Funeral services for longtime Konawa resident Emma (King) Fixico are scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel with T.J. Fixico officiating.
A wake service is scheduled for 6 p.m. tonight in Swearingen Funeral Chapel. Interment is to follow funeral services at the Harjo Family Cemetery.
Fixico, 84, died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005 at Unity North in Shawnee. She was born April 12, 1920 in Seminole to Albert and Ella (Wolf) King.
She married Oscar Fixico in 1936. She moved to Tecumseh four and a half years ago and then most recently to Seminole.
Fixico was a homemaker and a member of the Hitchitee Methodist Church.
Her parents; husband; two sons, Leon and Thomas Fixico; two daughters, Elizabeth and Barbara Ann Fixico; one brother Henry King and one sister, Mary Haney all preceded her in death.
Surviving her are three sons, Donald Fixico of Shawnee, Robert Fixico of Okemah and James Fixico of Shawnee; three daughters, Cecilia Cameron of Washington, Eloise Fixico and Hildean Fixico both of Tecumseh; one sister, Virginia Blanchard of Shawnee; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Pall bearers for the service will be Larry Harjo, Sean Lefthand, Adam Robertson, Brian Mitchell, Willie Dean Harjo and Tony Garcie.
Willie Fixico
Funeral services for lifelong Seminole resident Willie Fixico are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bird Creek Baptist Church, near Sasakwa.
Jeff Factor and Floyd Cooper are to officiate with interment to follow services at Bird Creek Church Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Fixico, 81, died Saturday, Sept. 10, 2005 at home. He was born Dec. 22, 1923 in Sasakwa to Chebon and Nora (Bean) Fixico.
He married Elizabeth Larney and is a former jet mechanic at Tinker Air Force Base.
Fixico served his country in the United States Marine Corps and was a member of Bird Creek Church.
His parents, wife, one sister, one brother and one great-great grandson preceded him in death.
Surviving are four sons, Sam Fixico of Shawnee, Robert Fixico of Oklahoma City, Mike Fixico and Max Fixico and five daughters, Louella Looper of Blackwell, Lahunta Paschal of Wewoka, Lahoma Tiger of Seminole, Norene Fixico and Mandy Fixico, both of Blackwell.
In addition, one brother, Webster Fixico of Konawa; 33 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren survive him.
Charley Flannery
A chapel service is scheduled for former longtime Seminole resident Charley R. Flannery at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment is to follow services at Little Cemetery with Darell Brown officiating.
Flannery, 86, died Friday, Jan. 28, 2005 at Heritage Hills Nursing Home. He was born Oct. 29, 1918 in Savanna to Patrick and Josie May (Cross) Flannery.
He married Alma Brown on July 7, 1942 in Poteau. Flannery was a self-employed boot maker and shoe –repairman for many years in Midland, Texas and Seminole.
Flannery was a sergeant in the United States Army during World War II. He was a wireman with the 136th Infantry, 33rd Division.
During his military experience he was influential in the drive for Baguio in Northern Luzon. He received the Good Conduct Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre Ribbon with two battle stars, and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with a battle star for the Luzon Campaign.
Flannery was a member of the Trinity Baptist church. His parents and sister, Reba Black, preceded him in death.
Surviving him are: his wife; one son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Judy Flannery of Seminole; one daughter and son-in-law, Sernanda and David Anderson of Arpelar, Okla.; and one sister, Margie McGuire of Clarkston, Wash.
In addition he has eight grandchildren, Michael Flannery, Micki Yarbrough, William Anderson, Serna Anderson, Dana Thompson, Laura Page, Leslie Prigge and Jacque Orndorf; 18 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren surviving him.
J.E. "Joe" Fletcher
Funeral services for Maud resident J.E. "Joe" Fletcher are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church of Maud with Rev. Carl Whitfield to officiate.
Interment is to follow with military honors at Cummings Cemetery under the direction of Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home.
Visitation is to be held at Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home Saturday 9 a.m. – 7 p.m., Sunday 12 – 7 p.m. and Monday until the time of service.
Fletcher, 72, passed away Thursday, Dec. 1, 2005 at Unity North Hospital in Shawnee. He was born March 11, 1955 in Maud to Robert Jennings "Buck" Fletcher and Bertha (Guinn) Fletcher.
Joe married Shirley Louise Horner on June 1, 1955 in Medford, Okla.
He owned and operated J.E. Fletcher Trucking Company for many years in Maud and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Maud.
Fletcher was a sergeant in the United States Army and served his country with pride.
His parents; wife, Shirley Fletcher; daughter, Jacqueline Deane Fletcher; son, James "Neil" Fletcher; two brothers, David Fletcher and an infant brother Jerald Fletcher preceded him in death.
Surviving Joe are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Barry E. and Jennifer Fletcher of Maud and Corey A. Fletcher of Shawnee; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Joel and Patricia Fletcher and Verlin and Barbara Fletcher, all of Maud; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Sherri and Randy Hillburn and Bernice and Kenneth Stalnaker, all of Maud; one sister-in-law, Coleene Fletcher of Seminole and granddaughter, Ashley Fletcher of Maud.
Casket bearers for the services will be Cary Fletcher, Larry Fletcher, Rob Fletcher, Steve Fletcher, Tommy King, Jeremiah Fletcher, Mike Stalnaker and Randy Hillburn.
Clara Irene Ford
Graveside services for Wewoka native Clara Irene Ford are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Factor Family Cemetery in Wewoka.
Arrangements are under the direction of Mish Funeral Home in Bakersfield, Calif.
Ford passed away Monday, Sept. 26, 2005. She was born Dec. 23, 1920 in Wewoka.
She had resided in Bakersfield for the last 43 years and has attended Columbus Street Baptist Church.
Her husband, Gene Ford, preceded her in death.
Two children, daughter Saundra Blankenship and her husband Don of Bakersfield, and son, Clifford Ford and his wife Carol of Fountain Hills, Ariz., survive her. She has five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Clara loved the Lord and is with him in Heaven.

Konawan Dies After Texas Truck Wreck
A 66-year-old Konawa man died in a Texas hospital Monday, after his 18-wheeler overturned in Texas.
Family members said Guy Lester Foreman Jr. was in the hospital when he had the stroke that led to his death.
According to a police report from the Anna, Texas, Police Department, Foreman was driving a 1995 Freightliner tractor-trailer southbound on US 75, just north of Farm-to-Market Road 455, on Thursday, June 23.
The truck "veered off the road for an unknown reason and turned on its side in the ditch next to the highway," said Officer John Dragoo in the report.
Another driver who saw the crash told police that he saw the truck "just drive off the road like the driver had either fallen asleep or was having medical problems."
The accident occurred at 9:03 p.m. The truck was owned by the Dart Transit Company.
Dragoo said Foreman was taken by a CareFlight helicopter to Methodist Hospital in Dallas, Texas. It was there that he died on Monday.
A memorial service for Foreman is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, July 9 at the family’s Konawa residence.
Arrangements are being directed by Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.
He was born March 21, 1939, in Muskegon, Mich., to Guy Lester Foreman Sr. and Cora Alfie (Woodard) Foreman.
He was a resident of Konawa and Maud who worked as a truck driver for many years. Dart Transit Company was his current place of employment.
Foreman served his country in the U.S. Army from July 30, 1956, to Sept. 17, 1959. A family member said he was in the Green Berets and the Army Airborne during that time.
He married Shirilan Porter on May 9, 1968, in Oklahoma City.
Foreman was preceded in death by his parents and one son Jayson Foreman, on Dec. 12, 2004.
Surviving is his wife, Shirilan Foreman; one daughter, Susan Shay of Konawa; one brother, Harold Foreman of Maud; three sisters, Carolyn Rackley of Maud, Mae Castle of Newcastle and Darlene Hailey of Choctaw; and four grandchildren.
Lynda Foster
Funeral services for former Konawa resident Lynda Louise Vogt Foster are scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Konawa with Rev. Mark Streetman to officiate.
Interment is to follow services at Vamoosa Cemetery under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home.
Foster, 44, died Thursday, Sept. 8, 2005 at Norman Regional Hospital. She was born July 22, 1961 in Ada to Dr. Milton W. Vogt and Ann (Cochran) McElroy.
She married Daniel Foster on July 22, 1995 in Norman and worked as a physician’s assistant for the State of Oklahoma.
Foster attended East Central University in Ada and graduated from the OU Health Sciences Center. She was a member of Berry Road Baptist Church in Norman.
Her stepfather, Melvin McElroy preceded her in death in 2003.
Surviving is her husband of the home; her father, Dr. Milton W. Vogt and wife Glenda of Savanna; her mother, Ann McElroy of Norman; one son, Josh Foster of Siloam Springs, Ark.; one daughter, Tanya Foster of Siloam Springs, Ark.; two brothers, Wayne Vogt of Wilburton and Michael Vogt of Oklahoma City and three sisters, Lee Ann Duck of Konawa, Lisa Lee of Burlington, Kan. and Malyn Vogt of Oklahoma City.
Carlisle Freeman
Funeral services for Wewoka resident Carlisle (Carl) Freeman were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Stout- Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Alfred Berryhill officiating.
Interment followed the services at Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
Freeman, 86, died Wednesday, July 6, 2005 in the Veterans Center at Claremore. He was born Aug. 6, 1918 in Edna to Carlisle Sr. and Louvina (Harjo) Freeman.
He attended school at Wewoka and went to Jr. College in Muskogee where he met his wife Joan Walker.
They married in Oakgrove on June 1948. The couple lived in Wewoka until 1952, moving to Wichita, Kan.
In 1957, the family moved to California where they remained until returning to Wewoka in 1995.
Freeman was a World War II Veteran and was in the 1st wave with the Army Rangers. He landed at Normandy on D-Day and was a combat engineer for the 38th Infantry in the 2nd Division.
His parents and his wife Joan preceded him in death.
Surviving are his children Jeff Carlisle Freeman, David Oliver Freeman and James Michael Freeman; three grandchildren; one brother, Robert Freeman and one sister Ruby Bernard.
