Dorothy Loving

Funeral services for Seminole resident Dorothy June Loving are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole.

Bruce Benson will officiate with interment to follow at Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Loving, 55, died Monday, Oct. 2, 2006 at her home in Seminole. She was born Dec. 2, 1948 in Cove, Ark. to parents, Ruby Jewel (Arthur) and Delton Lawrence Brock.

She was a homemaker who moved to Seminole in 1978 from Oklahoma City, and was of the Baptist faith.

On July 18, 1991 she married Edward Earl Loving in Seminole. He survives her of the home.

Other survivors include her mother, Ruby Jewel Bemo of Seminole; one son, Robert Thomas Reed, Jr. of Newalla; one daughter, Lana Jo Tipton of Choctaw; three step-sons, Shane Hester of Seminole, Jeremy Loving of Oregon and Edward A. Loving of Rush Springs; one step-daughter, Alisha Loving of Kansas; one brother, Delton Dewayne Brock of Seminole; one sister, Norma Jo Benedict of Yukon; nine grandchildren and one on the way and two great grandchildren with two on the way.

Her father, one daughter, Myra Lee Locust and one brother Haskel Thomas Brock preceded her in death.

Casket bearers will be Richard Could, James Kolander, John Wood, Robert Reed, Mica Tipton, James Carson Jenkins, Jr. and Carl C. McMillion.

Oleva Lucas

Funeral services for Holdenville resident Oleva E. Lucas are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home, Holdenville.

Interment is to follow at Holdenville Cemetery under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.

Lucas, 97, died Tuesday, June 13, 2006 at her home. She was born Sept. 25, 1908 to Bob and Rosetta Chinn.

She enjoyed gardening and was fortunate to be able to work in her flowerbed up until she was 95 years old. She especially took pride in her roses.

Lucas had a very special relationship with her grandson, Jimmie Madron, who lived with her and dedicated his life to taking care of her.

Her parents; two brothers, Odie and Homer Chinn; one sister, Vera Chinn; one stepson, Lester Madron and three husbands, Jim Franks, Edgar Madron and Bud Lucas preceded her in death.

Surviving is her sister, Lucille Adams of Holdenville; stepson, Don Madron of Wewoka and 12 step-grandchildren.

Paul David Lucas

Funeral services for former Wewoka Food Center employee Paul David Lucas are set for Saturday, Oct. 7, 2006, at the Hudson-Phillips Funeral Chapel in Holdenville.

Lee Wayne Fowler and Chaplain Bud Ross will officiate, under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home of Holdenville.

Burial will follow at the family cemetery.

Lucas died Oct. 4, 2006, after a tragic truck accident three miles south of Holdenville on SH 48, at the age of 37.

He was born July 7, 1969, in Talihina, to Johnson Paul Lucas and Paula McDonald Spriggs.

Lucas moved to Holdenville with his family when he was 11 years old. He graduated from Moss High School.

After high school, Lucas worked as assistant manager at Wewoka Food Center.

He was employed by Tyson Foods at the time of his death.

Lucas’ interests included baseball, four-wheelers and deer hunting.

He is survived by his parents; two daughters, Heather Leann Lucas and Ashley Dawn Lucas; one son, Brian Paul Larry Lucas; two brothers, Jonathan Spriggs and Joshua Spriggs; and one sister, Amber Davis.

Pallbearers for the funeral services will be Jimmy Choate, Patrick Townley, James Holman, James Henry, Earl DeLozier, and Rich McKibbin. Honorary bearers are listed as Rick Allen, Marvin Rogers, and Kevin Brewer.

Betty Luckens

Funeral services for Wewoka resident Betty Marie (Qualls) Luckens are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at the Assembly of God Church in Wewoka with Pastor Perry O. Justus officiating.

Interment is to follow at Little Cemetery under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.

Luckens, 67, died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2006 in Holdenville. She was born Jan. 13, 1939 in Tulare, Calif. to Waymon Lee Qualls and Ruth (Whisenhunt) Qualls.

She attended Duncan Schools and was of the Christian faith. Luckens was active in Women’s Ministry and was a seamstress.

Luckens also worked for the Oakridge Nursing Home as a secretary.

Her parents; infant son, Terry Dark and three brothers, Dub Qualls, Troy Qualls and Joe Qualls preceded her n death.

Surviving are three sons, Ricky Dark of Fayetteville, Ark., Tom Stevens of Harrah and Lonnie Stevens of Wewoka; two sisters, Margaret Parman of Watonga and Barbara Jones of Halton City, Texas; one brother, Rog Qualls of Grapeville, Texas; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Jannie Lyon

Funeral services for longtime Seminole resident, Jannie Louise Lyon are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Seminole with Tommy Clark officiating.

Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Lyon passed away on Sunday, Oct. 1, 2006 at the age of 88 at Seminole Medical Center. She was currently a resident at Seminole Estates Nursing Center.

She was born on June 6, 1918 in Konawa to Jeff L. and Roxie (Kemper) Akin. She was a graduate of Konawa High School.

Louise married Paul Lyon on Nov. 12, 1941 in Sasakwa. He preceded her in death on Feb. 3, 1998.

Louise was a retired secretary at Pleasant Grove School in Seminole County. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Seminole Retired Teacher's Association.

The family would like to give special thanks to: the staff of Seminole Estates Nursing Home, Doctors Park Home Health of Shawnee, Dr. McCrory and the staff of Seminole Medical Center for all the kindness and care they have shown to Louise for many years.

Her parents, husband, son Danny Lyon, brothers Frank Akin, Jube Akin, and Bobby Akin, and sisters Kate Sweetman, Virginia Zoeller, and Mildred Streetman preceded her in death.

Louise is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David and Debbie Lyon of Seminole; sister, Mary Dorr of Edmond and sisters-in-law Bobbie Upton of Seminole and Estelle Lyon of Wewoka.

She is also survived by two granddaughters, Trisha and husband Matt Weber of Duncan and Traci and husband Nick Gray of Ft. Worth, Texas, and one great grandson, Cody Weber of Duncan.

In lieu of flowers the family has suggested that contributions be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund.

Elizabeth Macklin

Funeral services for former Seminole resident Elizabeth Wynne Macklin are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Moore’s Rosewood Chapel, 2570 S. Harvard in Tulsa.

Interment is to follow at Okmulgee cemetery under the direction of Moore Funeral Homes, Inc.

Macklin, 84, died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2006. She was born April 29, 1922 in Morris, Okla. to Robert "Bert" C. Wynne and Mae Edwards Wynne.

Until retirement she was a homemaker and substitute teacher, also employed by Amoco. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church.

Her parents and husband, Sidney Thomas Macklin, preceded her in death.

Surviving is son, Gordon Macklin of Ft. Gibson; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Willard Henry Madron

Funeral services for lifelong Wewoka resident Willard Henry Madron are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Stout-Phillips Funeral Chapel with Chaplain Jim Ward officiating.

Interment is to follow at Tate Mountain Cemetery in Wewoka under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.

Willard passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2006 in an Oklahoma City hospital at the age of 53. He was born Jan. 3, 1953 in Holdenville to Henry Madron and Lois Cross Madron of Wewoka.

He graduated from Wewoka High School in 1971 and later married Cathy Lynn Ward of Holdenville.

Willard worked for Kahan & Associates for more than 25 years as production foreman and he loved to restore old cars and raise cattle.

His father preceded him in death.

Surviving is his wife Cathy of the home; two sons, Kelly Wayne Madron and wife Jenna of Wewoka and Travis Paul Madron and wife Kathleen of Tecumseh; four daughters, Jennifer Gayle Madron of Janesville, Wis., Megan Michelle Madron of Loma Linda, Calif., Brandy Nicole Madron and Lisa Marie Madron, both of Wewoka and five grandchildren.

In addition two brothers, Ronald Gene Madron and wife Diana of Pawnee and Michael Glenn Madron and wife Linda of Wewoka and numerous aunts, cousins and other relatives survive.

Pallbearers will be David Wilson, Richard Kilgore, Buddy Gore, Britt Waltman, Bobby Douthit and Stanley Whitlock. Honorary bearers will be Phil Whitlock, Don Madron and John Sneed.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Madron Children’s’ College Fund in care of Security State Bank.

Clara Majors

Graveside services for former Konawa resident Clara Miller Majors are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Konawa City Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Konawa.

Majors, 86, died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2006 at her residence in Tulsa. She was born Jan. 4, 1920 in Asher, Okla. to Robert and Stella (Crenshaw) Conn.

She was raised in the Konawa area and has been a resident of Tulsa since 1959.

In 1963 she married Ernest Majors in Tulsa and has worked as a secretary for a crane rental company in Tulsa. She was of the Baptist faith.

Her parents, husband (2000) and one brother, Roy Conn preceded her in death.

Surviving is one daughter, Janice Harrell of Tulsa; one sister, Virginia Ruppert of Asher; one grandson, one great-grandson and one great-great grandchild.

Fern Malone

Funeral services for Seminole County native Fern "Granny" Malone are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.

Rev. Gary Nickerson is to officiate. Interment is to follow services at Collins Cemetery in St. Louis under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home.

Malone, 82, of Macomb, died Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2006 at Unity Health Center North in Shawnee. She was born March 4, 1923 in Seminole County to James William McBroom and Lizzia Mae (Johnson) McBroom.

She married Walter Malone on July 11, 1950 in Sulphur and was a longtime Macomb area resident.

Malone was a homemaker and friend to all who knew her, as well as of the Baptist faith.

Her parents; husband, Walter (Oct. 1, 1993); one son, Cecil Malone; one brother and three sisters preceded her in death.

Surviving are two sons, James Box of Waterloo, N.Y. and Chris Malone of Alexandria, Va.; three daughters, Melba, Molly and Anita Malone, all of Macomb; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

In addition, she has three brothers, Isaac McBroom of Davis, John McBroom of Sulphur and Frank McBroom of Mounds and two sisters, Ola Brown of Pauls Valley and Leona Richardson of Purcell surviving her.
