Funeral services for longtime Seminole County resident Mildred Pauline Peercy are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Tecumseh.
Bro. Mike Raines, with A.E. "Doc" Webber assisting, will be officiating.
Services are under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
Peercy died Friday, Nov. 25, 2005 at Sunset Estates Nursing Home. She was born Oct. 2, 1912 to Francis Marion Snider and Margaret Ann Amos Snider in Lawton.
She moved to Sasakwa as a girl where she met and married Carl Peercy on July 17, 1937.
The couple moved to Tecumseh in 1991 from Wewoka and they had been married 67 years before his passing in February.
Peercy was a homemaker and a retired cook from the Wewoka Nursing Home. She was a faithful member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, where her son Mack is the pastor.
Her parents, husband, four sisters and two brothers preceded her in death.
Surviving is one son, Mack of Tecumseh; three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Leuradine Perkins
Funeral services for longtime Wewoka resident Leuradine Perkins are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Christian Church in Wewoka.
Interment will be held at Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Neil Thompson officiating, and under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
Leuradine, 96, passed away on Friday, April 8, 2005 at Wewoka Nursing Center. She was born on Nov. 2, 1908 in Mt. Scott, Okla. to George William and Susanah "Russell" Woods.
She graduated from Wewoka High School and after high school she married R.L. Perkins in February of 1931.
They had one daughter together, Bobbydine Perkins Chesser. Leuradine was a member of the First Christian Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband R.L. "Bob" in June of 1992; her parents George William and Susanah Woods; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ellen and Tom Zieman, Wilma and Jesse VanHorn, Edith and Bill Hardwick and Frankie and O.H. Harris; brothers and sisters-in-law, E.B. and Mattie Perkins, Reid and Jonnie Perkins and two brothers-in-law Ed Patton and Dennie Tate.
Her survivors include one daughter, Bobbydine Chesser of Wewoka; three grandchildren, Robin Chesser, Merry White, both of Wewoka and Leura Marler of Purcell and sisters-in-law, Ruth Patton of Duncan and Dorothy Tate of Ada.
In addition are seven great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephew and other relatives and friends.
Pall bearers for the service will be Nathan Chesser, Bret Marler, Kirk Marler, Simy John White, Robin Michelle Chesser, Susanah Chesser and Angie Lee White.
Evelyn Pester
Funeral services for Evelyn Inez Pester are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church.
Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Inez (Cook) Pester was born July 19, 1920 in Kiefer, Okla., the youngest of five children to George and Mamie Cook. She died Thursday, Nov. 24, in Wellston, Okla.
Inez married Wayne Pester on Nov. 26, 1938. She resided permanently in Seminole except for a short stint during World War II when she joined the war effort as a welder on ships in San Francisco, Calif.
She owned and operated her own beauty salon for over 15 years called The Royale Beauty Shop specializing in perms and strawberry pop for her grandchildren.
Always a faithful church member since childhood, Inez most recently attended Glad Tidings Assembly of God.
Inez was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
Survivors include her husband Wayne Pester; one daughter, Marilyn Pulliam of Edmond, Okla.; one son, Gary Pester of Broken Arrow, Okla.; a sister, Lucille Munday of Odessa, Texas; a brother Lyndle Cook of Borger, Texas; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Evert Petchinsky
Funeral services for former Seminole resident Evert Rudolph Petchinsky are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Resthaven Chapel in Shawnee.
The services will be officiated by Rev. J.C. Farrand and interment is set to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home, Shawnee.
Petchinsky, 82, died Sunday, April 10, 2005 in Tulsa at St. John’s Hospital. He was born July 26, 1922 in Wellston and was the son of Margaret and Earnest Kennard and Gus Petchinsky Jr.
He was a longtime resident of Shawnee and surrounding areas. Petchinsky was a veteran of World War II, having served in Germany and Belgium. He received two Purple Heart Awards while serving his country.
Petchinsky married Phyllis Louise Womack on Dec. 15, 1941 at Shawnee. Their marriage lasted 52 years.
He retired from Bill Farris’ Body Shop in Shawnee.
His wife; parents; two brothers, Herman and Adolph Petchinsky; granddaughter, Julie Ott and great-great granddaughters, Alyssa Petchinsky and Celise Fox all precede him in death.
Surviving him is wife Pearl of six years at their home in Eufaula; son Gary Petchinsky; daughters, Janet Ott of Broken Bow and Judy Petchinsky of Chattanooga, Tenn. And Vickie Moutaw of Houston, Texas and stepdaughters Sandy Oleo, Debbie Robertson, Pam Oleo and Angela Williamson.
In addition eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and a number of step-grandchildren survive him.
Burniece Petray
Funeral services for Seminole resident Burniece Estelene Petray are scheduled 11:30 a.m., Friday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel with Charles Bascue officiating.
Interment is to follow at Little Cemetery in Seminole County under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Burniece Estelene Petray, age 69, passed away, Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2005, at home. She was born Jan. 28, 1936 in Walters, Okla. to Robert Stanley and Burniece Hazel Del (Jarrell) Snead.
She was a retired caregiver for Oklahoma Nursing Home Living. She married Joe Petray on Jan. 22, 1984, he preceded her in death.
Surviving is her mother Burniece Hazel Del Tull of Shawnee; one son, Jerry Hardcastle of Seminole; three daughters and sons-in-law, Gayle and Richard Goforth of Seminole, Carolyn and Glenn Everly of Shawnee and Leona and Hershel Jones of Norman; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Otis and Romona Snead of Tahlequah, Kenneth and Donna Snead of Stillwater and Ronnie Tull of Seminole and three sisters and brothers-in-law, Patricia and Warren Hacker of Mustang, Gwyndolyn and Rudy Garcia of San Antonio, Texas and Rosa Linda Santayo of San Antonio, Texas.
In addition, eleven grandchildren, Barbara, Lillith and Nicholas Goforth, Shawna Baldwin, Tyler and Cheyenne Hilman, Amber Richardson, Eric, Rusty and Heather Jones, and Tracy Camp; one great grandchild, Tanner Richardson and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends survive her.
Her parents; stepfather, Clyde Tull; husband; three brothers, David Snead, Thurman Snead and Danny Snead, and one grandchild, Anna Goforth preceded her in death.
Casket Bearers will be Ronnie Tull, Tyler Hilman, Gary Bloomer, Charlie Woodruff, Brandon Tull, and Shelvin Tull,
Honorary Bearers will be Richard Goforth, Jerry Rider, Eric and Rusty Jones.
Luella Daughtery
Luella (Lou) Daugherty was called to heaven to join her Jesus and beloved husband C.R. on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2005 while at the Pauls Valley Health Care Facility, a nursing home in Pauls Valley.
In the final six months of her life she had suffered with the repair of a broken hip and failing memory due to dementia. She never lost her spirit or her love.
She was always surrounded by her family and friends that dearly loved her and which she loved with all of her big heart.
Luella joined a host of family when she reached those pearly gates, including her parents: Earl and Myrtle Moore Chandler; her husband of 52 years; twobrothers: J.T. and Kenneth Chandler; a nephew: Don Tate and niece: Karen Bowles; a brother-in-law: Dave Tate and sister-in-law: Louise Chandler.
Survivors include her two sons, Robert Daugherty and his wife Dessie of Pauls Valley and Phil Daugherty and his wife Linda of Okmulgee; three grandchildren, Shelby Daugherty Cunningham and her husband James, and Jason Daugherty, all of Pauls Valley and Dr. Jamie Daugherty, M.D. of Jones.
She has six great-grandchildren that she adored: Christian, Challan and J.E. Bailey, Austin Cunningham, Jade and Nashton Daugherty, all of Pauls Valley; four brothers, James Chandler of Pauls Valley; Edward Chandler and his wife Minnie and Paul Chandler and his wife Betty, all of County Line, Okla. and Earl D. Chandler of Duncan; three sisters, Naomi Tate, Neva Bowles and her husband Billy all of Pauls Valley, and Eva Griffin and husband Ralph of Moore.
She was blessed with numerous more nieces and nephews.
She was born in Roland, Okla. on May 4, 1922 as the second of 10 children to Earl and Myrtle Chandler.
Lou was raised in the oil field around Seminole. She and her older brother James graduated together from Mt. View High School in 1941.
They also each married the love of their lives a year later in a double ceremony on June 9, 1942 in Seminole, where she became the beloved wife of Clarence Robert Daugherty.
She traveled with C.R. while he was in the service and was overjoyed when they started a family. She believed this was the job she was chosen to do.
She and her family moved to Pauls Valley in 1961 from Velma, Okla. to take over Daugherty Insurance.
Luella was a homemaker in the truest sense. She loved cooking and sewing for her friends and family. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
She and Clarence were always very involved with all the grand kid’s activities. She was a faithful member of the Assembly of God Church in Pauls Valley.
Her great claim to fame was her beautiful ceramics and talent as a master artist in silk floral arrangements. Her collection of red birds is in the hundreds and was admired by all who witnessed it.
Services were held at Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2005 at 2:00 p.m.
In true family fashion, her brother-in-law Reverend Billy Bowles and her brother Reverend Earl D. Chandler officiated.
Beautiful organ music was provided by her nephew Gary Tate, and inspired vocals were provided by Alice McGough.
Pallbearers were nephews Rick Tate, Joe Chandler, Mike Chandler, Rick Wells, Dean Painer and Gary Tate.
Interment was at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
She will always be missed and loved dearly.
John Phelps
Funeral services for former Konawa resident John Carter Phelps are set for 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Church of Christ in Konawa with Richard Winters officiating.
Burial is set to follow at Vamoosa Cemetery under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home.
Phelps, 76, died Saturday, Sept. 3, 2005 at Intergis Health Baptist Medical Center. He was born June 20, 1929 in Grey to John and Elsie (Littleton) Phelps.
He married Amelia Lowry on May 28, 1950 in Konawa and was an agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation until retiring in 1981.
Phelps served in the United States Army Infantry of the 45th Division during the Korean War. He was member of the Church of Christ in Konawa and a former member of the Masonic and Elks lodges.
His parents precede him in death.
Surviving are his wife of the Eufaula home; four daughters, Sherry McDermott and Tamra McLoud, both of Las Cruces, N.M. and Veronica Vick and Monica Lande, both of Tampa, Fla.; one brother, Dale Phelps of Konawa and five grandchildren.
