Graveside funeral services for former Seminole resident Thersie Marie Houck are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Maple Grove Cemetery.
Rev. Carl Whitfield will officiate. Burial will be under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Houck died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2005, at Village Health Care Center, Broken Arrow, at the age of 95.
She was born May 29, 1909, in Kingston, Ark., to John David and Sarah (Bowen) Grigg.
She was married to Albert L. Houck, who died May 10, 1977.
She lived in Seminole for 50 years.
She worked for Seminole Hospital for 20 years and then as a caregiver until her retirement.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Matthews Methodist Church, Tulsa.
Houck had lived at Village Health Care Center for the past three years.
Survivors include a daughter, Donna Shelton, Broken Arrow; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
She was the last survivor of 10 children and was also preceded in death by her parents and one infant son.
Pamela Kay Howard
Pamela Kay Howard, former resident of Wewoka, passed away June 6, 2005, in Hobbs, N.M.
Pam Howard, was born Pamela Kaye Carlin, to William (Bill) W. Carlin and Bruce Alene Carlin. She was born April 8, 1945.
Thelma Marie Slate, of Rudidoso, N.M., and Timothy James Carlin, of Zigzag, Ore., survive as her younger sister and brother. Pam’s eldest brother, William Bruce Carlin, preceded her in death.
Pamela met and married Robert (Bob) Groves Howard, Jr., on Sept. 22, 1962. For nearly 43 years, she was a friend and a wife to this man.
Robert Groves Howard III, of Old Hickory, Tenn., is Pamela’s oldest son. William Carlin Howard, of Friona, Texas, is her son and middle child. Elizabeth Elaine (Howard) Armijo, of Hobbs, N.M., is Pamela’s daughter, best friend and youngest child.
Pamela has two daughters-in-law: Linda Louis Howard and Beth Anne Howard. She has five grandchildren: Ashlee Brooke Howard, Taylor Reid Armijo, Eric William Tackett, Tara Lynn Gunderson, Aaron Lamson Tackett (who preceded her in death).
Also, Pam had one great-grandchild by marriage, Lauren Mae Tackett.
Pam has five brothers-in-law and four sisters-in-law on the Howard–side of the family.
This means she has approximately 19 nieces and nephews. Add another five nieces and nephews from her brothers and sisters. As a result, the family tree continues to grow.
She is also survived by her aunt, Alta Faye (Linam) Klein, and her cousin George Linam Klein and family.
Grandmother Thelma Webber, her parents Bruce and Bill, and Harry Scott Klein (a cousin) all preceded her in death.
Pam grew up in the family business: farming and ranching.
She spent eight years in the motorcycle business, with husband Bob.
Pam also worked at New Mexico Bank and Trust as well as a service parts distributor for Waukesha-Pearce Industries.
Then ultimately back to the family ranching business.
Pamela had a genuine love for the ranch and for the land. That exact love was transferred to the many people she encountered. It was very important that her business was performed in an honest manner, especially with her fellow ranchers and neighbors.
Pam was a football mom, a baseball mom, a piano lesson mom, a basketball mom, a 4-H Club mom, a mom to just about anybody who enjoyed her love and attention.
She had well over 300 college credit hours, which attributed to her receiving an Associates Degree in Arts, at the New Mexico Junior College.
A visitation for family and friends is scheduled from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, at the Chapel of Hope in Hobbs, NM. Family members will be present during the visitation from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
A rosary service is set to be held at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home, Wewoka, on Friday at 7 p.m.
Mass has been scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Seminole.
Pamela Kaye (Carlin) Howard will reach her family resting place, Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka.
A memoriam may be given in her honor to the Joe Arrington Cancer and Research Center, Lubbock, Texas. Gifts should be directed to the "Chorus of Angels" program, there at the cancer center.
Sarah Howard
Sarah Howard, 80, died Monday, July 18, 2005, in Lubbock, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 21 2005, in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. Rob Lindley, pastor of First United Methodist Church officiating.
Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Howard was born Oct. 17, 1924, in Stillwell. She grew up in Bowlegs and graduated from high school there.
She graduated from Oklahoma A&M University with a degree in Elementary Education.
She married Wallace Howard on May 4, 1946, in Seminole. She was a homemaker a schoolteacher and later became a school administrator.
She taught schools in Bowlegs, Seminole, Drumright and Cushing and Farmington, N.M.
Retiring in 1982, they moved back to Seminole. They moved to Tulia, Texas in 1998.
Mr. Howard died Feb. 17, 2001.
She was very active in the Methodist churches where they lived as a Sunday School teacher and church pianist.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, National Federation Women’s Club and First United Methodist Church of Tulia.
She is survived by her daughter, Terressa Leonard of Farmington, N.M.; her son and daughter-in-law, Ben and Susan Howard of Tulia, Texas; four grandchildren and their spouses, Chad and Carol Howard of Clovis, N.M., Sarah and Michael Allen of Lubbock, Texas; Missy Howard of Lubbock, Texas; and Brady and Heather Lane of Farmington, N.M.; two great-granddaughters, Tylynn Lane of Farmington, N.M.; and Madison Howard of Clovis, N.M.

Dan Earl Howell
Graveside services for longtime Wolf-Seminole resident Dan Earl Howell are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Friday at Maple Grove Cemetery with military honors.
The arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Howell, 83, passed away Thursday, Dec. 13, 2005 at Southwest Medical Center in Lawton. He was born Feb. 21, 1922 in Sherman, Texas to Carl and Mattie Francis (Smidcht) Howell.
He married Ozie Mae Yerby over 55 years ago. He was a self employed painter and member of the Church of Christ in Seminole.
Dan served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He was a private first class in the 334th Infantry, 84th Division and received a Bronze Star.
Surviving is his stepson, Charles and wife Joann Posey of Seminole; three sisters, Jewel Powell of Dallas, Texas, Jessie Allbright and Wanda Gilley, both of Oklahoma City and one brother, Delbert Howell of California.
In addition, three grandchildren, Brad Posey of Wolf, Phillip and wife Peggy of Eufaula and Laura Long and husband David of Seminole; eight great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren also survive him.
Clora Hubbard
Funeral services for lifelong Seminole County resident Clora S. Hubbard are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at Macedonia Baptist Church in Wewoka with Rev. Wilmer E. Cooper, First Baptist Church Lima, to officiate.
Interment is to follow services at Lima Cemetery under the direction of Myers Mortuary.
Hubbard, 80, of Lima, died Friday, March 18, 2005 at Integris Southwest Medical Center in Oklahoma City. She was the daughter of Oscar and Lottie (Oliver) Shelton.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Lima where she served as an usher, member of the choir, and a Sunday school teacher.
Hubbard worked as a domestic worker and also served as a cook at Old Lima School and New Lima School for 28 years before retiring.
Her parents; four brothers, Oscar, Robert, Sylvester and Anderson; and three sisters, Louise, Annie and Hester all preceded her in death.
Surviving her is her daughter Celindel Jefferson of the home, two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Alice Huddleston
Funeral services for the mother of Seminole residents, Vernon Huddleston and Jewell Ann Burns, were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 11, 2005 at Brown’s Chapel of the Fountains in Borger, Texas.
Rev. Leonard Forsythe, Pastor of Bible Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be at Highland Park Cemetery in Borger.
Alice Huddleston, 92, died Thursday, June 9, 2005 at Borger Healthcare in Borger, Texas. She was born Oct. 20, 1912 in Clayton, N.M.
Huddleston was a Borger resident for 60 years and owned a nursery in her own home.
Her husband, Henry Huddleston on Feb. 11, 1949; one brother, Bill Gonzales; two sisters; two sons, Orbe and Ligie; two grandsons, Dean Huddleston and True Burns preceded her in death.
Surviving are two sons, Allen Huddleston of Borger and Vernon Huddleston of Seminole; daughter Jewell Ann Burns of Seminole; sister, Elnora Lovato of Albuquerque, N.M.; five brothers, Alfonso Gonzales of Ardmore, Richard Gonzales of Raton, N.M., Joe Gonzales of Santa Fe, N.M., Alex Gonzales of Albuquerque, N.M. and Hap Gonzales of Raton, N.M. and 12 grandchildren.
Chris Hudson
Funeral services for Wewoka resident Chris Hudson are scheduled for 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Cooper Funeral Chapel in Tecumseh.
Interment is to follow services at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home.
Hudson, 35, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2005 in Wewoka. He was born Aug. 5, 1969 in Holdenville to Gilbert and Kathryn "Katy" (Stokes) Hudson.
He attended Tecumseh Schools from kindergarten through 7th grade then continued at Perkins Schools through high school.
Hudson later moved to the Seminole area and had resided in Wewoka for the past few months.
He worked as a welder and was owner/operator of Elementree Design Computer Software Company. Hudson was an artist and musician who enjoyed Motor Cross.
Survivors include his parents of Cromwell; daughter Kierstin Hudson of the home; son Zachary Hudson of the home; brother Shane Hudson of Cromwell and grandmother Sammy Lou Hudson of Ada.
