Funeral services for Holdenville resident, Velma Alyene McGeeley, are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Salt Creek United Methodist Church with Rev. George Harjoche officiating.
An evening prayer service has been scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, Holdenville.
A procession to Salt Creek Church will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday with interment at McGeeley Cemetery, north of Holdenville, under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.
McGeeley, 84, died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2006 in Oklahoma City. She was born Nov. 6, 1922 in Hughes County to Charlie Deer and Louella Beaver.
She was raised in the Lamar area of Hughes County and attended Lamar Schools. She moved to Pecan Grove in 1955 and remained there until her passing.
McGeeley was an active member of Salt Creek Church for many years; she enjoyed being a part of the church family, sewing and cooking.
Her husband, Frank McGeeley, and her parents preceded her in death.
Surviving are four children, Jerry Deer of Coweta, Pat Williams of Kansas, Okla., Linda Stewart of Holdenville and Beatrice Sanders of Tulsa; 14 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
Brian McGehee
Funeral services for Prague resident Brian Wayne McGehee are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church, Prague with Bro. Tim Emmons officiating.
Interment is to follow at Little Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service, Prague.
McGehee, 17, died Monday, June 26, 2006 in Prague. He was born Sept. 12, 1988 in Ardmore to Frederic Wayne McGehee and Terrie Renee (Smith) Fried.
Surviving is his mother and stepfather, Terrie and Richard Fried of Prague; father and stepmother, Frederic and Karen McGehee of Prague; two brothers, Thomas McGehee of Seminole and Christopher Fried of Prague; sister, Lauren Fried of Prague; maternal grandparents, Bob and Suzan Smith of Seminole and paternal grandparents, Richard L. Fried of Prague, Geri Fried of Hoover, Ala. and Ursula and Volker Gebel of Germany.
Alice McGuire
Funeral services for longtime Maud resident Alice Virrilia (Edwards) McGuire are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, Maud with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating.
Interment is to follow at Cummings Cemetery under the direction of Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home, Maud.
McGuire, 97, died Saturday, July 15, 2006 in Ardmore. She was born July 20, 1908 in Konawa to Isaac Nathan and Claudia Vesta (Birdieshaw) Edwards.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Maud and a member of the Eastern Star Lodge.
Her parents; husband, John Delbert McGuire; son, Bill Lee McGuire; four brothers and six sisters preceded her in death.
Surviving are three sons, Delbert J. McGuire of Ardmore, Bob McGuire of Ada and Jim McGuire of Mesquite, Texas; one daughter, Joyce Bradley of Rockwall, Texas; one brother, Nathan Edwards of Washington, Okla.; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
The family has suggested that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Maud or to the Maud Nutrition Center.
Mina F. McQueen
Funeral services for longtime Seminole County resident Mina F. McQueen are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church, Wewoka with Rev. Michael Vallandingham officiating.
Interment is to follow at Little Cemetery under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
Mina Faye McQueen of Wewoka passed away Friday, Feb. 17, 2006 in Seminole. She was born May 21, 1916 in Chandler to H.M. and Grace (Bishop) Cabe.
She and her later husband "Mac" owned and operated a dairy and ranching business in Seminole County for over 40 years.
Mina attended Varnum High School and Seminole State College. She was a member of BZ P.E.O., Anthenaeum, a local garden club and bridge club. She was also an avid reader and artist.
Her husband, parents and brother, Kenneth Cabe preceded her in death.
Surviving her is daughter, Jan Flagg and George Sanderson of Wewoka; sons, Tom McQueen and Clairee and Dick McQueen and Ina Jean of Muskogee and grandchildren, Sharon McQueen Turner and Bob of Oklahoma City, Kelly McQueen and Carol of Muskogee, Lessa McQueen Alkire and Richard of Seminole, Kerri McQueen Green of Dallas, Texas, Rick McQueen and Mary Kay of Muskogee, LaDonna Fagg Sims and Roy of Seminole and Janet Fagg Herron and Mel of Oklahoma City.
In addition, great-grandchildren, Travis Smith and Wendy of Oklahoma City, Sharee Miner Stafford and Jared of Wewoka, Mark Miner of Stillwater, Chad Watson of Oklahoma City, Austin Higgs of Prague, Foster McQueen of Norman, Mitchell McQueen of Muskogee, Lyndi McQueen of Norman and Katie Beth McQueen of Muskogee; great-grandchildren, Ethan Lane Watson of Oklahoma City and Evan Hays Stafford of Wewoka; sister-in-law, Betty Cabe of Oklahoma City; brother-in-law, Morton McQueen and Irene of Wetumka and sister-in-law, Wynona McQueen of Wetumka survive her.
Pallbearers for the services will be grandsons, Rick McQueen, Kelly McQueen, Mark Miner, Chad Watson, Travis Smith and Foster McQueen. Honorary bearers will be great-grandsons, Charlie Green, Austin Higgs and Mitchell McQueen.
Richard McQueen Sr.
Funeral services for Seminole native Richard "Dick" James McQueen Sr. are set for 10 a.m. Monday, April 24, 2006, at Grandview Tabernacle in Muskogee.
Brother Don McKinney and Rev. Doyle Davis are set to officiate. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Foster-Petering Funeral Home.
McQueen was born June 9, 1933, in Seminole, along with a twin brother Thomas George McQueen, to Wilson and Mina McQueen.
After graduating from Varnum High School, McQueen attended junior college.
On Dec. 31, 1952, he married his high school sweetheart Ina Jean Richardson. Three children were born into the marriage.
McQueen was employed by Dowell Oil Company until 1959, and then he returned to Seminole to follow his father in the dairy business. He was involved with the American Mile Producer’s Association and served as President of the AMPA in 1968.
After selling the dairy farm in 1970, McQueen worked for Tiger Trucks in Seminole.
He and his wife moved to Muskogee in 1981 to start Mac Air Drilling with his son Rick, where he remained until his retirement in 1994.
McQueen was a member of Grandview Tabernacle Church.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years; three children, Sharon Turner of Oklahoma City, Lessa Alkire of Seminole, and Richard "Rick" James McQueen Jr. of Muskogee; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; his twin brother Thomas McQueen of Muskogee; sister Janice Fagg of Wewoka; as well as several nieces and nephews, in-laws and many friends.
McQueen was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers for the funeral will be Tom Morrison, Jim Morgan, Jerry Martin, Joe Buckmaster, Rick Vickers, Travis Smith, Chad Watson, and Shannon Alkire. Honorary pallbearers are Kelly McQueen, Clyde Pride, Bill Robinson, Kenneth Harbeston, and Lloyd Webster.

Matthew Meashintubby
Funeral services for Ada resident Matthew James Meashintubby are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Chapel.
Interment is to follow at Cedar River Cemetery, southwest of Holdenville, under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.
Wake services will be held on Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Meashintubby died Monday, April 24, 2006 at Carl Albert Indian Health Facility in Ada at the age of 44. He was born March 11, 1962 in Talihina to Joseph and Nellie "Killer" Meashintubby.
He was raised in Calvin and graduated from Calvin Schools in 1980. Meashintubby lived in Calvin until 1998 when he moved to Ada.
Meashintubby did odd jobs and the last several years he has employed at Southern Oklahoma Livestock Auction.
He enjoyed watching his nephews play ball, fishing, playing sports, and being with his family.
Surviving are three sisters, Lynda Simmer of Ada, Glenda Carpitcher of Konawa and Vicky Pettigrew of Ada; three brothers, Robert Meashintubby of Parsons, Kan., Douglas and Kenneth Meashintubby, both of Ada and one nephew, Kenneth Meashintubby Jr., that he raised.
Pallbearers for the services will be John Herrod, Rob Walton, Kenneth Meashintubby Jr., Harold Meashintubby, Mitchell Simmer and Steven Tebe.
Honorary bearers will be Richard Herrod, Doug Owens, Johnny Myers, Kenneth Coody, Pete Bear, Dennis Bear, Wendell Pettigrew and Daniel Simmer.
Duaine MeGee
Graveside services for former Konawa resident, Duaine Allen MeGee, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Vamoosa Cemetery with Rev. Lindell Warren officiating.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Konawa.
Duaine Allen MeGee, 66, passed from this life into eternal life on Wednesday, Nov.15, 2006 at his home in Weatherford, Okla. He was born Dec. 12, 1939 in Konawa to parents Ray E. and Sadie (O’Hagen) MeGee.
Duaine graduated from Konawa High School and later married Nancy Carol Noteware in Gainesville, Texas on April 3, 1970.
He lived in Konawa before moving to Weatherford over 27 years ago where he owned and operated "Duaine’s Auto Clinic" for many years.
Duaine was a man of few words, however, his true passion was for cars. He loved helping his son David with his racecar and enjoyed watching him race around the track.
Duaine leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 36 years, Nancy MeGee of the home; two sons, Shane Hunter of Oklahoma City and David MeGee of Weatherford; three daughters, Christy Griffin of Ridgecrest, Calif., Kimberly Slingerland of Moore and Duaina MeGee of Weatherford; one brother, Dean MeGee of Weatherford and two sisters, Betty Dooley and Judy Seigler, both of Oklahoma City; six grandchildren, Eddie Michaels, Kendra Michaels, Travis Michaels, Ashton MeGee, Jessica Slingerland and Braylee MeGee and a host of other family and friends.
Duaine is preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Sadie (O’Hagen) MeGee and by one brother, Jerell MeGee.
Casket bearers will be: Shawn Bonner, Dan Slingerland, Doug Garren, Vince Polk, Darren Seigler and Donnie Seigler.
Honorary bearers will be: Mark Dooley, Don Walton and Luther Cummins.
Duaine MeGee

MeGee, 66, died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006 at his home in Weatherford. He was born Dec. 12, 1939 in Konawa to Ray E. and Sadie (O’Hagen) MeGee.

Roscoe Owen Melton
Roscoe Owen Melton, 82, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Jan. 18, 2006, surrounded by his family.
He was born Dec. 30, 1923, in Okmulgee, to Roscoe Lee and Ruthe Elizabeth (Owen) Melton.
At an early age, Owen’s family moved to the Seminole area, where he attended school.
After graduating from Seminole High School, Owen attended the University of Oklahoma, until he was called to proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, during World War II.
Upon his honorable discharge from the Army, Owen returned to Seminole to work alongside his father in the family business of Melton Supply Co.
While in Seminole, he met and married Wynema "Nema" Chesser on Aug. 19, 1946, and together they shared more than 59 years of wonderful marriage and raised their four children, Rick, Linda, Melody and Doug, in a loving and godly home.
In the 1960s, Owen took over the daily operations of the family business, Melco Drilling & Production Co., until his retirement in 1988. In 2002, he was inducted into the Seminole Oilman’s Hall of Fame for his excellent skilled service in the industry.
An active member of his community and church, Owen was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Seminole, where he served as a deacon, Sunday School director and superintendent, and sang in the choir.
For the past three years, he was a faithful member of Southern Hills Baptist Church, where he sang in the Senior Choir and participated in the B.A.L.L. Club.
With a servant’s heart and willingness to be used in God’s kingdom, Owen also served in numerous capacities at Oklahoma Baptist University, including Chairman of the Board of Trustees, National Board of Development, Member of the President’s Council, and established the R.O. Melton Family Scholarship.
In his spare time, Owen enjoyed church and family activities, golfing and traveling.
A devoted husband, father and grandfather, Owen left an impressionable influence upon everyone he met and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
His memory will be lovingly cherished by his beloved wife, Nema, of the home; sons: Rick Melton of Palm Springs, Calif., and Dr. Douglas O. Melton and wife, Lana and their children: Drew, Zachary, Brandon and Samuel, all of Oklahoma City; daughters: Linda Yerby and husband Paul of The Woodlands, Texas, and their children: Jon Yerby and Erin Yerby and husband Daniel Barber, and Melody Melton of Tulsa; three sisters: Frances Morris and LaVonne Brown and husband Fred, all of Hobbs, N.M., and Elaine Burkhead of Norman; and a host of other loving family and friends.
Memorial donations may be made to the R.O. Melton Family Scholarship Fund at Oklahoma Baptist University, 500 W. University, Shawnee, OK, 74804.
Services to celebrate his life will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2006, at the Southern Hills Baptist Church, 8601 S. Penn.
Committal service will follow at 2 p.m., at the Little Cemetery in Little.
Services are under the direction of Vondel L. Smith & Son Mortuary, Oklahoma City.
