funeral services for former Seminole County resident Joe Pat Davis are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Seminole Indian Baptist Church at Sasakwa.
A wake will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel and at Seminole Indian Baptist Church from 4 p.m. Tuesday until service time on Wednesday.
Interment is to follow services at the Carpitcher Family Cemetery at Wolf with the Chickasaw Honor Guard conducting military honor.
Davis, 48, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004 at a Dallas hospital. He was born Feb. 18, 1957 in Oklahoma City to Joel P. and Katy Carpitcher Davis.
He graduated from Bowlegs High School and was an electrician and carpenter for the Seminole Nation. He was the assistant manager for Helping Hands Outreach Center in Ada, serving for several years.
Davis was ordained a minister at Okmulgee Baptist Church and formerly served as minister at several area churches. He also served in the Oklahoma National Guard.
His daughter, Kristi Davis and his mother preceded him in death.
Survivors include three brothers, Jackie Freland Davis, Victor Scott Underhill and Tyree Lee Underhill, all of Ada; one sister, Kary Jayne Underhill of Konawa and five grandchildren.
Bearers for the service will be Dennis Eddington, Thomas Tyler, Charlie Jack Harjo, Michael Everett Walker, Marques Walker and Travis Stewart Scott.
Kimberly Davis
Funeral services for Kimberly LaVon Davis of Oklahoma City are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at Evangelistic Baptist Temple, 3129 North MLK Ave., Oklahoma City.
Rev. Tony Wise to officiate the service.
Burial will follow services at Arlington Memorial Gardens under the direction of Pollard Funeral Home, Spencer, Okla.
Davis, 35, died Sunday, Sept. 25, 2005 in Oklahoma City. She was born Aug. 7, 1970 to Johnnie and Joyce Davis in Oklahoma City.
She spent most of the summers of her youth in Wewoka with her grandparents.
Surviving are her four children, Shavon, Shane, Jade and Jody of the home; mother, Joyce Abraham Davis of Oklahoma City and five sisters, Trena Anderson and Marchetta Bert, both of Midwest City, Robbin Williamson of Lawton, Trina Madkin of Wewoka and LaVon King of Tulsa.
Marjorie Davis
Graveside services for longtime Seminole resident Marjorie C. Davis are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Maple Grove Cemetery with Rev. Gary Wilburn officiating.
The services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Davis, 83, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005 at Pioneer Nursing Home. She was born in Fairfax on Aug. 2, 1921 to Claude Starr Chambers and Verna (Creed) Chambers.
She married Dr. George H. Davis on June 23, 1941 in Carmi, Ill. He preceded her in death on April 1, 2003.
In addition her parents and one son, Claude Davis also preceded her in death.
Davis was a homemaker, a member of the First United Methodist Church and a member of the Duplicate Bridge Club in Seminole.
Surviving is her son and daughter-in-law, Starr and Sandra Davis of Shawnee; daughter and son-in-law, Annelt and Howard Allen of Seminole; two granddaughters, Djuana Davis and Ginger Swaim and three great-grandchildren, Brooklin Hilton, Austin Swaim and Hannah Swaim.
Mary Louise Davis
Graveside services for Wewoka resident Mary Louise Davis are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at Oakwood Cemetery with John Dillinger to officiate.
Services are under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
Davis, 75, died in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 30, 1929 to Clarence Herman Owens and Beulah Beatrice (Robinson) Owens.
She married Jack E. Davis Aug. 2, 1955 in Sallisaw and graduated from Harding Academy in Searcy, Ark.
Davis worked for a number of years for Wewoka Nursing Home as a medication aide.
Her parents, husband and son, Wayne Garrison preceded her in death.
Surviving is son, David Chance of Shawnee; two daughters, Marva Webb of Burns Flat and Lisa Findlay of Midwest City; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
