Lelia Mae Edwards

Graveside Services for longtime Seminole resident Lelia Mae Edwards are scheduled for 11 a.m., Thursday at Little Cemetery with Rev. Doyle Long officiating.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Lelia Mae Edwards passed away, Tuesday, June 6, 2006 at the age of 86. She was born May 19, 1920 in Rocky Ford, Okla. to W.M. and Annie Mae Shook.

She moved to Seminole 34 years ago from Ponca City and was a sales clerk for Sharpes clothing store and was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Seminole.

Her parents; her first husband and the father of her children, Floyd Blackwood, Sr (in 1996); husband, Graham Edwards; son, Floyd Blackwood, Jr.; daughter, Jan Blackwood and granddaughter, Jennifer Blackwood preceded her in death.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law; Betty and Kenneth King of Seminole; eight grandchildren, Bruce and Leslie King, Kenny and Jennifer King, Lance and Laura King, Natasha and Kevin Williams, Trevor and Kasey Thomas, Ashley and Curtis Thomas, Bobbie and Victor Davis and Brett Blackwood; 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Casket bearers for the services will be Bruce King, Kenny King, Lance King, Kevin Williams, Curtis Thomas, and Victor Davis.

James Eischeid

A mass of Christian burial for longtime Konawa area resident, James "Jim" Henry Eischeid, is scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Cemetery with Father Matthew Brown, OSB, officiating.

Interment is to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery with full military honors under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Konawa.

A Rosary has been scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa.

Eischeid, 78, died Friday, Dec. 1, 2006 at Valley View Regional Hospital in Ada. He was born Sept. 24, 1928 in Ada to Henry and Anita (Zoeller) Eischeid.

He was raised in the Konawa area and graduated from Konawa High school. Eischeid received a bachelor’s degree from East Central University in Ada.

Eischeid enlisted in the United States Navy and served during the end of World War II and received an honorable discharge.

He later enlisted in the United States Air Force and was a fighter pilot during the Korean War, having received numerous medals.

Eischeid attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and retired from the armed forces on Sept. 12, 1973, having served his country for 30 years.

On Nov. 3, 1984 he married Marie Nicklas at Sacred Heart.

After retirement he worked cows on his ranch located outside Konawa. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

His parents; one daughter, Andrea Douglas, and one sister, JoAnn Newton, preceded him in death.

Surviving is his wife of the home; three sons, Greg Eischeid of Edmond, Doug Eischeid of Weatherford, Texas and James Roger Eischeid of Oklahoma City; two stepdaughters, Janice Blakely of Springtown, Texas and Maggie pace of Houston, Texas; one brother, Bill Eischeid of Edmond; six grandchildren, three step grandchildren and one step great-grandson.

George Ensminger Sr.

Funeral services for former Wewoka resident George Donald Ensminger Sr. were scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2006, at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Chapel in Hugo.

Interment was set to follow at the Springs Chapel Cemetery in Hugo, with Rev. Larry Ensminger officiating, assisted by Don Ensminger.

George Ensminger Sr. died Aug. 17, 2006, at 1:25 p.m., at the Dubois Hospital in Paris, Texas, at the age of 76.

He was born on March 16, 1934, in Duncan, to Lawrence and Willie Mae (Sircey) Ensminger.

He grew up in Wewoka, and in June 1958 graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science and Engineering.

Ensminger married Bernice Virginia Sheppard on July 7, 1958, in Ada.

He began a career with the U.S. Department of Agriculture in 1958, in Clinton, and was then assigned the position of project engineer at the USDA office in Bristow, from 1959-61.

Ensminger became the project engineer at Ada and served there from 1961 to 1969. Beginning in 1969, he transferred to Hugo, again serving as project engineer and remained there until his retirement in 1989.

He was the guest of honor at a reception held for him by his state and regional co-workers.

In 1990, he went to work for the Agricultural Commission of Oklahoma as a consulting engineer and was in that position for five years.

During his career, Ensminger designed and platted over 300 watershed dams in Eastern Oklahoma.

He was a member of the Oklahoma Engineers and Land Surveyors, and served as Leading Knight for the Elks Lodge in the early 1970s.

He and his family were confirmed and baptized into the Episcopal Church in 1973.

In 2000, Ensminger began volunteer work as an assistant Scoutmaster in Troop 387 of the NeTseO Trail Council. He served on staff at several "Mom and Me" and "Dads N Lads" Cub Scout camps.

Ensminger also spent many summers camping at Camp Dierk’s, which became like a second home to him.

He was a Brotherhood member of the Loquanne Allangwh Order of the Arrow.

Troop 387 was set to provide an honor guard for Ensminger at his funeral service.

Ensminger also supported local 4-H and FFA projects.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, L.W. Ensminger Jr.; and a sister, Geneva Cariker.

Ensminger is survived by his wife, Bernice, of the home; a daughter, Denise Smith, of Boswell; a son, George Donald Ensminger Jr., of Ft. Collins, Colo.; a sister, Gwen Tilley, of Wewoka; a brother, John Ensminger, of Duncan; and three grandchildren.

Jackie Epperley

Graveside memorial services for Sasakwa native Jackie Alleen Epperley are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Oakwood Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.

Ms. Jackie Epperley passed away quietly on Friday, March 17, 2006 at Muskogee Region Medical Center. She was 80 years old having been born in Sasakwa on May 30, 1925.

She retired from George Meyer State Farm Insurance in Muskogee and from Northwest Floriday Mental Health Center in Panama City, Fla., being employed as an executive secretary.

Ms. Epperley was more than a daughter, sister, sister-in-law or aunt; she was the loving union within a family for three generations.

Her mother and father, Iva Epperley Sharpe and Did Epperley; brother, Don Epperley; sisters, Mae Laverne Lawson and Otha Epperley and brother-in-law, Arthur Lawson preceded her in death.

Ms. Epperley is survived by one sister and brother-in-law, Mrs. Wanda Whiteker and Dean Whiteker of Muskogee; niece, Kevin (Whiteker) Musgrave of Middleburg, Fla.; sister-in-law, Mrs. Don Epperley of Tulsa; nephews, Steve Epperley and Joe Don Epperley of Tulsa; nieces, Linda Carter of Muskogee and Terry Jeffords of San Antonio, Texas and Dale McGill of Panama City, Fla.

She is also survived by Bobby and Tracie Goodspeed, Madison Hayes, Cody and Adrain Goodspeed, Jimmy, Deanna, Colton and Harli Bartholet, all of Muskogee; Chad, Nicol, Cade and Colin Simecek, all of Kingswood, Texas and Paul Garrison of Middlesburg, Fla.

Leona Louise Eubank

Funeral services for Leona Louise Eubank, age 83, of Seminole, are 2 p.m. Thursday at the Allen First Baptist Church.

Rev. Russell Ryker will officiate, assisted by Rev. Chad Kaminski. Burial will follow at Citra Cemetery.

Family and friends may call at the Allen Chapel from 4 p.m. Tuesday until service time Thursday.

Eubank died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2006, at her home in Seminole.

She was born March 8, 1923 in Ada, to Jacob Warren and Lillie Ann Smith Phares.

She graduated from Lula High School.

She attended East Central University in Ada, receiving a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and learning disabilities, and a master’s degree in psychometrics and learning disabilities.

She taught school at Seminole, Mill Creek, and Allen in high school and elementary before retiring in 1990 from Allen Schools.

She was a member of the Allen First Baptist Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Sandra Thornton and husband Ray of Allen, Wilda Pipkin and husband Donnie of Allen, and Sheilah Elliott and husband David of Seminole; a sister, Iona Mae McBee and husband B.C. of Phoenix; granddaughters, Louwanna Muse and husband Mike of Sachse, Texas, Donnieta Ray and husband Kurt of Ada, Debon Rhodes and husband Randy of Rockett, Texas, Christie Scott and husband Shane, of Blanchard; grandsons, Darren Gregory and wife Tina of Ada, Keith Thornton and wife Tonette of Claremore, Tim Eubank of Allen; Jim Eubank of Missouri, Danny Elliott and wife Amanda of Haslett, Texas, and David Elliott of Decatur, Texas; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and 14 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Eubank, on Feb. 21, 1974, and brothers Dewey Phares and Earl Phares.

Casket bearers will be Darren Gregory, Keith Thornton, Tim Eubank, Jim Eubank, Danny Elliott, and David Elliott.

Honorary bearers are Debon Thornton, Donnieta Ray, Louwanna Muse, Christie Scott, Kurt Ray, Shane Scott, Tina Gregory, Amanda Elliott, Tonette Thornton, Mike Muse, and Randy Rhodes.

Services are under the direction of Criswell Funeral Home of Ada.

Alma Factor

Funeral services for Wewoka resident Alma Ann Factor are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Cooper officiating.

Interment is to follow at Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.

Wake services are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. tonight at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel.

Factor age 70, died Wednesday, June 7, 2006 in Oklahoma City. She was born April 9, 1936 in Wewoka to Tony and Yannah (Emarthle) Factor.

She graduated from Chilocco School and retired in 1968 from the nursing field.

Her parents preceded her in death.

Surviving is her son Daryle Factor of Stillwater; daughter, Carmina Tiger of Seminole; six brothers, Charlie D. Factor and Edward Factor, both of Wewoka, Newman Factor of Prague, Noah Factor of Okemah, Walter Factor of Shawnee and Chelene Factor; three sisters, Mary Jane Morgan of Bethany, Christine Factor and Lahoma Roberts, both of Wewoka; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers for the services will be Tim Postoak, Jimsey Factor, Leonard Hulbutta, Tony Morgan, Antonio Factor and Josh Tiger.

Amos Factor Jr.

Funeral services for Wewoka resident Amos Factor Jr. are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at Wewoka Indian Baptist Church with Rev. George Harjochee and assisted by Rev. Wayne Harjo.

Interment is to follow services at Factor Family Cemetery under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.

Wake services are scheduled for 7 p.m. Sunday at Wewoka Indian Baptist Church.

Factor died Feb. 15, 2006 at Wewoka Nursing Home. He was born Oct. 22, 1924 in Wewoka to Amos Factor Sr. and Bettie (Church) Factor.

He graduated from Wewoka High School and was a self-employed painter before hi retirement.

He married Leah Jean Johnson and was a member of the Wewoka Indian Baptist Church.

His parents and two sons preceded him in death.

Surviving are two daughters, Delores Jim of Ada and Katrina Whitfield of Shawnee and one son G.B. Factor of Oklahoma City.
