Funeral services for former Seminole businessman Theodore William "Ted" Schulze are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel.
Rev. Lynn Borrego is to officiate with interment to follow at Maple Grove Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.
Ted passed away Friday, May 19, 2006 at the age of 55. He was born Dec. 14, 1950 in Cushing to James Edward and Elsa Lavon (Meyers) Schulze.
He worked for over 15 years for Elsworth Motor Freight as a troubleshooter and terminal manager in Oklahoma and Texas. Ted had worked through the company’s transition to Tri-max.
Currently he worked for Oklahoma Reload. He has also owned his own acidizing company called Keystone Acidizing Co. in Manford, Okla.
While in Seminole he managed the movie theater and the Skyway drive-in, he was also active in Boy Scouts and a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.
His father, Jim Schulze preceded him in death.
He is survived by his mother, Lavon Schulze of Seminole; former wife, Pam Thompson of Tecumseh; son, Steve Schulze of Goldsby, Okla.; daughter, Melissa Schulze of Tecumseh; brother, Cliff Schulze of Oklahoma City and three grandchildren, Selah Donaldson, Bethany Donaldson and Colton Baldwin.
J. Wendell Scott
A memorial service for longtime Seminole resident, J. Wendell Scott, is scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at the Swearingen Funeral Chapel with Terry Newell, Pascal Bevans and Randy Beauford officiating.
‘The Cowboy Rides Away", Scott passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2006 at the age of 86. He was born on July 4, 1920 in Rattan, Okla. to Carl William and Ida Mae (Brinlee) Scott.
He married Aly`ce M. Elisabeth (Green) Scott on June 22, 1961 in Shawnee and was a longtime Seminole area rancher and ran a dairy farm for many years.
He owned and operated Seminole Packing Company with his brother until 1963. Scott was a former president for the Seminole Roundup Club, Strother School Board member for 12 years, a 32-degree mason, and a lifelong member of the Seminole Masonic Lodge where he received his 50-year pin.
He served during World War II in the United States Army where he was a Tech-5 in the 879th Ordnance Company.
While there, he received the Good Conduct medal, Victory ribbon, American Theater ribbon, APT ribbon and the Meritorious Unit award.
Surviving is his beloved wife of 45 years, Aly`ce of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Laura Susan (Scott) and Kevin Kincade of Seminole; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Penny Veitenheimer of Cromwell; daughter, Sheri S. Criswell of Oklahoma City; sister and brother-in-law, Lueetta (Scott) and Amel Darr of Seminole.
Seven grandchildren, Kendell Kincade, Khanaa Kincade, Khara Elisabeth Suzanne Criswell, Glendon Gouker, Kyle Gouker, Bobbi Vincent and Billi Wright and six great grandchildren survive him.
Also surviving are a host of nephews, nieces, including a very special niece, Theresa Patterson of Shawnee, many other family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother J.C. Scott.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations may be made in memory of J. Wendell Scott to the Strother School Scholarship Fund, 36085 EW 1140, Seminole, OK 74868.
Reba Scott
A memorial service for former Wewoka resident Reba Jo Tipton Scott is scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home, Wewoka.
Scott died at the age of 93. She was born Feb. 26, 1913. She was a homemaker.
Her first husband and father of her children, R.B. Tipton; he second husband, W.L. Scott; son, Larry V. Tipton and three granddaughters preceded her in death.
Surviving are two daughters, Donna Strickland and Nelda Kibby; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The family has suggested that memorials may be sent to Regional Care Hospice, 1710 E. 32nd, Suite E-1, Joplin, MO 64804.
Wanda Self
Funeral services for Wewoka resident Wanda Joyce Self are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at New Life Church, Wewoka with Bro. James Shaffer officiating.
Interment is to follow at Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
Self, 77, died Monday, Sept. 11, 2006 in Shawnee. She was born June 26, 1929 to Leo and Captallo (Dryden) Vigus.
She married Garland Self on March 16, 1951 in Wewoka.
Her parents, brother Raymond and sister Velta preceded her in death.
Surviving is her husband, Garland "Chick" Self of Wewoka; son, Leo James Self of Wewoka; four sisters, Mildred Lunstrum of Hutchinson, Kan., Meldiese Vigus, Reba Vigus and Lanell Vigus, all of Bakersfield, Calif.; three brothers, Dorain Vigus of Redding, Calif., Craig Vigus of Bakersfield, Calif. and Eddie Vigus of Victoria, Texas; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Brandi Evans Sester
There will be a celebration of the life of Brandi Evans Sester at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Bagglery Funeral Home in Edmond.
Burial services will follow at the Memorial Road Cemetery.
Brandi passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2006 after a valiant fight with cancer, surrounded be her loving family and husband in Maryland.
She was born in Englewood, Colo. on Sept. 17, 1980 to Dennis and Julie Evans. She moved with her family to Edmond in 1990.
Brandi graduated from Edmond Memorial High School in 1998 and has worked at the Neonatal ICU at Integris Baptist hospital since 2001.
She was the happiest when she was among family and friends and participated in more things in her short life than many do in a lifetime.
Her school years were filled with rehearsals for school and church plays, preparing for band performances and trips, participating in track and field and playing softball.
Never did she allow for a dull moment!
She set her goals on being a nurse and attended UCO in Edmond in pursuit of that dream.
On Sept. 15, 2000 she was diagnosed with fibro lamellar hepatocellular carcinoma, a rare liver cancer, and her battle for life began.
She received the gift of life through a liver transplant at Integris Baptist Medical Center on Oct. 25, 2000.
On July 14, 2001, Brandi married her sweetheart of two years, Shawn Sester, and they began their life together.
Brandi embraced life and she was a huge Disney fan. She and Shawn visited both Disney Land and Disney World.
In 2004 she toured Europe and in 2005, she and Shawn went on a Mexican cruise. Together the couple often traveled when they could to see family and friends in Texas, Colorado, California and Maryland.
Always on the go between chemotherapy and radiation treatments, and six major surgeries, she encouraged so many with the strength and faith she displayed during her fight.
If you knew Brandi, she has touched your life and heart forever.
Brandi is survived by her husband, Shawn Sester of Oklahoma City; mother and stepfather, Julie Evans and Preston Gillmore of Rockville, Md.; father, Dennis Evans of Edmond; step-mom and dad, Stacey and Garyle Harlin of Edmond; mother-in-law, Sher Sester of Oklahoma City; grandmother, Patsy Parsons of Seminole; great-grandmother, Marjorie Galpin of Seminole; grandmother and grandfather, Birdie and Raymond Parsons of Sterling, Colo.; sister, Jessi Evans and brother, Drew Evans, both of Rockville, Md.; Matt Harlin, Brett Harlin and Sara Harlin of Edmond and John Gillmore of Edmond; and a host of other family and friends all across the country.
In Brandi’s memory, the family would appreciate donations be sent to the Nazih Zuhdi Transplantation Institute in lieu of flowers. This will help to advance the knowledge of and to promote research for organ transplantation.

Allen Sharp
Funeral services for lifelong Konawa resident Allen Ray Sharp were held today at 2 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa.
Burial will follow at Vista Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Konawa.
Sharp died Friday, Oct. 20, 2006 at his residence at the age of 85. He was born on Oct. 6, 1921 in southern Pottawatomie County, to Selz Hobert "Buster" & Tina Lena (Curry) Sharp.
He enlisted in the United States Navy and served during World War II. He married Luella Marie (Hutton) on Nov. 15, 1941 in Shawnee.
They were to celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary on Nov. 15, 2006.
Sharp was a farmer all of his life and he served on the board of directors for the ASCS (Soil Conservation), Farm Bureau Board of Directors and former State Secretary of the Future Farmers of America.
He was a 32nd Degree Mason and was a member of the Konawa Masonic Lodge # 322. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Konawa.
His parents; one son, Kay Anthony Sharp; one grandson, Floyd Ray Sharp and two great-grandchildren, Kyleigh Marie Lowry and Jacob Garrett Lowry, preceded him in death.
Surviving is his wife Luella Sharp of the home; four sons, Bob Sharp of Harrah, Max Sharp of Konawa, Jim Sharp of Asher and Bill Sharp of Oklahoma City; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Sharp, Darin Sharp, Gary Sharp, Michael S. Sharp, Michael A. Sharp and Heath Lowry.
Honorary bearers will be Gene Dennie, Edd Bottoms, Bob Lester, Eddie Wayne Bottoms, Lillard Berry, Randy Dennie and James Earl Tooley.
Earl Lee Sharp
Funeral services for Holdenville resident Earl Lee Sharp are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church with Rev. Jason Yarbrough and Rev. Steve Murray officiating.
Interment is to follow services at Oakwood cemetery under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.
Sharp, 81 died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2006 in Oklahoma City. He was born on May 21, 1924 in Shidler, Okla. to John and Blanche (Morris) Sharp.
He moved to Holdenville from Midland, Texas 10 years ago and married Betty Sharp on Feb. 23, 1996 in Mineola, Texas.
Sharp worked in oilfield equipment sales for many years and had served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion and the Masonic Lodge.
His parents, one daughter Patti King and his first wife, Vivian Sharp, preceded him in death.
Surviving is his wife Betty Sharp of the home; two granddaughters; two stepdaughters, Jan Sipe of Tulsa and Carol Ozzello of Pueblo, Colo. and one stepson, Larry Adams of Yukon.
The family suggests that donations should be made to the charity of choice.
Joseph Sharp
Funeral services for Wewoka native Joseph William Sharp are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel in Edmond.
Interment is to follow at Gracelawn Cemetery in Edmond under the direction of Matthews Funeral Home.
Sharp, 69, of Edmond died Friday, Oct. 27, 2006. He was born in Wewoka on Jan. 27, 1937 to Dewey Carl and Maudie Mae Sharp.
He was self employed as a diesel mechanic and did contract work with Unit Drilling.
Sharp attended the North Fork Baptist Church.
His parents and brothers, Daniel Raymond Sharp and Michael Sharp and an infant preceded him in death.
Surviving is his wife, Betty Ann Sharp, of the home; daughter, LaVina Jane Wigington; son, Timothy Lowell Sharp; siblings, Bonita, Juanita, George, Kenneth, Carl, Geneva and Leveta; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family has suggested that donations be made to the Northfork Baptist Church Mission Dept. in Eufaula.
