Funeral services for Seminole native Laural (Rider) Raymond are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday in the Chapel of Walker Funeral Service in Shawnee.
Rev. Steve Cline is to officiate and interment is to follow services at Little Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.
Raymond, 50, passed away Monday, Dec. 5, 2005 at her home after battling cancer. She was born Sept. 29, 1955 in Seminole to Haskell "Jack" and Laura Mae (Gazaway) Rider.
Laural graduated from Varnum High School and received her associate’s degree in nursing from Seminole State College.
She was a longtime employee of the Edmond Medical Center Emergency Department.
Laural married Don Raymond on July 31, 1993 in Eureka Springs, Ark.
Her parents and son, Clayton Kean preceded her in death.
Surviving is her husband, Don of the home and her children and their spouses, Tracey and James White of Tecumseh, Clinton and Katrina Kean of Seminole, Melissa Crowson (daughter-in-law) of Shawnee, Corey and Mimi Raymond of Oklahoma City and Jennifer and Joey DeRoin of Midwest City.
In addition, she has two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Kelly Rider of Seminole and Marvin and Phyllis Stoops of Manford; sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Ray Harris of Seminole; 11 grandchildren, Raceton, Julie, Wyatt, Brittany, Maddison, Raeden, Alex, Earon, Kimberly, Issabella and Victoria and several nieces and nephews including, Jamie Myers and Travis Rider surviving her.
Deanna Faye Redding
Deanna Faye Redding, a Wewoka resident, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2005, at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City.
Funeral Services are set for 10 a.m. Friday at Stout-Phillips Chapel in Wewoka. Interment will be held at Oakwood Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home in Wewoka.
Mrs. Redding was born on May 31, 1944, in Seminole to Orby Jay and Pauline (Walker) Arthur. She grew up in the Seminole County area and also graduated from Seminole High School.
She married Paul Redding on Nov. 12, 1961, in Seminole.
She worked for JCPenney as a catalog supervisor in Seminole until it closed in 1982. She has worked the last 13 years at Wal-Mart in Holdenville.
She was a member of Wewoka Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness.
Deanna enjoyed traveling, camping and spending time with her family and friends. She will always be remembered by her joyous smile, outgoing personality, and overall love of life.
Deanna is preceded in death by her parents, Orby and Pauline Arthur, her father-in-law Dean Redding, sister-in-law Phyliss Redding Bryant, and Peggy Redding Haskins.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Paul of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Shelli and David Thompson of Stigler, and Paula and Jesse Sawyer of Wewoka; her mother-in-law, Norma Redding of Wewoka; grandchildren, Chris and finance’ Mandi Calvert of Durant, Keith Sawyer and Tosha Phillips of Wewoka, Jessica and Courtnei Sawyer of Wewoka, Coty and Jarrod Hurst of Stillwater, Candice and Matt Powell of Stigler, Colton and Sabrina Chesney of Stigler, Jake Thompson of Stigler and Cameron Chesney of Stillwater.
She is also survived by six great-grandchildren, Makenna, Bailey, Mattison, Scout, Gunter, Leif; a dear friend Sherry Wadlow of Wewoka; three brothers, David and Mala Arthur of Borger, Texas, Paul Wayne and JoAnn Arthur of Longview, Texas, and Phillip "Mack" Arthur of Texas; four sisters, Denise and David Sissom of Fritch, Texas, Doris and Richard Anderson of Olympia, Wash., Frankie and Hayden Hamil of Tulsa, and Phillip Voquts of Valley, Mo.
Pallbearers include Chris Sawyer, Keith Sawyer, Colton Chesney, Matt Powell, Jarrod Hurst and Marion Bert.
Honorary Pallbearers include Cameron Chesney.
Betty Jean Reed
Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday for longtime Seminole resident Betty Jean (Whited) Reed at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Reed, 78, died Friday, Jan. 14, 2005 at Seminole Medical Center. She was born in Shawnee Jan. 10, 1927 to Vernon and Lela May (Murray) Whited Hunter.
She married Rudolph Oliver Reed on March 10, 1942 in Seminole and he preceded her in death on June 9, 2000.
Reed was a homemaker, a member of the Tri-City Christian Church and was an Eastern Star.
Surviving her are two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Betty Reed of Seminole and Richard "Dickie" and Trecia Reed of Glenwood Springs, Colo.; one daughter, Sharon Gates of Phoenix, Ariz. and one son-in-law Jon Bateman of Shawnee.
In addition are her grandchildren, Kerry and Angela Reed and Heath Reed, all of Seminole, Amie and Rony Fisher of California, Ashley and Chris Krueger of Glenwood Springs, Colo., Jason Bateman of Shawnee; and six great-grandchildren, Jerrod Kash Reed, Keeley Nicole Reed and Karsyn Kay Reed, all of Seminole, Caryse Bateman of Shawnee; Rory Darnell Fisher of California and Jackson Reed Krueger of Glenwood Springs, Colo.
Ozie William Reed
Funeral service for longtime Seminole resident Ozie William Reed are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel. Cecil Spoonmoore is set to officiate.
Interment is set to follow at Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Reed died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2005, at Seminole Estates Nursing Home. He was 89.
Born May 25, 1915, to Albert Theodore Reed and Rosie Nell (Coker) in Yale County, Ark., Reed moved to Seminole 73 years ago.
He married Virginia "Clarice" Reed Feb. 3, 1939, in Holdenville. She preceded him in death on June 8, 1992.
Reed worked as a mechanic and retired in 1978.
He served as a deacon at Ideal Street Baptist Church, where he was also a member.
Reed participated in outdoor activities such as camping, hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; two sisters; his wife Clarice Reed; his son, Ted Reed; and grandson, Mitchell Mann on April 13, 2002.
Reed is survived by his son, Danny Reed of Luther; two daughters, Ann Eversole of Maud and Cindy Goodnight of Seminole; 10 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Casket bearers are Kyle Reed, Brett Horn, Johnny Eversole II, Johnny Eversole I, David Goodnight, Brandon Goodnight and Don Goodnight.
Honorary bearers are Leroy Goodnight, Raymond Spoonmore, Jirl McGinnis, Terry McGinnis, Kenneth Lail, Sandy Sanders and Brandon Goodnight.
Vicky Ann Reed
Funeral services for former Wewoka resident Vicky Ann Reed are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Hitchitee United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Svitak and Rev. Mike Harjo to officiate.
Wake services are scheduled for 7 p.m. today at Hitchitee United Methodist Church.
Interment will follow services at Hitchitee United Methodist Church Cemetery under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
Reed, 47, of Midwest City, died Tuesday, June 14, 2005 in Oklahoma City. She was born Jan. 18, 1958 in San Antonio, Texas to Billy J. Lee and June Larney Lee.
She graduated from Tulsa Schools and worked at University Hospital in the Patient’s account department.
Reed was a member of Hitchitee United Methodist Church and was on the Seminole Nation Princess Committee.
She married Matthew Reed on Nov. 1, 1980 in Shawnee; he preceded her in death on Nov. 26, 1993. Her father also preceded her in death.
Survivors include her mother, June Larney Lee of Wewoka; daughters Leigh Ann Reed of the home and Nikki Reed of Del City; sister Patty Kishketon of Shawnee and grandfather Ryder Larney of Seminole.
Pallbearers will be Rick Deer, Joe Deer, William Larney, Russell Larney, Brian Larney and Irby Larney.
Honorary bearers will be Rowe Kishketon, John Kemble, Greg Bucher and Steve Brandt.
Georgia Reiser
Funeral services for former Seminole resident Georgia Reiser are set for Thursday, June 23, at 10 a.m. at the Maysville Cemetery, under the direction of the Winans Funeral Home.
Reiser died Monday, June 20, at the McCaskill Nursing Home in Maysville, at the age of 73.
She was born April 7, 1932, in Purcell, to Oscar and Audrey Steele Selman.
Reiser had been a resident of McCaskill Nursing Home for a number of years. She had also lived in Antioch, Pauls Valley, and Seminole.
She worked for many years in nursing homes, caring for the elderly, and also worked at Pauls Valley State School.
She was the widow of Edwin L. Reiser.
Reiser was a member of the Baptist church.
She is survived by two sons, Ira Gene Pharaoh, of Seminole, and Billy Pharaoh; one brother, Gene Selman of Lindsay; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren, as well as many other relatives.
Ann M. Reiss
Funeral services for former Seminole resident Ann M. Reiss are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at Swearingen Funeral Home with Rev. Carl Whitfield to officiate.
Interment is to follow services at Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Reiss, 67, died Thursday, May 19, 2005 in McAlester Regional Hospital. She was born Jan. 24, 1938 in Wanette to Cornealius and Ellen (Smith) Brown.
She married Delbert G. Reiss on Dec. 15, 1961 in Bristow and was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. The couple has lived in Krebs for the past 21 years.
Surviving is her husband of Krebs; two sons, William E. Reiss of Krebs and Fred Reiss of Norman; one daughter Carla Hinds of Lindsay, Texas; three brothers, Benny Brown of Seminole, Jim Brown of Albuquerque, N.M. and Gene Brown of Attica, Kan.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers for the services will be Gary Mize, Wade Lee Mize, Erick Petterson, Chuck Hinds, Chucky Hinds and Dennis Pruitt.
Frank Rhodd Jr.
A funeral mass is scheduled for longtime Konawa area resident Frank Edward "F.E." Rhodd, Jr. for 10 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Matthew Brown, O.S.B., officiating.
A Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel. Interment is to follow mass at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Rhodd, 41, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2005 at Carl Albert Indian Hospital in Ada. He was born in Seminole on Jan. 29, 1963 to Frank E. Rhodd, Sr. and Marlene (Eagle) Rhodd. He attended grade school at St. Louis Elementary School and graduated from Konawa High School.
He married Lisa Young on Oct. 21, 1992 in Wewoka and worked in the oilfields as a driller and unit operator. Rhodd was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Citizens Potawatomi Nation.
His mother and one brother preceded him in death.
His father of Konawa; his wife of the home; daughter, Krishta Rhodd of the home; and three sisters, Viola Jones, Dawn Honsinger and Rhonda Rhodd, all of Konawa, survives him.
