Graveside services for Wewoka resident Mary E. Smith were held at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Memorial Park cemetery with Rev. Buford Henshaw officiating.
Arrangements were under the direction of Henniger-Allen Funeral Home.
Smith, 86, died Thursday, Dec. 1, 2005 at Holdenville General Hospital following a long illness. She was born Aug. 18, 1919 in Ft. Smith, Ark. To Aaron and Mary (Lewis) Cox.
At an early age she moved with her parents to Hartshorne and then later to McAlester.
She married John David Smith on June 6, 1942 in McAlester and the couple made their home in Enid in 1959.
Smith was employed by the Enid State School for 15 years and the couple moved to Oklahoma City in February 1976.
She was a member of the Full Gospel Tabernacle Church in Oklahoma City and moved to Wewoka where her daughter took care of her.
While in Wewoka she attended Gleaners Holiness Church.
Her parents, her husband, one grandson, two brothers, two sisters and her stepfather preceded her in death.
Surviving are three sons, Charles Smith of Moore, Allen Smith of Wewoka and Jimmy Smith of Little; three daughters, Rita Brooks and Jerry Johnston, both of Little and Jessie Stevens of Wewoka; 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Melvin Buford Smith
Funeral services for Konawa resident Melvin Buford Smith are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at Abundant Life Tabernacle Church in Byng with Rev. George Carson officiating.
Interment is set for Vamoosa Cemetery under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home in Konawa.
Smith died Friday, July 22, 2005, at Arbuckle Memorial Hospital in Sulphur. He was 80.
Smith was born June 19, 1925 near Springer to Rube L. Smith and Mary (Brown) Smith.
He married Evangeline Smith who preceded him in death on Oct. 15, 1995.
Smith worked for OG&E for 33 years and had worked at OG&E’s Seminole plant in Konawa for a number of years.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Smith attended the Abundant Life Tabernacle Church in Byng.
Smith was a longtime Konawa resident and had moved to live in Sulphur Nursing home six months ago.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
Smith is survived by two sons, Mike G. Hunter of Owasso, and Rick Hunter of Prague; three daughters, Angela Younger of Meeker, Mary Huckleberry of Konawa, and Michelle Porter of Anadarko; one brother, Keith Smith of Springer; two sisters, Lena Ruth Binderim of Sulphur, and Jean Carroll Eppler of Ft. Smith, Ark.; 14 grand children and several great-grandchildren.
Tilman Smith
Funeral services for longtime Seminole resident Tilman L. Smith are scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel.
Rev. Harold Turner to officiate the service.
Interment will follow service at Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Smith, 79, died Saturday, Aug. 6, 2005 at Seminole Estates Nursing Home. He was born Dec. 27, 1925 in Missouri to James A. Smith and Eva (Snoden) Smith.
He married Martha Robinson on Oct. 30, 1948 in Pocahantas, Ky.
Smith worked in highway construction and was a longtime member of the Temple of Praise Church in Seminole.
He moved to the area 22 years ago from the Iowa and Missouri areas.
Surviving him is his wife of the home; son Darrell Wayne Smith of Oskaloosa, Iowa; three daughters, Carol Sebastian, Cheri Radford and Connie Buswell, all of Seminole; two sisters, Jewel Gifford and Carrie Burnett of North Carolina; 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Willie E. Smith-Blackwood
Funeral services for lifelong Konawa resident Willie E. Smith-Blackwood were set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Chapel in Konawa.
Pam Shirk was set to officiate, and burial was to follow at Vamoosa Cemetery.
Smith-Blackwood died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2005, at Jan Francis Nursing Home in Ada, at the age of 91.
She was born Sept. 16, 1913, in Cheyenne, to William Orphus Smith and Winnie Mae (Morse) Smith.
On Nov. 22, 1927, she married Lee L. Blackwood in Konawa. They were married 69 years, and he preceded her in death.
Smith-Blackwood was a homemaker, and a member of the Missionary Baptist Church since 1933. Her hobbies included cooking, quilting, and gardening.
She was given the nickname "Tennia Evalynia" at birth, and was later called "Little Bil," evolving later into Willie.
Smith-Blackwood was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Virgil Blackwood, her daughter Tenzie Lois Huff, and two grandsons.
She is survived by one son, Joe Andy Blackwood, Konawa; one daughter, Evalyn Maxwell, Konawa; one sister, Goldie Brown, Merced, Calif.; 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
John Sneed
A memorial service for lifelong Seminole resident is scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel and the cremation is under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Sneed, 67, died Saturday, May 14, 2005 in Seminole. He was born Oct. 12, 1937 in Fairfield, Texas to Henry Lee Sneed and Johnnie (Burton) Sneed.
He was a United States Navy veteran who served during the Korean War. Sneed retired as a construction worker.
His parents, two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
Surviving is his two sons John Sneed and Rodney Sneed, both of Denver, Co. and one sister Willie Mae Saunders of Seminole.
Loyd Sneed
Memorial services for lifelong Seminole resident Loyd Everett Sneed are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel.
Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Sneed, 66, died Sunday, Dec. 18, 2005 at his residence. He was born Aug. 25, 1939 in Seminole to Alton Spencer Sneed and Effie Florence (Vulgamore) Sneed.
He was self-employed as an appliance repairman.
His parents preceded him in death.
Surviving is one son, Will Sneed of Oklahoma City; three brothers, Eugene Sneed of California, Cecil Sneed of Seminole and Floyd Sneed of Oklahoma City and one sister, Pat Calvert of Wewoka.
Charla Snyder
Memorial services for former Seminole resident Charla Sue Snyder are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel.
The services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Snyder, 63, died Wednesday, April 13, 2005 at Integris Southwest Medical Center in Oklahoma City. She was born Feb. 4, 1942 in Seminole to Cecil John Long and Marjorie Marie (Cromlie) Long.
In the early 1960’s and early 1970’s she lived in California and Virginia. She later moved permanently to Oklahoma City where she worked at Metrotech for 16 years as a bus driver, and then as a courier.
Snyder also worked as a copy clerk until she was forced to take disability in August 2000.
Herr parents preceded her in death.
Surviving are two sons, Lewis Clyde Adams and John Adams and three brothers, Larry Long and Ben Sanders of Oklahoma City and Jerry Long of Nevada.

Raymond Snyder
Funeral services for Wewoka resident Raymond Filmore Snyder are scheduled for 2 P.m. Friday at Gleaners Holiness Church in Wewoka with Rev. Larry Chesser to officiate.
Interment is to follow at Little Cemetery under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
Snyder, 94, died Wednesday, May 18, 2005 at Seminole Hospital. He was born Oct. 6, 1910 in Prague to John and Ada Snyder.
He married Lillie Qualls on April 28, 1933 in Shawnee. Snyder worked in the lumber mill and did farm work. He was a member of Gleaners Holiness Church and the couple was instrumental in building and starting many new churches in California.
His parents and his wife Lillie, on April 28, 2004, preceded him in death.
Surviving is his niece Betty Lukens of Wewoka.
Patricia L. Spears
Graveside services for Seminole resident Patricia L. Spears are scheduled for 1p.m. Monday at Little Cemetery.
Rev. Roy Robertson will officiate and the arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Spears, 42, died Thursday, Sept. 8, 2005 at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Oklahoma City. She was born Sept. 14, 1962 in Clinton to Russell L. Gibson Sr. and Bessie L. (Lang).
She was a graduate of Quinton High School and had made her home in Seminole for the past 19 years.
Spears worked as a nurse’s aide for 16 years at the Pioneer Nursing Home and Seminole Estates.
Her Grandfathers Floyd Lane and Troy Gibson preceded her in death.
Surviving are her husband Dennis Overbey; one daughter Misty Spears; one brother Russell L. Gibson, Jr., all of Seminole; two sisters Judy Lovelace of McCurtain and Sue Gregory of Benton, Mo.
