Lillie Holt

Graveside services for longtime Seminole resident Lillie "Tee" Bell Holt are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Little Cemetery with Tracy Holt officiating.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Holt, 95, died Monday, March 6, 2006 in Shawnee. She was born Aug. 11, 1910 in Asher to Theodore and Elvira (Mullins) Holt.

Her parents; three brothers, Earnest Holt, Charles Holt and Robert Holt and three sisters, Lottie Badger, Cassie Hill and Dewey Farley preceded her in death.

Surviving are many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Robert Honsinger

Funeral services for lifelong Konawa resident Robert Stanley "Ace" Honsinger are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Vamoosa Baptist Church with Kevin Duck officiating.

Interment is to follow at Vamoosa Cemetery in Konawa under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Konawa.

Honsinger, 66, died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2006 at Ada retirement Center. He was born on Feb. 5, 1940 in Vanoss to Benny and Thelma Pearl (Hunt) Lehman.

He served in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge on Jan. 31, 1965.

Honsinger worked as a driller in the area oilfields and was a member of Vamoosa Baptist church.

He was an avid golfer and enjoyed music. He was very proud of his hole-in-one at an Ada golf course.

His parents preceded him in death.

Surviving are his three sons, Bo Honsinger and Robert B. Honsinger, both of Konawa and Stanley "Bush" Honsinger of Sasakwa; two sisters, Zelma McCraw of Konawa and Rita Graham of Calhoun, Ill. and seven grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be Bruce McCraw, Kelly Neely, Duane Brock, Clint Hanks, Stephen Palmer and Denver Palmer.

Honorary bearers will be Tony Wolf, T.J. Wolf, Kenny Bennett, Chris Honsinger, Corey Fixico, Travis Honsinger and Ray Trapp.

Bradley Horton

Services for Bradley Dale Horton are scheduled for Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Wewoka with Rev. Terrill Parvin and Rev. Michael Vallandingham officiating.

Interment will follow at Holdenville Cemetery under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.

Brad, of Shawnee, died Thursday, Aug. 24, 2006 in his home at the age of 36 years. He was born March 17, 1970 in Holdenville.

Brad graduated from Wewoka High School in 1988. He was active in football, basketball and tennis.

Following High School Brad attended Seminole Jr. College and then transferred to Oklahoma University.

Brad was employed with Americontact working as a National Account Manager.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wewoka. He was baptized April 8, 1979.

Brad was a huge fan of OU! During his youth Brad so enjoyed his attending OU football games on Saturdays with Pa-pa. They also shared many travels on Pa-pa’s bread truck.

Brad’s happiest days were when he was with his family. During his youth he and his Mom and Sister would go to Wetumka Lake for big family get together.

He would always talk about, "Mamma using her cast iron skillet." Brad enjoyed camping, and every year he and his family would float down the Illinois River, and he loved that time together.

Brad loved music, maybe because every Saturday morning Mom would wake him and his sister and "crank up the music" because it was time to clean!

Brad and his mother shared many hours listening to music which he passed on to his sons. Brad enjoyed grilling and considered himself a Master Chef, jokingly with his family.

Brad became an avid golf player. He was proud he had taught all three of his boys to love the water just as he learned as a young boy.

Brad is survived by his wife, Amber (Lawrence) Horton of the home; three children, Tyler Levi Horton of Oklahoma City, Hunter Calvin Horton of Mustang and Bryson Cruz Horton of Shawnee; mother, Beverly (Howarth) Horton of Oklahoma City; father, Robert F. Horton of McCloud; sister, Heather and husband Matthew Duvall of Oklahoma City; biological father, Donnie Hardwick of Oklahoma City; grandparents, Calvin and Wanda Howarth of Holdenville, Louise Horton of Wewoka and Lorene Hardwick of Holdenville; uncles, Jim and wife MaryJane Howarth of Tulsa, Sam and wife Casey Horton of Wewoka, Jerry and wife Malinda Hardwick of Holdenville and Terry and wife Donna Hardwick of Holdenville; cousin, Kevin Howarth of Oklahoma City and a host of other relatives and numerous friends.

Brad touched many lives with his humor and love of life.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Andy Crockett, Ray Sanderson, Michael Black, Brad Huser, Austin Brister, Jerry Hardwick, Ryan LaValley and Shannon Babb and Tony Pettis.

Honorary bearers will be: Tyler Horton, Matthew Duvall, James W. Howarth, Kevin Howarth, Alan Lawrence, Sam Horton, Boomer Sawyer, Lonnie Pyle and Erik Williams.

Lewis Jay Horton

Graveside services for Lewis Jay Horton are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday at Wetumka Cemetery under the direction of Williamson Funeral Home in Wetumka.

Horton, 77, died Monday, Jan. 2, 2006 in Seminole. He was born June 7, 1928 in Dustin.

He was raised by and preceded in death by Mose and Lena Wright.

Horton married Helen Louise Williams on Nov. 21, 1958.

Surviving is his wife Helen of the home; daughter, Deanna Graham; one granddaughter and one grandson, all of Seminole.

Larry Houck Sr.

Funeral services for longtime Seminole resident Joseph Larry Houck, Sr. are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Temple of Praise Pentecostal Church of God in Seminole.

Rev. Harold Turner is to officiate with interment to follow at Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Houck died Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2006 at Seminole Medical Center at the age of 59. He was born Aug. 16, 1946 in Seminole to William Henry Houck and Naoma Louise (Lee) Houck.

He married Carole Rosetta Pittman on Feb. 18, 1966 in Seminole and he was a minister residing in Seminole for the past 56 years.

Houck was a veteran who had served in the United States Navy.

His twin brother, George Garry Houck; sister, Lawanda Shafer; father and one brother, Lucky Houck preceded him in death.

Surviving is his mother and stepfather, Naoma and Ernie Robinson of Seminole; two sons, Joseph Larry Houck Jr. of Washington, Okla. and Steven Eugene Houck of Fairbanks, Alaska; four daughters, Rebecca Ann White of Longview, Texas, Naoma Carol Nance of Seminole, Laurie Elizabeth Stone of Tecumseh and Rachel Dawn Moobs of Fayetteville, Ark. and 14 grandchildren.

In addition, he has three brothers, Leonard Bernard Houck of Shawnee, Bill Henry Houck of Wasilla, Alaska and Toby Terrell Houck of Tulsa and one sister, Lisa Owens of Seminole who survive him.

Pallbearers for the services are Dean Welch, James Winkcompleck, Donald Emmitt, gene Houck, Joe Houck and Buster McCoy.

Jolene Householder

Graveside funeral services for Maud resident Jolene Ann Householder are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at Cummings Cemetery.

Steve Martin will officiate; burial will be under the direction of Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home of Maud.

Householder died Monday at her home in Maud at the age of 64.

She was born May 29, 1942, in Clay Center, Kans., to Ray and Jean (Hillman) Gebhardt.

She moved to Maud 15 years ago from Sulphur.

She was a homemaker and had worked as a substitute teacher at Sulphur Schools.

She was a member of Good Hope Road Church of Christ in Seminole, and was a member of the Magic Brush Art Club in Ada. She served as a leader with the Girl Scout Sooner Council in Sulphur.

She married Clifford David Householder, who survives her of the home.

Other survivors include her father of Clay Center; one son, Robert Householder, Maud; three daughters, Julie Morris, Oklahoma City, Sheryl Dewitt, Mesa, Ariz., and Deanna Panio, Yorktown Heights, NY; two sisters, Carlene Taylor and Goldie Bruebaker, both of Kansas; and two grandchildren.

Gertrude Houser

Funeral services for Wewoka native Gertrude Francis (South) Houser are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday at Concord Missionary Baptist Church, 1500 Stubbeman, Norman.

Graveside services are scheduled for 3 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery, Wewoka. Rev. Kenneth Gibson of Van Buren, Ark. and Rev. Doug Gregg of Norman are to officiate.

Services are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman. Family visitation is scheduled for Monday between 6 – 8 p.m. at Havenbrook.

Houser, 86 of Norman, died Thursday, June 1, 2006. She was born Nov. 8, 1919 in Wewoka to Rubin Walter South and Nolia Frances Morrison South.

She married Roy Elmer Houser on Aug. 28, 1937 and she was known for her role as a children’s Sunday school teacher and the many children she babysat there.

Houser was a member of Concord Missionary Baptist Church in Norman.

Her parents; husband; brothers, R.G. South and James G. South and granddaughter, Marsha Regina Short preceded her in death.

Surviving are three daughters, Mary Johnson of Oklahoma City, Carrol Reynolds of Norman and Beverly Jones of Oklahoma City; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to Concord Baptist Church.

Joy Houston

Funeral services for former Sasakwa resident Joy Marcus Houston are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Ada with Floyd Kaiser officiating.

Burial is to follow at Vamoosa Cemetery under the direction o f Criswell Funeral Home.

Mr. Houston, 84 of Ada, died Friday, Dec. 8, 2006 at his home. He was born to James Henry and Nora Bryant Houston.

He attended grade school at Cully and high school in Sasakwa. Mr. Houston completed the tenth grade.

After 40 plus years in the oilfield, he retired. He was a member of the Southwest Church of Christ and was in the United States Army during World War II.

On July 3, 1942 he married Alice Harris in Sasakwa.

Two sons, Richard Glen and Darrell Ray; daughter, Dianna Joyce Calvert; three sisters and three brothers preceded him in death.

Surviving is his wife, Alice Houston of the home; son, Ronnie Houston and wife Barbara of Ada; grandson (whom he reared), Kevin Calvert and companion, Suzie Davis, of Cleveland, Ohio; sister, Estelle Lyon of Wewoka; brother, Preston Houston of Columbia, Ohio; grandchildren, Tina Houston of Ada and Marcus Houston and wife Natalie of Ada; great-grandchildren, Kelly Calvert, Stephen Calvert, Chantz Houston, Brandon Houston, Darrin Houston, Marissa Houston, Tiffany Houston, Parris Houston and Rayne Houston.

Bearers for the services will be Marcus Houston, Chantz Houston, Kelly Calvert, Stephen Calvert, Johnny Harris and Allan Barnes.

Honorary bearers will be James Harris, Norman Bullock, Randy Bullock, Sammy Harjo, Cecil Moore and Bill Scott.
