Funeral service for longtime Maud resident Earl J. "E.J." Wilkerson is scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday at Trinity Baptist Church in Maud with Rev. Wayne Taylor officiating.
Interment is set to follow at Cummings Cemetery in Maud under the direction of Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home in Maud.
E.J. died Thursday, March 31, 2005 in Granbury, Texas at the age of 72.
He was born April 29, 1932, in Calumet to Harry John Wilkerson and Margaret E. (Bayless) Wilkerson.
On Dec. 24, 1952, E.J. married Wilma M. (Rogers) Wilkerson in El Reno.
E.J. lived in Maud for 36 years moving there from Norman. Then, most recently he had moved to Granbury, Texas with his wife to be near their daughter.
He served in the Air Force from 1951-52 after graduating from Oakwood High School in 1950.
E.J. retired from Tinker Air Force Base in 1974. Following retirement, he worked for Bodkin Furniture, Maud Schools and Gordon Cooper Vo-Tech.
He was a charter member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Maud since 1967 and current member of the Southside Baptist Church in Granbury, Texas.
E.J. had served on the Maud Board of Education and on the Maud Housing Authority Board of Commissioners.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Donna Freeman who died Nov. 11, 1985; and three brothers, Harold Wilkerson in 1991, Glen Wilkerson in 1946 and Roland "Bub" Wilkerson in 1999.
E.J. is survived by his wife, Wilma Wilkerson of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Dee Acree of Granbury, Texas; son-in-law, Darrell Freeman of Shawnee; four grandchildren, Stephanie and Shannon Acree, David and Dana Freeman; one great-grandchild, Xavier J. Freeman; and one sister, Betty Snodgrass of El Reno; and one sister, Estel Stout, Anderson, Mo.
Laura Alleyne Williams
Graveside services for former Wewoka resident Laura Alleyne Williams were scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Tate Mountain Cemetery, under the directions of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home in Wewoka.
Williams died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2005. She was 90.
Williams and her family moved from Wewoka in 1928 to Shawnee where she graduated in 1931 at the age of 15. She graduated from Oklahoma Baptist university in 1938, where she was on the swimming and tennis teams and held class offices. After graduating Williams worked as a schoolteacher in Jet, Nash, and Berlin Schools in Oklahoma.
She married Lloyd G. Williams in Yuma, Ariz., on Aug. 9, 1942, where he was in the U.S. Army Air Corp. In 1969 they moved back to Wewoka and owned the Sears Store Franchise for seven years. They sold the store to Tommy and Gale Kiker and moved back to California to retire.
Laura enjoyed time on the computer and playing with her two dogs.
Her husband, Lloyd, preceded her in death in February 1994. They were married for fifty-one years.
Lela Williams
Funeral services for lifelong Maud resident Lela Williams are scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Herschel Davis to officiate.
Interment is to follow services at the Williams Family Cemetery near Maud under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Williams, 78, died Thursday, Nov. 3, 2005 at Unity North in Shawnee. She was born June 15, 1927 in Maud to Joney and Ellen (Chupeogee) Williams.
She was a homemaker and a member of Achena Presbyterian Church in Maud.
Her parents, sister Rose Simmer in 2003 and several other brothers and sisters preceded her in death.
Surviving is her son Frank Williams of Maud; five daughters, Velma Welch of Diamond Bar, Calif., Linda Davis of Maud, Judy Shaw of Tecumseh, Marcella Williams of Shawnee and Mary Williams of Maud; one brother, Charlie Williams of Maud; one sister, Henryetta Dick of Maud; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Lester Williams Jr.
Funeral services for former Wewoka resident Lester Williams Jr. are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday at Macedonia Baptist Church in Wewoka.
Interment is to follow services at Westwood Cemetery under the direction of Myers Mortuary.
Williams, 61, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004 in Whitney, Texas, his place of residence. He was born Dec. 7, 1943 in Whitney, Texas to Lester Lee and Mamie (Blanton) Williams.
The family moved to Oklahoma and he attended Douglass Grade School. He joined the National Guard in Wewoka and from there he joined the United States Army at Ft. Hood, Texas.
While in the Army he attained his GED before being honorably discharged from service in 1966. He was a cross-country truck driver for 20 years.
Williams joined St. Joseph Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Dangerfield, while in Wewoka.
His parents and three brothers: Andral, Daniel and Ronald preceded him in death.
Surviving him is his wife, Paulette Williams of Wewoka; sons, Larry Dee Edwards, Bryan Williams and Erik Williams, all of Wewoka, and Marvin Nichols of Oklahoma City; three daughters, Paula Edwards and Leslie Williams of Wewoka and Latrisha Williams of Oklahoma City; 21 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
In addition are two brothers, Donald Williams and Charles Southern of Oklahoma City; and four sisters, Shirley Manuel, Janetta Williams, Mildred Heatrice and Denise Merritt of Oklahoma City.
Lilac C. Williams
Graveside services will be held for longtime Seminole resident Lilac C. Williams at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole.
Mrs. Williams died Sunday, May 29, 2005 at the age of 99. She was born July 26, 1905 in Oklahoma Territory.
She was preceded in death by her husband Daniel V. Williams and her son, Bob Harrell.
For 30 years, Lilac was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Seminole where she served in several capacities through the years.
In addition to her church activities she was an active member of the local Flower Club and served as election supervisor during local and national elections. She also served as PTA president in the Bowlegs School district.
Her life exemplified loving and serving the Lord and being a true servant in ministering to her family and friends. She will be greatly missed; however, we are rest assured that she is in the presence of her Lord and Savior today.
Mrs. Williams is survived by one son, Virgil Williams of Plainwell, Mich.; six daughters, Eva Erdman of Fort Collins, Colo., Wanda Walker of Burleson, Texas, Shamarose Kelsey of Irving, Texas, Violet McCaslin of Allen, Texas, Margaret Heflin of Grand Prairie, Texas and Brenda McCaslin of Grand Prairie, Texas.
In addition, she is survived by grandchildren, Sharon and Mike Harrell; Mike, Paula and Bill Foster; Mark Williams, Kim Williams Avery, Scott Williams; Marcia Kelsey Shivers; Tamra McCaslin Bryan, Amy McCaslin Cooper; Michele Heflin Grella, Melissa Heflin Hilton; Leah McCaslin McFarlin, Lisa McCaslin Drew, Lana McCaslin Sellers; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Lloyd Williams
A memorial service is scheduled for former Seminole resident Lloyd E. Williams at 2 p.m. on Feb. 18 in the Fayetteville, Ark. National Cemetery.
Williams, 83, died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2005 in Bella Vista, Ark. He was born near Healton on June 15, 1921 to Newt and Babe Williams.
He graduated from Carr City High School in 1939 and enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1940.
In 1943 he graduated with a commission as a flight officer and he served in World War II and the Korean War as a troop carrier pilot.
His military accomplishments include flying 60 missions during the Berlin Airlift and performing the quickest rescue during the Korea War.
The final military assignment for Williams was as an air squadron, as a pilot, before retiring from the Air Force with a rank of major, was in September 1960.
He married his wife Virginia in 1945 in California. His last reported retirement was while living in Tahlequah.
Williams has had many different interests besides his military endeavors. He has captained a shrimp boat, operated a Ham radio and mastered the computer.
His parents, brother Roy Williams and sister Patricia Landreth preceded him in death.
Surviving him is his wife Virginia of the Arkansas home; sons, Clifford of Houston, Texas, Steven of Colorado, Jeff of Arkansas and Roy of Tulsa; one daughter, Linda Green of Arkansas; sister Betty Posey of Seminole and one brother, Neal residing in Japan.
In lieu of flowers the family wishes that donations please be made in the memory of Major Williams to the Alzheimer Research Organization.
Marc Anthony Williams
Funeral service for Seminole resident Marc Anthony Williams are set for 2 p.m. Friday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Bobby Curry officiating.
Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Williams died Saturday, Sept. 3, 2005, at the age of 33, in Holdenville Hospital.
He was born to Claude Anthony Williams and Shirley Island Williams on Nov. 6, 1971, in Plattsburgh, N.Y.
A longtime Seminole County resident, Williams was a construction worker. He was also a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church.
Williams was preceded in death by his grandfather, Woodrow Island.
He is survived by his mother, Shirley Williams of Seminole; father, Claude A. Williams of Los Angeles, Calif.; brothers, Kendarver Patillo of Seminole, and Richard Patillo of Arizona; sister, Michelle Island of Seminole; and his grandmother, Geraldine Island of Seminole.
Harlan Hearn, Eldon Hearn, Robby Hearn, Wendell Hearn, Terry Simpson and Gilbert Reese are scheduled to serve as pallbearers.
Myrtle Moser Williams
Funeral services for the mother of Seminole resident LaVere Bishop are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rose Hill Abbey Mausoleum with Rev. Al Potts officiating.
Myrtle Moser Williams passed away in her sleep March 7, 2005 in Seminole. She was born in St. Louis, Mo on Sept. 26, 1902 and lived in Oklahoma City since 1908.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Clare Williams.
Myrtle was a beloved member of Mary Avenue United Methodist Church UMW and Chapter BF of P.E.O.
Surviving is her daughter, Mrs. William E. (LaVere) Bishop of Seminole; her son Arthur B. Williams and his wife Betty of Dallas, Texas; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter and nieces and nephews.

Rita Williams
Funeral services for former Seminole resident Rita Nadine "Mac" McDonald Williams, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Chapel in Oklahoma City.
Interment is scheduled for 4 p.m. at Little Cemetery under the direction of Bill Eisenhour Southeast Funeral Home, 5005 S.E., Del City.
Williams, 91, died Monday, July 4, 2005 in Del City. She was born in Seminole County Jan. 2, 1914 to Joel and Vera (Staggs) McDonald.
She began her teaching career in the Seminole County schools.
Surviving are daughters Joy Malloy, Rosemary Morgan and five grandchildren.
