Graveside services for longtime Seminole resident, James "Jay" Wesley Ray Taylor, are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. at Little Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.
Jay passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006 at the age of 81 in Shawnee. He was born on March 27, 1925 in Seminole to James Cecil and Clara (Markwell) Taylor.
In August of 1945 he married Faye (Galpin) Taylor, she preceded him in death in 1978.
He was a ranch foreman in California for 20 years and was currently working with Experience Works in Seminole where he did maintenance and custodial work.
Jay was a member of the OddFellows and the Rebecca’s Lodge of Wewoka for many years.
His parents, wife, one son, Alvin Taylor, and one granddaughter, Tammy Taylor, preceded him in death.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Cecil and Sharry of Visalia, Calif. and Leroy and Linda Taylor of Hanford, Calif.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Jimmie Taylor of Seminole and Clifton and Phallis of Wewoka; five sisters, Susie and husband Gene Brittain of Holdenville, Betty Galpin of Bakersfield, Calif., Margie Wright of West Point, Calif., Eva Lou Goodman of Mims, Fla. and Eunice Hensley of Las Vegas, Nev.; four grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren also survive him.
He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Christine Thetford
Funeral services for former Cromwell resident Christine E. (Badgett) Thetford are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday at Oakcrest Church of Christ, 1111 SW 89, Oklahoma City.
Interment is to follow at Resthaven Cemetery under the direction of Branstetter-Merritt Funeral Home of Oklahoma City.
Thetford, 75, died Thursday, Dec. 29, 2005. She was born Nov. 27, 1930 in rural Seminole County as the youngest of five children to James Luther Badgett and Mary Margaret (Heiskill) Badgett.
She attended elementary school at Excelsior Consolidated School, located north of Cromwell.
In 1943 Christine moved with her mother to Oklahoma City and later graduated from Classen High School. She also attended business school and worked as a business associate in hospitals, banking and care organizations.
Thetford was a member of Oakcrest Church of Christ and enjoyed people, especially children.
Her parents and sister Ina Boyle Shamblin preceded her in death.
Surviving are three brothers, Harold Badgett of Belmont, Calif., R.B. Badgett of Seminole and Donald Badgett of Del City.
John Thomas II
Funeral services for Prague resident John Preston Thomas II are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Parks brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague.
Rev. Sharon Capron and Bro. Tim Emmons are to officiate. Interment is to follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka.
Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service, Prague.
Thomas, 87, died Wednesday, May 10, 2006 in Prague. He was born May 21, 1918 to John Preston and Rosie (Kelcey) Thomas.
He married Dorothea Riley on July 10, 1943 in Seminole and was a salesman with Prague Wholesale for many years, and later worked for R.A. Fielden Realty.
Thomas was a member of the Prague United Methodist Church.
His parents and four brothers preceded him in death.
Surviving is his wife of the home; two sons, John Preston "Jake" Thomas, III of Austin, Texas and Howard Glendon of Lawton; daughter, Kim Beachler of Prague; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Joseph Thompson
Joseph Roger Thompson, age 63, of Paige, Texas died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2006. He was born Feb. 17, 1942 in Prague, Okla. to Alfred Randolph Thompson and Mildred (Quary) Thompson.
Most of his life was spent working in the oilfields. For relaxation, he loved fishing.
His family recalls how they would sit for the longest and not have a nibble, but Joseph would walk up, cast out, and bring in a fish.
A celebration of life was held on Jan. 3, 2006 at Marrs-Jones-Newby Funeral Home in Bastrop, Texas.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents Alfred and Mildred, stepfather Curtis Morrison and brother Sidney Thompson.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Thompson of Paige, Texas; daughters, Tammy Thompson, Candy Ware and Heather Thompson, all of Bastrop, Texas, Ladawn Vasquez of Shawnee, Okla. and Jovonna Hill of Pleasant Hope, Mo.; sisters, Mary Green of Meeker, Okla., Darlene Clark of Checotah, Okla. and Delilah Coker of Midwest City, Okla.; 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Joseph will be laid to rest with his parents at Little Cemetery at 1 p.m. on the 17th day of February 2006.
Mary Tiger
Graveside services for Wewoka resident Mary Joyce (Factor) Tiger were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Factor Family Cemetery officiated by Rev. Amon Harjo.
Services are under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
Tiger, 87, died Saturday, Jan. 21, 2006 at a local nursing home. She was born April 10, 1919 in Wewoka to William and Nancy (Bender) Factor.
She graduated from Sam Country School and attended Bacone College from 1939 – 1941. She was in the United States Navy Waves from 1943 – 1944, serving during World War II.
On May 6, 1950 she married Jack Tiger. She retired from BIA Eufaula Boarding School in 1981 and was active in the Little Quarsarty Baptist Church in Cromwell as a women’s leader.
In addition, she taught Sunday school until illness kept her from being active.
Her husband; four brothers, Kenneth, George, Harry and Bill Factor and four sisters, Sarah Factor Larney, Cogee Factor Miller, Lena Factor Wright and Nora Factor Harjo preceded her in death.
Surviving are her nieces and nephews.
Paul Tiger Jr.
Funeral services for Wewoka native Paul Kenneth Tiger Jr. are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Byrd officiating and assisted by Rev. Don Jones.
Interment is to follow at the Cosar Family Cemetery east of Bowlegs under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
A memorial service has been scheduled for 6 p.m. Sunday at Tulsa Indian United Methodist Church.
Paul went home to his Lord and Maker on Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2006. He was born Sept. 18, 1942 in Wewoka to Becky (Maggie) and Paul Kenneth Tiger Sr.
He was raised in Tulsa and graduated from Will Rogers High School in 1961.
Paul was a great OU football fan and had the privilege to play one year of football there.
He graduated from East Central University in Ada in 1974 with a bachelor’s degree in history and sociology.
He was employed over the years as a counselor with the department of Correction, Tulsa Indian Youth Council, Oklahoma Mental Health, Muscogee Creek Nation and Cherokee Nation.
Paul was a faithful and active member of the Tulsa Indian United Methodist Church and loved his brothers and sisters in Christ very much.
His parents and brother, Solomon Fish, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his nieces, Lucy Kelough of Seminole, Sharon Burgess of Wewoka; nephews, Dennis Fish of Seminole and Bennie Fish of Holdenville and dearest friend, Dixie Buchanan.
Pall bearers fro the services will be Mitchell Kelough, George Burgess, Christopher Burgess, Gary Burgess, Johnny Ray Wood and Eddie Holland.
Joe Tipken
Graveside services for Norman resident Joe Dale Tipken are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at Highland Cemetery, Okemah, with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.
Tipken, 30, died Monday, July 3, 2006 in Oklahoma City. He was born Feb. 10, 1976 in Okemah to Steve Wilson and Jolene Pinnix.
He attended Okemah Public Schools and was a construction worker.
His grandfather, Joe Dan Tipken preceded him in death.
Surviving is his mother and stepfather, Jolene and Garney Pinnix of Cromwell; his father, Steve Wilson of Hickory, N.C.; two sons, Chance and Steven Tipken, both of Wewoka; his fiancé, Jessica Glover of Yukon; grandparents, Donna and Troy Roundtree of Cromwell; one great-grandmother, Madge Gower of Okemah and two sisters, Autumn Wiles of Cromwell and Denise Kessinger of Maud.
Sharon K. Treece
A memorial service for former Bowlegs resident Sharon K. (Curlee) Treece was set for 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, 2006, with Rev. Larry Chesser officiating.
The service was set to be held at the Gleanears Holiness Church in Wewoka, under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home of Holdenville.
Treece died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2006, at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City at the age of 48.
She was born Sept. 28, 1958, in Santa Cruz, Calif., to Bill and Mary (Pullen) Curlee.
She was the third of 10 children and was brought up and attended schools, along with her eight sisters and one brother, in Bowlegs, where the family had moved when Treece was a young child.
Treece lived in Seminole for 15 years. She worked for Wal-Mart in Seminole for four years, until her health would no longer permit it.
She attended Gleaners Holiness Church in Wewoka for 13 years and was a Sunday School teacher.
She was preceded in death by her father, Bill Curlee, and two sisters: Renee Curlee and Darlene Curlee.
Treece is survived by two daughters, Tara Zellner and Lisa Harber, both of Holdenville; her mother and stepfather, Mary and Lawrence Cravens, of Holdenville; her husband of 15 years, Ricky Treece of Maud; six sisters Janet Mullins of Konawa, Sandra Booth of Tulsa; Patricia Harrington of Holdenville, Melinda Childers of Bowlegs; Christy Walton of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Kim Crow of Holdenville; one brother, Tony Curlee, of Bowlegs; and four grandchildren.
