Funeral service for former Seminole Sunday school teacher Linda V. Farley is scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Good Samaritan Church in Kiowa. Rev. Steve Cline is set to officiate.
Interment will be at Blanco Cemetery under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service.
Linda died Monday, Feb. 7, 2005, at McAlester Regional Health Center. She was 51.
Linda was born Oct. 29, 1953, in Krebs to Alvis Anderson and Ruby Viola Hyatt Farley.
She attended elementary school in Krebs and later attended McAlester High School.
Linda was a seamstress, a home care provider and worked with children at day care.
She was an active member of the Trinity Baptist Church of Seminole where she was a Sunday school teacher, bus driver and also a nursery worker.
She moved back to McAlester in 2000 to be closer to her family.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Alvis and Ruby Farley; two brothers, James Smith and Chester Farley; three nephews and two nieces.
She is survived by three sisters and a brother-in-law, Aretta Smith of Verden, Vernie Shaffer of Lequire, Rosie and Neil Copple of Kiowa; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Cecil Farley of Kiowa, Tommy and Gayle Farley of Chickasha, John and Sharon Farley of Chickasha, Don and Pat Farley of Ninacal.
Linda is also survived by 11 nephews; 14 nieces; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; four aunts; three uncles; special family, Lois Bell and children: Tommy, Jr., Michael, Jacob and Mary (Granny) and grandchildren: Eternitie, Destani and Tommy, III, all of McAlester.
Her nephews will be pallbearers.
Agnes Farmer
Funeral services for Agnes Lee Farmer are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday at Stout-Phillips Chapel.
Meredith Robinson will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
Farmer died in Wewoka Nursing Home on April 1, 2005, at the age of 93.
She was born July20, 1911, in Norman to Thomas Lee and Nettie Wilson Farmer.
She moved to Stella when she was 14 months old and moved to Wewoka in 1926.
She worked the laundry for 46 years. She worked at Oakridge Nursing Home for nine years and retired in 1979.
She was a member of the Nazarene Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include two sisters, Neely and Lucille Farmer, both of Wewoka.
Minnie Faxon
Funeral services for former Holdenville resident Minnie Ruth Bruner Faxon are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Many Springs Indian Baptist Church located Southeast of Holdenville.
Rev. Jimmy Anderson will officiate the service and burial will follow services at the Church Cemetery under the direction of Hudson-Phillips funeral Home of Holdenville.
Faxon, 73, of Shawnee, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2005 in Oklahoma City. She was born Jan. 31, 1932 in Holdenville to Izora and Arthur J. Bruner.
She attended high school at Chilocco and Haskell. Minnie was a resident of Shawnee for the past 28 years.
Her parents, Izora and Arthur Bruner, Sr., three brothers, Johnny Lee Bruner, Tippy and Leon Bruner and one son, Michael Faxon preceded her in death.
Survivors include Robert G. Faxon; three daughters, Susan Faxon, Teresa Faxon, both of Oklahoma City and Sandra Smith of Corpus Christi, Texas; four sons, Ronald Faxon and wife, Sylvia, of Corpus Christi, Robert J. Faxon and wife, Penny, of Shawnee, Paul Faxon of Shawnee and Billy Smith of Shawnee.
In addition three sisters, Johnnie Mae Kalinich, Cowena Anderson and Doreen Buck; three brothers, James Bruner, Arthur Bruner, Sr. and Harry Bruner; 29 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends also survive her.
Pall bearers for the service will be Marty Kalinich, Tommy Kalinich, Billy Anderson, John A. Anderson, Leon Bruner, Michael Bruner, Arthur Bruner III and Bobby Buck.
Honorary pallbearers are Mecko Kalinich, John Bruner, Jeff Anderson and Otis Buck.
Elmer Ferguson
Funeral services for longtime Seminole resident Elmer Fred Ferguson have been scheduled for 4 p.m. Friday, at Swearingen Funeral Chapel with Rev. Roy Robertson officiating.
Interment will follow at Wolf Cemetery in Seminole County.
Ferguson, age 95, died Wednesday, April 13, 2005, at Maple Lawn Manor in Hydro. He was born November 15, 1909 to George Larry and Roxie Mae (Harris) Ferguson in Wilzetta, Oklahoma.
He worked in the oilfield during the 1920’s during the Seminole oil boom.
In the 1930’s he owned and operated a barbershop in the Vamoosa area. He also did some farming and was later a carpenter.
He married Johnnie Banks Oakes on September 22, 1933 in Maud. They were married for 71 years.
He is survived by three sons and daughters-in law; Ronny and Esther Ferguson of Dumas, Texas, Bill and Sue Ferguson of Prague, Fred and Debi Ferguson of Tahlequah, and one daughter and son-in-law: Mary and Leroy Roberson of Weatherford.
In addition he has eight grandchildren; Gary Ferguson, Donavan Ferguson, ViAnn Reed, Robert Ferguson, John Ferguson, Michele Schanbacher, Jenifer Smith, Michael Roberson; three step grandchildren; Jamie Owens, Melissa Shelley and Philip Wood; 21 great grandchildren and six step great grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Ferguson of Shawnee and Geneva Davis of Tecumseh; one brother: Charles Ferguson of Shawnee and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife of 71 years, Johnnie Banks Ferguson in 2004, one grandson, Jeff Roberson in 2001, 2 great granddaughters, Robin and Rachelle Ferguson, two brothers Cecil Ferguson and William Ferguson, one sister Prudie Willmon and one half sister Edith Wise.
Emma Dale Fidler
Funeral services for long-time Konawa resident Emma Dale Fidler are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Assembly of God Church in Konawa with Mitch Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Konawa Cemetery under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home in Konawa.
Fidler died Monday, Oct. 17, 2005, at the age of 85 in her Konawa residence.
She was born on Jan. 25, 1920, in Greenbriar, Ark., to Benny J. Bolton and Lela R. (Hawkins) Bolton.
On Jan. 28, 1935, she married Charles E. Fidler in Tecumseh.
She was owner/operator of Fidler Orchard since 1955.
Fidler was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Konawa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Benny and Lela Bolton; husband, Charles E. Fidler on Jan. 26, 2003; two brothers, J.D. and Benny Bolton; sister, Zenoma Truman; and a great grandson, Jake Newby.
Fidler is survived by one son, Jarrett Fidler of Konawa; daughter, Sharon D. Hogue of Konawa; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Tracy Fidler, Steve Newby, Leon Hager, Leighton Littell, Terry Fidler, and Landon Littell.
Amanda Finley
A memorial service has been scheduled for Amanda Finley at 11 a.m. on Friday at the First United Methodist Church in Seminole.
Rev. Dave Karges and Rev. Gary Wilburn will be officiating. Interment will follow services at Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Amanda Finley, 84, of Blanchard, Okla., passed away Saturday, April 9, 2005 at her home.
She was born Jan. 12, 1921 in Louise, Miss. to Hiram Leonard and Marcia Maria (Hendricks) Hackler.
Amanda married Roger Claude Finley on Sept. 20, 1941 in Yazoo City, Miss.; he preceded her in death on Jan. 21, 2003.
She was a member of the Eastern Star and First United Methodist Church. Claude and Amanda were very involved in the Seminole State College Athletic Program.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Charlotte and Dennis Hazelrigg of Gilbert, Ariz. and Marcia and Dan Lynch of Blanchard; four grandchildren and their spouses, DeLaine and Rick Bender of Lexington, Ky., Robin and Bobby Wortham of Marlow, Kyle and Rhonda Hazelrigg of Owasso and Mallory and Scott Benne of Bartlesville.
In addition are 12 great-grandchildren, Robert and Jenna Bender, Jordan, Lauren and Olivia Perkins, Drew, Caleb and Anneelise Wortham, Sydney, Nicholas and Maggie Hazelrigg and Regan Benne surviving her.
Viewing is scheduled to be held at Ferguson Funeral Home, located at 804 Utah in Chickasha, from 8 a.m. – 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Ola May Fitzwater
Funeral services for Ola May Fitzwater, Seminole, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel.
Chris Stinnett will officiate.
Burial will follow in Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Fitzwater died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2005, at Seminole Estates Nursing Home, at the age of 91.
She was born June 8, 1913, in Weleetka, to Frank Garrison McElroy and Flora Marcella Sims.
She graduated from Prairie View High School, west of the Little community.
She lived in Arizona, California, Missouri, Kansas and other parts of Oklahoma before moving to Seminole.
She was manager for a Firestone Tire Store in Kansas City, Mo., and assisted her husband in their dry cleaning business.
She worked for Katz Drug Store in Kansas City, retiring in 1974.
She was a member of the Church of Christ.
She married Thornton E. Davis on May 14, 1933; he preceded her in death.
She later married Bruce Fitzwater, who also preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Glen McElroy; and three sisters, Sibyl Cagle, Betty Fisher and Thelma Parks.
Survivors include one brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Frances McElroy of Seminole; one son, Thornton Elvin Davis of Leucadia, Calif.; one grandchild, Vicki Walsh; three great-grandchildren, Patrick, Katie and Allison Walsh; one brother-in-law, Bill Parks of Seminole; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
