Catherine Phillips

Funeral services for longtime Wewoka resident, Catherine Phillips, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday at Myers Funeral Chapel, Wewoka with Rev. L. Byrd officiating.

Interment is to follow at Lima Cemetery under the direction of Myers Funeral Home.

Phillips, 79, died Sunday, Nov. 5, 2006 at Elwood Nursing Home, Wewoka. She was born Feb. 2, 1927 in Mississippi.

She moved to Wewoka in her earlier years of life.

Her husband, Sylvester Phillips, and the mother who raised her, Estelle Moseley, preceded her in death.

Surviving are three sisters, Mary Helen Cousins of Shiloh, Ill., Maggie Hardin of Wewoka and Irene Nichols of Oklahoma City and five grandchildren.

Wandalene Phillips

Funeral services for Earlsboro resident, Wandalene Lucil Phillips, were held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Earlsboro Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Donnie LeForce and Rev. Raymond Coates officiating.

Interment followed at Little Cemetery under the direction of Williamson Funeral Home, Wetumka.

Phillips, four-months-old, died Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2006 in Seminole. She was born July 20, 2006 in Shawnee to Jason Glenn and Artyle Don (LeForce) Phillips.

Her maternal great-grandmother, Artie King; paternal great-grandmother, Wandalene Phillips and great-grandparents, DeWayne and Diana peace preceded her in death.

Surviving are her parents of Earlsboro; sister, Destiny Phillips of the home; paternal grandmother, Donna Phillips and Stephen Birdwell of Seminole; paternal grandfather, Ricky Phillips and wife Kris of Cromwell and maternal grandparents, Don and Goldie LeForce of Earlsboro.

Wandalene Phillips

Funeral services for Wandalene Phillips, 68, of Seminole will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2006, at the Bowlegs Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Roy Robertson officiating.

Phillips died Sunday, Feb. 5, 2006, in Seminole. She had lived in Seminole all her life.

She was born Sept. 4, 1937, in Seminole to William Harvey Bruce and Selma Beatrice (Bishop) Bruce.

Phillips was a cook in several cafes, including Pat’s Café and Granny Fern’s.

She was active in church as a Sunday school teacher and song leader and was a current member of Bowlegs Assembly of God Church.

Phillips was preceded in death by three brothers and one great-grandchild.

Survivors include two sons, Justin Lowell Phillips of Oklahoma City and Ricky Glenn Phillips of Cromwell; one brother, Larry Dean Bruce of Seminole; two sisters, Carolyn Joy Boatman of Moore and Barbara Pauline Martin of Seminole; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Interment will follow funeral services at Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.

Eileen Pilz

Funeral Services for Wewoka native Eileen Nicholson Pilz were held on March 27 at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa.

Pastor Wade Hodges of the Garnett Church of Christ officiated the services.

Pilz passed away Thursday, March 23, 2006. She was born to Bill and Clara Nicholson on Dec. 27, 1922 in Wewoka.

Pilz graduated from the Oklahoma College for Women.

She married Bernard C. Pilz on June 14, 1945 and they recently had celebrated their 60th anniversary. The couple had four children.

Pilz was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. She was a homemaker and devoted her life to her family.

When her children were raised, she went to work as a social worker for the State of Oklahoma in Tulsa, until she retired after 16 years of service.

Pilz and her husband enjoyed their retirement by RVing with their friends and family and volunteering at the Garnett Church of Christ stocking and dispersing at the food bank with their care group.

She was an accomplished china painter who loved to paint birds and angels and gave many of these to her friends and family.

Pilz was preceded in death by one daughter, Ann Kathleen Pilz; one son, Bruce Pilz; her parents; and one brother, Bill Nicholson Jr.

She is survived by her husband, Bernard, of the home; children Elaine Pilz, Grand Junction, Colo., and Mark Pilz, Valencia, Calif.; one sister, Mary Nicholson Thomas, Wewoka; and one grandson.

Ruth Pipkin

Graveside funeral services for Ruth E. Amis Pipkin are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Little Cemetery.

Rev. Sharon Capron will officiate.

Burial will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Prague.

Pipkin died Sunday, July 9, 2006, in Oklahoma City at the age of 95.

She was born June 23, 1911, in Shawnee to William and Lottie (Stone) Amis.

She was a longtime Seminole resident, working for many years as a bookkeeper for Canadian Valley Electric Cooperative.

She married James William Pipkin in Seminole in 1930; he preceded her in death, as did her parents, three brothers and a sister.

Survivors include two sons, William A. Pipkin, Oklahoma City, and James Barry Pipkin, Joplin, Mo.; one brother, Buddy Amis, Fort Worth, Texas; eight grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

William Cecil Pippin

Funeral services for former Seminole resident William Cecil Pippin are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at the Cumming (Ga.) Baptist Church. Rev. Mark Harrison officiating.

The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Friday from 9 a.m. till time of service. Ingram Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

William Cecil Pippin, 86, of Cumming, Georgia died Monday, February 13, 2006.

He was a United States Army veteran having served in the Pacific theater during World War II.

Mr. Pippin graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1954 with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and was a member of the Oklahoma State Board of Professional Engineers.

He retired in 1982 after service for the U. S. Air Force at Tinker AFB as a civilian engineer.

Ordained a Baptist deacon in Oklahoma, Mr. Pippin was an active member of the Cumming Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife Ommie of Cumming, Ga.; daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Rick Forrester of Big Canoe, Ga.; two grandchildren, Sherri Courtney of Massachusetts and Angela Jones of Big Canoe, Ga. and five great grandchildren, Mary Ann and Michelle Courtney, and Abigail, Maggie, and Matthew Jones.

Three brothers, Lee and Ralph Pippin of Seminole and Lloyd Pippin of Amarillo, Texas and one sister, Bernice Lindsay of Marlow, Okla., also survive him.

One sister, Edith Conway of Tulsa preceded him in death.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Cumming Baptist Church Building Fund, P. O. Box 155, Cumming, Georgia 30028.

William Plank

The son of former Seminole resident Anna Mae (Tapley) Plank died June 3 in Tucson, Ariz.

He was born March 6, 1930 to his mother and Samuel Plank.

Plank was a photographer in the Air Force. After retiring, he had his own business called Freelance Photography for 25 years.

Plank was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Richard Allan Plank, and stepfather Guy Rhodes.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Plank, a brother Robert Plank of Oklahoma, daughter Kelly Reed, stepsons William, Giles, and Russell Jones, three grandchildren and seven step grandchildren.

The services were under the direction of Heather Mortuary in Tucson, Ariz.

Edith Plemons

Graveside services for Seminole native and former resident Edith Oleta Plemons were held today at 3:30 p.m. at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Watonga with Rev. David Johnson officiating.

Services are under the direction of Wilkinson Mortuary of Watonga.

Plemons, 89 of Watonga, died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2006. She was born Oct. 11, 1916 in Seminole to Eugene and Maida Northcott.

She attended Bowlegs Schools and the First Baptist Church in Bowlegs. She moved to Watonga in 1987.

In 1934 she married Loyal Felton Plemons in Snomac, Okla. She enjoyed taking care of her family.

Her parents, her husband and five brothers preceded her in death.

Surviving is one son, Dr. Terry Plemons of Austin, Texas; two daughters, Carol Richardson Morris of Tulsa and Deborah Coleman of Memphis, Tenn.; four sisters, Francis Melton, Norma Jean Rice, Joy Stephens and Pat Ward; eight grandchildren, none great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Gabriell Plotner

Graveside service for the infant daughter of Russell Plotner and Monica Williams of Shawnee are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at brown Cemetery with Crockett Wood officiating.

Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh is in charge of the arrangements.

Gabriell Michelle Williams Plotner died Thursday, Jan. 19, 2006 in Oklahoma City. She was born Jan. 18, 2006 in Oklahoma City.

Surviving are her parents; sisters, Trinity Alexis Plotner of Shawnee and Desiree Atkinson of Seminole; brother, Benjamin Ovalby of Seminole; grandparents, Don and Nancy Plumley of Shawnee, Kathleen Williams and Crockett Wood of Weleetka and Jimmy Williams of Taft and great-grandparents Joyce McCoy and Bob Carr of McLoud.

In lieu of flowers, the family has set up a trust fund in Gabriell’s name at BancFirst.

Patty Plunk

Funeral services for former Seminole County resident Patty Sue Plunk are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home in Tuscola, Ill. with Rev. Jayson Garcia officiating.

Burial will take place in Tuscola Township Cemetery under the direction of Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home.

Plunk, 68 of Tuscola, Ill., died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2006 at the Tuscola Health Care Center. She was born Jan. 27, 1938 in Gerty, Okla. to Vasser and Stella Stallings.

She grew up in and around Seminole County and Oklahoma and married William Dale Plunk and he preceded her in death in 1988.

Plunk worked for a bakery at the Tuscola IGA and raised their family in Tuscola, Ill.

Her parents; son, Tommy Dale "Bud" Plunk; three brothers; two sisters and one granddaughter preceded her in death.

Surviving are two daughters, Cynthia Sue Ward of Harrisburg, Ill. and Lawana Lynn "Cis" Sigler of Tuscola; two sisters, Peggy Peterson of Rogers, Ark. and Wynemia Ferguson of Anaheim, Calif.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
