Willene Shultz

Graveside services for Seminole resident Willene Yvonne Shultz were held yesterday at 2 p.m. at Little Cemetery with Bro. Andy Quinton officiating.

Services were under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Shultz, 73, died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2006 at Seminole Estates Care Center in Seminole. She was born Nov. 27, 1933 in Perry, Okla. to Willie O. Pricer and Lydia (Tolsdorf) Pricer.

She graduated from Perry High School and continued her education at a business college.

On Jan. 19, 1955 she married Ray Shultz in Pawnee and was retired from Joe Mills Well Service in Seminole in the 1980’s and has been a homemaker since.

She was a member of the Bowlegs First Baptist Church.

Her parents and one granddaughter preceded her in death.

Surviving is her husband of the home; three sons, Rob Shultz of Wewoka, Doug Shultz of Oklahoma City and Brad Shultz of Prague; one daughter, Raylene Shultz of Wewoka; one brother, Pat Pricer of Pittsburgh, Texas; one sister, JoAnn Edwards of Perry and two granddaughters.

Coy Wynn Sims

Funeral services for lifelong Seminole resident Coy Wynn Sims are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at the Church of Christ at Little.

Don Ramsey will officiate. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Sims died Friday, Aug. 25, 2006, at his home in the Little community, north of Seminole.

He was born July 23, 1946, in Seminole to Charles Merle and Dorsa Lee (Rose) Sims.

He graduated from Varnum High School and attended Seminole State College for two years.

He married Lynda Kaye Smith on June 1, 1968, at Little.

Sims spent most of his working career as a roustabout in the Seminole oilfields.

He was also a route salesman for Rainbow Bread for 10 years. He was retired at the time of his death.

He was a Baptist by faith.

Survivors include his wife, Lynda Kaye Sims, of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Kristin and Michael Haskins, Earlsboro; five brothers, Charles, Leland, Roy and Starr Sims, all of Seminole, and Harold Sims of Magnolia, Texas; two grandchildren, Blake and Harper Haskins of Earlsboro.

Sims was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will include Buster Pace, Jeff Davis, Steve, Randy and Roy Wynn Sims and Bryan Keisman.

Betty Sipes

Funeral services for Wewoka resident, Betty Carol Sipes, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at the Wewoka First Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Azlin officiating.

Services are under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home, Wewoka.

Betty, age 52, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006 in the Presbyterian Hospital in Oklahoma City. She was born Oct. 1, 1954 in Seminole to Hermine and Faye Smith.

She attended Wewoka Schools and was currently employed at the Oakridge Nursing Home.

Her parents; daughter, Lisa Sipes; grandson, Dylan Sipes; brothers, Hermine Smith Jr. and Dors Eugene; sister, Doris Ann and many nieces and nephews preceded her in death.

Surviving are her children, Justin Sipes and wife Deidre of Wewoka and Douglas (Teddy) Sipes Jr. and wife Yvette of Shawnee; grandchildren, Kimberly, Tyler, Andrew, Blake, Marrisa, Ashley, Montana and Taryn; sisters Sue Dingle and husband Ron, Angie Smith, pat Whelan and husband Randy, Vicki Davis and husband Jim, Kay Smart and husband Darrell and Shonna Porter and husband George and brothers, Dwight Smith and wife Kathy and Grant Smith and wife Nancy.

Pallbearers for the services will be Darrell Smart, Randy Whelan, Jim Davis, Michael Davis, Scotty Davis and Derrick Smith.

Donny Lee Sipes

Funeral services for Wewoka resident Donny Lee Sipes are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Wewoka with Rev. John Lively officiating.

Interment is to follow at Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.

Donny Lee Sipes died Monday, Aug. 21, 2006 at the age of 29 years. He was born Dec. 23, 1976 on his grandmother Fredia’s birthday, to Billy Don and Cindy Lou (Atwell) Sipes.

Donny graduated from Wewoka High School with the class of 1995. He was active in baseball and football. Donny joined the Marines in 1996 and received an honorable discharge in 1998 after breaking his ankle.

He was a member of the Presbyterian Church. He was employed by New Lima Construction for the past nine years. Donny enjoyed his friends and family, riding 4 wheelers and playing play station.

Survivors include his mother, Cindy Sipes of Wewoka; father, Billy Don Sipes of Wagoner; sisters, Mandi Ray and husband Troy Childers of Seminole, Susan Lunsford of Wewoka; grandparents, William O. and Fredia Atwell of Wewoka; grandmother, Loeva Sipes of Wagoner; aunt and uncle, Mitch and Darlene Potter of Wewoka, Carolyn and Warren Ramsey of Wagoner, Debbie and Ronnie Sipes of Tecumseh; cousins, Ronnie Sipes, Dina Sipes and Robin Sipes all of Tecumseh, Tiffany Nunley of Plano, Texas, Nicole Sipes of Shawnee, Scott and Tori Aldridge of Wewoka, Matt Aldridge of Cromwell, Shelly Robertson of Missouri, Chris Whitlock of Tulsa, Justin Sipes of Wewoka and niece and nephew, Morgan and Hunter Lunsford of Wewoka.

Donny is preceded in death by his good friend Lance Whitlock and his aunt, Raellen Aldridge; uncle, Bobbie Sipes; grandfather, Billy R. Sipes and one cousin, Eugene Sipes.

Pallbearers will be Boomer Sawyer, Gary Burgess, Josh Lunsford, Craig Crowson, Ryan Sosbee and Mike Venable.

Serving as honorary bearers will be James Lunsford, Brian Whitlock, Jarrod Waite, Troy Childers, Scott Aldridge, Ronnie Sipes, Will Potter, Billy Don Sneed, Philip Whitlock and Ryan Crowson.

Juanita Smart

A memorial service for former Wewoka resident Juanita Lorene Smart is set for 1:30 p.m. Monday, August 7, 2006, at the Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Wewoka.

Burial is set to follow in Oakwood Cemetery.

Smart died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2006, at a hospital in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 85.

She was born Jan. 2, 1921 in Quasada, Okla., to James Monroe Treat and Dona Ethel (Baker) Treat.

She married Houston Smart on Aug. 27, 1938, in Okemah. Juanita and Houston Smart lived in Wewoka for over 20 years.

For the last two years, she lived with her daughter Judith Gutierrez in San Antonio.

Smart was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son Houston Smart Jr., and daughter Rose Walden.

She is survived by her five children: Tammy Belshe of Dallas, Texas, Judith Gutierrez of San Antonio, Debbie McPeak, of Lodi, Calif., Darrell Smart, of Paradise, Texas, and Kenneth Smart of Bethany; 22 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Jerry Smith Sr.

Funeral services for Wewoka area resident Jerry Allen Smith Sr. are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Baggerley Funeral Home Chapel, 930 S. Broadway, Edmond. Burial will take place at his ranch near Wewoka.

Smith, 64, died of pancreatic cancer Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2006. He was born Dec. 31, 1941 in Kingfisher to Chet and LaFon Smith.

He attended Nichols Hills grade school and graduated from Harding High School in 1960. In August of 1961 he married Diana Avey and they celebrated 44 years together.

Smith began working in the motion picture industry in 1961 with Warner Bros. And throughout his overall career he worked for Paramount, Columbia, MGM and 20th Century Fox.

He and his family have lived in St. Louis, Denver, Atlanta, Dallas, San Francisco and Los Angeles. At one time he was the Sr. Vice President for 20th Century Fox, before retiring in 2000.

Along with his sister and brother he spent time at their "ranch" near Wewoka.

Surviving is daughter, Stacey Murphy of Allen, Texas; son Jerry Jr. of Flowery Branch, Ga.; five grandchildren; sister, Judy Lakin of Sasakwa; and brother, Michael Lunn.

Benny Smith

Funeral services for former longtime Seminole resident Benny Lee Smith are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating.

Interment is to follow service at Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Smith, 60, of Earlsboro, died Friday, Jan. 13, 2006 at Shawnee Unity North Hospital. He was born June 19, 1945 in Tahlequah to Hugh Franklin Smith and Willie Mae (Johnson) White.

He married Linda C. Smith and was a retired heavy equipment operator and diesel mechanic for APTUS Company (a division of Westinghouse) until becoming disabled in 1998.

Smith served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era and he attended the Baptist church.

Surviving is his wife of the home; two sons, Steven Smith of Earlsboro and Danny Yarbrough; three brothers, Jimmy Spencer of Midwest City, Alfred Spencer and John Smith, Both of Shawnee and one grandchild.

Gary Allen Smith

A memorial service for Seminole native Gary Allen Smith is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Saturday at St. Paul’s Cathedral, 127 NW 7th Street, Oklahoma City.

Gary unexpectedly left this world on Wednesday, May 24, 2006 in Moore. He was born on Sept. 10, 1951 to Thurman and Betty Smith in Seminole.

Gary graduated from Seminole High School where his success in athletics afforded him an athletic scholarship to Seminole Jr. College.

After a brief military service, Gary continued a Civil Service career at Tinker Air Force Base for the remaining 33 years of his life.

Gary’s greatest love was spending time with his family. He also enjoyed golfing, woodworking, cooking and entertaining with friends.

Gary was a loving husband, father and friend to all who knew him. His presence will be missed by all whose lives he touched.

His mother, Betty and brother, Tommy preceded him in death.

Surviving is his father, Thurman; his wife, Kathy; sons, Travis and wife Wendy of Oklahoma City, Patrick Jilge and wife Amanda of Midwest City and Trent Jilge and wife Melissa of Choctaw and granddaughter Makayla.

Jackie Smith

A memorial service for Seminole resident Jackie Ray Smith will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. C.L. Thomas officiating.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Jackie Ray Smith passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006 at the age of 59 in Seminole. He was born on Sept. 30, 1947 in Holdenville to Farris Earl and Alice Mae (Craft) Smith.

He married Judy Ann Smith on Dec. 19, 1970 in Seminole and he retired from Lone Star Transportation where he was a truck driver for many years.

His maternal and paternal grandparents precede him in death.

Surviving is his wife of the home; parents, Farris and Alice Smith of Spiro, Okla.; son, Justin Smith of Seminole; daughters and son-in-law, Crystal Smith of Seminole and Cassie (Smith) Cheatwood and husband Stephen of Seminole, brothers and sisters-in-law, Jay Lee and Carol Smith of Spaulding, Okla. and Jim and Delores Smith of Harrah; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Jo Ann "Aunt Peanuts" and Johnny Crow of Atwood and Joy "Aunt Sis" and Rev. C.L. Thomas of Spiro; five grandchildren, Adrian Smith, Eric Smith, Shane Moore, Cynthia Cheatwood and Ike Cheatwood and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
