Funeral services for Seminole resident Lawrence Eugene Mullen are scheduled for 2 p.m., Tuesday at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating.
Mullen died on Thursday, Dec. 21, 2006 at the age of 66.
He was born on June 26, 1940 to Vernon Eugene and Lela Jo (Pritchit) Mullen in Seminole.
He graduated from Seminole High School in 1957 where he played football, basketball and was in the band.
He attended East Central State University where he majored in vocal music.
After college he taught school in Henryetta and worked for a year overseas in Nigeria, Africa.
He went on to own Mullen Tire and accessories in Norman. He retired from automotive sales in 2001.
He loved golf and bass fishing.
He is survived by son, Greg Mullen of Rockwall, Texas; stepson, Darren Able of Norman; daughters, Gayla Bowers of Rowlett, Texas, Dyan Darr of Colorado Springs, Colo.; stepdaughters, Lisa Murdaugh and Debbie Able, both of Norman, and Tommie Embretson of Houston, Texas; two brothers, David Mullen of Moore and Paul Mullen of Stillwater; and 17 grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Darren Friesen.
Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Mullen, Stone Siverston, Joseph Mullen, Darren Able, Wesley Friesen, Greg Darr, Gary Anderson, Blake Friesen Phillip Parks, Don Bowlan, and Ryan Kiesel.
Catherine E. Mullins
Catherine E. "Kay" (Harmon) Mullins, 86 year old longtime Seminole resident, peacefully passed from this life on Saturday, April 15, 2006 at her home in Seminole with her husband and son by her side.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Seminole with Rev. Tommy Clark, officiating.
Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.
Kay was born Sept. 19, 1919 in Yale, Okla. to parents, Garland E. and Rilla (Terrill) Harmon.
However, she was raised and educated in Seminole where she graduated from Seminole High School. Kay also attended a business college in Oklahoma City.
Kay had been a secretary at El Paso public schools before moving back to Seminole in 1986 to care for her mother.
She married William Irvin "Irv" Mullins on April 4, 1941 in Oklahoma City. She and her husband were very active members of the Seminole First Baptist Church and Interfaith Ministries.
Kay is survived by her husband, "Irv" Mullins of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Yvette Mullins of Katy, Texas; one brother-in-law, Hugh and his wife Virginia Mullins of Midwest City and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, one infant brother, Donnie Harmon and by five sisters-in-law.
The family wishes to express special thanks to her caregivers, Marylin Dixon and Debbie Kiser.
Kay was very kind hearted and enjoyed helping others. She goes into Heaven with our joyful farewell, knowing that one day we will meet again.
Casket bearers include, Don Gill, Don Raney, Dub Childers, Pat Stafford, Bob Lennard and Herman Ritchie.
Honorary bearers include, Fred Ellison, Glen Hugley and Robert Hammons.
William Mullins
William Irv Mullins, 90, quietly passed early on Sunday, August 27, 2007.
He was born near Purcell, Okla. on Nov. 10, 1915 to Ernest and Clytie (Costley) Mullins.
He remained in Purcell until moving to Oklahoma City to attend Business college. While there he met and married a local Seminole girl, Kay Harmon Mullins on April 4, 1941 in Oklahoma City.
Irv served in World War II advancing to captain. He was a member of the Seminole VFW. After returning home he and Kay moved to Texas where he worked numerous years for Glidden Paint Company.
He later worked in construction. He was a charter member of the Northgate Christian Church in El Paso, Texas.
When Kay’s mother, Rillia Harmon health declined they moved back to Seminole to take care of her.
Irv kept busy volunteering many years at Interfaith ministries. He and Kay were also active at the First Baptist Church, where he worked with the homebound ministries and was a greeter. The two were inseparable, always together.
Kay passed on in April 15, 2006. They are now together again.
Irv leaves behind his son Terry and wife Yvette Mullins of Katy, Texas, one brother, Hugh and wife Virginia Mullins of Midwest City, and numerous nephews, nieces and other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and five sisters.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00pm, Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Clark officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be; Richard Mullins, Mike Mullins, Robert Mantooth, Bob Leverett, Don Raney and Don Gill.
Honorary bearers will be the Doers Sunday School Class.
Pinkie Mae Murray
Funeral services for former longtime Wewoka resident Pinkie Mae Murray are scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Baptist Church with Rev. Elmer Jones to officiate.
Interment is to follow at Westwood Cemetery in Wewoka under the direction of Myers Funeral Home.
Murray, 80, of Norman, died Saturday, March 4, 2006 in Norman. She was born June 16, 1925 in Wewoka to William and Ada Blanton Foster.
She married R.D. Murray and she lived in Wewoka until 2002. Murray attended St. Joseph Baptist Church where she was a member of the Sunday school, Mission and also served as co-program chairman.
Her parents and husband preceded her in death.
Surviving are sons, Rodney Simon of Rocklin, Calif. and William J. Murray of Los Angeles, Calif.; four daughters, Juanita Beaty of Brooklyn, N.Y., Patricia Griffis of Norman, Carletha Kitt of Columbia, S.C. and Vanessa Krizman of Midwest City; one brother, William Foster Jr. of Billings, Mont.; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Kenneth ‘Kenny’ Nance
Graveside services for longtime Seminole resident Kenneth "Kenny" Eugene Nance are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Little Cemetery with J.C. Simpson to officiate.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Nance, 49 died Friday, Feb. 10, 2006 at his Seminole residence. He was born in Madera, Calif. July 3, 1956 to Robert Eugene Nance and Betty Lois (Jones) Nance.
He moved to Seminole from California 37 years ago and worked at TDK in Shawnee for many years. Later he went to work at Seminole High School and was a custodian for several years, retiring in 2003 due to his illness.
Kenny served in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge on Sept. 30, 1981. He was a member of People’s Community Church in Seminole.
Surviving are his parents, Robert and Lois Nance of Seminole; one sister and brother-in-law, Cindi and Doug Shivers of Yukon; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Duane and Sharon Nance of Tishomingo and Jeff and Naoma Nance of Seminole; 10 nieces and nephews; seven great-nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
Serving as honorary bearers will be Casey Phillips, Roger Williams, Jim Choate, Larry Harris, Allen Harris and Jim Moreland.
Cecil Narcomey
Funeral services for Bowlegs native Cecil "Fuzzy" Narcomey are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Mekusukey Baptist Church.
Rev. Dorsey Nero is to officiate with interment to follow at Tate Mountain Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Wake services are to be held at 6 p.m. tonight at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel and the body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
Narcomey, 69, died Saturday, Jan. 28, 2006 at Hillcrest Specialty Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was born in Bowlegs on July 31, 1936 to James Narcomey and Martha (Jones) Narcomey.
He graduates from Bowlegs High School and attended OSU Okmulgee Technical School.
On July 20, 1963 he married Lenora Tiger in Wewoka and worked as a mechanical draftsman for many years at Memorex-Telex in Tulsa.
Narcomey was a member of Mekusukey Baptist Church and served in the United States Army, receiving an honorable discharge on April 13, 1959. He had been a Tulsa resident since 1968.
His parents and one brother, Thomas Narcomey preceded him in death.
Surviving is his wife of the home; four sons, Michael and Donald Narcomey, both of Tulsa and James and John Narcomey of Spokane, Wash. and one brother Noah Narcomey of Aurora, Colo.
Casket bearers for the services will be Michael Narcomey, Donald Narcomey, Dewayne Tiger, Reo Miller, Mickey Davis, Leon Lusty, Mark Revas and Robert Woods.
Philip R. Narcomey
Funeral services for Seminole native Philip R. Narcomey are scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday at Comanche Reformed Church with Rev. Charles Spencer officiating.
A prayer service is scheduled for 7 p.m. tonight at Comanche Nation Funeral Home, Lawton.
Burial will follow services at Comanche (Otipoby) Cemetery at Ft. Sill under the direction of Comanche Nation Funeral Home.
Philip Narcomey passed away Sunday, July 23, 2006 at Duncan Regional Hospital. He was born in Seminole on July 23, 1921 to Pete and Rose (Hayeha) Narcomey.
He attended school at Mekusukey Mission, a Seminole Tribal school; Chilocco Indian School and joined the Wewoka National Guard.
Philip was with the 45th Infantry Division throughout World War II, the Italian Campaign during the invasion of Italy, the European Theater of War, landed in Omaha Beach and went in to Normandy, then to Metz, the Battle of the Bulge, was with units that liberated two POW concentration camps, Dachau and Alachs.
He was wounded in both knees, stomach and head.
Upon discharge from the Army in 1945, he was employed with the Civil Service at Ft. Sill and joined the National Guard in 1948. He was activated to serve in the Korean Conflict, serving in Hikkaido, Japan and returned to Civil Service in 1951.
Philip’s decorations and citations include the Silver Star; Bronze Star; Purple Heart (with two oak leaf clusters); European, African, Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon (with six Battle Stars); Good Conduct; three Overseas Bars (18 months); American defense; WWII Victory; and the Occupational Medal – Japan.
He retired in 1985 with over 41 years in Civil Service, including military.
Philip served on various boards; Great Plains Community Action, member of the Oklahoma for Indian Opportunity Loan Committee in the Southwest District, Lawton Treatment Center Comanche Reformed Church Consistory and Chairman of the Comanche (Otipoby) Cemetery Committee.
It was stated in the Ft. Sill newspaper in 1987 "Narcomey’s credentials as an Indian activist were impressive".
His hobbies included hunting, fishing, historical photo preservation and photography.
His parents, two sisters and nine brothers preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys, of the home; two sons, Clyde and wife, Claudette, of Elgin and Thomas of the home; one daughter, Phyllis of Temple, Texas; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a host of nephews, nieces and cousins; one sister, Wisey Narcomey of Seminole and one brother, William of Ogden, Utah.
