Funeral services for Holdenville resident, Freda Freeman, are to be held 10 am, Friday at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Holdenville with Rev. Meredith Robinson and Rev. Jimmy Been officiating.
A committal service will be held at 3 p.m., Friday at Memorial Cemetery in Enid under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.
Freda Victoria Freeman was born Dec. 27, 1916 in Ada to William Benjamin Cathey and Cecil Irene Johnson Cathey.
Mrs. Freeman passed away in Holdenville on Tuesday, May 31, 2005 at the age of 88.
She was a lifetime resident of Sasakwa and a member of the Harvest Time Tabernacle in Holdenville.
Pallbearers are Johnny Massad, Billy Jack Norman, Dickey Bryan, Victor Johnson, Roger Streetman and Gary Phillips.
Honorary bearers are Ronnie Cherry, Dempsey Ralston, Hiram Ralston, Tony Ralston, Jimmy Joe Harjo, Claude Clark, Randy Coody, Gary Kilpatrick, and Gene Choate.
Freda was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Napoleon Freeman on March 11, 1977. They were married Dec. 31, 1930 in Sasakwa.
Mrs. Freeman enjoyed crocheting afghans, quilting and sewing. She loved attending church and singing hymns.
Her parents, husband, siblings, Billye Joe, Thelma, Oletha, and Finis and one grandson, Mitch Gravlee, will greet Freda in heaven.
Survivors are her children, Lucille Gravlee of Enid, Lou Freeman of Sasakwa, Russell Freeman and wife, Joella, of Garden City Kansas, Benny Freeman and wife, Mary Lou, of Jonesboro Arkansas, Jimmie Freeman and wife, Patty, of Sasakwa; double cousin, Margie Hernandez of Wewoka; sister, Vealin Fountain of Bossier City, Louisiana, Edith Oliver of Wewoka, and Vinita Chaffin of Wewoka.
She leaves seventeen grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Ronald Friend
Ronald Friend, loving husband of Doris, passed away suddenly Aug. 5, 2005 at his home doing what he always loved, working on his farm.
He was born in Perry, Oklahoma on Oct. 16, 1936 to Roy C. and Ruth (Studebaker) Friend.
Ronald married Doris June Dahl on Nov. 24, 1954 in Perry, Oklahoma. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in November 2004.
He worked in the oilfield all of his life until his retirement in 2002, whereupon he and Doris moved back to Perry to pursue his hobby of raising cattle and working on the farm.
Ronald was a member of the Noble County Cattlemen’s Association, Rock Township Fire Department and the Noble County Control Burn Association.
He was an avid OSU football fan, who enjoyed traveling, playing cards and always had a story to tell. He enjoyed life to the fullest. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
A graveside memorial service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, 2005 at the Grace Hill Memorial Pavilion. John Dolezal will officiate.
Services will be under the direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home.

Ronald is survived by his wife, Doris of the home, two sons, Mickeal Ray Friend and his wife Rosario, Bobby Dean Friend and his wife Karen, all of Seminole, Oklahoma; two daughters, Brenda Harmon and her husband, Terry, of Perry, Oklahoma and Ronda Meyers and her husband, Dennis, of Indiahoma, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren, Roslynn Friend, Mickeal Roy Friend, Jason Friend and his wife Tonya, Brian Friend and his wife, Kirsten, all of Seminole, Oklahoma, Lee Harmon and his wife, Lindsey, Lance Harmon and his girlfriend Misty and Lyle Harmon, all of Perry, Oklahoma, Ashley Hall and her husband, Billie of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Charity Moxley and her husband Tim and Christian Sadler and his wife, Nicole, all of Perry, Oklahoma and six great-grandchildren, Karlei Friend and Tatum Friend, both of Seminole, Oklahoma, Landon Harmon of Perry, Oklahoma, Ashtun Friend of Seminole, Oklahoma, Haiden Moxley and Cade Moxley, both of Perry, Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Debbie Sadler, his parents, Roy and Ruth Friend and three brothers, Vern Friend, Glen Friend and Jackie Friend.
Barbara Olene Fry
Graveside services for Konawa resident Barbara Olene Fry are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell.
Rev. Charley Henthorn is to officiate and the services are under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home.
Fry, 89, died Tuesday, July 5, 2005 at Jan Francis Care Center in Ada. She was born Dec. 25, 1915 in Wayne, Okla. to Edward and Nancy (Avery) Barton.
She married Roy C. Fry July 25, 1936 in Purcell and was a homemaker and member of the Baptist church in Kingston.
Fry moved to Konawa in 1997 from Kingston, and also lived in Purcell for several years.
Her parents, husband (May 22, 2003), two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
Surviving is one son, Roy Fry Jr. of Chihuahua, Mexico; one daughter, Monte Surber of Konawa; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Juanita Evelyn Gann
Funeral services for former Wewoka resident Juanita Evelyn Gann are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at Hilltop Freewill Baptist Church in Wewoka.
Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Russell Ryker officiating and under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home. Her grandsons will be acting as pallbearers.
Gann, 85, died Tuesday, March 1, 2005 at Methodist Home in Enid. She was born June 27, 1919 in Atwood to Elmer and Ruby (Baker) Robinson.
She married Howard Gann on Aug. 17, 1934 in Wewoka. She worked at IGA as a grocery checker and was a member of Hilltop Freewill Baptist Church.
Her parents; husband; one son, Darrell Gann and one daughter, Phyllis Gann preceded her in death.
Survivors include daughter Diana Mack of Lucien; three sons, Donald Gann of Lowell, Ark., Ronald Gann of Enid and Roger Gann of Casper, Wyo.; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Kyesha Sariah Garfield
Funeral services for Kyesha Sariah Kylean Garfield are scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday at Thomas Town Baptist Church Cemetery.
Rev. Famous Cochran will officiate. Burial will be under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
The child died Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, at her home at the age of four months.
She was born Sept. 15, 2004, in Ada to Adolph L. Garfield and Jessica Harrison.
Survivors include her parents, of the home; three brothers, Kyle Severs, Wewoka, Monterio and De’Angelo Garfield, both of McAlester; four sisters, Kisha Harris, Ada, Iesha Harrison, Falicia and A’riah Garfield, all of Wewoka; grandparents, Rev. and Mrs. H.P. Bradshaw and Willie and Wanda Bruner of Wewoka, and Anold Zollicoffer, Oklahoma City.
James Ira Gates
Funeral services for Seminole resident James Ira Gates are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday at Shannon Rose Hill Cemetery in Ft. Worth, Texas.
Gates, 88, died in Seminole Sunday, June 19, 2005. He was born June 11, 1917 in El Paso, Texas to Fred Ira Gates and Lida Luella (Ashby) Gates.
He moved to Seminole in 1996 from Ft. Worth, Texas where he had been a longtime resident.
Gates married Ruth Iris Gates on May 25, 1951 in Ft. Worth, Texas she preceded him in death in 1996.
He was a clerk in the accounting division for the FFA in Ft. Worth and he retired in the spring of 1981. Gates was a member of Disciples of Christ Church.
Gates served in the United States Army as a Staff Sergeant and was the personal secretary of a commanding General during the war.
Surviving is daughter Suzanne Iris Azlin of Seminole and three grandchildren.
Casket bearers will be B.J. Roberson, Jared Sutton, Max Azlin, Jon Azlin and Timothy Azlin. James Wood will be serving as an honorary bearer.
Elizabeth Grace Gentry
Graveside services for Elizabeth Grace Gentry are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday at Rosville Cemetery with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Elizabeth died shortly after the birth of she and her twin sister Thursday, Oct. 13, 2005 in Oklahoma City. She is the daughter of Debra Kay (Bowser) Faulkner and Tommy Joe Gentry of Seminole.
Her paternal grandfather, James Gentry; paternal great-grandfather, Elvis Spoon and maternal great-grandmother, Myrna Gingrich preceded her in death.
Surviving are her parents; two sisters, Meaghan Faulkner of Tahlequah and twin sister, Madyson Gentry of Seminole; grandparents, Darla Spoon of Seminole, Geraldine Campbell of Stamps, Ark. and Richard Bowser of Raton, N.M. and great-grandparents, Gladys Spoon of Meeker and James Gingrich of Salem, Ore.
Louise Gentry
Memorial services for former Seminole resident Louise Gentry will be held at a later date and arranged by the family.
Gentry, age 77, of Bay City, Texas died Thursday, Oct. 20, 2005 in Texas. She was born Nov. 30, 1927 in Seminole to William J. "Bill" and Malissa Gentry.
Her parents, four brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
Surviving are two sons, Larry Cain of Austin, Texas and Steve Cain of Matagorda, Texas; two grandsons and two sisters, Dee Dee Goodwin of Murietta, Calif. and Mary Payne of Hominy, Okla.
Charles Goodwin
Graveside services for Wewoka resident Charles "Gube" Fred Goodwin were held today at 2 p.m. at Glory Cemetery of Holdenville, under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.
Goodwin died Monday, May 9, 2005 at Holdenville General Hospital. He was born in Jennings on July 15, 1926 to Charles Moore Goodwin and Mary W. Stephens Goodwin.
He was a heavy equipment operator and worked for several private companies.
In addition, he worked for the Oklahoma State Department of Highways and Hughes County, and was the Holdenville Street Commissioners for one term.
His parents; three brothers, Virgil Burl Goodwin, John James Goodwin and Boyd "Pete" Goodwin; and special lady friend, Virginia McClanahan, preceded him in death.
Surviving is his son Glen Goodwin and two grandchildren.
Clifton Gordon
Graveside services for former Wewoka resident Clifton Gordon are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Westwood Cemetery under the direction of Myers Mortuary.
Rev. B.G. Renfro of Parker’s Chapel Baptist Church will be officiating.
Gordon, 74, of Oklahoma City, died Thursday, March 31, 2005 at OU Medical (Presbyterian Tower).
He was born Feb. 29, 1931 in Nobletown Community of Wewoka to Henry Gordon and Pearl Davis.
Gordon lived in Seminole County until 1952. He worked for Carl Cox in Wewoka for eight years or longer, Bama Pie Company, the Candy Company and for the Oklahoma City Park and Recreation Service.
His parents; five brothers, Nathaniel, Napoleon, Jimmy Lee, Ketter and Tom; and one sister, Dora Mae Stephens, all preceded him in death.
He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Oklahoma City.
Surviving him are two sons, Anthony Standfield and Anthony Gordon, both of Oklahoma City; four daughters, Linda Bivens of Sacramento, Calif., Jo Ann Thomas, Charlotte Gordon and Teresa Gordon, all of Oklahoma City; one sister, Louise Gordon of Oklahoma City; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
