Dennis Lee Roesler

Funeral Services for Dennis Lee Roesler are scheduled for, 10:30 a.m., Friday at The First United Methodist Church in Seminole.

Rev. Gary Wilburn will be officiating the service. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole, under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Dennis Roesler, a long time leader of Seminole went to be with the Lord on, Monday, Jan. 30, 2006 at his home in Seminole.

He was born on March 16, 1934 in Wilcox, Neb. to Edwin H. and Helen Marie (Yeck) Roesler.

His father in 1996, his mother in 2004 and his brother, Larry Dean Roesler in 1994, precedes him in death.

Roesler’s family moved to Seminole in the 30’s and he attended Seminole schools graduating from Seminole High School in 1952.

He attended and graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1957 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He began his first position as an aeronautical design engineer with General Dynamics in Fort Worth, Texas immediately upon graduation.

Dennis married Leilani Annette Norman on June 8, 1964 at Connell Baptist Church in Ft. Worth, Texas. To that union was born one son, Steven Layne Roesler.

They moved to Georgia and California, as the demand for engineers in the large aeronautical plants was plentiful.

In 1971 the family moved to Seminole where Dennis built the Vend-A-Wash Car Wash and began his position as Director of Public Works for the City of Seminole.

He retired at the age of 54 from the city and spent his retirement enjoying his family, attending all the Oklahoma State University football and basketball games, fishing, and camping. He had special interest in investing and philanthropy.

Roesler was a member of the Kiwanis Club in the earlier years and had been a member of the Seminole Bass Club since 1975. He served in all the capacities of that club, ending his last term in 2005 as treasurer.

He enjoyed especially the Kiddies Tournament sponsored by the club each year when he had the pleasure of teaching his oldest granddaughter, Ashley to fish.

Dennis was a 2005 inductee in to the Seminole State College Hall of Fame and has facilities named in his honor at the college and at Jasmine Moran Children’s Museum.

In addition, he is a member of the First United Methodist Church of Seminole.

He is survived by his wife, Leilani, of the home; his son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Sue Roesler; two granddaughters, Ashley Nicole and Meghan Elizabeth Roesler all of McKinney, Texas; cousins Gordan Rowley of Wisconsin and Jan Reynolds of Norman.

The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to either the American Cancer Society or to the donor’s local church.

Betty Rogers

Funeral services for former Seminole resident and business owner, Betty J. Rogers were held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John V. Chennault, pastor of the First Baptist Church officiated.

Burial was held at Little Cemetery under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home, El Reno.

Rogers, 79, of El Reno, died Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2006 in Park View Hospital. She was born on Aug. 24, 1926 in Stroud to Cecil and Mary C. (Holt) Hill.

She had lived in Stroud and Seminole before moving to Nashville, Tenn. in 1984. Betty moved to El Reno in 1991, where she had resided ever since.

Betty had worked as a waitress and was the former owner/operator of the Union Bus Station Café in Seminole. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

Her parents; one sister, Lois Voegle; two brothers, Billy Hill and Raymond Hill and one son, Jimmy Lewis all preceded her in death.

Survivors include one daughter, Pamela Lee and husband Gary of Portland, Tenn.; brother, Jack Hill and wife Belva of Tulsa; two sisters-in-law, Mary Hill of El Reno and Mamie Hill of Seminole; two grandsons, Matthew and Marshall Thurman, both of Portland, Tenn.; numerous nieces and nephews and other friends and relatives and friends.

Ilda Romans

A memorial service has been scheduled for former Wewoka resident Ilda "Jeannie" Yarbrough Romans for 2 p.m. Sunday at Tate Mt. Cemetery in Wewoka. Pastor Russell Ryker is to officiate.

Romans died at her Denison, Texas residence following a long fight with cancer.

Her father, Charlie (C.G.) Yarbrough and sisters, Louetta Northcott, Cleo Baxley and Linda Smith preceded her in death.

Surviving is her husband, Richard Romans of Denison, Texas; one daughter, Kimberly Hull of Denison; three stepchildren, Richie Romans, Wesley Romans and Ashley Romans, all of Denison; seven grandchildren; her mother, Ruby Demings of Denison; sisters, Pat Brock of Denison, Bobbie Bobbitt of Durant, Okla. and Roberta McMenamy of Kemp, Okla. and brother, Monte Yarbrough of Denison.

Brinda Ross

Funeral services for Brinda Calhoun Ross are scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday at Holdenville Pentecostal Holiness Church with interment in Holdenville Cemetery.

Services are under the direction of Mercer-Adams Funeral Service, Bethany.

Ross, 63, died Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2006. She was born Nov. 26, 1942 in Wetumka to Willard and Lola Jane (White) Calhoun.

She was a public school teacher and an ordained minister in the International Pentecostal Holiness Church.

She held a master’s in counseling and was a published author.

Her parents preceded her in death.

Surviving is her husband, David Ross of Bethany; three brothers, Charles, Randy and Byron Calhoun and five sisters, Betty Quisenberry, Ginger Calhoun, Regina Downing, Ava Aery and Noel Calhoun.

Lori Gail Rubottom

Funeral services for Wewoka resident Lori Gail Rubottom will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, Wewoka.

Rev. Michael Vallandingham will officiate and interment to follow at Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.

Lori Gail Rubottom passed from this life to begin a new life with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Wednesday, June 21, 2006 at the age of 26.

Lori was reared in Sasakwa by her loving parents, Donnie and Norma (Williams) Blankenship, along with her loving big brother David.

At a young age she touched the lives of young and old alike. Lori was known for her big beautiful smile, sparkling blue eyes, and her zest for life.

Lori attended Holdenville Public Schools, where she graduated in 1999.

Upon graduation she met and married the love of her life, Christopher Shawn Rubottom.

Her love of children began her career in childcare and led her to attend Seminole State College where she was a student at the time of her death.

She received her certificate for Child Development and was employed at Keiki Lani Daycare in Wewoka.

She also loved reading; camping, and taking long walks with her husband Chris.

Lori’s love of life touched many and she will remain forever young in our heart and minds. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Lori was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Wilburn Williams; paternal grandparents, Thomas Jr. and Georgia Blakenship and aunt, Linda Lance.

She is survived by her husband, Chris Rubottom of Wewoka; parents, Donnie and Norma Blankenship of Sasakwa; brother and sister-in-law, David and Kim Blankenship of Wewoka; aunts and uncles, Charlotte and Stewart Johnson of Ada, Jackie and Wayne Clifton of Sasakwa, Jackey and Debra Blankenship of Holdenville, Vicki Sweeden, and Mike Williams, both of Sasakwa; father and mother-in-law, Roy and Barbara Rubottom, Wewoka; brother and sisters-in-law, Brian and Toni Orsburn and Tracy Leniger, all of Holdenville; nieces and nephews, Amy Blankenship of Ada, Landon, Kaily, and Dakota Blankenship of Wewoka, Autumn Orsburn of Holdenville and Uriah and Lynsey Yahola, of Holdenville and a host of other relatives and friends.

Claude Sachse

Graveside services with full military honors are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday for longtime Seminole resident Claude Henry Sachse at Little Cemetery with Rusty Dawson to officiate.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Sachse, 87, died Tuesday, June 13, 2006 at Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was born Dec. 5, 1918 in Shawnee to Bettie (Osborn) and Julius Sachse.

He graduated from Dale High School and joined "Civilian Conservation Corps" (C.C.C.).

Then he joined the Army Air Corps, later to be known as the United States Air Force, continuing to serve his country for 22 years, earning the rank of senior master sergeant, serving in the Pacific Theater during World War II.

On Nov. 19, 1945 he married Opal Gillit in San Angelo, Texas.

After his military service he owned and operated "Claude’s Auto Salvage" in Seminole until his retirement.

His parents; wife Opal (Nov. 20, 1988) and three brothers, Frank, Leonard and Herbert Sachse preceded him in death.

Surviving are twin sons, Ron and Don Sachse, both of Seminole; daughter, Joyce Barrett of Bastrop, Texas; one sister, Ruth Goodnight of Porterville, Calif.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mary Ellen Sanders

Funeral services for longtime Seminole County resident Mary Ellen sanders are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church in Cromwell and officiated by Rev. Carl Whitfield.

Interment is to follow at Little Cemetery under the direction of Parks brothers Funeral Home, Okemah.

Sanders, 69, died Friday, Sept. 15, 2006 in Shawnee. She was born Dec. 18, 1936 in Seminole County.

She worked for many years for the Lee and Russell Sewing Plant in Wewoka and also for the Perryman Sand and Gravel pit for approximately 12 years.

On Jan. 6, 1967 she married Lloyd Sanders. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and especially fishing.

Her parents and two brothers, Raymond Wayne and Joe Robinson preceded her in death.

Surviving is her husband of 39 years, Lloyd sanders of Cromwell; two sons, Damon Sanders of Weldona, Colo. and Terry Sanders of Cromwell; two daughters, Cecilia Ann Shannon of Okemah and Sherry Smith of Cromwell; two brothers, Bev Robinson of San Antonio, Texas and Dal Robinson of Cromwell; one sister, Nancy Dinwiddie of Seminole and 11 grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be Randy Badgett, R.B. Badgett, Clarence Romine, Bill Witham, Bill Fox and Dale Sanders.

Honorary bearers will be Bill Moore, Floyd Sanders, Chub Sanders, Paul Borque, Richard Robinson, Ricky Kennedy, Gerald Glenn and Bill Stevens.

Nova Sanders

Graveside services for lifelong Cromwell resident Nova Marie Sanders are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Oakwood Cemetery.

Rev. Dennis Yeubanks is to officiate with arrangements under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Sanders, 63 died Friday, Jan. 27, 2006 at her residence in Cromwell. She was born March 4, 1941 in Okemah to Gipson "Shorty" Smith and Thelma (Douglas) Smith.

She married Alvie Sanders on Sept. 5, 1959 in Wewoka and was a homemaker of the Holiness faith.

Her parents, one son Alan Sanders (February 1963) and one sister, Mary Waybourn preceded her in death.

Surviving is her husband of the home; two sons, Mark G. Sanders of Cromwell and Jason T. Sanders of Aurora, Colo.; one brother, Jimmy Don Smith of Cromwell; one sister, Leona Wilbanks of Eufaula and six grandchildren.
