Funeral services for Maud resident Lena Iona Roe were scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, at the First Baptist Church in Konawa, under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.
Rev. Charley Henthorn was set to officiate.
Roe’s burial was set to follow the services, at Vista Cemetery outside of Konawa.
She died Monday, May 2, 2005, at the Sunset Estates Nursing Home in Maud, at the age of 87.
Roe was born Aug. 28, 1917, in Ada, to John Plasscheart and Ruby (Walker) Plasscheart.
She married Hugh Don Roe on Nov. 24, 1945, in Shawnee. He preceded her in death on Oct. 10, 1967. Her parents also preceded her in death.
Roe was a homemaker, and a member of the First Baptist Church in Konawa.
She was a long-time Asher resident before moving to Maud.
She is survived by a son, David Roe, Konawa; a sister, Edith Spender, Maud; two grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Those listed as pallbearers include Phillip Mullins, Marvin Patterson, Jerry Coonfield, Billy Sellars, Bob Lester and Ronnie Tyler.
Terrell Rogers
Funeral services for former Seminole County resident Terrell Chester Rogers are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday at First Southern Baptist Church of Del City.
Interment is to follow services at Sunny Lane Cemetery under the direction of Bill Eisenhower Funeral Homes, Inc.
Rogers, 80, of Oklahoma City died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004. He was born Feb. 7, 1924 in Madill to Luke and Juanita (Hearn) Rogers.
He married Joyce Cheatwood on Aug. 23, 1946 and they moved to the Oklahoma City area in 1952.
Rogers earned his bachelor’s degree in Dairy Manufacturing at Oklahoma State University. He served in the United States Army Air Corp as a staff sergeant during World War II.
He was a prisoner of war for one and a half years in Germany after being shot down in a B-17 while serving as a tail gunner. Rogers earned the Purple Heart, two Air Medals and the Oklahoma Medal of Valor.
Rogers worked as Director of Dairy Sanitation for the State of Oklahoma from 1974-1986. He was a member of First Southern Baptist Church of Del City, American Legion Post #93, DAV and A-Ex-POW.
He enjoyed traveling, reading, sports and spending time with his grandchildren.
His parents and brothers, Edward and Luke Jr., preceded him in death.
Surviving him is his wife of the home; three sons, Richard William Rogers of Oklahoma City, Dr. Robert Edward Rogers of Okemah and Rev. Terrell Randolf Rogers of Houston, Texas; one daughter, Lynda McNab of Houston, Texas; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Sarah Nell White of Durant, Sydney Nicholson of Amarillo, Texas and Keturah Brown of Stroud.
Timothy Wayne Rogers
Funeral services for Maud resident Timothy Wayne Rogers are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Art Coffey to officiate.
Interment is to follow service at Cummings Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Rogers, 46, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2005 at home. He was born Oct. 3, 1958 in Lebanon, Mo. to Ralph George Rogers and Mary Jane Camden.
He married Tameria "Tammy" Diane Rogers on Feb. 4, 1984 in Norman and was a mechanic for over 20 years before becoming disabled due to Lupus.
He left this world to join his father, Ralph C. Rogers; brother, Ralph A. Rogers, and his Heavenly Father, free of pain, which he suffered for many years due to Lupus.
Rogers was a wonderful father, husband, and best friend, with the biggest heart and most beautiful blue eyes. We will always love him and wait to join him someday.
He is survived by his wife Tammy of the home; three daughters, Melissa Rogers of the home, Madelyne, and Melynda Rogers, both of Seminole; two sons, Shane Rogers of Seminole and Steven Rogers of Colorado Springs, Colo. and two grandchildren, Amy Rogers and Timothy Rogers, both of Colorado Springs.
In addition, his mother, Mary Rogers of Buffalo, Mo.; two sisters, Nancy Dyer of Winchester Gap, Mo. and Dixie Deckerd of Longlane, Mo.; three brothers, Ricky, Danny and Tommy Rogers, all of Buffalo, Mo.; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews with various other relatives and friends, survive him.
Pallbearers for the service will be Steven Rogers, Shane Rogers, Ralph A. Rogers Jr., Johnny Rogers, Ricky Rogers and Danny Rogers.
Honorary bearers are to be Allen Morris and Billy Grizzle.
William Rose Jr.
Funeral services for former Seminole resident William B. "Bill" Rose Jr. are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Baptist Church in Marion, Ohio with Rev. Steven Boothe officiating.
Interment is to follow services at Grand Prairie Cemetery under the direction of Boyd Funeral Home of Marion.
Rose, 69, of Marion, Ohio, died Friday April 22, 2005 at Marion General Hospital. He was born Dec. 28, 1935 in Seminole to William B. Rose and Anna Vienna (Edwards) Rose.
He married Patty Joan Southern Nov. 14, 1951 in Seminole and they are members of Trinity Baptist Church.
Rose enjoyed fly fishing, music, playing his guitar and spending time with his family. He owned and operated Bill’s Bit service for 40 years.
Two brothers, Bud Rose and Carl Rose preceded him in death.
Surviving are son Darrell Rose of Marion; daughter Linda Robinson of Marion; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four sisters, Norma Lee of Pauls Valley, Emagene Galyan of Norman, Billie Dove Goldesberry of Tulsa and Juanita "Skeet" Lively of Broken Arrow.
Phyllis M. Rose
Funeral services for former Seminole County resident Phyllis M. Rose are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday at Little Cemetery.
Rev. Dan McLemore will officiate and burial will be under the direction of Coffey-Murray Funeral Home in Durant.
A family hour is set for 6-7 p.m. tonight at the Durant funeral home.
Rose, a Caddo resident, died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2005, at Oakridge Manor Nursing Home.
She was born Aug. 31,1927, in Vinita to Cecil Wayne and Ruby D. (Harvey) Asbury.
She was a homemaker and an avid gardener and quilt maker.
She married Al Rose on Aug. 12, 1967, in Bonham, Texas. He survives her, of the home.
Other survivors include two sons, Allen Lawson, Shawnee, and Monty Lawson, Hinton; one daughter, Janice Lawson Brinsfield, Spring, Texas; one stepson, Mike Rose, Redoak, Texas; one brother, Gene Asbury, Houston, Texas; three sisters, Billie Patterson, Casper, Wyo., Dorothy King, Bixby, and Mary Allen, Little Rock, Ark; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a stepdaughter, Cathy Rose.
Earl Rounsivill
Services for Seminole resident Earl Rounsivill are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Friday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating. Interment will follow at Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Rounsivill died Monday, July 18, 2005, at Pioneer Nursing Home. He was 79.
He was a Seminole resident since 1991 when he moved here from Fresno, Calif., after living there for 43 years.
He was born to Noah D. Rounsivill and Eva (Wheeler) Rounsivill in Oilton on May 23, 1926.
On Oct. 12, 1991, he married Dolphie M. Rounsivill in Seminole. She preceded him in death on Jan. 7, 2004.
Rounsivill was a veteran of the US Navy. He served four years as a seaman 1st class.
He worked as a salesman for U.S. Steel for 10 years. He also worked in the trucking business for Pacific Motor Trucking in California.
Rounsivill was a member of the Hilltop Assembly of God in Earlsboro.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Dolphie Rounsivill, on Jan. 7 2004.
Rounsivill is survived by one daughter, Jacqueline Wright of Fresno, Calif., two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Anna Mae Roy
Funeral services for Wewoka resident Anna Mae Roy are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at High Springs Baptist church with Rev. Ray Breeden officiating.
Interment is to follow services at High Springs Cemetery in Konawa under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
Wake services are scheduled at 6 p.m. Saturday at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel.
Roy, 65, died Thursday, March 10, 2005 in the Midwest City Hospital. She was born May 2, 1939 in Konawa to Kelly Charty and Bonnie (Palmer) Charty.
She married Antoine Roy on March 4, 1961 in Ponca City. She worked for the American National Can Company as an equipment operator.
Her parents and husband Antoine preceded her in death.
Surviving her are daughters Debra Horne of Seminole, Rosa Millican of Inola and Allison Roy of Ada; sons Antoine Roy Jr. of Moore, Larry Roy of Oklahoma City, Gary Roy of Wewoka and Morris Roy of Oklahoma City; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Nathan Rumsey
A graveside service has been scheduled for longtime Seminole resident Nathan Rumsey for 1 p.m. Saturday at the Rumsey Family Cemetery in Stidham.
Rev. Tim Turner will be officiating with the services being under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Nathan passed away Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2005 at Seminole Medical Center at the age of 88.
He was born April 6, 1917 in Stidham to Napolean Boney Rumsey and Sammie (Pittman) Rumsey.
Nathan married Doris Loriene Stevens on Aug. 22, 1947 in Gainesville, Texas.
Rumsey served in the United States Army during World War II as a staff sergeant. He retired in 1960 from Modern Oils as a truck driver.
His parents preceded him in death.
Surviving is his wife of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Mitch and Mary Rumsey of Yukon; grandson, Matthew Rumsey of Yukon and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Ellen Faye Rush
Graveside services for former Seminole resident Ellen Faye Asher Rush are scheduled for Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Maramec Cemetery with Kevin Williams, officiating.
Services are under the direction of the Davis Funeral Home.
Rush, a longtime Cushing resident, died Friday, July 1, 2005 at her home at the age of 79 years.
She was born on August 16, 1925 in Drumright to Riley Zeek and Nora Asher Zeek, Following the death of her mother, her grandparents, Walter and Lucinda Hesson raised her.
Rush was a member of the First Assembly of God Church and she enjoyed knitting and art.
Survivors include her children, Theresa Ann Hardick of Edmond, Mary Carruth of Oklahoma City, Linda Campbell of Edmond and Rita Asher Rush Price of Glenpool; her special friend and former husband Frank Rush of Cushing and 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
