Funeral services for former Seminole native and longtime resident Alma Flannery are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Baptist Church.
Rev. Steve Cline will be officiating with Darrell Brown assisting. Interment is to follow at Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.
Mrs. Flannery, 82, died Sunday, March 26, 2006 at McAlester Regional Health Center. She was born June 4, 1923 in Seminole to Forest Ed Brown and Forest (Hodges) Brown.
She married Charley R. Flannery on July 7, 1942 in Poteau and he preceded her in death on Jan. 28, 2005.
Mrs. Flannery was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Seminole. In the early years of her life she owned a clothing store in Midland, Texas for 27 years.
She loved people and was a Sunday school teacher and a youth director in Seminole and Midland, Texas. Mrs. Flannery was a choir member at Trinity Baptist and for the past three years she has taught a Sunday Bible class at Heritage Hills Nursing Home in McAlester, where she was a resident.
Her parents, husband, two sisters, Betty Sandlin and Mary Jo Clayton, and one brother, Steve Brown preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her grandparents, Dunk and Mary Brown and Grant and Amede Hodges.
Surviving is one son, Charley Flannery of Seminole; one daughter, Sernanda Anderson of Arpelar, Okla.; five grandchildren, Mike Flannery, Micki Sanders, William Anderson, Serna Anderson and Dana Thompson; three step-grandchildren, Jacque Orndorf, Laura Page and Leslie Prigge and nine great-grandchildren.
Casket bearers for the services will be Dale Brown, Douglas Brown, Duwayne Brown, Keith Sandlin, Raymond Sandlin and Floyd Oliver Sandlin.
Honorary bearers will be Jirl McGinnis, Terry Nix and the Trinity Baptist Church "Naome" Sunday school class.
Dorothy Fleming
Funeral services for Seminole resident Dorothy Fleming are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home, Wewoka.
Rev. Shirley Hill is to officiate and interment is to follow at Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
Fleming, 77, died Tuesday, May 9, 2006 in Shawnee. She was born Feb. 9, 1929 in Sasakwa to Clyde C. Triece and Lula Mae Elrod.
She attended Drumright Vo-Tech and received her licensed practical nurse license. She also received her beautician and realtor licenses.
Fleming was a member of the American Miniature Horse Association and was of the Baptist faith.
On April 6, 1952 she married William Fleming in Kansas and he preceded her in death on Feb. 2, 2006. Her parents also preceded her in death.
Surviving is son, William "Bill" Fleming Jr. of Clinton; daughter, Lorie Reid of Seminole; sister, Ruby Womack of Seminole; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Patricia Fleming
Funeral Services for Patricia Ann Fleming are scheduled for 2 p.m., Friday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Chris Stinnett officiating.
Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.
Patricia Ann (Stults) Fleming of Perryton, Texas was born on Feb. 15, 1931 in Wetumka, Okla. to Jay G. and Della Anna (McCawley) Stults.
She married the love of her life Jesse M. Fleming, Jr. on Feb. 4, 1950 in Okmulgee. She left us on Dec. 24, 2006 in Amarillo, Texas.
She was a bookkeeper where she worked for Phillips Petroleum Company in Perryton, Texas for many years.
Beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, was preceded in death by her husband Jess Fleming of 41 years and two sisters, Verdell King and Viola Taylor.
Pat is survived by two sons, Rick and Kay Fleming of McComb, Miss. and Rand Fleming and his partner Russell Jones of Rowlett, Texas; two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Mark Fleming of Stillwater; two sisters, Pauline Moore of Dumas, Texas and Joyce Hunter of Borger, Texas and brother-in-law Gail Fleming and his wife Anne of Ardmore, Okla.
The family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association, American Lung Association, or a favorite charity in lieu of flowers.
William Fleming
Funeral services for Seminole resident William "Neal" Fleming are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Shirley Hill officiating.
Interment is to follow at Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
Fleming, 78 died Thursday, Feb. 2, 2006 in an Oklahoma City hospital. He was born Dec. 2, 1927 in Drumright to Therald and Nellie Fleming.
He attended Vo-tech and received his diesel mechanic certification and worked for International Pontiac and John Cassidy Equipment, both in Stroud. He retired from Robert Gordon Equipment as a diesel mechanic and was a rancher on the side.
From 1946 – 1951 Fleming served in the United States Army. The Chickasaw Honor Guard will be providing military honors for the funeral.
He married Dorothy Triece in Kansas on April 6, 1952 and two children were born of the union.
His parents, one sister and three brothers preceded him in death.
Surviving is his wife of the home; son William "Bill" Fleming of Clinton; daughter Lorie Reid of Seminole; sister Billie of Blackwell; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Shirilan Foreman
Graveside services for longtime Konawa resident Shirilan Kay Foreman are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday at Vamoosa Cemetery.
Rev. Pam Shirk is to officiate and services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Konawa.
Foreman, 57, died Monday, May 29, 2006 at Unity North Health Center in Shawnee. She was born Dec. 31, 1948 in Oklahoma City to Delbert and Bell Victoria (Pruitt) Porter.
On May 9, 1968 she married Guy L. Foreman in Oklahoma City and was a homemaker.
She also resided in the Maud area and was of the Baptist faith.
Her parents, husband (June 27, 2005), son Jayson Foreman (Dec. 12, 2004, sister Geraldine Porter and two brothers, Lloyd and Eugene Porter preceded her in death.
Surviving is one daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Larry Shay of Konawa; two brothers, Kenneth Porter of Elk City and Roger Porter of Konawa; four sisters, Joyce Porter of Tecumseh, Wanda Atkinson of Muskogee, Juanita Moore of Chickasha and Loveta Barnett of Amarillo, Texas and four grandchildren, Thomas and Destiny Shay and Brendon and Chelsea Foreman, all of Konawa.
Also surviving are several nieces and nephews including special nieces, Sheri Dennis of Garber, Okla. and Michelle Holmquest of Tecumseh and a host of other family and friends.
Emma Foster
Funeral services for Konawa native Emma "Granny" Foster have been set for 2 p.m. tomorrow, Saturday, June 17, 2006, at Resthaven Funeral Chapel in Shawnee.
Burial is set to follow in Wolf Cemetery in Seminole County.
Services are under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home of Shawnee.
A wake is set for tonight, at 6-8 p.m., and visitation will begin tomorrow at 10 a.m.
Foster died Wednesday, June 14, 2006, at the age of 96, at Unity Hospital in Shawnee.
She was born to William Cummings and Mary Pilot-Cummings on Feb. 6, 1910, in Konawa.
In 1945, she married Aaron Foster, who died in 1965.
Emma Foster worked for Douglas Aircraft during World War II.
Foster was preceded in death by both her parents; her husband; three daughters, Pauline Wallace, Mary Lou West, and Rosie Brown; two sisters, Susie Factor and Bertha Sherwood; and a brother, Roger Cummings.
She is survived by three daughters, Christine Wood of Shawnee, Juanita Factor of Seminole, and May West Howell of Tee; a son, Robert West Jr. of Seminole; three brothers, Andrew Douglas of Shawnee, O.B. Douglas of Wewoka, and B.T. Douglas of Maud; two sisters, Lillie B. Harjo of Kansas, and Corene White of Shawnee; and numerous grandchildren.
Gilbert Foster
Services for lifelong Seminole resident Gilbert Ray "Gib" Foster were held today at 2 p.m. at the Swearingen Funeral Chapel. The burial followed at the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.
Foster, 85, died Saturday. He was born Oct. 28, 1920 in Earlsboro to William McCain and Susie Lucille (Presley) Foster.
He married Alice (Pharr) Foster Dec. 25, 1941 in Seminole.
Foster served in the United States Army during WWII. He began working at the Seminole Bakery, then ran a chicken route. Foster worked for Modern Appliance, then owned and operated Foster Refrigeration in Seminole during the early 1950s.
He was a lifelong member of the American Legion Post 204, serving 18 years as a finance officer and four years as a commander.
After retirement in 1979, Foster played golf. He volunteered for the American Legion for 35 years.
His wife of the home, and three daughters, Cynthia Easter of Sand Springs, Shirly Nelson of Oklahoma City, and Patricia of Seminole survives Foster.
He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.

Velda Fox
A visitation has been scheduled for Maud resident Velda Mae Fox for Monday, from 4 – 7 p.m., at the Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home in Maud.
After cremation, the remains will be interred in the Fox Family Cemetery in Spencer, W. Va.
Services are under the direction of Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home, Maud.
Velda Mae Fox, passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2006 at the age of 62. She was born on June 6, 1944 in Harrisburg, Pa., the daughter of the late Eugene and Jackie Board Fox.
The family settled in Parkersburg, W. Va., where she graduated with a R.N. degree from the Camden-Clark Hospital School of Nursing. During her nursing career, she served as a public health nurse, a TB nurse and as a psychiatric nurse.
She was retired/disabled from the Timothy B Moritz Forensic Psychiatric Center of the State of Ohio in 1988.
Velda will be remembered and missed for her quick wit and intelligent, inquisitive mind.
She is survived by her sister, Debra Fox and husband, Bob Meyers; her niece, Chloe J. Fox and her nephew; Ben Fox, all of Maud.
Survivors also include her favorite aunt, Audra Wilds of Bowerston, Ohio; four sisters, Judy Casto of Parkersburg, W. Va., Betty Bessent of Orange Park, Fla., Diana Jones of Green Bank, W. Va., Barbara Woolcock of Cross Lanes, W. Va.; brother, Roderick D. Fox of Little Hocking, Ohio; uncle, Pete Fox of Spencer, W Va. and various nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family wishes to thank the staff of the Maud Housing Authority, Lucy Jean Mason of Ada, the staff of the Behavioral Medicine Unit at Norman Regional Hospital and especially the Maud Volunteer Fire Department for the many runs to her home over the past years.

Angela Frazier
Funeral services for former Konawa resident Angela Ruth Frazier were held yesterday at 3 p.m. at Mills & Coffey Funeral Chapel in Antlers.
Interment followed the service at Rattan Cemetery in Rattan, Okla.
Frazier, 43, died Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006 in Ardmore. She was born April 25, 1963 in Dallas, Texas to Wayland and Elizabeth Estelle (Lasley) Frazier.
She was a certified nurses assistant and in her free time she enjoyed doing intricate beadwork and spending time with her grandchildren.
Her parents and sister, Tina Marie Frazier preceded her in death.
Surviving is her son, Derrick Clay of Antlers; three daughters, Cassandra Frazier, Andrea Frazier and Kortney Powell, all of Pauls Valley; brother, Lance Frazier; sister, Pamela Frazier of Konawa and three grandchildren.
Bearers for the services were: Michael Clay, Allen Clay, Randell Clay, Rusty Courtwright, Jay Winship, Brandon Winship, Kike Cook and Kenneth Ross Winship, Jr.
