Funeral services for lifelong Wewoka resident Laura Elizabeth Lawson are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church.
Rev. John May will be officiating and interment is to follow at Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
Lawson, 88 died Thursday, Feb. 2, 2006 at Seminole Estate Nursing Home. She was born June 6, 1917 in Dow to Lorince Burton and Darlene (Long) Burton.
She attended Wewoka Schools and went on to college. Later she worked for Lillian Russell Garment Factory in Wewoka as an office manager.
Lawson was a member of First United Methodist Church and was a Sunday school teacher. Her memberships also included Eastern Star and the Country Club Golf Group.
She married Carl L. Lawson Feb. 21, 1957 and was married for 46 years. The couple traveled with the Good Sam Club following his retirement.
Her parents and husband preceded her in death.
Surviving are two sons, Larry Lawson of Scottsdale, Ariz. and Steven Lawson of Shawnee; one daughter, Sandra Fields of Yukon; four grandsons, one granddaughter; four great-grandchildren and sister, DeeDee Steidly of McAlester.
Pamela Lawson
Graveside services for Wewoka resident Pamela Ann Lawson are scheduled for Wednesday, with visitors to gather at the family home on Seran Drive from 3 p.m. onwards.
Services are under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home, Wewoka.
Pamela Ann Lawson died Friday, Sept. 29, 2006 after a lengthy illness. Born to D.T. Lawson and Helen Douglas Lawson in 1952.
Pam was a graduate of Wewoka High School’s illustrious class of ’42 and attended East Central State Teachers College as an art major until marrying Tommy Harralson in 1944.
Pam’s careers ranged from billboard designer and newspaper columnist to legal secretary and office manager.
In 1995 she retired from Cochran Chemical Company to care for her family and resume her practice of domestic arts.
Survivors include her daughter, Rebecca Cornett of Nacogdoches, Texas; grandson, Josh Cornett of Austin, Texas; Walker Cornett of Dallas, Texas; a sister, Betty Barb of Midland, Texas and an uncle, Stephen Douglas of Oklahoma City.
Billy Joel Lee
Funeral services for former Seminole resident Billy Joel Lee are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at Valley Funeral Home, 6512 Guide Meridan, Linden, Wash.
Billy passed away in a hospital Thursday, Oct. 12, 2006 in Billingham, Wash. He was born Jan. 18, 1986 in Washington to Debbie Lee and Patrick McGee.
He was a graduate of New Lima High School, Class of 2003.
His grandmother, Rosie Lee of Washington, preceded him in death.
Surviving is his mother, Debbie, and his stepfather, Patrick of Washington and numerous aunts, uncles and family.
Lois Virginia Lee
Funeral services for longtime Seminole County resident Lois Virginia "Jenny" Lee are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at Calvary Tabernacle in Del City.
Rev. Paul Sharp, Rev. Randy Shouland and Rev. Roy Robertson are to officiate the services. Interment is to follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Oklahoma City.
Lee, 60 died Friday, Feb. 3, 2006 at Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City following a lengthy illness. She was born July 6, 1945 in Seminole to John Wesley Quinalty and Dorothy Patricia (Lewis) Quinalty.
She graduated from Seminole High School and worked at Baptist Hospital until 1996. She attended First Assembly of God Church at Bowlegs and was a member of Calvary Tabernacle at Del City.
Her father, brother, David John W. Quinalty and sister, Elizabeth Quinalty preceded her in death.
Surviving is her mother, Dorothy Quinalty of Seminole; two daughters, Dina Machele Lee of Oklahoma City and Tina Rachele Opp-Jeffery of Austin, Texas; three sons, Jim Lee of Booneville, Miss., Eugene Lee of Guam and Randall Lee of Ralston; nine grandsons and one granddaughter.
In addition, four sisters, Patricia Stephens of Kalamazoo, Mich., Ada Mae Ferguson, Vera Roberts of Seminole and Roberta Morgan of Harrah; two brothers, Stan Quinalty and Mark Quinalty, both of Seminole and former husband, Ray Lee survive her.
In lieu of flowers or plants, the family requests that donations be made to the Lupus Foundation.
Shirley Lee
Funeral services for former Seminole resident Shirley Lee were held today at 2 p.m. at Lutheran Memorial Church in Pierre, S.D. with Pastor Paul Bly officiating.
Interment followed at Riverside Cemetery, Pierre under the direction of Isburg Funeral Chapels.
Lee, of Pierre, S., D. died Saturday, July 22, 2006 at Maryhouse Nursing Home in Pierre. She was born Oct. 22, 1928 to Edith Maureen Westlund in Kansas City, Mo.
She was raised and attended school in Pierre and in 1949 she married Sam Winlock in Pierre.
After leaving Pierre she spent most of her adult life in Seminole, moving back to Pierre 15 years ago.
Lee worked various jobs and enjoyed raising her six children, watching their sporting events, writing poetry and playing bingo.
Her mother, Edith; husband, Sam; and one son, Steven Winlock preceded her in death.
Surviving are three sons, Simon Winlock of Shawnee, Richard Winlock of Meeker and Scot Rodney Winlock of Broken Arrow; two daughters, Linda Hackett of Pierre and Ruth Ann Baugus of Seminole; 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Leon Lena III
Funeral services for infant Leon Daniel Lena III were held Monday at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m.
Interment followed at the Lena Family Cemetery under the direction of Stout Phillips Funeral Home.
Leon Daniel Lena III was born and passed away May 4, 2006 in Oklahoma City. He was the newborn son of Mercedes Davis and Leon Daniel Lena Jr.
Leon is survived by his mother and father; two brothers, Jeremiah Glenn and Gabriel Isaiah Davis of Oklahoma City; grandmothers, Francis Glenn and Colleen Veff of Oklahoma City and three aunts and one uncle.
Preceding Leon in death were his two grandfathers, Leon Lena Sr. and Louis Charles Davis.
Kenneth Jake Leonard
A graveside service for Seminole resident Kenneth Jake Leonard has been scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, 2006, at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole.
The service will be officiated by Rev. Harold Turner, under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.
Leonard died Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006, at his home in Seminole, at the age of 74.
He was born July 8, 1932, in Oconto, Neb., to Walter Ray Leonard and Maud May (Nester) Leonard.
On Oct. 9, 1954, he married Martha L. Shaw in Las Vegas, Nev.
Leonard worked as a gang-pipe mechanic for West Kern Water District in Taft, Calif., before retiring in 1994. Upon retirement, he moved to Seminole, and lived here for the last 12 years.
He was a veteran of military service, having been a First Class Seaman in the U.S. Navy.
Leonard was a member of the Temple of Praise.
He is survived by his wife, Martha L. Leonard, of the home in Seminole; two sons, Roger J. Leonard and Timothy J. Leonard, both of Seminole; one brother, Fred Leonard, of California; and four grandchildren.
Shirley Lester
Funeral services for longtime Seminole County resident Shirley M. Lester are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel.
Rev. Glen Pence is to officiate with interment to take place at Rest Haven Memorial Garden under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.
Lester, 76 of Cromwell, died Tuesday, May 2, 2006 in Oklahoma City. She was born May 27, 1929 in Milwaukee, Wis. to Herbert E. Giese and Lydia (Wegehaupt) Giese.
On March 7, 1949 she married Donald L. Lester in Milwaukee.
She is a retired secretary and office manager for Franklin Properties Management Company and was a licensed real estate broker.
Lester was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, a past Worthy Matron, past Secretary and Star Point Ruth. She was very active in Seminole Chapter #452 and was a member of the First Christian Church, Seminole.
Surviving is her husband, Donald of Cromwell; four sons, Michael Lester of Martinez, Ga., David Lester of Evans, Ga., Dan Lester of Carrolton, Ky. and James Lester of Sand Springs; one brother, Warren Giese of Columbia, S.C.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Casket bearers for the services will be James Lester, Dan Lester, Michael Lester, David Lester, Phillip Morris and George Higdon.
Honorary bearers will be Nathaniel Lester, Zachariah Lester, Robby Lester, Jason Lester, Katherine Lester, Heather Morin and Patricia Dant.
Geraldine Levier
Funeral services for longtime Wewoka resident Geraldine Levier are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph Baptist church, Wewoka.
Interment is to follow at Westwood Cemetery under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
Levier, 77, died Saturday, Sept. 16, 2006 at Holdenville General Hospital. She was born June 24, 1929 in Port Barre, La. to Clarence Thompson and Mary (Stelly) Street.
She was the first child born of seven other siblings and she received her education at the Port Barre, La. Public Schools.
Eight children were born to her marriage to Roger Lee Levier. She later came to Oklahoma in 1960 and made her home in Wewoka.
She worked for Oakridge, Porter, and Pioneer Nursing homes, and the Kincaid Store. Levier also worked for in the cafeteria department at Wewoka Public Schools.
Levier was a member of St. Joseph Baptist Church and was baptized by Rev. L.R. Butler.
Her husband; mother; step-dad, George Street, four children; sister, Cindy Street Porter and one grandson, Benny Ray Kemp preceded her in death.
Surviving are her children, Mary Bruner of Wewoka, Shirley Madkins of Del City, Martha Chaney of Oklahoma City, and son David of Del City; five sisters, Mary Miles, Joyce Williams, both of Wewoka, Mary Lee Brown of Earlsboro, Mildred Hill of Phoenix, Ariz., Sandra Street of Oklahoma City; one brother, Joseph Thompson of California; four grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers for the services will be Sampson Johnson, Julius Pickens, Clarence Barnard, Dale James, Jerry Wayne Miles and Ricky Hamilton.
Brandi Lewis
Funeral services for the granddaughter of Charles and Susan Robertson of Wewoka are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Strode Funeral Home Chapel with pastor Will Jenkins officiating.
Interment is to take place at 2:30 p.m. at El Reno cemetery under the direction of Strode Funeral Home, Stillwater.
Brandi Renea Lewis, 22 of Perry, died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006 at Stillwater Medical Center. She was born April 12, 1984 in Stillwater to Lee Allen Crusha and Paula Louise Robertson.
She attended school in Morrison and Ripley and she was a very hard worker, but also a fun loving and outgoing person.
On Jan. 22, 2004 she married Alan Lewis in Perry and was a cashier at KFC.
She enjoyed her music and the outdoors and she loved to go camping, fishing and swimming (even though she was scared of the water).
Brandi loved her entire family and enjoyed the time she could share with them and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Her grandfather, jack Crusha, preceded her in death.
Surviving is her husband; parents, Lee and Pamela Crusha of Morrison and Paula Wilson and husband Mike Russell of Stillwater; two sons, Aden Hunter Lewis and Ryan Lee Marshall; one daughter, Madison Chesteen Marshall; two brothers, Robert Clint Dixon and Chance Crusha; two sisters, Amber and Emily Crusha; grandparents, Verma and husband, Henry, Ratliff of Buffalo, Mo., Charles and Susan Robertson of Wewoka and John and Doris Scott of Perkins and father-in-law, Billy Reamy of Perry.
