Graveside services for longtime Seminole resident Virgie May McDaniel are scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Maple Grove Cemetery with Father Basil Keenan, O.S.B. to officiate.
The service will be under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Family will receive friends from 6 – 7 p.m. on Friday at Swearingen Funeral Home.
McDaniel, 90, died Wednesday, February 23, 2005 at Seminole Estates Nursing Home. She was born Sept. 3, 1914 In Taft, Mo. to Samuel E. Dodd and Allie May Davis.
She married Bob McDaniel who has preceded her in death in 1983. McDaniel was a homemaker and a member of the Catholic Church.
Surviving her are niece Linda Smith and her husband Gerald of Pampa, Texas; niece Tommie Jean Campbell and her husband Ronnie of Ponca City; Kim and Joel Kingston of Hobbs, N.M.; Susan Mathis of Pampa, Texas; great-nieces, Bobby Joe Dyer of Ponca City and Jamie and Johnnie Parnell of Ponca City; four great-great nephews; three great-great nieces and special friends Tom Thomas, Betty Thomas and Tim Mize.
Donna Ruth McDonald
Donna Ruth McDonald passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2005, in Oklahoma City at the age of 64.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Wewoka with Rev. Don Ramsey officiating.
Interment is set to follow at Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
Donna was born Oct. 15, 1940 at Wewoka to W.A. "Bill" Horne and Ruth (Rutherford) Horne.
She attended Wewoka Schools and married Phillip McDonald in 1956 at Wewoka.
Donna was of the Baptist Faith. She belonged to American business Club and Duncan Christmas Dinners Club.
Donna was very much loved by her family and friends and will be missed very much.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors included husband Phil McDonald of the home; son, Rob McDonald of Marlow; one grandson, Jay Michael Brooks Patton of Edmond; sisters and brothers-in-law, Phyllis Jean Hearn and husband Ronnie and Ellen Azlin and husband Jimmy all of Wewoka; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like remembrance to be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Heart Foundation.
Pallbearers will be Tony Azlin, Jimmy Don Azlin, Shane Azlin, Tommy Azlin, Grant Smith, and Monte Phillips. Honorary bearers will be Jimmy Dale Fleming, Glen Joe Sharpe, Jim Ramsey, Don Bullard, and David Gardner.
Melvin Burnard ‘Mac’ McDonald
Melvin Burnard "Mac" McDonald of Del City, age 91, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005, surrounded by his family at home.
Mac was born in August of 1913, and married Myrtle, his loving wife of 65 years, on Aug. 15, 1939.
He retired from Bond Bakery after 37 years of service, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Mac was a long time member of the Del City Church of Christ where he also served as a volunteer for the Meals on Wheels program for over 25 years.
Mac is survived by his wife Myrtle, daughter and son-in-law Barbara and Melvin Thompson, son and daughter-in-law Ray and Terry McDonald, four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, brothers Bill and Leon McDonald and sister Lillie Willoughby, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family received visitors at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home at 5005 SE 29th, Del City, Tuesday March 1.
Services were scheduled for 10 a.m. today at Del City Church of Christ, 1901 Vickie Dr., Del City, with a graveside service at 2 p.m. at the Little Cemetery in Little.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mac’s memory to the Meals on Wheels program at the Del City Church of Christ.
Beatrice McDowell
Funeral services for longtime Wewoka resident Beatrice "Bea" Lee (McCoy) McDowell are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at Faith Freewill Baptist Church.
Rev. Earl Scroggins will officiate with interment to follow at Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
McDowell, 69, died Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2005 at Holdenville. She was born June 23, 1936 in Holdenville to Walter McCoy and Myrtle (Ross) McCoy.
She graduated from Holdenville High School and Shawnee Beauty College.
McDowell was self-employed as a cosmetologist for a number of years. She was a member of Faith Freewill Baptist church and Thunderbirds Cosmetologist Association.
She married Gene McDowell in Ada.
Her parents; son, Richard Allen McDowell; daughter, Terri Robertson; sister, Janie Marsh and several nieces and nephews preceded her in death.
Surviving is her husband, Gene of the home; son, Bert Gene McDowell of Wewoka; daughter, Debbie Long of Mena, Ark. and 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Ray McElroy
Funeral service for Seminole resident Ray McElroy will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2005 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Chris Stinnett officiating.
Services will conclude at the chapel. He will be laid to rest at Little Cemetery in Seminole County.
Ray McElroy, age 83, passed away, Saturday, Sept. 24, 2005, at Seminole Medical Center. He was born Oct. 5, 1921 in Weleetka, Okla. to Frank Garrison and Flora Marcella (Sims) McElroy.
He married Frances (Cornett) on Jan. 9, 1947 in Yuma, Ariz. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Seminole and was a former mason.
McElroy was a tech sergeant serving in General Patton’s Army at the Battle of the Bulge where he performed heroically, earning several medals including the Bronze Star.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and will be greatly missed by family and friends.
His parents, four sisters, one brother and a grandson precede him in death.
He is survived by his wife Frances McElroy of the home; four daughters, Nancy Riley of Fond Du Lac, Wis., Diana Cook of Iowa City, Iowa, Joanne and husband David Kiker of Placitas, N. M. and Kathy and husband Roy Kommel of Atwater, Ohio and one son Gary and wife Charlotte of Midlothian, Texas.
Six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive him.
Arrangements are being handled by Swearingen Funeral Home, Inc., 100 West Strothers, Seminole, Okla.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made to the Hope Harbor Children’s Home, P.O. Box 1047, Claremore, OK 74018.
Clovis McIninch
Clovis Clyde McIninch, 87, passed away Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005 in Oklahoma City.
He was born Nov. 19, 1917 in Wanette to Wes and Emma (Landsdown) McIninch.
Clovis served his country proudly in the United States Navy for 21 years.
After retiring from the U.S. Navy, he went to work for civil service at Tinker AFB for 20 years before retiring in 1978.
Clovis is survived by his wife, Annie McIninch; one son, Steve McIninch of Dallas, Texas; and one brother, Joe Snodgrass and wife Helen of Shawnee.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Millard McIninch.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 18, in Resthaven Memory Gardens under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home, SW 104th and Walker, Oklahoma City.
Mary Lee McKibbin
Funeral services for Mary Lee McKibbin will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Mission Home Missionary Baptist Church under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
Interment will follow at Resthaven Cemetery and be officiated by Bro. Home and Bro. Jones.
McKibbin, 78, died Sunday June 19 2005.she was born on June 13,1927 in Strawn, Texas to Lee Dulaney and Ola (Mercer) Dulaney.
Her parents, stepfather Chester Keeton, two sisters; Ruby Goins and Lilian Boggs and one brother, T.C. Dulaney, preceded her in death.
Survivors include husband Eugene McKibbin; sons Eugene Skidmore, Ricky McKibbin both of Wewoka; daughter Sheri Oklahoma City; five grandchildren and one sister, Linda Curb, of Post Texas.
Pallbearers include Larry Sawyer, Judge Sawyer, Ronnie Keesee, Butch Houser, Matt Able, Micah Able.
Honorary pallbearers include Jack Erwin, Steve Evans, Austin Evans, Bud Melton, and Men of Mission Home Missionary Baptist Church
Dora McKinney
Funeral services for Seminole native Dora Virginia McKinney are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
McKinney, age 89, of Bedford, Texas, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2005 at Bishop Davies Nursing Home in Bedford.
Dora was born on March 18, 1916 to John and Alice (Morgan) Knight in Seminole. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Seminole.
She is survived by one daughter, Rae Underberger of Bedford, Texas; two sons, Bart J. Walker of Mandeville, La. and Fred Walker of Springfield, Mo. and one stepson, Raymond Walker of Wichita, Kan.
In addition, three brothers, Jake Knight of Seminole, Johnny Lee Knight of Rockwell, Texas and Joe Knight of Buckeye, Ariz.; five grandchildren, Kelly Myers, Shelly Wynn, Virginia Walker, Madison Walker and Melissa Olivia and seven great-grandchildren survive her.
Howard Ray McLaughlin
Funeral services for Seminole resident Howard Ray McLaughlin are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment is set to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Shawnee under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
McLaughlin died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2005, in his home. He was 70.
He was born Jan. 23, 1935, to Robert Daniel McLaughlin and Goldie Mae Reinking in Carnegie.
McLaughlin moved to Seminole nine years ago.
He retired from the Shawnee Milling Co.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
McLaughlin is survived by two sons, Michael and Dan McLaughlin of Shawnee; one daughter, Diana Heffley of Midwest City; one brother, Vernon McLaughlin of Shawnee; one sister, Mildred Edmonds of Longview, Miss.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
