Sherrie Lynn Riley

Funeral services for Earlsboro resident Sherrie Lynn (Davis) Riley were held at 12 p.m. Monday at Johnson Church of God with Charles Higgins, Donna Morton and Donnie Knight officiating.

Interment was held at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Riley, 34, died Thursday, March 2, 2006 in Earlsboro. She was born Jan. 2, 1972 in Shawnee to Howard Dwayne Davis and Helen Ruth (Smith) Bales.

She grew up in Shawnee and Sallisaw, and had lived in Earlsboro for many years. Riley attended Sallisaw High School and married Keith Riley on Sept. 1, 2001 in Shawnee.

Riley worked as a job coach in the nursing home industry before becoming a purchasing agent for TTK Construction of Edmond in 1998.

She enjoyed raising horses, and spent her spare time boating, camping, fishing and working crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Her grandparents, Dele and Dorothy Davis and Wiley Smith and her stepfather, Claid Bales, preceded her in death.

Surviving is her husband Keith of the home; son James Ross of Shawnee; three stepchildren, Kendra Riley and Kurtis Riley, both of Wheatland and Cordell Riley of Bethany; three grandsons; mother, Ruth Bales of Meeker; father and stepmother, Howard and Sandy Davis of Shawnee; two brothers, Howard Dwayne Davis of Meeker and Christopher Brown Davis of Shawnee and grandmother, Letha Smith of Meeker.

Lenora Ring

Funeral services for longtime Seminole resident Lenora Ring are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Friday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel with Pastor Doyle Long officiating.

Interment will follow at Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Lenora Ring passed away, Monday, Aug. 7, 2006 at the age of 86. She was one of 12 children born to Thomas and Edna (Phillips) Dotson on March 3, 1920 in Youngstown, Oklahoma.

Lenora married Truman Ring on Oct. 8, 1936 in Seminole. She was a waitress at Pat's Cafe for many years, as well as an Avon Representative for over 35 years.

She was a member of the First Assembly of God in Seminole and a former Rebecca's member.

Lenora was a good Christian lady and looked forward to her "going home."

Surviving are four daughters and sons-in-law, Phyllis Bennett of Oklahoma City, Carol Blair of Courtside, Ariz., Pat and John Smith of Bowlegs and Nora and Kagle Grandstaff of Seminole and one sister, Florene Short of Casper, Wyo.

She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, Renee Bennett, Darrel Bennett, Cheryl Rushing, Jeannia Angeles, Jimmy Blair, Teresa Hasbell, Starla Burns, Angel O'Brien, Hershel Ring Jr., Todd Ring, Travis Ring, Rick Smith, Johnny Grandstaff, Nathan Grandstaff and Steve Grandstaff; 29 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great grandchildren.

Her parents; husband, Truman Ring in 1992; son, Hershel Ring; grandson, Randy Smith, and two sons-in-law; J.P. Bennett and Bill Blair preceded her in death.

Pallbearers for the services will be grandsons, Johnny Grandstaff, Steve Grandstaff, Darrel Bennett, Rick Smith, Rick Smith Jr., and Jimmy Blair.

Linzy Lee Rivers

Funeral services for Tecumseh resident Linzy Lee Rivers are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday with Brother James Whitley to officiate at Swearingen Funeral Chapel, Seminole.

Interment is to follow at Earlsboro Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Rivers, 75, passed from this life on Friday, March 10, 2006 at Solara Unity South Hospital in Shawnee. He was born Feb. 12, 1931 in Hotulka, Okla. to Willie Lee Rivers and Lillian N. (Thompson) Rivers.

He attended Dunbar High School in Shawnee and was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness in Shawnee. Rivers married Letha Napoleon on March 13, 1952 in Shawnee.

Mr. Rivers worked at Barton Valve in Shawnee for 35 years.

His parents, one sister, Grace Woodfork and three brothers, M.B. Rivers, Reuben Rivers and Dewey Rivers preceded him in death.

Surviving is his wife of the home; one son, Leonard Lee Rivers of Shawnee; three daughters, Velma Carr of Tecumseh, Vanessa Alexander of Shawnee and Veada Capas of Shawnee; two brothers, Robert Rivers and Willie Rivers, both of Oklahoma City and five sisters, Mae Lee Hill of Stockton, Calif., Berniece Paysinger of El Cerrito, Calif., Anesa Woodfork of Los Angeles, Calif., Thelma Jackson of Shawnee and Vera Beale of Valero, Calif.

In addition, four grandchildren, Shana Alexander, Robert Ervin, Arsenio Carr and Shawn Alexander; one great-grandson, Greg Rion Leshore and a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends survive him.

Phillip Roberson

Graveside services for Phillip Roberson are scheduled for 1 p.m. at Dale Cemetery on with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating.

Phillip Roberson passed away on Nov. 22, 2006 in Oklahoma City after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Shawnee on July 17, 1952 to Dwight and Charlene Roberson.

He graduated from Seminole High School in 1970. After graduating from high school he served in the United States Army during Vietnam as a Specialist 4.

After being discharged from the US Army he served in the Oklahoma National Guard from 1972-1973.

He attended Seminole Junior College and then attended Oklahoma State University where he earned a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management in 1977. He worked in the restaurant industry for many years.

He was a loving son, brother and uncle. He was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

His parents, Dwight and Charlene Roberson of Seminole; sister, Donna Hilton of Oklahoma City and nephew Robert Roberson of Oklahoma City preceded him in death.

He is survived by one brother, Melvin Roberson and wife Glenda of Harrah; two sisters, Patricia Phillips of Ada and Jennifer Keefer and husband Jack of Norman; four nieces, three nephews and four great nephews.

Rosie Lee Roberts

Funeral services for Wewoka resident Rosie Lee Roberts are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment is to follow at Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Donnie Knight officiating.

Services are under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.

Roberts, age 61, died Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at the Wewoka Nursing Home after a long battle with cancer. She was born Oct. 14, 1944 in Tonkawa to Orin and Mary (barber) Hall.

On Sept. 4, 1976 she married Richard Roberts in Geary. She worked as a nurse’s aide at Okeene Nursing Home for a number of years.

Her parents and one brother, O.V. Hall preceded her in death.

Surviving is her husband, Richard of Wewoka; four children, Lisa Persinger of Holdenville, Tina Sirmon and Luean Wallmitz, and Christopher Lee Allen, all of Geary and three grandchildren.

Thelma Roberts

Funeral services for Seminole native Thelma Odessa Roberts are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel, Seminole.

Interment is to follow at Maple Grove Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Thelma Odessa (Earles) Roberts, 91-year-old life long Seminole resident passed from this life Sunday, Aug. 20, 2006 at Seminole Estates Care Center in Seminole. She was born Aug. 14, 1915 in Seminole to Willie Harvey Earles and Ola May (Minick) Earles.

Mrs. Roberts was a member of the First Assembly of God. She was a beauty operator where she owned and operated Vanity Beauty Shop in Seminole.

She is survived by her brother, Pete Earles of Durant, Okla.; son, Benny Roberts of Talala, Okla.; daughter, Nelda Robertson of Seminole; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Carol Roberts of Noble and son-in-law, Charles Sisk of Oklahoma City.

In addition surviving are her grandchildren, Chris and Lorry Roberts of Owasso, Deanna and Rusty Truelove of Oklahoma City, Robert Sisk of Yukon, Ricky and Christy Robertson of Lafayette, Ind., Shane and Kerry Robertson of Seminole, Travis and Londa Robertson of Shawnee, Brent and Corrie Roberts of Fort Worth, Texas and Becky Roberts of Noble; great-grandchildren, Jeremy and Zachary Truelove, Sophie and Spencer Roberts, Brock and Sienna Robertson, Jake Blalock, Tyler Bierd, Andrew, Gage and Addison Robertson and Brendle Roberts and three great-great grandchildren.

Marie Robertson

Funeral services for Seminole resident Marie Robertson are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at First Assembly of God Church in Bowlegs.

Rev. Roy Robertson and Dr. Jack Medlock will officiate the funeral services and Re. Doyle Long will officiate the interment at Wolf Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Robertson, 83, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2006 in Seminole. She was born May 31, 1922 in Robert Lee, Texas to Johnny Seaman Meek and Nancy Frances (Luellen) Meek.

Marie married Rev. Roy H. Robertson, Sr. on June 2, 1940 in Punkin Center, Okla. and has been a Seminole resident since 1966, having moved from Macomb.

She was a homemaker and pastor’s wife. For many years her husband pastured at Ferguson, Pickens, Alpinepass, Ark., Dustin, Macomb, Little and Jarvis.

Marie was a member of the Seminole Assembly of God Church. .

Her parents; husband (March 30, 1988); infant daughter (1940); son, David (1996); two brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.

Surviving her are two sons, Rev. Roy Robertson Jr. and wife Delores of Bowlegs and Ronnie Robertson and wife Cindy of Seminole; two daughters, Colleen Medlock and husband Jack and Anne Martin, both of Seminole; daughter-in-law, Angela Robertson of Tahlequah; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Willie Mae Robertson

Graveside services for lifelong Maud resident Willie Mae Robertson are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Friday at Wolf Cemetery with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating.

Services are under the direction of Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home, Maud.

Robertson, 91, died Monday, July 17, 2006 at Seminole Medical Center. She was born June 1, 1915 in Alabama to Melinda Julie (Smith) Robertson and Jessie Jarett Robertson.

She moved to the Maud area at the age of 10 and married John J. Robertson on Feb. 28, 1936 in Seminole.

Robertson was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Maud. She enjoyed playing the keyboard, piano and drums with local country musicians who performed "real" country music.

Her parents and three sons, Jimmy Ray Robertson (1945), Jack Robertson (1976) and Max Robertson (1998) preceded her in death.

Surviving is her husband, John J. Robertson of the home; daughter, Rose L. Reich of Maud; one sister, Faye Higgs of Odessa, Texas; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Frank Robinson

Funeral services for Holdenville resident Frank Wesley Robinson are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Holdenville Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Rev. Jerry Orsburn and Rev. Rick Maldron are to officiate. Interment is to follow services at the Glory-Bilby Cemetery under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.

Robinson, 66, died Sunday, March 12, 2006 in Holdenville. He was born on Feb. 25, 1940 in Causey, N.M. to James and Viola (Netzel) Robinson.

He grew up in New Mexico and after school he joined the United States Navy, where he was a seaman for six years. During this time he fought in the Korean War and then was honorably discharged.

Robinson moved to Horntown, Okla. following his service and married Donna Cross on Feb. 13, 1981.

The couple then moved to Spaulding where he worked as a self-employed house mover and house floor leveler. In his spare time he enjoyed coon hunting, and noodling at Little River and Bird Creek.

He liked gardening and has won numerous competitions with his prized coon dogs.

His parents and one daughter, Miranda preceded him in death.

Surviving is his wife of the home; three daughters, Sherry Hunter and Frankie Vallincourt, both of Red Rock, Texas and Sally Epperson of Washington; two stepdaughters, April Tucker and Crystal Orsburn, both of Holdenville; four stepsons, Stanley Whitlock of Seminole, Dennis Whitlock of Bismark, Ark., Danny Whitlock of Holdenville and Jimmie Whitlock of Wewoka; 20 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

In addition, he has three brothers, Kermit Robinson, Alan Robinson and Ronnie Robertson and two sisters, Rose Davis and Louis Gregory who survive him.
